Public The Exhibition of Light

Gunships weren't exactly his thing. Ships in general weren't, given he didn't like to fly, but there was little use for a gunship for Aris. Yet, he found himself wandering between the exhibits. There was a more simple part of him that just liked how the ships looked. Some were sleek, some were more robust and technical. He sipped at the cup he had, smiling faintly. It was some kind of juice he'd gotten from one of those food stalls. There were probably other things to eat and drink, and he would eventually.

Maybe.

Right now he was distracted by one of the sleeker models. Why this design? What was the method they even came up with it? All kinds of questions passed through his mind, but he didn't voice them. He just sipped his drink and let his mind wander on it's own.

Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
The sounds of the expo continued as she remained there, hovering. The mental communion with the creature at the base of the platform. Its large size something that had been used for mobile temples and older things once upon a time. She could feel him relaxing, the waters of Naboo cool and with the repulsors that were built into the channels it was like jets massaging his underbelly. The excitement of the platform being on the back of a giant creature was also a novelty as the energy bridges were able to retract. His movements as he swam around and others shows could be seen. Their excitement was also there as he would raised his head to let out a thrumming roar. Now loud but more like a call that could be felt in the body.

The jedi remained hovering as she watched it with him and was observing many of the other aspects of the expo. There was more people here then she had thought there would be. The excitement in the air as speeders were still arriving and she heard something. "MOMMY." The piercing sound as a small ball of energy launched herself away from the expo. Hanae, her and Hanna's tenth daughter rose up and latched onto her mothers back like she was giving a piggyback ride. She was one of the few who could touch and grasp the jedi master when she was using art of the small on her molecules but she did. Her arms wrapping around her neck as her hair to the side.

SHe breathed for a moment but turned her head to look at the girl as she spoke. "I want to so see the other jedi." She looked at the girl and her time going to the silvers and sometimes the Hidden paths areas had been interesting. She had only met Connel Vanagor Connel Vanagor once but she liked seeing the other jedi as the master didn't touch the ground but adjusted her to be in one arm. The other letting her gesture while she was floating and moving. Herr robes adjusting as the size became sleeveless allowing her arms to be seen. The train of it receding into a simple design while the molecules were adjusting with the matter itself. "I don't know if you know any of the jedi here sweetie."

She said it and the girl looked at her. "Eternity is here, I can ride him around." The jedi master looked towards the shard high marshal. The shard was in his chassis of an oversized Ssi-ruu with its massive saurian head, tail and body. Able to lead the iron legion of shard walkers that they had designed. She looked at the girl while her hair was condensing into a smaller curtain behind her but she remained there. "Do you really think he'll enjoy that?" She asked it and the girl looked at her as only a child can who was trained by jedi and a politician. "I think Momma would say we need to regotiatisate." She was nodding and Matsu looked at her while she just ran a hand through her head.

"Momma is going to have to stop teaching you how to convince me." She said it as moving she saw the small ride they were on circling around still and the High Marshal was there. Hanae's voice coming out as she spoke. "She said if I am cute and adorable you'll let me do anything." Matsu would have to have a conversation with that woman... later maybe she wasn't angry but weaponizing cuteness was not the jedi way.... might be the Hapan politician way. "Hmmm." Was all she said as she saw Eternity overlooking the Gonki droids who were in a small pen. Their riders all being put into safety equipment. Helmets, pads and they looked like puffed up ropos or porgs but they wouldn't get hurt if they fell off of the Gonki droids.

The High Marshal looked at her as she was at his considerable eye levels. The gleaming metal of his teeth, the blue glow of his eyes and his voice came out. THey had a giant metal dinosaur that led the jedi's walker division here for the fun of it. "Grandmaster welcome is the little one going to compete." His voice came out of the lips and it looked awkward but it was perfect when she spoke. "No, She and I are going to explore the expo and I am going to leave you in charge here. Explain to the judges or when Chi Chuchi Chi Chuchi if she comes around the ship or anything. I will be able to be contacted and arrive quickly." She said it and he looked at them with a nod.

"Understood, I was about to explain the rules of Gonki racing and bustin to the kids." He said it with a nod as she looked at Hanae and was hovering off towards the rest of the expo. THe high marshals voice coming over with a look. "Now the first step will be to hold on as tight as you can. THe goal is eight seconds and these will only be going at a brisk pace but if you are not careful you can still get hurt." He was speaking and the ultimate goal of being there and holding on meant prizes and candy. Matsu turned to look and she saw no real jedi in the force that she knew aside from Casaana Casaana but she had a chance to explore as she was floating the child in her arms was looking at everything.

Though he had planned to contribute to the line of Starships on display across the Exhibition today, Dashiell Retrofit™ hadn't managed to meet the deadline. There was something to be said of living two very complex lifestyles, trying to wrangle them inside of a single human existence, yet he wasn't too disappointed.

Despite his absence from the exhibition, he managed to secure a new contract with the High Republic and began opening the door to consistent business dealings with Alban Roble Alban Roble of Roble Manufacturing™. The new Heavy Destroyer manufacturing line had been set into operation, and Mahina Shipyards were now running smoothly since he had assumed new ownership.

Theed City, and by extension Naboo itself, were beautifully on display for people from all corners of the Galaxy, an extraordinary showcase of natural life, architecture, and corporate enterprise, creating quite the bustling atmosphere as Balun Dashiell wandered, his gaze sweeping from one booth to the next, and all persons in between.

People were happy; there was a real sense of peace here and of growth as a society. Here, today, the Galaxy almost felt civilised and stable. That, Balun believed, was a rare thing in his line of work, and respectful of the influence of the High Republic that he had come to love, back when it was still known as the Royal Naboo Republic, witness to its expansion and change over the years.

There was no objective for today, no purchase that had yet taken his eye, though he was not for want of credits. The Dashiell's were a wealthy and prominent family in the Galaxy, and Balun had been blessed to be a member of such a wonderful family. Today, however, he simply roamed. He was happy to let come whatever may, to see where the sights and sounds of the crowd might take him. The Force swept across the plateau of life and laughter, cheer and liveliness, and he simply smiled to himself, pleased to take it all in.

Chi's face relaxed from its usual mask of polite cheer as she listened to Makai talk about his day. She wanted to lean on the bar and maybe put her head down, but that wouldn't do at all, and she instead kept the upright and elegant posture that had been drilled into her ever since childhood. "I like kids in small doses, but never felt the need to have my own. The whole process just seems... undignified to me. The toddler phase also sounds like a nightmare." Chi admitted before taking a sip of her wine. The gentle fruit flavors washed over her tongue as she swallowed the lightly sweet drink, and she made a small noise of pleasure. The excellence of the wine didn't need commenting on, the two of them had already consumed bottles worth of the stuff while choosing and creating the vintage, everything of value had already been said. "This is a nice break though."

"And yes, the Boutique can deliver the bed. But if you're going to meander around a bit, take a look at the ships on display and tell me what you think? I have an eye on one or two, but as a dabbler in design myself, I'm worried I'm being a bit overcritical towards the others."
She wouldn't say which if Makai agreed as she didn't want to influence him.

Vess didn’t arrive with the crowd, she blended into it. By the time the Senator stepped onto the stage and the attention of thousands tilted forward in neat, expectant lines, she was already there, just another face in motion. Nothing about her stood out. Her clothing was clean but unremarkable, fitted well enough to belong without drawing the eye, the kind of look people glanced past without thinking. Even her posture helped, relaxed but aware, present without ever asking to be noticed.

Her hazel eyes moved constantly, but never sharply. She wasn’t scanning so much as absorbing, letting the scene build itself piece by piece in her mind. The speech carried across the plaza in polished phrases about unity and progress, but it barely held her attention. What mattered was everything around it. The way people shifted, where they clustered, where they thinned out, where attention naturally gathered, and where it didn’t.

Security came first. It always did.

The crimson uniforms were obvious, almost intentionally so, standing at key intersections and drifting through the wider avenues in slow, predictable patterns. That was for the crowd, something visible to reassure and deter. Vess’s gaze lifted briefly toward the surrounding architecture, tracking lines of sight, vantage points, the places someone would watch without being seen. That was where the real coverage would be. Passive systems, likely layered, maybe even adaptive depending on density and movement.

Her attention shifted back down, moving with the flow of people as she drifted past the smaller booths. Vendors, tourists, off-worlders with too much curiosity and not enough awareness. Hands full, eyes wandering, attention fractured in a dozen directions at once. Easy targets. Too easy. Vess let her gaze pass over them without slowing. That kind of work was quick, low risk, low reward. Not worth the effort here.

The larger pavilions were different. Corporate presence meant better tech, better data, and significantly more value. It also meant tighter systems and people who would notice if something went wrong. Her pace slowed just slightly as she let herself be carried closer, eyes tracking entry points, internal layout glimpses through open displays, staff positioning. Patterns.

Then her attention shifted beyond it all, toward the central island.

The ship designs sat in a clean ring, each one polished and presented like a promise. Concept proofs, unreleased systems, fresh designs that hadn’t been picked apart yet. That was where the real money was. Specs, architecture, proprietary tech. The kind of data people didn’t just buy, they fought over.

And the kind of place that would be watched carefully.

Vess adjusted her path without making it obvious, letting the crowd carry her toward one of the larger pavilions as her fingers brushed lightly along her sleeve where her interface rested, still inactive. No need to move too soon. Rushing got people caught. Her gaze drifted once more across the crowd, then back toward the ships in the distance, something thoughtful settling behind her expression.

There was money here.

A lot of it.

She just needed to decide how she wanted to take it. And not get caught of course.

"Persie!" Casaana practically squealed on seeing her friend and lunged to pull her into a big hug. "How've you been? How long are you going to be here for? I don't need help, but I'd love it if you stuck around a bit. Here, try a cap." She popped a stuffed mushroom into Persephone's mouth as soon as she opened it to answer. Casaana loved the taste of the spicy sausage ground up with the garlic and cheese surrounded by the rich and earthy mushroom flavors. "Hiya Zee," she called out, turning to serve up the double helping Persie had ordered.

"I think most of the boys are down looking at the ships and walkers, dreaming about being heros. Don't think they'll be coming this way until they get hungry." She set the food down for her friend on the side of the table along with her drink. "The fresca is pretty good, just make sure the straw is behind your teeth or they'll catch seeds." She herself thought the drink tasted pretty good, but didn't like the seeds, it was a texture thing, but the Gungan who'd taught her the recipe had insisted they stay in the drink. A beep behind her from T4P-1T reminded her of customers waiting and she turned back to help the next group of people in line, conveniently forgetting to take Persephone's credits.

Seven wasn't at this event to look at tech. She was here to catch the agents of the darkside slacking. Braze Braze had insisted that she wear something that better fit the occasion, something she initially found to be rather childish. After all, she had no intentions of being seen by anyone. But, when she did see the dress that she was being offered something in the former assassin couldn't bring herself to turn it down. It was something she just had an urge to wear. A part of that craving of normalcy she couldn't escape.

She kept herself reserved as she slipped between booths, keeping to herself as she picked out marks. The sun was quite warm today. It felt comfortable against her grey skin as she-

Her knee met the gut of a man garbed in black with traces of armor. His lightsaber clattered against the ground as he snarled behind his mask. She gave him very little time to recover, grabbing a loose brick off the ground and bashing it over his head. The man went down cold, his mask shattering into bits against the ground.

-as she wove her way between each booth. It wasn't exactly interesting, but the weather was nice at least. It sort of made her want to slip away from all of the chaos and bask somewhere. Maybe there was a secluded balcony somewhere nearby where she could-

Seven let out a huff as she brushed the dust off of her skirt. She bent down and picked up the lightsaber that the Sith agent had dropped, stowing it in her purse. She quickly patted him down for any sort of artifacts... nothing immediate. There was, however, something that she took note of. An implant in the back of the neck, some kind of data port. Something of immediate value, maybe that could lead her back to a handler. She steeled herself before she dug her nails in and-

-where she could relax. A sigh escaped her chest as she found herself in slightly open clearing. She didn't like that she was letting her guard down so much. Seven knew she should be more guarded, especially with a Sith lightsaber on her. There was definitely pick-pockets wandering around this place, considering all of the potential wealthy clients. And yet, she wandered a bit mindlessly all the same. Seven didn't really want to keep looking for threats. She just wanted to find somewhere quiet to pretend that the universe didn't exist for a moment.

It was about then that she saw a lone balustrade, a bit secluded and away from most people. Only one or two people seemed to be occupying the space. Seven made her way over and all but slumped against the railing, letting out an exhale. It was about then that she realized that she was exhausted.

Why couldn't she just be a normal person?

She had no awareness that she was bringing a far gloomier atmosphere to the nearby Colette Colette . She was definitely too tired and in her own head to notice.

While the Rosaria-class Gunship Transport was the centerpiece for the Aurora Industries floor space for this exhibition, Merryn was not one to waste an opportunity to further market the company. Designing the transport for the High Republic's contract commission may have been Aurora Industries' quiet chance to enter the market, but she fully intended to start cementing a foothold in the galactic power if possible. However, that meant that the company couldn't just display their submission. They needed to show everything on offer and what was potentially coming down the pipeline to attract potential customers or contracts, something she noted that other participants of the exhibition were also doing. It reminded her of the ATC Expos in a way, although those were much more focused on business while this one seemed part celebration, part fair, and part expo.

Holographic kiosks connected to Aurora Industries' catalog of products were scattered in a small semi-circle around the fully functional Rosaria at the center, while small enclosed booths would allow curious exhibition goers the chance to fly some of the company's ships through augmented reality simulations. Physical copies of their weapons were available for trying out at shooting ranges, protected by deflector shields to ensure an errant shot wouldn't go into the crowd. A new design of protocol droid, prototypes for a new civilian line of droids from Aurora coming in the near future, wandered about their pavilion.

As just the cherry on top, she had arranged for Galactic Illusionary Gaming to release a promotional card based upon the Exhibition itself for Aurora Industries personnel to pass out to anyone who even stopped at their kiosks. The card would be a quiet hint towards that company's own in-development product, besides the announced and forthcoming set based upon the criminal underworld.

While normally she would be taking the exposition floor to hard sell anything and everything, currently there weren't any heavy hitters present and she was allowing her event staff to do the work while she... texted with her wife Ivalyn Yvarro Ivalyn Yvarro about the event and asked how her recent trip to Mahporeem had gone.

Liana couldn't claim to have much knowledge of the many wonderful technologies on display today. She did think a lot of them looked pretty cool though.

The Princess came to the exhibition on a whim more than anything. She was still coasting on the high of her latest political victory, getting the Alderaanian Cession passed by the Senate. Their induction was still on the horizon, but she could celebrate prematurely, couldn't she? It was a step in the right direction, and they needed the wins were they could take them.

Besides, more public appearances were always good for exposure (both in getting Liana more media coverage, and in getting her more involved with the Republic). She wandered past the many booths and stages set up for display, silently musing over the applications of such inventions. Especially any that might help her in her work, either in the office or back on the homefront.

"You were no bigger than my knees when I last saw you, Your Highness." A slightly amused voice said behind Lianna. If the princess turns she would see a green armored woman. Without missing a beat the Mandalorian removed her T-Visor helmet, revealing her scarred face. Despite the rough edges Minerva allowed herself a genuine smile.

She remembered when Amani was pregnant with her and August. Clearing her throat she spoke. "In case you don't remember me, I'm Minerva Fhirdiad, a friend of your family, especially your mother, Queen Amani."

A chuckle escaped her, remembering when she escorted the Wookiee delegation to meet Lianna's father. Still in the back of her mind she was torn about Alderaan. She fought down that burden in her soul to keep it surfacing outwardly. Holding her helmet to the side with one arm Minerva offered her other hand in sincere greeting.

The dancing from the Denon dancers had proven at least largely effective. Ayumi got a chance to celebrate with a few of them and some of the expo foods when she found some of the roasted porg strips on skewers. The sophis fruits had been cracked open showing the large interior sacs of fruit that was held in a membrane but the real treat as it went into a bowl was eating it. She had a chance to really walk around and see more while the Denon Dependency stalls were showing the food being cooked, prepped and handed out quickly. Efficiently and with smiled as the biot chefs were working. THey didn't have a ship in the contract chase but contributions here.

She saw Liana and moved less in a hurry but more as one would for meeting someone. A wave as another approached her and seeing the mandalorian she didn't pause. Less worry as most she had met were... the word wasn't friendly aas she thought about it but they were also not how many in the holos made them. Brutes obsessed with explosions and guns... THey could be but most weren't and conversations with them could be fruitful. "Lady Organa." She said it with a smile though as she moved and waved only speaking at a good distance. "And friend." She said it more apologetic as she didn't know the name to call them but offered a bow of her head. "I hope the Expo is starting out good for you."
