  • Organization Name: The Echani Compact
  • Classification: Galactic Government
  • Affiliation: Itself, but primarily the Echani people.
  • Organization Symbol: See the image at the top of this post.
  • Description: The Echani Compact is the governmental structure of the Echani. Where once it was the Echani Command, a military structure, TEC represents the people as much as it does the military, allowing for greater representation, and a focus on non-military characteristics of life. This command structure centers on the Queen and her advisory council as the leadership for the people, rather than military leaders calling the shots. Because of this, numerous advancements have been made possible among the Echani, such as the dissolution of slavery, and an end to the conflict with the Thyrsians (at least from the Echani side).

  • Hierarchy:
    • The Queen
      • The Queen rules over all aspects of the Compact, and her say is always final. She has total control and can countermand any order given by anyone in either the Civilian or Regular Command.
      • Her advisory council is the next step down, but has no direct control over any aspect of Civilian or Military leadership. It's usually made up of representatives from the Compact's member worlds, though not the planet's governors. In times of transition of power from one Queen to the next, they serve as interim leader, but are not allowed to vie for the role of Queen themselves, and are usually replaced by the next Queen.
    • Civilian Leadership
      • Governors
        • Planetary leaders, usually elected. They serve to maintain order on their worlds as a whole and report directly to the Queen.
      • Mayors
        • Village and City leaders who maintain control of such. They report to Governors.
    • Military Leadership
      • Fleet Admiral
        • Highest level commander of the fleets of the Echani Compact. Reports directly to the Queen.
      • High General
        • Highest level commander of the forces of the Echani in foreign engagements. Reports directly to the Queen.
      • Defense Commander
        • Highest level commander of domestic defense forces, including ground forces and the Echani Air Defense Force. Reports directly to the Queen.
  • Membership: Membership is open to all Echani and denizens of the member worlds. One need only be from the worlds listed above (by birth or residence) to claim membership or be an Echani born elsewhere in the galaxy.
  • Climate: The original climate of the Compact was one focused on war. With the prevalence of the Sith and Imperial forces, the Echani had sought to be a substantive force in the defense of their sector of space against the advances of those forces. As such, they'd effected a wartime stance and had been heavily engaged in battle preparations and military build-up. This continued for some time, even during their time as a member organization of the Galactic Republic. The Echani were known for their military might for good reason.

The Compact was briefly dissolved under the rule of Queen Jacobs for a focus on the age-old idea of the Echani Command. During this time, slavery was outlawed throughout Echani space. Rumors abound that the Compact continued to function and had subjugated the Thyrsians once again, but official and unofficial records of the dissolution of the Compact are publicly available, indicating that the components on Thyrsus were nothing more than usurpers of the name.

The present climate within the renewed compact is tense. Allegations from the Thyrsians have stoked distrust among a great many, but they seek to allay those fears and have reiterated on numerous occasions that they do not wish to renew tensions with the Thyrsians and that their focus is largely on taking care of themselves and helping out the Silver Jedi. Additionally they have reached out to the Galactic Alliance and the New Imperial Order through gifts to show they wish no ill intent upon them.
  • Reputation: Reputation at its onset was high. They positioned themselves as a stalwart against the advances of the Sith and Imperial forces of the galaxy, fighting additionally to stop the droid uprising. They had a very good reputation and continue to do so among most circles. Campaigns have been launched to besmirch their name, but respectable galactic citizens with a penchant for truth will not be easily swayed towards the negativities proclaimed, thanks in large part to past and current actions which are centralized on the largely peaceful rebuilding of the damaged infrastructure of the Five Sisters.
  • Curios: Not Applicable
  • Rules: Fight for each other. Defend the Echani culture. Protect the Sisters. TEC was founded originally as a means of preserving Echani culture in an expanding galactic conflict that the old Echani Command could not keep up. TEC formulated and founded new military structures and rules in order to preserve the Echani way of life, but also to advance into the future. One known rule that was changed was the abolishment of slavery in all Echani systems.
  • Goals: The goals of the Compact are the defense and preservation of her people and member worlds regardless of what major galactic government or organization contains their sector of space. They are staunchly opposed to Sith and Imperial rule and are lukewarm to the Republic and Alliance.

Galactic tensions were at a high in 834 ABY, and the people of the Six Sisters were smack dab in the middle of everything by virtue of their location. In order to respond to growing instability in the region, Janira Fenni took the Echani Command, of which she was in charge, and reformed it as The Echani Compact, situating the Queen as the highest position of power rather than the council in order to provide civilian oversight in a time of numerous military conflicts. This allowed the council to focus predominantly on wartime efforts while the Queen focused on leading the people, rather than the Queen being a figurehead of a bygone era. This change was widely accepted and the Compact quickly began to prosper as it expanded to more worlds outside of the Echani sphere of influence, though through diplomacy, not subjugation.

The relatively peaceful expansion was not to last, however. Omni's return to the galaxy happened shortly after the inception of the Compact, and her military forces were quickly drawn into the fight against this robotic menace. Battles were waged against his forces on various worlds, most notably Ord Mantell where, among the junkyards, a secret droid self-replication factory was in production, creating massive numbers of well-known war droids from era's past. The battle was ultimately won thanks in large part to TEC's own droids, the Echani Mimic Battle Unit, and through the sacrifice of many lives of her soldiers.

Omni was eventually defeated and a time of peace settled over the galaxy. The Compact ceased its expansion during this time, choosing to focus on securing its borders after nearly losing much of what it had gained in the fight against Omni. During this time, it was determined that the Compact could not go it alone, and subsequently, the populace voted to approach the Galactic Republic for admittance into her sphere of influence. This was ultimately accepted, and Rel Connory, among others, served as the Compact's senator during the time of the Republic.

It wasn't long after this that Janira Fenni succumbed to a familial genetic illness and passed away. The Queen stepped down from her role, naming Spencer Jacobs as the new queen, and, with the fall of the Republic, the Compact was dissolved into a shell of its former self, with influence only over the five Echani worlds that made up the Six Sisters and a reversion to calling itself Echani Command. Slavery was subsequently outlawed within Echani space and a period of relative peace dawned upon the Echani. However, as with all good things, that time ended. A rogue element, claiming to serve among the Compact, had usurped the Compact's name and entrenched themselves on Thyrsus, enslaving the populace there in violation of the Pact of Almerra which had previously secured Thyrsian independence from their Echani siblings.

This intrusion upon Thyrsus was done without the authorization of either Queen Jacobs or any members of the military and was, in fact, entirely secret from Echani Command altogether. Not until the Thyrsians overwhelmed and destroyed the Echani upon the world, and united in a feud with the rest of the Echani, did it become known that something had occurred upon Thyrsus. However, there was very little chance to investigate as Eshan quickly became the target of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, and was surprisingly given assistance by the Mandalorian's, the same ones that subsequently crashed a destroyer into Eshan City, destroying a large swatch of it, including the palace. During this event, the Thyrsian forces invaded Eshan and planted their flag outside of the soon to be destroyed palace.

In the wake of this, the Mandalorian's withdrew, and eventually the worlds of the Compact would fall under the umbrella of the Silver Jedi. This initiated a relative time of peace despite hostilities renewed with the Thyrsians. Rebuilding was begun, but with the amount of damage it was a slow process. Queen Jacobs would soon decide to retire from her position as Queen and the role would be taken up by Niamh Raste, the CEO of Eshan Industrial Corporation. Having knowledge, in part, of the events that took place on Thyrsus, she would acknowledge the event and announce an investigation into how it happened, while re-declaring an abolition of all slavery, including severe penalties for violators. In addition to this, she announced a return to a total cessation of hostilities with the Thyrsians, and a return to inward focus of rebuilding.
