- Micro-Moon
- The Betrayer Moon is capable of functioning for a long time without external support. As long as the station remains powered, those on board are able to survive on internally grown foods and internally produced materials. Additionally, as inspired by the old Galactic Empire, manual labor and production is handled through the use of what Treatech considers indentured servants working off their payments to the company. This frees up the cost of personnel as more funds can be dedicated to hiring scientists, researchers, and engineers.
- Et Tu?
- Equipped with an advanced stealth generator, The Betrayer Moon is able to cloak its presence and its movements, allowing the large station to deceive high-end sensor systems and the force
- Molon Labe
- A defense bastion, The Betrayer Moon is equipped with powerful defensive systems. Heavy armor and potent shielding help protect from attacks, and point defense batteries provide a strong deterrence for any probing ships.
- Ramjet
- The advanced shielding of the station can be angled towards the "head" allowing for hypothetical ramming solutions against immobile ships, orbital outposts, and even small astronomical objects if necessary. This requires the SLAM system to be functional and active during the maneuver. These ramming solutions lock the station along its vector until they're complete, meaning once a ram has been initiated, the station's safety measures cannot allow it alter its course until the ram is complete.
- As Fast as the Slowest Man
- The hyperdrive system installed in The Betrayer Moon is quite slow, only a Class 7.5. This means that this station moves far slower than most ships. While it doesn't move often, when it does, it slows down its escort by nature of requiring defense due to a lack of offensive capabilities
- The engines of the D3S-1, while powerful, are still barely enough to properly propel the vast station. It moves slowly, even by the standards of its class. It is similarly immobile, taking a long time to make turns or alter its angle
- Toothless
- Despite incredible size, The Betrayer Moon is not equipped with any true offensive weaponry. The station, while intimidating in size and shape, is truly at heart a science and research station. It's bristling point defense systems are able to deter smaller ships, but would be rendered ineffective against cruisers and even well armored frigates.
- Unstable Reactor
- The Betrayer Moon is literally powered by a black hole at the heart of the station. If the reactor itself was damaged, the singularity would likely consume the entire station
- Top Heavy
- Ramming solutions that the station can perform were initially only intended for large asteroids that point defense systems couldn't quickly break up. Technically, this functions against similarly immobile objects like space stations or skyhooks, but would be hopeless against all but incapacitated capital ships, or ships that are attempting to ram the station itself.
- To perform a ram without risk to the structural integrity of the station, shields must be angled forward. This leaves everything behind the head of the station vulnerable to attack
Construction of Treatech's immense space station began before the Jhiaxus system was discovered. Initially planned as a mobile HQ, the design goals of the project were mostly unaltered after Treatech's secretive owner made personal requests for alterations. The station became more secretive, more technologically advanced, and the construction project was moved away from Xorrn's orbit and into the unsecured Jhiaxus System. Construction workers operated under harsh surveillance and even harsher expectations. An aura of paranoia overcame anyone even tangentially related to the project, as Treatech's most elite members feared the discovery of the Jhiaxus system before proper security measures could be enforced. Had they been discovered by even a minor pirate group, Treatech could have lost the incredible amount of potential credits that waited to be exploited from the resource-rich system. In one of the company's darker moments, a decree came down from an unknown executive that ordered the forced servitude of nearly everyone working on the project. Researchers and designers were permanently relocated to the Jhiaxus system indefinitely, while those who actually helped construct The Betrayer Moon faced an even worse fate. These hard working beings found themselves forced to work inside the station for the rest of their lives, paying off a debt that seemed to manifest on its own. The name of the station came around not only from its sheer size, but from the insidious mummer's farce that was performed for all who had worked on it.
