Gel delved deeper and deeper into the half completed structure, charging up and up the
Duracrete stairs until he found what he was looking for: a completely empty, totally nondescript room. Devoid of any markings or furniture, no one would have payed it much mind, as it was just another yet to be completed room on a construction project overrun with delays and ever increasing building costs. But to Gel, it was, at the moment, the most important room in the entire building. He ran over to the wall furtherest away from him, and began hitting it as hard as he could with his
Dead Blow Hammer. After a few strikes, the wall began to crack, and after a few more, Gel had made a massive hole in the wall itself, revealing the weapons he had hidden inside upon his arrival to the planet: his helmet,
Bev Shield,
Mandalorian Lanvarok and trusty weapon
Akalenedat. Gel was now fully kitted out and ready for battle, though he couldn't say that he liked his chances.
How had he been made, anyway? What had prompted
Tamsin Starfall
to speak to him, or to really notice him at all? He hadn't done anything out of the ordinary to his knowledge, nor did he think he had someone given himself away. So what was it? What had sealed his fate and gotten him into his current predicament?
That's when a rather nasty memory suddenly entered his mind unprompted.
Gel was back at
Darth Carnifex
's forge, slaving away making weapons and armor when someone entered his forge to watch him work. At the time, he hadn't payed the visitor much mind, as after all, he always had to keep busy with what he was doing, or at least look like he was. But now, being here on Humbarine and seeing
Tamsin Starfall
once again, it suddenly clicked for Gel. SHE had been the one to visit him that day, and she had surely gotten a good and detailed look at him and his face. His mission had been doomed from the beginning, and Gel couldn't believe just how unlucky he really was!
Gel cursed to himself as he ran back downstairs to the entrance. He couldn't believed the Sith hadn't sent in anyone after him. He soon found out why as Starfall called out to him as he hid next to the doorway of the enterance.
"A lot of people are going to die here today if you continue on this crusade, Mandalorian. Their blood will be on your hands if you continue this foolish game. I suggest you surrender now, this is your last chance."
"Let them go, Sith. They have nothing to do with this!", Gel retorted back from the inside of the building. "If you really want me to badly, then why don't you come and get me? I'll be waiting for you on the roof of the building. Or is a mighty Sith Lord too SCARED to take on one single Mandalorian?"
To emphasize his point, Gel leaned out of the doorway and aimed his
Mandalorian Lanvarok directly at Starfall. Flicking his right wrist forward, he fired a quick three round burst of
Morturian Energy Disks at her before ducking back inside once again, racing for the roof of the building. He then radio'd fleet command:
"Command, this is Forgemaster Gel Karn. I've been compromised, and am in need of immediate evacuation. I'm sending you my coordinates now. You'll most likely be coming in hot: I'm trying to draw a Sith Lord away from a crowd of civilians, and they'll need to be picked up and rescued if possible as well. See you soon. Gel out."
As Gel finished his transmission, he just so happened to step foot onto the roof of the building, where he would wait to battle
Tamsin Starfall
in all her horrible glory...
