The Feast of Summer (Open to SJO)

Yuroic had been in talks with the Wookiee community and the Silver Jedi Order about organising a feast shared between the two people. It had been tricky with the events going on in the Core System, the downfall of the Galactic Alliance and now the need for a strong and united Silver Jedi Order was needed, the Order also needed to prioritise meeting its allies and discussing the future in fighting the Sith and the First Order. For now though, now it was time to look closer to home and form stronger bonds with their hosts, the honourable Wookiees who were supportive of the Order.

It had been decided that during this warm summer period, they would have a celebration, a feast to bring both people together. Nothing formal or heavily in tradition. It was a break from all the hard work everyone had been doing as of late. There were drinks and great amounts of food, games and music for entertainmenr with a variety of other things going on.

Yuroic looked pleased with himself as it was being set up, this was perfect. Similar to Zeltros in the fact that people could let their hair down but without the very important mission at the end of that day. Nothing about today was meant to be bring an air of formality or anything not fun. He oversaw the games that were going on, food contests, limbo which was a Wookiee game (at least they had told him this), light poker with no creds being used and maybe a couple of drinking games. The bar was open and free, though bartenders warned not to serve those underage, Yuroic had been stern on that point, there were a number of young Padawans likely to show up.

Taking his large dose of Elysium, Yuroic himself entered the party mood and ordered himself a few shots.

(Event is open to all SJO members and any allies that wish to join and have fun. No violence with the Wookiees! But have fun and enjoy ya selves!)

A feast... always a welcome thing and Jesse stood there. Looking around as she wore the golden top and black pants. Skylar material form fitting but she had a chance to get some food and that was important enough. Hair in a tight ponytail cascading down her back to her ankles. SMall gemstones, crystals and beads were in the scented and oiled hair giving it a gleam that made it look wet. Her eyes given a little ash around them in thin lines to add to the looks she had as her skin gleamed in the light. She was flanked by two wookiee's who were her escorts and friendly showing her how to garden with a smile on her face. "THis looks lovely."

The Kashyyyk weather was warm, perhaps a bit too warm for her liking. But, the sun was out and that did make for a very nice day. The Mirialan had forgone her normal attire and opted for a breezy summer outfit that was made from light cotton and linen, a sure combination to keep her cool. The canary yellow hue was a bit brighter than her usual clothing, but she felt that it would fit in well with the beach setting. On her shoulder was a large tote bag, filled with essentials: beach towel, sunscreen, datapad, and a bottle of water. Her ensemble was finished off by a sun hat with a large brim, to keep the sun off her face.

Walking down the trail to the beach, she could already hear the calls of the native Wookie.

She wasn’t sure, but judging by the tones, she guessed that they were having a good time. As she neared, she spotted a sandy expanse and a line of blue water on the horizon. The waves crept gently up to the shore, where there were already younglings building small sand sculptures. There were nets set up along the beach for games, umbrellas for lounging under, and a host of drinks available at the bar.

Brows lofting with interest, Liuna pondered where to start.

For now, she walked over towards the dunes, away from the threat of being hit by a stray beach ball, and far enough from the water that she didn’t have to worry about getting wet. Unfurling her towel, she laid it atop the sand and soon settled there herself. It was time to relax, for she knew that the day was only just beginning.

There would be plenty of time for shenanigans later on.

Iakchi

Babysitter, Bodyguard, Beverage Connoisseur
A party back home, Iakchi certainly wouldn't miss it. Eschewing the overcoat he often wore in his capacity as a Jedi, the Wookiee made his appearance much more relaxed, and while a human or any of the other hairless beings would have considered him nude, for a Wookiee he was perfectly comfortable with only a belt bearing the crest of his family across his waist. Of course given the cohabitation of the Silver Jedi and his fellow Wookiees, many of their traditions were very familiar to those who lacked a similar belief.

Thankful that the bar was open, he made his way there, assured it would have the beverages he preferred over what was drunk elsewhere in the galaxy. Garrmorl was his poison of choice tonight, a strong drink even amongst Wookiee drinks, but one he developed a taste for. After finding an empty table near the beach's edge, Iakchi took a seat, enjoying the sight of padawans, younglings, and native children playing together. This is what the Jedi fought for. Peace.

Once again, Varindar took advantage of this opportunity to wear a summer dress that was different from her typical lace-heavy wardrobe, even though she knew that the big constraint for buying clothing was the shoulder width; most of the time she preferred sleeveless clothing if it was available. Fortunately for her, working in nearby Trandosha's five-star hotel, the Crown Nebula, got her used to the heat, so unlike [member="Liuna Ondizi"], she was comfortable among Kashyyyk's heat. Plus she wore her practice bikini underneath it should she feel swimming is the order of the day. But before she could go on a swim on the beach, she went to the bar, where she hoped to be drinking something different from what was served at her hotel, arriving at the bar after [member="Iakchi"] did, so the hotelier did, in fact, still have a chance to sample some of the pricier items that aren't served at the hotel, such as the red Coeur d'Alene before going for the swim; she didn't drink that often, but when she did, she'd rather make every drink count. While, of course, she knew that, in the context of alcoholic beverages, more expensive is seldom better-tasting, she still had to sample it.

"I would like a glass of Coeur d'Alene please" she told the barman, before turning around to face the other Jedi on the beach. "Who's up for a swim?" she then shouted in their direction.

Saka was flipping back and forth between the pages of dishes that interested her; as it turned out, the feast did have vegetarian options that were helpfully denoted with a picture of a leaf. They were just scattered among the listings of various barbecue dishes. No offence intended to the more carnivorous hosts of the banquet, but the young Padawan was obsessed with maintaining the fitness regime that had followed her since she was a youngling. A jedi had to be in peak physical condition after all.

Having found something that sounded decent, Saka set her menu aside and rested her elbows on the bar while observing the strange little device given to her by master Nooran. Babel was apparently the missing link for those who couldn't understand the more obscure tongues of the galaxy, making communication easier between both estranged parties.

She shot a quick look towards master Iakchi who appeared to be enjoying himself with the alcohol, the sight of which brought back bad memories of her own first tryst with alcohol. She'd join him once she figured out how to activate the blasted device laying before her.

Losing is tempoary, giving up is permanent.
A feast, a party and time to socialize was always nice, but more then that Sukai was looking to see who the Wookies worked in this sense of association. To live so close to the natives of this planet but at the same time rarely ever interactive with them, it was almost a crime to a person like her that always sought more knowledge of the past. Come to think of it was there not a Wookies Jedi that had joined the order recently. If memory served her correctly their name was [member="Iakchi"] was it not? A quick scan of the current people present revealed the furred Jedi, sitting near [member="Varindar Asyt"] at the table where the wide array of food was presented.

Not only that her eyes spotted two Mirialans too, the first being [member="Liuna Ondizi"], had not seen her for a while, but considering her chose of employment it was to be expected, the slicer spending more time away and in the field then anywhere else. The other though was a new face, they did not look particularly old either, late teens at the most, had they been among those to flee from Mirial after the Sith took over? or a youngling that had passed into becoming a Padawan?

Perhaps it could be a question to ask, but for the moment Sukai was a little peckish, quickly wandering over to the buffet like table, her usual attire swapped out for a more casual look, going for short brown pants and long sleeved white shirt.

Iakchi

Babysitter, Bodyguard, Beverage Connoisseur
Iakchi had begun helping himself to a roast leaflizard when he caught sight of [member="Saka Amara"] over to the side, the Mirialan padawan fiddling with some sort of device. After swallowing a large bite of the leaf-shaped creature, he waved her over, unsure if she'd be able to even hear him from that distance. Quite a few people were beginning to fill into the event, from what he could see from his seat, and it looked like it would be pretty diverse between the native Wookiees and the various species of the Silver Jedi's ranks.

Temple fare on Kashyyyk was actually incredibly varied—it had to be, with Jedi from so many different worlds and species. But that same variety meant that specialized dishes were a thing of dreams; they had to feed thousands of different people with different dietary needs. It was filling and good, but favored simplicity. Saka nudged some of her salad onto her fork and smiled at the server who had brought the dish over.

She quickly turned her attention to the device in front of her as she placed her own dish to the bar side, picking it up with both her tattooed hands to inspect. It seemed to be made to fit in ones ear for ease of use. Rare was the occasion in which the Mirialani was seen in public with her hood down, Saka looked around nervously and pulled her hair out of the hair covering she’d wrapped it in and inserted the device into her ear.
She had, as many Mirialans had, wavy black hair—not that many had actually seen it in the temple. With the exception of her first master and the youngling clan she had been in, she couldn't think of anyone who she had let see her hair voluntarily. The purpose of Mirialan women having hair coverings from teenhood was to preserve a sense of innocence, and because their modest clothing left much to be desired. Obviously not every Mirialan female adhered to this but Saka chose to follow the ancient tradition as it was one of the few things that still kept her attached to her roots.

Lets see if this thing works she thought to herself while putting her hood up again, she picked up her plate of food and moved over to where @Iakchi was stationed.

"I don't understand how Wookiees can suffer the summer heat on Kashyyyk, i can barely stand it as it is." A peaceful smile forming on her lips as she perched herself on the table seat opposite to her master, she felt a slight pang of worry in her stomach as she anticipated the success of the translation device.

Yuroic watched as more Silver Jedi Order members joined them on the beach, the sun was high in the sky and the smells waft over from the barbecue. It was a serene day, he was pleased that a number of people had joined them, speaking with several Wookiees, he was glad that they were enjoying themselves as well. Heading over to the bar, he ordered himself a stiff drink and took a long sip from his glass. Yuroic let out a sigh of relief, it had been hectic the past several months.

Finishing his second drink, he could feel the affects of the drug and the drinks started to impair his judgement. He shook his head, he could clear his head of the affects using detoxification but Yuroic wanted to enjoy his drunkenness and the high from Elysium. Yuroic gestured for a third drink as he stretched out and relaxed his mind.

Since no one took Varindar up on her offer of a swim, not even [member="Liuna Ondizi"], she decided, once she got her cup of Coeur d'Alene wine, she got seated near both [member="Iakchi"] and [member="Saka Amara"], possibly a master-padawan pair, and a recent one at that, one that she didn't readily recognize, with the Mirialan having a strange device in tow that seemed to perform more linguistic duties. Also, Varindar overheard the Mirialan ask a question about how Wookiees could withstand the heat of either Kashyyyk or nearby Trandosha, where she worked as a hotelier, while Saka couldn't even withstand that very same heat. She had to be mindful of what she could and couldn't say to the Mirialan padawan about the guests she had at her hotel, the Crown Nebula. Also [member="Sky'ito Yumi"] was closing in on the buffet, at the same time she was drinking her cup of Coeur d'Alene wine. In fact, the red Coeur d'Alene was too expensive for cooking use, even when accounting for the fact that it is a five-star restaurant that her hotel hosts. She thus approached the young Mirialan next to the Wookiee at the table:

"I'm Varindar, and, it might surprise you, but I run a five-star hotel, the Crown Nebula on Trandosha, where I had both Wookiees and Mirialans for guests. Let's compare the climates of Kashyyyk and Mirial"

"Having so much hair definitely isn't fun during the summers," the Wookiee replied as Saka took her seat. It was more than odd, seeing her with her hair down, even if the phenomena would only be a brief thing. What little he knew of Mirialans told him that it was a cultural preference to keep the hair covered, something that for Wookiees was not only unheard of but likely impossible in practice. Iakchi himself wore quite a bit of clothing while on assignments, only out-dressed by guards in traditional heavy armor, but even he kept his limbs and head uncovered.

"When you live high in the wroshyr though you get pretty great winds coming through. They keep us cool up there, and if not, you can always take a trip down to the Shadowlands. Less sunlight, lots of cool dirt to sit in. Of course then you've got the katarn, and the netcasters, and the wyyyschokk to worry about, but if you're smart they aren't too much trouble."

[member="Saka Amara"]

Losing is tempoary, giving up is permanent.
Walking closer Sukai took note of the device in [member="Saka Amara"] hand, the Mirialan then putting it to her ear, was it some sort of translator for the Wookie language? Maybe, come to think of it Sukai was probably getting a little rusty in her, perhaps this little gathering would be a good time to brush up on the some what confusing language. For the moment though [member="Iakchi"] seemed to be speaking in his native tongue so perhaps it was, unless the Mirialan woman knew Shyriiook, though her attention quickly shifted to [member="Yuroic Xeraic"], smelling the familiar odor of alcohol.

"Gemander, is now really a good time to be drinking? I have nothing against it but I can see clearly you are begoining to becom intoxicated, and trust me I know that feeling quite well". Though not being nearly as old as Yuroic Sukai was no stranger to drink, having partook of the intoxicating substance often before becoming a Jedi, leading some awkward and strange interactions, one such being with a Wookie where Sukai had ridden on their shoulders, despite much protest. "I would rather not have to drag you back to the rest and have you sleep, I may be stronger then I look but a man as tall as you would still be difficult to carry".

[member="Sky'ito Yumi"]

"Oh leave him be." Jesse stepped forward as she had been observing and there was a small glass in her hand. The woman's face though was more amused as she had seen many things. "Though I have seen an ewok stand, heard a jawa band. I've even seen a sarlacc that winked its eye." She had a smirk on her face taking a drink. "KNight Yuroic is just enjoying something that was successful at the very least on zeltros." Stopping her swig when she looked at Sky'ito as she offered a hand. Wrist turned up and looking somewhat delicate but she had been a pirate compared to some of the others. "I am Jesse Organa and sadly I must apologize for it but I was lonely over there."

Iturizu Yuvie

Be carfule what you wish for
[member="Varindar Asyt"] had informed Yuvie about a possible social event on the Silver Jedi home world, though technically speaking not apart of the order the former inquisitor still held close ties with them. The Mirialan having taken part in a few operations with the hotel owner, also temporary taking up residence in her establishment, emphasis on temporary as it was only a hotel not an apartment complex, and thus Yuvie had to vacate every and then to allow others to stay in the 'romantic themed room'. Such was just another reason for the Mirialan to come to such a gather, soon walking into the feasting area donned in the simple black and purple robes of his race, though it turned out he was not the only one here.

Like a heat seeking missile, Yuvie's eyes quickly picked a fellow green skinned alien ([member="Saka Amara"]) of the crowd as they conversed with a wookie (@Iakchi), along with [member="Liuna Ondizi"], agent he had met a while back while in the employment of the Galactic Alliance. Of course there was also [member="Varindar Asyt"] herself, most likely talking about her hotel to those present, she sure did like drumming up business, but that was the commercial world, if still a trader like the rest of his family Yuvie would probably be trying to sell something off to those in attendance."Well this is a nice little gather, mind if I join"? he replied to no on in particular, walking up behind Varindar.

Understandably she could tell [member="Iturizu Yuvie"] was, in fact, eyeing the two Mirialan ladies that were [member="Saka Amara"] and [member="Liuna Ondizi"]: these two ladies were Mirialans, the same as him. Now, she wouldn't pretend to know anything about the Mirialan beauty standards, but it may simply be because he wanted to see the survivors of their race, after the devastation of Mirial. Just that [member="Iakchi"]'s explanation of the wind being present among the wroshyr treetops and also the shade of the Shadowlands, at the base of the trees, made her realize that the shimmering heat of the area around the hotel was, in fact, something that forced Varindar to keep a close watch on the hotel's HVAC system: she knew that a poodoo-load of complaints would ensue. It wouldn't be so bad on a planet like Berchest, but Mirial, from what she heard about it, was the opposite: cold but not quite as much as Hoth. So she got the glass of Coeur d'Alene wine finished, and then went to the beach locker to get the dress stored in there before she could go back to the beach and get the swims of the day started.

"Well, I guess it's time for the swim"

The Silver's had a beach near the Silver Rest on Kashyyyk? News to him. He knew he was usually busy and all, but this would have been nice to know about on his off-time. Oh well. Better to know late than never, right? And just in time for this festival, as well.

"What, Jason... Is brown... And sticky?"

"Ah?"

"A stick."

The toddler would begin giggling loudly, and Josh could chuckle a bit as the Jedi and his son would walk onto the beach. "At least someone appreciates my puns" He joked. Sure, the kid couldn't understand a word he was saying and was probably just reacting to the funny face he made during the delivery most likely, but know what? He'd take it. Jason was growing quickly, and had finally reached a height to where Josh didn't have to carry him everywhere anymore. Instead, the Father-Son duo walked together onto the beach, wearing sandals while Josh held a bag of towels and other things in his free hand as they looked around. Jason of course was instantly curious about all of these new things around him, and Josh was quite comfortable with the feel of the sand under his toes, the sunny weather and the ocean in front of them.

And of course there was food. Which got Jason's attention immediately.

And so it was coming back to the temple after just finishing up a recon mission or two that he just happen note of talk about some local gathering of sorts. That he decided to check it out though not so much as he was keen to look up or meet up with any company sort. But then again talk of food and drinks was to be served during the event caught his fancy. As much could be said of it not being one who one would think to be of the social type for any matter. A chance to unwind and maybe grab a cold brew or two was to him a good enough reason come.

To say the very least have not had much thru out his life once there he really didn't seem to feel what he had on was the best choice. But then again it was all he had and figured it does fine enough for now. As his eyes then unintentionally came to scout the area before him that he came to note a couple or so familiar faces mixed in with quite a few that were not. But then again he hadn't been back for so long and when he did or was. He didn't really stay long much seeing how the state of things was. Ron didn't feel keen on nor intend stay long enough to pick up nor maybe train anyone else despite it being if anything traditional as much it was a given.

At any rate, push this thought aside he then with his jog pants roll up high to his knees and having to grab a drink off the bar. He then set off to wander to the sideline. Sip a few drinks off his poison of choice as other may argue say or call the alcohol he had in hand. As he began to try to unwind and take the opportunity of having a bit of a downtime from all worries or thought of work at that time. As he then looks about spot a quiet corner by the wayside to which he heads to and sat down to hang out for a bit.

Saka took a deep breath and let it back out, chuckling in response at Iakchi's explanation of his people's lifestyle. “I've heard and seen what those bowcasters can do, i think no one would trifle with a angry Wookie” she said, turning around to notice the arrival of another Jedi who shared her heritage being a fellow Mirialan.

The Mirialan was a green color much like her own skin albeit slightly lighter. She was also every bit as accomplished as Saka was as she sported tattoos similar to her, if she had to guess. The other Mirialan must've been a knight or master of some kind.

"Well met there, feel free to join us."
