He could feel her mind, her memories as something was shifting and then they were there. The force pulling back but she seemed to have a look on her face that he could sense more then what was there. The sound of the chrono that they had arrived when he stood over her and gave a nod of his head. There was something... an understanding.. a bridge that had been crossed where the two of them might not know where it is going or what it really did but there it was before them. He offered a hand to her. "We should head back, force knows what they have been doing with use away." He did offer a smirk though. "Also you should wear something to cover up, don't want others to get ideas in their mind about me making you dress as I do padawan." He was indicating the shirtless outfit but he had armored pants that few could really hope to match and they would only get stronger for him with age.... and he would still be around for a long time. As the jedi maste rmoved towards the cockpit he reached out for the jedi ships around Ruusan and could feel them as they started giving them an escort towards the city of Vatsu, built by the jedi for refugees and the ones who needed help in the galaxy.

As Master Syn went to the cockpit, Tempest moved over to her armoire and opened it. She wondered how it was her kidnappers made her forget what they did. All those conversations about honor, reputation, and her right of succession. All the lies.

So much continued to run through her mind, memories once inspired a remarkable feeling of family, now so incredibly tainted. She determined she would never look back. There is nothing there that she wants. Whatever is in store lay ahead of her. She does not know for certain where she is headed, but she knows for a time who she can choose to follow. ‘Had Master [member="Syn"] said he spent 900 years pondering family regrets?’ She figured it highly likely a figure of speech, a strange one, but nothing more, unless... ‘Could people really live that long? And what was it about a Sith Spawn?’ So many questions left unanswered, but time enough to ask them. Master Syn might not know how to treat a lady, tossing her into mud pits and destroying all her hard work spent on her appearance, but he is devoted; she will give him that. Something special happened just moments before, not all of it pretty, nor understood, but it happened and it strengthened her ties and her conviction to Master Syn and the Order. Tempest felt honor in it all.

Tempest handed a small tin box to the father of the family. “Help everyone get situated, and find lodging, and the rest is for your family and the little tykes education.” The tin is filled with credits.

Tempest returned to the cockpit and sat down across from the Jedi Master. She was in her Jedi robes which he had given to her the previous season. “I don't want to hear it. Whatever you are thinking, its not going to be funny, ever, nor had it ever been. Just thought you might need to know that upfront. And, let my words echo in the future, any and every time you think you got something funny to state.” She knew their relationship might never be the same after what they exchanged, but thought it best to try and at least seem like nothing has changed between them. A subtle look of acceptance cast across her face. Maybe a true family does exist for young Tempest afterall.

The teen girls among the refugees had recently been invited to choose among her dresses, whichever and however many they liked. They came rushing forward, smiling, and thanking her. Tempest smiled in return. She knew full well, baubles and beads cannot replace loss, and their crossroads are about to be faced.

“Where to next, Master?”
Tempest would leave her ship secured in the Spaceport if he decided on taking his own. She had done enough fooling around, gaining herself nothing for a lifetime, and felt an alien determination to get to studying about the Force.

He didn't say anything just sitting there but the scent changed... his head turning while he finished up. Being led down to the planet and the port as she spoke. "Now we go to Vatsu, it s not much int he way of elegance but it more then makes up for that with purpose. Made by the jedi to help people and act as a safe haven thanks to shielding and its location near the valley fo the jedi. They also grow food and make clothing or offer jobs across the planet to recultivate it." He stood up though just looking down at her and mussed her hair with one hand. Feeling it and more or less to drive her a little crazy. A friendly gesture when he was walking and opening the door.

Thee sound sof the jedi working around as they stayed around with some of the people. A few looking over but they never stopped. Curious onlookers approaching to refuel the ship and refill it with supplies where needed. If they were landing here then they had to have missing food or disposable amenities after all... or the rare trade goods. Sometimes he knew they gladly did it to help process and get refugees taken in and fed before having to ask them painful questions. So the jedi master stood at the top of the ramp looking down with a nod of his head that he and Tempest were doing a job well done at least in terms of not destroying things.

He could measure success with that while leaving plenty of room for Tempest to come and join him. Walking through the pre-fab city with its white buildings and warehouses that served to hold food or supplies. The different walkways that led to any number of things for the people here and was where the jedi could spend their stipend to keep funding the operations of the city. "It is not much but I sent a request ahead with the force for you. The artisan's have been working on something and it should make you a little happy. I know learning about the past can be difficult if it involves soemthing you are so sure about."

As [member="Syn"] tousled her hair, she thought maybe she will just leave it this way; it could be her new thing, an affirmation of her new lifestyle. Then she rose after her Master to follow him out of her ship, and she saw her reflection in the polished steel erected over her hatch. Tempest batted her hair with lightning quick slaps and was satisfied. So quick so she hoped Syn did not take notice. She stood beside him as the refugees disembarked one by one. Her little friend the Force Sensitive was the very last. She knelt down and asked him, “Do you know about the Jedi?” His face lit up as he stated that he does. “You see those children over there, and you make friends with them,” Tempest said pointing to the Jedi younglings. She has a feeling, her new acquaintance will soon be found doing great things.

The Jedi Master lead her about the city, as if he had a purpose there, any of which she did not know of. But it seemed this might be a system she would find herself coming to often for its prime location. “It is good to finally learn about life outside of the Temples!” Tempest had only seen Voss before, and it had become overtaken. This place is very different however. It is not a holy place of learning. Its bustling with Jedi and their allies. She thought it a fabulous opportunity to witness people of foreign cultures who happen to be visiting.

Master Syn's offer of a gift, even one given under the announcement of such a sentiment, well Tempest just did not know what to say. If it is some joke however, that would be more of what she expects from him based on their past exchanges. To Master Syn, fun is a mid pit. A gift might simply be a lesson. She might be young, but she inwardly suspected he would lead his dates into a mud pit. She did not know much about men honestly, but they are peculiar beasts.

“I’m fine, Master.”
Honestly, she is not quite so as of yet, but she will be. Only time will tell. “Thank you for the gesture.”

He gave a bow of his head and entered a building for the two of them. Bolts of fabric on the walls in many different colors, artisan's who were working looms and making dresses, robesl, clothing for just about anything a jedi could need from roughspun cloth that could be used in fields and made to get dirty. Or fancy clothing for formal sessions and parties that jedi needed to attend. There was one standing there as she looked over at the two of them. "Master Syn, welcome to my tailors and this must be the one you told us about in your message." She seemed to stress that and well a force projection with a one way conversation wasn't the greatest way to do it but she had seemed ot manage bringing it out. Starkly white robes that were sewn with script in aurobesh. "We made them as you requested, white and almost fully brandless. I indulged and the self cleaning features are there. Nanites that will keep the boots, hat, cloak and body clean as well as adjust it for her growth into an adult. One of our finest works and it will still give her quite a boon of protection I might add."

Tempest entered after her Master. It was a fabric paradise, unlike any weave she had ever seen, superior quality. When she heard the tailor speak of the durabilities, Tempest was amazed.

“All this is available to the Order?”
She imagined royalty would have such fine cloth as this.

She found herself the topic of discussion, only she did not know what the discussion to actually be about. As the presentation of the articles were made, the Padawan finally understood the gesture. This is her Master’s gift to her which he mentioned. It isn't some joke, or a trial. She looked up at him and gave him a broad smile.

“Thank you,”
she said graciously, then she dashed for the dressing room.

Tempest loved the sheer feel of it. “Boots?! A hat?! Sash!” She is in a Padawan learner’s utopia. She came out and the tailor searched for something to fuss over, and was pleased to find nothing out of order. It fit perfectly. Tempest thought it quite stunning. It had a sheen of Teal throughout, when it caught the light.

The tailor explained its functions, to which the attentive Tempest nodded repeatedly. She couldn't believe it could be impervious to staining, as it felt like it breathed.

Then the thought hit her and she felt a need to lay down a ground rule, “You are still not getting me into any mud pits.”

Overhearing, the tailor gasped! “No girls in mud pits! And that's NOT gentlemanly!” Tempest snickered at the remark, loving the moral support she received.

“Oh he is a fur boot killer,”
she added, holding up her old boots for the tailor to see their eternal dinginess.

The tailor snatched them up and declared, “No respect! No worries, I can fix this. You come back, two hours.”

Tempest sincerely thanked them both again. She would have to remember this place in the future!

Something tells me I have made a grave miscalculation. The jedi master thought it as he was listenign to them bond and he wasn't not exactly ceetain about it but with her liking the outfit that was more then enough for him. Standing there and crossing his arms over his chest when they finally finished. "No mud pits are planned for today at least." There he would at least try and make it easier while thanking her and turning around. "WHenever you are ready Tempest." He said it but she was happy and excited about her outfit... a real chance to work with it before they were heading off towards the door. he was heading out into the city and there was a small area near one of the temples. Grass that had been cared for, trees and a meditation area that padawans could practice with muunteer stones for telekinesis, training droids in a small circle. "I am glad that you like it padawan."

“When I come back later, it will be for shopping!”
she told the tailor. She had practically nothing to wear after she assisted the refugee girls. The tailor looked at her with scrutiny again. Tempest reached into her hip purse and prepaid for her items. The tailor exclaimed, ‘Now for this I certainly can accommodate!’

She looked at her Master and determined that familiar look on his face, as had other men she had known. “Don't worry, Master @Syn. I won't hold it against you, if you decide its not to your liking to tag along.” To relieve a man from obligation of participating in girly things, is the best way of truly thanking him for his kindness. As the tailor turned and bustled about gathering items for the sale, Master Syn saw their opportunity to make their departure and told her to go whenever she is ready. She hurriedly rushed up to her Master and hugged him, before shyly dashing directly out the door, so quickly in hopes to not allow Syn a moment to even make a move to respond to her actions.

Tempest followed wherever he chose to lead. She watched as people she did not know parted from their path, some looking twice. It was obvious that Master Syn did not know them all either. “If you don't mind my asking, Master, what is it like…how you perceive the world around you? Do you sense the location of people? Do you perceive what they each feel, or think? Do you have the choice to ever just tune them all out?”

When they walked along the end of a path, the trees all at once dropped out of view. They stood at the top of the hillside, and there at the bottom of the slope was hidden an ancient Temple. They followed the stepping stones down to the courtyard, and Tempest, feeling comfortable with him, she would ask him further questions.

'What happened to his sight?' She did not have any past experience with alien races to know about his disposition.

About the vision of his past which they shared she asked, 'what is the significance of the mention of Sith Spawn?'

Concerning the agenda relating to conquering the Jedi from within, which she learned about through their shared visions, she kept silent about that. She felt his presence during that vision and understood the insignificance of that occurrence in his past to his life choices today. He overcame himself, and she felt the Light among his presence. After he would define Sith Spawn, deep inside she worried how he might have truly surpassed the agenda of being a creation infused with the Darkside. Being yet so young, she did not yet possess the experience or understanding to comprehend the extent of his age, and how much positive growth one is able to achieve with time.

He was walking with her and listening to her questions the jedi master had a few answers.. he didn't know if she would accept all of them but he at least had something of an idea. "I see the world through the force. Everything that is touched by it is unique and radiates its own presence. Which makes it easier to distinguish one among many. It is a trick the miraluka taught me but my senses are also very keen and sharp. I can track your scent, hear most species heartbeats and the blood in their veins. It makes hearing deception easier but also learning other things." He left off a few things and explainng to her about Elayne and the dathomiri witches... or Minerva and the Hapen ducha.... or Domino and her twisted sense of humor.... Oh damn.

Sitting though the jedi master made a space for her. "But I can tune others out, I have spent many years learning to focus and adjust my senses as it were. SOme things won't bother me as much as they used to." And being around the jedi or many different people in general had nearly made him immune to the dangers of their personal preferences. THe jedi master could handle any number of things. "Nine hundred years Tempest you will find can do a great many things to a mind and body. It can temper and strengthen you if you let it or drive you to the brink of madness." he said it with a small smirk on his face though remaining there. "And to answer your question. I was made this way... my father if you want to call him that was a cruel man... a dangerous man. Twisted and evil but my mother was pure for the most part."

He recalled her a little but remained there. "She wanted to give me a choice but the sith had other plans for such a creation. So they stole me away after killing her and for the most part. I agreed with them, there are dangerous beings, there are corrupt beings, people who need to be under some sort of control." He tried to say it in a way but he had always believed it... just the manner of control was the propblem. "Criminals, thieves, rapists... all of them are wicked.. and tey wanted to end that. Well temper and control that while slapping their name on it but in the end they killed my mother and no matter how much I agreed with them. No matter how much I might think they were right... such a thing just couldn't be forgotten or forgiven. So I killed them... one by one and waged war on the jedi."

He stayed there. "Until I was dcaptured and taken, sentenced to a life in a cell aboard a ship no one else would ever know the name of. At first I was angry but then someone came, each day asking questions or just sitting there they came. Never rising to the ait but also never judging and it helped me as it were... slowly I began to see a different way of thinking and was happy to be visited by her.. and then her child and then her grandchild. For years without fail until I joined the jedi, the sith I knew that I had served and killed were long dead. Dust and ash... the jeid had a purpose and I could help. I could remember a great deal and serve to remind the dangers of the darkside and how powerful it can be. So I have watched and waited and remembered time passing others by and when I sat with her, when I sat with her daughter and granddaughter they regretted nothing."

He said so much. She appreciated every uttered word. She could have said, NINE…HUNDRED years?” Then have given him a look that read as, ‘Are you seriously shitting me?!’ Then she could have added, “HOLY…CRAP, Master Syn! I mean you oughta have been like crowned King of the Universe by now. But here you are teaching kids how to raise pebbles into the air and punch out giant worms in mud holes. I have only been alive fourteen years and I cannot believe some of the crap I have already learned about people. How do you stand it? I mean, don't get me wrong, I only just learned it all happened to me just hours ago, but I have about had about enough. You lived like…erm…64 times my age so far. I am trying to imagine how that feels, and I was just wondering how can it possibly suck anymore than it does for me?” However, Tempest did not say aloud any of what she was thinking, for she was far too flabbergasted by his stated facts. Instead all she managed was, “Uh…” and she choked on her words. She felt Master Syn already a peculiar being to start with. Now all this too?! “Wow.”

Maybe she liked life better, before the weird Force mind meld thing happened. She assumed that after nine hundred years, he probably should know his own strength! How could he be a nine hundred year old Jedi Master and not have done that on purpose? She would not have had many questions to ask him, had that whole incident not occurred. She would have kept her mouth shut, because nothing much would have been on her mind. Stayed in her own little world, tucked inside a perfectly happy childhood, frilly girly dresses, and money. Her discovery during the freak mind meld thing really was just as bad as Syn's whole fighting giant mutant worms in a mud hole event that he also made happen, but just different things/items involved in the event, in this sense her entire history as she believed it to have represented, warped.

She knew better than to say things like, “Immortality is great and all, but at some point so is death!” She did not say that to him either. She did say, “Aww! What an adorable kitten!” as one of the refugees children passed by with their new pet. She could have been saying to Master Syn, "I'm sorry, did you say something?" =]~

He looked at her and she seemed to be taking it in stride while he sat there... she was sitting and then seemed suprrised... thoughts racing in her mind as he could fel it there. Like a buzzing sound that would be dangerous untilt he jedi master waited for just a moment. Seeing some of them pass by and offer bows. he looked young but few within the order didn't know that the blind and shirtless jedi was a master. The scars covering his chest were small and faded with time but it would serve to remind him of the dangerous nature. He waited until Tempest was distracted a little before tapping her shoulder to push her over. "You seem curious about many things padawan. We shall just have to see but never hesitate to ask questions of me. I have a great deal of knowledge and prefer to share it over just remaining silent."

Talking to Master [member="Syn"] since he found her on Ession, Tempest discovered him to be quite the deep thinker. She learned more about him in the past few hours, (as much as she has about herself,) than she had learned about him all those months before on Voss, (or of herself, during her entire lifetime.) She wondered why this is. She pondered that maybe he just loses his head when he is teaching. He always portrayed this little boy attitude then, like the type that love to scare little girls with horny toads, or dirty them with flinging mud pies. She hasn't seen that familiar side of him yet since their meeting. She shuddered, knowing its got to be still in there, lurking to get out anytime too soon! Worse, she understands it, for after living nine hundred years, a man's got to have a solid emotional outlet.

He goaded her to speak and she sat back up, facing him squarely on. “Well there is no real way to put it kindly. This morning you were only a young man, who possibly suffered a terrible accident which resulted in his lost sight. Now in the course of an hour, my entire history is changed, and my perception of you has changed too. What possibly could be next? I don’t know, but there is going to be something, alot of somethings occurring to me up until the moment I die. Were I like you, if my every day of nine hundred years were just like today, I suppose I should rather die! I cannot imagine living so long day by day in liken anguish.”

Tempest patted her knees and watched in astonishment as a stain vanished from her cloth. She cocked her head and looked back at her Master. “I won’t live long enough to be able to ask you enough which could give your experience justice. But it’s like you just said, one can allow life’s circumstance to make or break them. Hence, on the bright side, there are adorable kittens, and awesome fabric robes.” She nodded matter-of-factly. “There is you. Hopefully next on that delightful but short list will be lunch…but by my experience with base cantinas, finding it delectable will be a long shot.”

he had a look at her and gave a nod of her head to that. "It is different but I was born without sight such as yours so... I am not certain about a few things but." He sat there and continued to meditate. "I can tell you this... this city has plenty of places to eat and the food is prepared by people who want to cook." He didn't mention that they had some jedi who liked to cook so they made things better then ration packs... which was helpful. A look though at her as she seemed to be enjoying herself. "But you are not getting a cat, my ship is many things but it isn't made to have small creatures on it." He had the Alema well it wasn't always around... problem with a sentient ship that had the spirit of a padawan he had failed to save... she had her own ideas about what she could and couldn't do... and the ability to jump to hyperspace if she wanted to storm out when they were having a conversation. "We'll get some food and can go exploring or training. Don't want to endanger you."

Tempest's eyes lit up as Master [member="Syn"] mentioned the quality of the cuisine around the base. “After nine hundred years, I suppose I should trust your opinion on the delectability or not of food. I suppose you simply must have developed a desire for variety! She was ready to go and she stood. She tried to jokingly pretend not to be too eager, by looking all around, such as up at the trees, the Temple, because he was clearly relaxing and she did not want to rush him.

“I was not asking you for a cat, but will the let downs never end?” She announced quite assuredly, “I very well could have a cat. I’ve my own ship…or if I lived on Base. Only I do not want one…as of yet. I could be on the precipice of a terrible streak of bad joss, and sadly my pet would be forced to suffer right along with me.” Tempest did not honestly believe in luck, as Jedi know how to make life happen. Its just a manner of speaking that she picked up from the local non-force users she had stayed with back on Ession.

He mentioned exploring or training; and then what? “Endanger me? How so?”

SO many more questions and he rose up, looking more boneless in his movements but there was an attention to it. He was reaching out and feeling the force as some of the large jotun were in the valley walking past it. He was looking down at her as she spoke though. "Yes you have your own ship but if you are out all of the time who is going to feed it?" He said it but was starting to walk now as they could head into one fo the buildings. THe smell of food being cooked while the different beings were in the kitchen. Food and drinks were being served from out fo the kitchen when he moved towards a seat in the corner and back.

The jedi master sat down after one of the droids came and scanned the two of them, biometrics acknowledging that they were around as some food was being brought out for the two of them. Bread with stew, the scent of bacon as well as baked potato's. Skewered meats that were cooked with veggies before it was all being laid out. he didn't have to order. [member="Wu Yeoh"] had trained many of the cooks to know what they needed to make for a person or group. THe jedi master usually just got to eat the food before the jedi master turned his attention to Tempest letting her sit down with him. WHile he brought up some fo tbhe food.

“I could have a droid to feed my cat, that is if I wanted a cat at all. There is always a way!”. Tempest is sure of this, as much as she is sure of herself. It had been her rearing. Regardless of her recent discovery, her personality isn't just going to change overnight. She is quite head strong.

The irony she felt, when a droid of all things scanned her and her Master, and then brought out food to them. She knew her idea was a good one that her Master could not refute. She only giggled when she watched her Master as he looked across the table at her. She believed him observant enough that he could just know what she is thinking!

Tempest inhaled deeply before partaking among the vegetables, meat and gravy. She wasn't one to consider foods of little sustenance like breads or sweets. She would not walk away from this table hungry for anything. “So I guess all this is grown and raised through the co-op? It is nice to see some choices which originated among cultures familiar to me.” Anything wholesome which she had never experienced before, she tried.

After she had enough, she sat quietly and waited for Master [member="Syn"] to continue to eat to his fill. The instant she figured him finished, she bounced up and down in her seat and eagerly inquired, “So what you gonna teach me now?!”

He finished eating the food where he was. Seeing what the padawan had been able to do when she finished. Talking about it and he wasn't going to argue about it until she gave a nod of his head. "Very wellt hen, we will do your first lesson." He said it with a look on his face of excitement.. there was some nice ideas about what the two fo them might be able to do. He rose up from the seat as he used a napkin to make sure he was clean. he moved around the table and she was bouncing up and down excited at the prospect of a lesson. "Well then, you have new clothing, you have eaten, you are all ready for a lesson." THe grin was on his face though crossing his arms.

"Lets go to the valley of the jedi. We'll brave the dangers of the north passage to test your skills." Several of them, everything that they might be able to do while he turned around. "You have training sabers correct? Or did you end up making your own blades Tempest?" Curious about it while walking outside he continued to go and came to a gate of Vatsu with a nod of his head. Removing the sash to trade it in for a smaller one that was designed for him to use. Secured and ready while there were some Luka Sene around them. THe miraluka remained off to the side opening the doors for himm to go in and they could get her some crystals.

Tempest's eyes lit up with delight and she squealed bluntly as she scooted off her chair to catch up to Master [member="Syn"] ’s side as he made his way towards the establishment’s exit.

Just outside, she skipped momentarily, then caught herself at it and stopped. He had asked about her lightsabers. “I’ve two. Not training sabers. I was told one belonged to my real father, and the other…” The thought hit her that she could have around her waste the very same lightsaber that was used to kill her father. “How shall I determine which belonged to who? Are there are signs in the design?” She planned she might like to sell or destroy the lightsaber that had belonged to her kidnapper.

Tempest felt the power of the Force emanating in the area. She paused in her steps, drinking it in. “Its quite phenomenal, I feel. How does it look?” She wondered how her Master actually saw this Force. Then she saw a gate which the Jedi Master held open for her to pass through. Clearly on the other side she would be hit with a vortex of this power. She heard tales about the place, but never thought she would ever be able to go here!

He was thinking about her question about a way she would be able to tell the difference betwen the sabers. Stopping for a moment when he looked out upon the edge of the valley itself. He crouched down watching the valley as they looked over at it. Taking a moment to raise his hand. "You'll know when it comes to your sabers, there is a feeling that the force will alert you to. The past of the object, who touched it, the ancient warmth." He was waching her and he didn't know the details of which blade was her fathers or her kidnappers, she didn't know either. It would mean they were guessing so meditate upon it and go from there....

But there was more. He was looking at her and his hand touched her temple for a moment. "What I see." He reached out with the force to share his vision and let her see the force itself. Even with her own vision of the force. he slipped the sight skills to her so with focus she could see it. The lightside of the force coming from the valley itself that was a massive almost blinding light throughout it. Where he was looking though he could see the shape and outline of the way leading into the valley. Wrapping around the area as the jedi master had a bigger look on his face. "It is not easy but it is like a bright beacon across the galaxy."

Its history made it sound like a frightening place, where the living get lost among the dead and swallowed up by loneliness of the vast canyon, if one allows the Force to cause them to lose touch with their potential. Sometimes seeing yourself as honest as the Force sees you, can indeed cause the most pious to falter and thus self destruct. But for Tempest, this place felt welcoming, like it was raw power that offered itself to her moulding…as of right now, it felt this way.

Her Master knelt down by her side as he often did, and he showed her what she desired to learn. Like she taught the little refugee boy how to levitate the coin on his own, so did Master [member="Syn"] pass on the sensation Tempest needed to reach for within her mind, in order to successfully see the Force around her.

She closed her eyes and focussed on the instructions that he was relaying to her. It did not take but a moment before she could see the light of the Force. It was more amazing than she imagined. It breathed, weaved and ebbed as she expected would of Life itself. Tempest stood there on the precipice of this Nexus. The intense brightness off in the distance should have been utterly painfully blinding, but it did not hurt her head at all. She noticed immediately how her Master glowed with it.

Tempest concentrated on this new skill without relenting, until she shall be able to recall the method of utilization of Force Sight instinctively.

“Thank you for showing me this,” she said. The path seemed inviting. Difficult or not, there are lesson beckoning them to explore there.
