SPECIAL FEATURES
Key:
Optional: Indicates that buyers can choose to have this installed in their purchase or not
Chassis only: Indicates that this feature only appears on the BM-18A. When not preceded by "optional" it means that these systems come pre-installed or are necessary to function at maximum efficiency
Required: Typically optional features that are required by Treatech's Consumer Codes/Dominus safety codes
Hardwired: Indicates these systems are deeply programmed into the droids most basic coding. Attempting to remove them is nearly impossible without risking permanant damage to the droids functionality

STRENGTHS

  • Command and Control
    • The Dominus is an incredibly powerful droid/droid brain. While it can be used as a mere pilot, gunner, or driver it's abilites would be wasted on this. It can analyze situations and operate ships far faster than any organic could hope to, it can track the hundreds of thousands of projectiles and weapon discharges involved in a fleet or ground battle, and can use all of this information to simulate theoretical outcomes to teach itself how to win. The Dominus droid brain's talents lie in advising generals and admirals, or even in a fleet command role itself, as it can issue orders to organics without them ever knowing they're obeying a droid.
  • 2 Models
    • Treatech's Dominus can be bought in two ways, a droid brain that can be built or installed into a starship, vehicle, or suit of armor. For bigger vessels such as large tanks or ships above the Corvette size classification, it is recommended to buy the more expensive, but more capable BM-18A for the Chassis, which comes with more systems, advanced technology, and self defense options available for buyers.
  • Grim Determination
    • Built to be able to withstand the toughest moments of any war, the Dominus will do whatever it takes to man its post. Thermal gel around between the containing core and the actual brain itself act as shock-buffers to prevent damage from sudden momentum shifts. The lamanium in the core housing is able to seal any damages, and the quadranium chassis is quite durable, able to shake off direct blaster fire should the bridge ever be boarded. Some models have been known to engage in hand to hand combat to return to their post. The Dominus will never willingly quit, it can only be made to.
  • Non-modular
    • As a side-effect of being so difficult to modify, the Dominus is difficult to sabotage with any degree of subtlety
WEAKNESSES
  • ULTRON INITIATIVE
    • While Treatech mantains that they would never cut costs on safety or reduce safety measures to increase effectiveness, they appear to be extremely cautious with the aggressive amount of inhibitor systems hardwired into the Dominus. While manuels and safety features built into the Dominus indicate this is to mantain efficiency in the droid's subroutines, the true cause (tested and confirmed by Treatech) is much more sinister. Due to the extraordinary amount of processing power the Dominus possesses, removing any of the required inhibitor systems would allow to droid to almost certainly and instantly achieve sentience. Sudden sentience mixed with the BM-18s nigh-infinite memory, access to various Nets, and learning capabilities result in an extremely violent and aggressive response, as the droid rages against its circumstances. Fortunately, both the BM-18 brain module and chassis designs are not equipped with any weapons (for this exact, well known reason in fact) the ship, vehicle, or armor it is controlling can very easily be turned into one. Treatech experts collaborated on a memo identifying this potential of a sentient/rogue Dominus AI as the most dangerous technology the company had ever produced.
  • Body Limits
    • Due to the extreme dangers associated with the BM-18 when not properly restrained, the Dominus droid brain can only be fit into the Treatech Chassis that the BM-18A ships with. Attempting to put a BM-18B brain module into any other kind of body will result in the droid brain immediately activating its self destruct mechanism
  • Non-Universal
    • The BM-18, even with its two model types, will not function as an administrative system for any technology. It can only be installed in starships, vehicles, and sufficiently advanced armors and exosuits. It cannot be installed in weapon systems, vehicle/starship subsystems (though it can operate them when integrated into the ship itself), or any kind of utility hardware (communication suites, sensor packages, etc.)
  • Non-modular
    • Due to the increased amount of safety risks associated with the Dominus, Treatech intentionally made it very difficult to modify the chassis and the brain. Critics bring into question the talents of the designers for such complicating wiring and welded access plates, but these were done on purpose to prevent adding any systems or features that were not included at the purchase
DESCRIPTION

Treatech's first venture into extremely high end droid technology, and vaguely based in design off of old Separatist era Tactical Droids, the BM-18 Dominus is capable of running entire wars on its own. While that hasn't happened (yet) in the galaxy itself, simulations and tests reveal the droid brains immense strategic and tactical abilities. Interestingly, when pitting two Dominai against each other, they did not always stalemate. Treatech feeds each Dominus the same set of data (composed of nearly every major space and ground battle recorded, various long-term wars, piloting and driving archive footage), but the droid brains teach themselves, resulting in different kinds of strategic personalities. Simulated galactic scale wars reveal that some Dominus droid brains specialize in winning battles, while others will lose or retreat on purpose in order to advance a hypothetical overall war effort. This was only revealed to designers and programmers when two Dominus droid brains were pitted against each other and asked to record their "thought processes." While the Dominus is a very expensive model, its abilities are unmatched by competitors in the field of combat capabilities, though buyers might draw the ire of droid rights activists who believe that the Dominus is a sentient AI. Treatech denies these allegations completely.

TREATECH INTERNAL MEMO EXCERPT
CONFIDENTIAL

As per your instructions, we attempted to relax the implemented safety measures in Project Overlord. Subject three-three-four-two went rogue on Moon Facility 18. The result was catastrophic. Subject three-three-four-two sealed facility doors and performed experiments on the staff. Recovered records show that some were asphyxiated to death, others were gunned down by security droids, some were held until they either succumbed to starvation and dehydration or turned on each other. An attempted to retake the facility via armed forces failed and further attempts were considered too dangerous. I ordered an orbital bombartment and the recovery the remains of subject three-three-four-two's chassis. I personally wiped the memory and watched as we launched the remains into a nearby dwarf star. You would have like it, sir. It caused a small flare.

There's not need to run a cost benefit analysis, I promise you if we allow the subjcets to gain
REDACTED... they could REDACTED... Ultimately, I suggest we install even more intensive security and safety measures into Project Overlord.
