OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Fleet Name: Task Force Citadel
  • Classification: Planetary defense/expeditionary fleet
  • Affiliation: The Empire
  • Fleet Symbol:
    Vg8LMXo.png
  • Description: Formed in the immediate aftermath of the Third Battle of Bastion, Task Force Citadel represents the fragmented remains of the Imperial fleets stationed in the former Oversector II. Consisting of a hodgepodge of corvettes, frigates, cruisers, and light carriers anchored by a precious few Star Destroyers, Task Force Citadel is often highly irregular by Imperial standards. However, Task Force Citadel is kept functional and united by experienced officers who have mostly cast aside their personal differences in order to more efficiently achieve their shared goal of restoring the Empire.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Headquarters: Borosk
  • Ports of Call: Borosk / Alge
  • Goals:
    • Strategic Doctrine: The strategic doctrine of Task Force Citadel is based primarily on two principles: Area Defense and Asset Retrieval.
      • Area Defense: A major objective of Task Force Citadel is ensuring the security of the Borosk system against all external forces. At least half of Task Force Citadel is in orbit of Borosk at all times, often including almost all its larger capital ships.
      • Asset Retrieval: Another important objective for Task Force Citadel is retrieving Imperial assets such as ammunition caches or experimental technology from ex-Imperial worlds. In order to retrieve lost assets, a flotilla of ships led from a cruiser or light carrier will jump into an ex-Imperial system, locate the assets, and send a small detachment of stormtroopers down to retrieve them while causing minimal disturbances to the locals. Once the assets are retrieved, the flotilla promptly leaves the system and the assets are added to Borosk's stockpile.
  • Reputation: Not much is known about Task Force Citadel outside of the former Imperial sphere owing to the task force's low profile and limited range of operations. For Imperial sympathizers in and around Borosk, Task Force Citadel is seen as a vanguard defending the remnants of Imperialism against ever-growing foreign threats. Consequently, the men and women of Task Force Citadel are given great respect by the beings they serve. However, formerly subjugated groups and systems seeking to forge a new post-Imperial identity often see Task Force Citadel as just as tyrannical as the Imperial fleets that once loomed over their heads.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

After the death of Erskine Barran, all seemed lost.

There was no Emperor, no Lord-Regent, and no clear line of succession. Panic soon spread through the ranks of the Imperial Armed Forces, and what remained of the Imperial Navy scattered from Bastion to the furthest corners of Imperial space. One of these flotillas found their way to Borosk, which had been left untouched by the Third Imperial Civil War. After making contact with the government below and confirming that it was still loyal, the amalgamation of three fleets that were almost completely wiped out above Bastion decided to fuse together under joint command in order to avoid creating the same tensions that had led to Empire-wide civil war.

For the next few years, Task Force Citadel slowly but surely began to adapt to its circumstances, to the circumstances and adopting a new set of doctrines. Its first real test was on the outskirts of the Thyrsus system, where a detachment headed by the light carrier Malediction successfully raided Galactic Alliance shipping. With the task force's resolve strengthened by success, it was decided to deploy the Austere with a detachment of stormtroopers to Cathar to loot an abandoned supply depot, ultimately narrowly succeeding in the task.
