Heading down into the Valley of the jedi as Tempest was using and learning to focus the skills. He was leading the way down from Vatsu that was on the edge and she seemed to be exciting until the jedi master stopped at the bottom of it. WIthin the rocks and the dust all around them he could feel the force from the valley and everything was around them. He walked towards some of the areas of the valley that were flatter to start this. Crystals protruding up from the ground, jutting rocks until he stopped and turned around. he could feel the metal bands in the ground while he repulsed with the force to expose the rings. Several making a different area and it was like a training area. "We'll train here." He turned around bringing out his sabers when he set one on his hip for her. "Take your time, find what you are comfortable with."

The terrain was rugged but also very lovely as it was compounded with crystals. She wondered if it were by natural erosion or perhaps they were the remnant deposits of an ancient civilization. “Fascinating.”

Tempest had two lightsabers rolled up in her sash attached at her hip; and yet her Master was permitting her to use one of his own? She felt quite honored by his gesture. The young Padawan inspected the detail. They were splendid in appearance, likely far more updated than her own, as whichever one was from her father has not been updated since before his death. Her’s also did not match.

She held out the lightsaber gripped firmly in her hand and ignited the laser. A loud crack broke the silence and a brilliant deadly glow shot from the hilt. Its hue a pale purple, far too pretty to incite such terror as its earned. Tempest's crystals both emit a brilliant, but bland silver glow. She snickered at the thought of how the Sith prefer red from synthetic crystals, and the Jedi use natural. Still purple is quite rare a sight. “I never imagined you a man to fancy purple. But I guess after living as long as you have…you've earned every reason to be eccentric,” she joked. “Really though, are their genuine intensities linked to the different colors of crystals?”

Not having any background on Master [member="Syn"] ‘s fighting style, and imagining he would have quite the reach over her own minuscule stature, Tempest took the defensive Soresu opening stance, while putting her center of gravity low to the ground.

"Ah what is purple?" He asked it standing there and looking at her. A blind man knew only the small handful of colors after all from black to black and black... he only knew bright light and dark light as it was from being able to see the force but they were featureless. Smooth and just glowing within the force before the jedi master had his saber in his hand. Observing her stance and style as he had a grin appearing on his face. "Soresu is a good form to start with, defensive and able to get a fel for the one you are dueling." He rolled his shoulders while holding the saber in one hand and he took a stance that was less formal and more radiated hi tyle. Straightforward.

He was making it look like he was open to attack, ready to be struck down with his saber at the one side pointed towards the ground. His muscles tightened, veins looking more like metal cords as he released an aura. Heat and pressure with force of will that came outwards in a bubble. Warmth and heat washing over but it wouldn't burn, it would be there to feel when he looked at her and waited a moment surging forward and he used his speed. Going with a juyo strike while he moved and kicked with his foot, blade switching into a reverse grip in his hand to come to his knee and the saber blade was in front of his leg. He spun on his heel quickly as it was planted with a full reach.

The jedi master remained where he was and kept the kick going in to break her guard, soresu was about outlasting the opponent. He knew that the best way to break the pure defense was with something akin to pure offensive power. You made each impact rattle their bones until the guard broke. You attacked and attacked but didn't jump around like an ateru user. His kick spun him around to strike and try to smash her blade. Reeling back afterwards whether it struck and went through or was blocked and held he pivoted back with his leg coming down quickly. Planting the foot before he came up with his free hand for an uppercut of the arm to try and hook the wrist to catch it and hold her.

The hilt a bit more heavier to which Tempest is accustomed, she is quite unsure how she will fair with [member="Syn"] ‘s Lightsaber as her weapon. However, it is a great experience for her. She breathed in the Force around her in preparation.

At first Tempest felt Master [member="Syn"] perform some witchy strange pulse. She never heard tell of such things, because she has not been around all that much. He seemed to begin his lesson by going carrowack on her arse. He was flying through the air, spinning, landing, flying and twirling again, trying to lead with his foot, clearly intending to thrust his weight into her. Tempest already crouched low, moved quickly when he had his back turned towards her during his mid spin. Using Force Speed she shuffled to one side and thrust out a Force Push into his knee, on his leg which supported his weight.

Most people would find their knee buckle under them. But she already knows he is not like most people. She thought it might be helpful for her to gain the element of surprise by attempting to Cloak her Force Presence as she disengaged the Lightsaber he had granted her to use. If there ever was a time to meditate, it would benefit Tempest now. ’Be the sand..’ Tempest attempted to disappear from his keen perception of Force Sight. If anything, her plan would at least be unique.

He could feel sher moving in the force and the jedi master allowed himself to move, twisting and in the area he was went with his momentum and reach as she ducked under. Using his speed to propel himself up into the air as she worked to conceal herself in the force and from his sight. A smart move but there was more to the him then just the force as he had her scent. Twisting in the air and coming down as the missed grab became a slam. Fist smacking the ground with a force shockwave going outwards to send ripples across the ground. Trip up anything around him that wasn't flying or hovering for the moment. THen he was moving with a slash to test and prod at her defensive stance.

Tempest is as quick as she is lightweight. She would however much rather train with droids and learn to tighten her form in this manner, than crazy old Jedi Masters like [member="Syn"] . Tempest remained focussed on him. She played with her new skill Force Sight and found it helpful to aid anticipation of his moves, as the Force reached outward and had a direction, in order to make manifest the Jedi’s Will.

Her sight heightened, she saw the repulse initiate while he was still in mid air, long before the first stone to trembled under his feet. Tempest sprung into the air. As she landed, she never stopped moving to evade him.

As the Master moved to lash out with his Lightsaber, Tempest ignited her blade and clashed with his. She immediately inverted her wrist to accelerate the trail of his blade’s momentum and thrust his blade out of her way. Then again, she darted away from him.

She was moving with skill, her power and strength were well leaving a lot to be desired but she was learning a core skill here. When in doubt.... tactically evade rather then just stand there. The jedi master was moving as he paused for a moment focusing the force energies to the air so he could kick off and flip backwards. He was tracking her sent when she darted past him. The sabers able to keep clashing until he twirled in the air and touched down crouched with a blade in both hands. He was rotating them around himself. "You are doing good my padawan, the robes are helping yes?" He asked it with an idea before reaching out with his saber at the ready until he was slashing quickly to get her back to practicing her soresu stance and her gaurd."

Tempest serpentined as she circled her Master again and again, in hopes to keep him in the center of the large ring, and so she would not be cornered.

Seeing Master [member="Syn"] flip and change his trajectory, she knew she too could learn to be so precise in such tricks. He asked her how she likes her new robes and she smiled. She loves them. But instead of give herself away, she merely hummed everso bluntly in reply, to voice her affirmation.

She skipped around her Master and swung at his lightsabers as she made her way around him. Tempest would appear to be only dancing as she made her way, and clashing her blade to his to a beat inside her head, which matched her shuffling feet. She looked like a girl having fun, and playing a game of keep away, or monkey in the middle. Every once in a while, she would try to be quick enough to pass under his legs.

She didn't want to speak and say where she was while moving. smart and rising to the challenge as he danced wirth her. Moving on his feet lightly even for one his size. The jedi master could follow her scent when he looked deeper tinto the force to find the absence of her presence. Where she was making a void to conceal herself. A smart girl... but then she had learned from jedi most of her life for good or ill she spent time with them and her parents. He flashed back to his own children and Abigael had run off after Iella and basically denounced everything about family in favor of a new one she could feel special with. It was terrible but he had to respect and hope she would well grow up in time.

His son on the other hand had become talented and skilled in many of the same aspects that the jedi master was allowing here. He moved to catch up with her where he could. Pushing her to her limits as he knew how to pace himself and keep going beyond his own limits. The jedi master watched though through the force as he switched his blade and used his speed to making his slashes more and more to cover an area around him so he could have large arcs and sweeps going at areas she would be dodging and coming at him or getting away from him. "You are doing good padawan, allow the force to strength you and push your body beyond its limits."

There is seeing the Force, and now her instincts tuning in. Tempest felt this strange tug, never before as strong as it is now. Surrender, it asked her for. She sensed its pull on her. Unlike before however, she did not find it to be utmost frightening. Maybe that is because she is in this place, or this particular part of it at least, smothered in the Light of the Force.

At first she just ignored the sensation, this time like all others before, unsure of what will happen. Tempest heeded her Master’s advice. She watched as the Force rested over him raw, and it took shape as it flowed from him. If only she could learn to read it.

Tempest felt the tug now like a wave washing over her and consciously decided to allow her mind to slip, slip into the desire of the whispering lure. Consciousness, one with the Will of the Light, Tempest stepped in towards her Master now, and she instinctively reacted to deflect the swings of his Lightsaber. He got faster and more powerful, and she torqued her body to parry his blade around her.

She found it, amazingly, an interesting state of peacefulness in which to dwell. Her motion, like her Master's was fluent, unbroken, decided, most of all, unbelievably instinctual, she found. Tempest was in awe of it

She was moving and using the force... her presence changing within it before the jedi master was moving as she got in closer and closer. Something that could be seen here though. "Better." He moved to stand still, changing from juyo movements to djem so.. His body becoming stationary and conserving the energy but he had a defensive form that could brutalize when done correctly. The force flowing into his limbs as he watched bringign the blade up and repulsing to get her backwards just enough. "But you are slipping, Soresu is about defense not attack. You move and direct your opponent to better control the flow of a battle. To make them use their energy so that you can outlast them."

”Attacking?” Tempest went with the flow and allowed herself to be carried back with the force, away from Master @Syn. She giggled at him. So far she had only diverted his swipes at her. ”Which of us is it you believe is doing the attacking?”

She placed a hand over her sash tied about her waist and chose to reach in and withdraw one of her lightsabers tucked away there. This one just felt good in her hands. But her weights are now uneven. Tempest disengaged the Lightsaber her Master lent her and offered it back to him. She wanted to use both of her own instead.

”Come Jar’Kai Master. Let me work on my focus and speed?” She ignited her second lightsaber and striking an official opening pose, added, ”Pleeeeeeeease!!” with a big smile on her face.

He was looking at her when she spoke and there was a grin on his face. Standing there as he took his lightsaber into his hand and he ignited the blade. Eyes on her before the jedi master crossed his arms over his chest. Being able to feel the force around them but they were wanting to check it out. "Very well then, we can practice with both blades but then we are going to meditate." He stood there though watching her while the blades twirled, the humming of them until he moved with the blades in a slash going move like a train. His movements to send the sabers to the sides to make a strike series instead of just slashing while she dodged. He was guessing which way she might go but wrapped blue energy around his hands in tutaminis to catch her blade if she stayed and went after him.

At first Tempest froze when he mentioned meditation. Her mouth dropped open, and she felt mortification. She might see her father again, and open up all those old wounds, like happened on the ship. How can she be sure Master [member="Syn"] isn't going to touch upon her mind again and make her face stuff long buried?!

She stammered. ”I haven't achieved a successful meditation in months, until only hours ago back on my ship. I think I’m all caught up now.” Tempest feared what additional information she might learn about her past. Must she really gain back her memories all at once? Is that really healthy?!

Tempest stood her ground now and tried to regain the amount of focus she had just moments earlier before Master Syn had broke the silence. She met his blades but quickly found herself falling behind as her Master increased his speed. She could not focus like before. Perhaps had he not mentioned meditation, she would have faired far better. She simply could not get her thoughts off that future task and into what is happening now.

She had managed to get shaken up at that mention and he had a curious moment to think about it. Moving with the force and he pulled the sabers back to his hands... where the jedi master moved around to stand in front of her and look down. "You have time Tempest, your skills are returning, you memories... your thoughts. THey can come as you want them to, under your own control or they could coe when you don't want them and distract you. It is your choice but after this we do have to calm down. Excitement and emotions can be dangerous if there is a lack of control." He said it while preparing to move around and slip behind her. To grab and stop the practice match while he spoke. "Besides, you have been doing well. THat does earn a cookie or something sweet."

The Jedi Master stopped the match abruptly. Tempest felt a strong conviction wash over her as he spoke. Her Master always says the truth about things, especially those which she is not prepared to hear. She did not even hear his praises. She looked down at the ground and nodded compliance while she nonchalantly twirled the ball of her foot into the sand, uncovering another small crystal hidden just beneath the surface. She realized her lightsabers still in her hands, and wrapped them up inside her sash once again.

”Let it be as you think best, Master [member="Syn"],” she relented, but all the excitement has washed out of her voice. Maybe there isn't anything to worry about afterall. How could the Light of the Force really bring about anything bad? If anything, she might just catch a cat nap while her Master does his internal reflecting. That could not be so terrible…and maybe he would not catch on.

In the distance the sand reflected the full sun, and it burned into her eyes, causing a kaleidoscope of colors to flash before her vision, transforming the skyline to depict a myriad of ghostly figures. No cookie could quell her sudden fears.

He looked up and spoke standing behind her as she seemed defeated almost he put his sabers back and lifted her up. Onto his shoulders to sit like she was a small child yes but it was also because he could feel what was there around them. "Don't worry about them." He could feel it, hear it, even smell it. Fear had a sound, a scent and so much more if you knew how to listen. "Old ghosts here can't do much, they are just attracted to the use of the force but it is an echo," He was walking and patted her ankle. "You have done well, so I won't mention some of the problems but..." He kept walking up into the mountains on the opposite side of the valley and a section was overlooking everything. A small meditation garden that had been made with droids for bringing food and equipment if they needed it. He was looking over to let her down and sat with his legs crossed while he looked out upon the valley.

Tempest felt frozen in her stance, even as her Master spoke to her. When he hoisted her upon his shoulder she squealed sharply, unsuspecting of his intentions. He carried her off to an amazing spot, and put her back on her feet again. As her Master sat himself, she had her eyes fixed upon the visitors who seemed more real than merely an echo as he had described them.

”What problems Master?” She thought he was referencing the spirits trapped here.

The shapes beaming among the boarder of the light, began shifting and weaving. Tempest rubbed her eyes and stared out at it again. It seemed to Tempest the light was approaching them. ’Fear... Fear begets darkness. Darkness is the enemy,’ she heard whisper in the wind.

The light took form of an ancient soul of a Jedi Master long snuffed out, and like Master [member="Syn"] , it too towered over the Padawan. Not possessing a clue what it wanted, Tempest baulked straight towards her Master!

The spirit berated her for her action.

The jedi master was looking at the spirit that had arrived and he moved standing quickly and in front of Tempest as the spirit seemed to be sceaming at her. His hand coming out as he spoke. "ENough." Staying there though as it looked at him.... a glimmer in the force and he reached back to hold her close. Tempest ddind't need to see it until he focused the force energies to strike and attack at it. The spirit was moving back now and the jedi master watched it. Feeling something from it and then it was going deeper while he reached out, reached along that cord in the force to try and see what was making it restless. "I see." He said it and was moving back as he started to lead Tempest. "We have work to do in the valley."

Tempest knew her Master wanted to meditate and she felt badly that the spiritual intrusion stole his intentions away from him. She sighed as he decided to move on, away from the spot he had chosen. She wanted to tell him if he wants to stay, she will be alright, but in all honesty she is not certain that she will be! This is the first time meeting what her Master called an echo, and would be the first time she felt an echo would seem to come to life and interact with her. She felt a bit unnerved by the whole occurrence, as she did not understand it one bit.

She followed her Master as he walked away from the meditation plateau, grabbing two water pouches from the self-serve station set up there by the vendors, and slinging them both over her shoulder. The whole time she walked, Tempest remained on the lookout for apparitions, a tad too intensely. So much she almost took a solid tumble as she stumbled over the rocks, not paying attention to her footing.
