"Oooh!" The emerald eyes shone brighter at the mention of the layers to explore. "I'll have to pop back and do some running around! All sorts of fun stuff to find I bet!" She was wiggling in her seat at the prospect when the mention of age came back.

"I think I was the youngest of the batch too." She popped another sweet into her mouth. "Gulag Plague?" Her eyes wandered off to the side for a moment, trying to think of the Gulag Plague as Chassella began speaking about the two being famous. But stopped at why.

Which garnered her attention and a blank stare.

"Umm..,I know the Empress is well...the Empress of the Eternal Empire. She's...famous for, that? Schez maybe, because...uh...a cheese business?." There was a few pauses as she collected her thoughts, and more than once she made a far reaching answer. There was an uncertain turn of her head while her eyes narrowed.

"Is that, not it?"

For once, Chassella paused, if only for a moment as she contemplated how or if she would tell Felmorante why her two idols were so famous. Blinking, the Elzeri took a large bite of her donut, using it as a convenient excuse to not talk as she did. Her thoughts wandered to the lightsabers hidden on her thighs, wondering if showing the girl her weapons might help, though the idea was quickly abandoned.

Ultimately, Chassella decided against telling Felmorante directly.

“Well, the Empress being well...the Empress, is partially correct.” The Elzeri began. “I guess you could say the same for Scherezade and her...cheese business. Wait, does she even have a cheese business? I know she has a business, but I’m not sure if it’s cheese.”

Chassella frowned.

“You know, I think for now, it’s best that we leave it all a mystery.” She resolved. “I think the Empress will...let you know when you’re ready.” The Elzeri added, before pat pat patting her new friend on the top of her head in an innocent, sisterly fashion.

“So, umm...do you have any hobbies?” She asked, after a brief moment of awkward silence.

"Iokath, yes. I’ve always found the stories about the original Eternal Empire and its culture fascinating. Vitiate, or Valkorion, built a much larger thing here than in the old Sith Empire. It is unfortunate that he only wanted to use such a special culture to exterminate the entire galaxy for his own immortality. However I know Iokath with their droid gods, the superweapons… is much more older planet than the original Eternal Empire."

The woman's aunt told her a lot about it, and Ingrid read about it after they came to the Unknown Region. Then, shortly after Adrian’s death, the woman and Adron Malvern Adron Malvern found a Vitiate vault on Zakuul. The Sith Lord took a scroll with him, and the woman handed everything over to the Zakuul government and people. There was nothing in it that she could use to bring Adrian back. And a hidden scroll remained there, it was taken away by Dis Dis . And she was unaware that the man she was talking to lived at that age, she only knew a person who does, Ardana Vorco Ardana Vorco .

"The core worlds are dangerous at the moment because of war, as is the Sith area. I gladly accept your help, Mr. Aiglos. Based on your words, I conclude that you were born in Zakuul, didn’t you?"

Meanwhile, she also watched Frank, who brought up the very painful subject again. Mr. Sibo seemed to have coloured the story a lot, Adrian didn't know Ingrid was on the planet because the woman intended it as a surprise.

"Thank you! And I am glad to hear that you have become part of the Eternal Empire, even if only through Hades Corp.."

The better mood was easy to say, but it wasn’t easy to do…

Aiglos freezes. Everyone around would notice is as well. He was never apt in nor saw the need of learning how to hide his aura, a cowards skill if you would ask him. Usually the Force sensitives in his presence would feel a blizzard when touching him, a storm of ice and snow with a calm eye in the center. Now this was raging further and even the non-force-sensitives could feel something disturbingly cold running down their spines.

Aiglos blinks. Except, that he cannot, his face is not able to display this feature anymore. It doesn't help. On a nearby tray the glasses are destroyed by an invisible force, one of the mirrors behind the Empress is suddenly featuring a crack. It would be obvious for the other guests from where the disturbance is coming, as the large gilded figure is pulsating with anger.

"You. Will. Not. Speak. Like. That. Ever."

His voice is a mere whisper, what was mechanical before is now filled with controlled wrath and annoyance. Centuries of conditioning do not cover the greatest scar he suffered, the greatest loss, they never could.

"You know nothing. You claim a title which is not yours to claim, your predecessor had a better understanding of that fact. Repeating the filfth of Sith and Jedi, of traitors and cutthroats is not supporting that claim."

Frank turned to see this display of power from the individual speaking with Ingrid. setting down his drink he moved over to the man in question. "Hey Tinman save that anger for the enemy this is not the time or the place for it. your scaring the locals." Frank said holding his ground while speaking calmly but firmly to the man.

Why this day of all days he chose to not carry a sidearm on himself was beyond him When he started raising he started insulting Ingrid He walked closer and placed a hand on the mans shoulder poldren with a grip strong enough to make it creak but controlled enough not to leave lasting damage to the armor or wearer. "buddy I suggest you change your tone when talking to people here you may not like how they act but tact would be a great skill to learn less someone knocks you down a few pegs to teach you some." frank said with controled but clear anger and annoyence from this man making a scene in the ballroom.

Turning his head he a nod and Said calmly "Ma-...my Lord do you wish for me to escort this man outside till he can calm down.?"

Ingrid tried to talk to the man, but apparently the conversation didn't go nearly as expected as the man reacted incredibly hostilely. Let’s just say it was pretty well known that the woman never wanted the throne and only under pressure from STRATCOM became an empress. She sought the emperor for as long as she could, until his death; and she didn't even think about taking the man's throne, she simply didn’t want it. She never claimed the titles, and if Tacitus ever resurrected, she would gladly return the throne to him.

The man was fortunate that the woman was infinitely patient and not a Sith who is losing their patience. The red-haired woman's only reaction was to raise her eyebrows. Nor did her body language tell what she was really thinking in this situation.

"Excuse me?"

She asked in her usual cold, military voice. Meanwhile, Frank came back and immediately got to protect the woman. Why did every man think she couldn’t defend herself? For crying out loud! She also provided protection for Tacitus as a bodyguard and many other ways. That’s why she didn’t want to be ruler either, she had far more restrictions than before. For the time being, Frank's words to the Empress just shake her head.

"Not necessary yet, Mr. Sterling. I am interested in the answers as to why the gentleman does not know how to talk to a military superior. But then you can accompany him later, later Mr. Aigos can think about what the right behavior is during his night in prison."

She was still speaking without emotion, she was not angry, it was not petty revenge, just as always, she was following the law. Though he knew her former master, the late Emperor would not have been so gracious.

Ecthelion would shrugs off the grip of the man or whatever it is, it was strong, but he doesn't grant Frank a look. His anger was still apparent, his annoyance beyond comprehension. The blizzard of an aura would rage for those atuned to the Force while the others still felt a strong inconvenience radiating from the Zakuulan.

"I owe you allegiance, but by insulting the Most Benevolent Emperor, I will not owe you respect here and now. Tacitus understood that he is merely picking up someone else's dream and honoured that mighty Sovereign. As probably the last surviving individual who felt the presence of the divine being you refer unreflectingly and disrespectuflly to as Valkorion, I will not tolerate the nonsense pathetic Sith and meagre Jedi were spreading. Especially not if it is coming from someone who has taken up the same mantle and seemingly desires to walk the same path."

The speech calms him down a bit, still his body is on high-end combat function, a mere thought and the combat stims would pump in. He keeps his look at her and removes the mask, lowering it and lowering his head, to show his scarred face.

"Save the cell. You have my allegiance, but I will not apologise. You are my superior and I will obey your commands as often as I will tell you my honest thoughts."

Aiglos offers a slight bow.
"Mylord." Before he would turn to leave the ball.

Frank would watch the man as he left the ballroom his targeting computer in his head making a note and id file of him if he ever becomes a issue. once the man has fully left the ballroom Frank sighs turning to Ingrid. "Sorry i know you dont like the protection detail, if it were up to me I wouldn't be doing that but orders are orders and the skeleton is signing my paychecks." Frank pulls out a Pack of deathsticks and offers Ingrid one weather she takes one or not hell take one and head outside before smoking.

Leaning on the edge of the balcony Frank couldnt help but think on some things aloud albeit a bit thankful no one would be out here unless their were and he wasnt aware. "am I even considered human anymore?" he asks himself aloud looking down at his hands showing scarring that also glows orange. "i guess i gave up alot of my humanity to avenge you guys." exhaling the smoke from the deathstick he jestered twords the sky. "let the good times roll old friends…ill see you again one day." putting out the deathstick frank would stand there for a momentand relax.

She felt pity for the man for only a single moment, but then she suppressed that feeling forever. Tacitus deceived him, he never cared about what Vitiate was doing, at most by gaining his power and he could destroy the Force with it. Tacitus was a psychopath; she “said” this by respecting her mentor and friend at the same time. The woman was a manipulator in a different way than the late emperor. Darth Tacitus deceived this man, and the woman can't tell him that.

"Darth Tacitus, or Emperor Tacitus, not just Tacitus. You are not the last surviving person of that age. If you do not believe me and the historical data… visit one of the leaders of the Sith Empire, Ardana Vorco Ardana Vorco . She was a Dark Counselor after the reign of Vitiate, and is now one of the Pillars of the Sith Empire. She can probably give you more accurate information about him and his reign."

She couldn't say she could tell stories about Darth Tacitus, but she still respected him so much that she wouldn't say negatives about him. But in the end, she decided to do it and be straight.

"This Eternal Empire has nothing to do with what was old. If my former master told you this, it was his intention to buy your loyalty. As much as I love and respect him and want him to be the Emperor again… I am straight enough that I do not want to deceive you or lie to you. If he said that before, he lied to you. If you don't want to believe me, you don't have to. Then my actions and the historical data of our empire will support my words."

She said honestly; such lies can do far more harm than the truth. Or half truth, with unspoken filthy details. She looked into his eyes as she spoke.

"The laws apply equally to everyone, including me. It also happened to me that I made a mistake, after which I voluntarily undertook several hours of torture for it, already as an Overlord. If I'm not made exceptions about myself, I will not do this with others either."

Nor did she stand above the law, she would have gone in to be tortured if she had broken it and that is her punishment. Meanwhile, Frank offered her a deathstick. She shook her head, it wasn’t really legal in the Empire because it caused a strong addiction, she never lived with it anyway, never used it. Ingrid looked at the man with a stern look, not because of the words, because of the offering.

"You'll go to the jail for punishment too, when the evening is over, Mr. Sterling."

Meanwhile, in the world in her mind, the first dance was over, she let Adrian pull her close and kiss her…

Aiglos would stop as he was about to pass her.

"I am not really caring about any Sith and their tales or age, nor what they claim to be truth or not. As soon as you meet a son or daughter of Zakuul who dwelled in the light of our Most Benevolent Emperor Valkorion, inform me and I will gladly converse with this person, otherwise, I am not interested.

And that is most disappointing. I have been giving the goal of the Wardens, is that a lie as well? I suppose there must be some purpose behind this realm, some goal and I will hopefully sooner than later see a briefing or directive about it."

Ecthelion looks ahead and back to her while she takes a deathstick. "If you have nothing to add, I will head to a cell, mylord."

Frank sighed "you know i have a prescription for the combat stim deathsticks and the bakta ones right?" there was no way he was going to win the argument against the empress. he land her rules he wanted to be angry but he couldn't find it in himself to be angry at her. "as you wish my lord ill see to a cell though i request you let Hades Corp know so they can send a medical professional to monitor me as I heal im not really supposed to be away from the medical room long due to im still healing after the fight against the assassin earlyer."

putting out the deathstick he leaned back on the wall before chuckling. "guess im just a glotton for pain well that and getting the chance to see a beutiful sight such as yourself again." Giving a salute he made his way to the prison cell.

"Heh!" She smiled at being right, even if it was only part way correct on her guess for the Empress. Though it was quickly followed up with a confused stare at trying to remember what exactly her aunt had indeed established as her chosen business. "It sounded right. It might not-"

Chassella spoke of leaving it a mystery for the time being, and Fel made a mental note of checking with Ingrid later about why she was famous. The confusion changed to a frown at leaving it a mystery but quickly softened to a pleased smile at the patting of her head.

The next question had her eyes turning bright emerald once more.

"Does collecting knives count? I like seeing which ones work the best. So far the Whimsy's are my favorite. I try to collect different chocolates from different planets but I can't not eat them. Just sitting there. Looking all delicious and stuff." She gushed, pleased to be talking and seemingly unbothered by the awkward silence. "I like travelling, but I got warned about saying my name. Something about deWinter makes people nervous. But telling them Felmorante is fine. Weird really."

"What hobbies do you have?"

The Empress looked after the man, which Warden he was talking about? About the old or the current? She considered the present to be out of the question, as was that he knew about the final plan. On the other hand, if she really lived at that age, the woman was not surprised that she came under so much influence from Vitiate. Ingrid also knew how manipulative the Sith Emperor was, his fame was legendary. He did good with Zakuul, but that couldn’t be said for the rest of the Galaxy.

"I don’t know what he told you, but we’ll speak about this, later. I promise! As soon as you can speak more calmly! Even tomorrow."

Doubt remained there until the future conversation about how much Tacitus said to him or which Wardens? No, she doubted that Tacitus had told him the ultimate goal. After all, the man is too attached to Vitiate's principles. And that is very far from what the Wardens of the Shroud represents. After that, she turned to Frank and nodded grimly.

"I will send the medical team there, you will be ok and you will not have any pain. I don't want to torture you. Believe me, I don't enjoy doing this. But if I don’t follow the laws, who will?"

Ingrid asked the poetic question, to which she did not really expect an answer. This day, this anniversary, went much worse than she had hoped. The only consolation was given by the world that existed in her mind and that she could be with Adrian there…

High Imperator of the Rim-Guard

Ecthelion looked at the Empress, his cold, icy eye implants would give any emotion away, nor could his scarred face do so. He just looked at her for a longer moment before he rose his voice to respond.

"Tomorrow then. And no word about -the- Eternal Emperor and we will be just fine, mylord. I invite you to The Phalanx on the morrow, whenever it pleases you."

He would offer another bow, brief and stiff and leave the ball. Aiglos would not care to move himself to a local or garrison prison but actually take a shuttle back to his ship and enter the detention tract himself. The security personnel was looking quite confused, but a quick gesture with his hand shut them up and they did as they were told.

The Exarch would spend the night in a cell, one which was not in use for thousands of years and clean like it was constructed yesterday. But he did not waste his time with meditation or just staring at the wall, or worse, sleeping. He was working. There were. number of reports he had to go through and respond to some official approaches. The Rim-Guard needed to grow.

Felmorante’s answer and her question in return, gave Chassella a brief moment of pause. The diminutive Elzeri blinked a few times, seemingly confused that the girl had such an ostensibly violent hobby, yet was seemingly ignorant as to who the Empress and the Blood Hound truly were. Collecting knives and seeing which ones “work the best”? Chassella found herself torn in two different directions, as to whether the girl was as innocent as she seemed or if she was being played for a fool. Either way, Chassella could not help but to feel off-kilter, suddenly not wanting to finish her second donut, though she felt bad letting it go to waste.

With a deep breath, Chassella covered her donut with a napkin before placing her hand under her chin in thought.

“So ummm…” She paused, mismatched eyes narrowing in focus as she contemplated her next words. “How exactly do you test which knives work the best?” The assassin asked.

“Also, I uhh...well, I don’t think it really falls under a hobby, but when I’m not praying or training, I like going to the temple’s library and reading exotic martial arts manuals. I found one that details an old ring blade martial art, essentially...a hula hoop with a blade along the circumference. I’m still trying to learn it, but it’s not easy.” She finished with a frown.

“I can show you, if you’d like! Not like...here, though, obviously.”

"Oh!" She smiled and shrugged. "I get a womp rat and play with it."

The talk of a bladed hula hoop had her leaning forward.

"That sounds awesome!" She exclaimed, wiggling a little closer. "And yeah, I don't think the delicate noses here would enjoy a show like that."

"I wonder if it could be like, a collapsible ring. Stows away like a curved stick or something but folds out! That would be hard to hide otherwise, or carry really."

Womp rats.

Upon hearing the word “rat”, Chassella’s initial reaction was one of consternation. The imagine that formed in her head was one of a bloodthirsty little girl picking up a terrified, squeaking rat and plunging a knife into its chest, before dropping the poor thing and looking over the knife to assess how well the implement performed in snuffing out the life of a tiny, helpless rodent. However, she quickly remembered that womp rats were not really “rats” in the traditional sense, but rather vicious pests, often bigger than she was tall. The Elzeri gave a sigh of relief, smiling as the girl expressed her interest in seeing her “dance” with a bladed hula hoop.

“Oh, it isn’t collapsible at all.” She frowned. “At least not the one I have. That’s actually the main issue with it. It’s heavy too, but that can be fixed with grav’ field disruptors. That said, I can give you a demonstration of how to use it, if you ever wanna meet up when I’m in Eve.”

“I imagine someone might be able to make it collapsible.”
Chassella contemplated it for a moment, but she was not mechanically-minded enough to see the idea to fruition. “That said, chakrams, which are essentially downscaled hula hoop blades that are like...the size of a small plate, are a lot more practical.” She added, gesturing to a small plate at the table.

“With those, you just throw it at people’s necks and their head comes off.” The assassin said matter-of-factly.

There was no reason for her to stay here in the ballroom after the two men left. The Empress didn’t stay here for the first time, she didn’t wait for the fireworks, so she didn’t do it now. Ingrid left the ballroom and went to her suite. She spent the whole night working, as usual, since she hadn't slept in a very long time. She didn't need it and was able to book herself with something else. There were quite a few state or corporate cases on the table for this. If fortunately not, then there were the alchemical teachings and the attempt to bring Adrian back.

The next morning, she was now going to the spaceport in her uniform. There, her own men were already waiting for the woman to go up to the Crimson Empress, but she had other orders. Ingrid had already learned that both men had been released from prison, so it was time for her to visit the man who had invited her anyway.

The dropship was already heading in the direction of the ships when the notice was sent to the man's ship that the Empress would soon arrive on board. And that soon happened. A few minutes later, they landed in one of the ship's hangars. For a moment she looked at her husband sitting next to her, who of course was only present in her mind, then got out of the dropship.

She had to get answers after the evening talk…

High Imperator of the Rim-Guard

The Phalanx floats in the upper-most atmosphere of the planet, a multi-headed spear of steel watching over the planet as if it would be a mother watching its egg. But the ship was already engaging procedures to leave the atmosphere and make its way somewhere else. The ancient battleship was warming up its engines and good amount of traffic was around, shuttles and freighters coming and leaving, most not from the planet itself.

Upon drawing closer one could see the silvery-grey hull passing by the windows nearby, the weapon emplacements and barbettes resting deactivated but still staring menancingly at anyone moving around the ship. The shape of the ship was unique in the current era and for those attuned to the military side of life, it could even be called a beauty, especially considering it was burried on a planet a decade ago.

The hangar bays were at the flanks of the main body, the activity seemed to have faded a bit, but still shuttles and freighters were transporting goods, supplies and weapons in. Behind a wall of deflectors inside the hangar were starfighters and ammo magazines. The deck was buzzing with activity. Hundreds of people were working here but nothing seemed to be uncoordinated. Crates, canisters, paletts were moved, mostly by people but a fair share of droids was present as well. There were officers in very simple looking white uniforms, overwatching the procedures. The guard duty was fulfilled by droids, Skytroopers, who stood in pairs at every entrance and at the magazines.

Waiting for the Empress was a ... well, not an honour guard, but two individuals. The lead one, clearly Ecthelion Aiglos, was not clad in his golden armour anymore. He was wearing a red tabard over what looked to be a light leather armour. The second was an anonymous Rim-Guard knight in full armour and arms, carrying a big decorated shield and a lightsaber pike. From nearby the Empress would be able to see a large amount of engravings and details on the plates.
Both individuals would bow simultaneously, Aiglos putting the fist to his heart while the other raised the pike in front of his face.

"Welcome on The Phalanx, Empress. It is good to have this opportunity to talk in a more private environment. Please follow me."

The master of the Rim-Guard would lead the Empress to the Strategium of the ship, a section behind the bridge which was dominated by a large holo-table in the centre and a gallery with two further levels above. It was more a hall than a room and apparently dedicated to overseeing all military operations, more or less. In the galeries were working stations for tactical, strategic and intelligence officers who were following their daily duties. Though at the bottom floor, there was a small room, it seemed mostly unused, but might have once belong to the captain of the ship as his staff room, with a couple of chairs and a large table in them, all made of fine wood. The Rim-Guard paladin stopped at the door and would close and guard it.

"You seeked a personal meeting, Empress. Here we are, please go ahead."

As soon as she left the dropship, Lord Aiglos and another man were already waiting for her. The woman also responded to the salute with a salute, in the usual Eternal Imperial way, after all, she was a soldier and came to visit another soldier. She pretended not to look at the other man who was here with Aiglos for a moment, but she surveyed him very well out of the corner of her eye. As an agent, spy, or assassin (depending on who calls occupation to what) she had to learn this.

"Lord Aiglos! Yes, that would be great!"

She said in her usual voice. On the outside, she might have seemed completely indifferent and cold, but she was paying attention to everything and memorizing everything. The white uniforms, the workers, their numbers, the patterns on the Rim-Guard armour. She did the same while walking on the corridors and after reaching the Strategium of the ship. To tell the truth, she found this ship fascinating; only regretted that she could show no sign of this, she had to remain completely indifferent.

Because this behaviour was expected of her, so she had to do it. Ingrid followed the two men wordlessly, walking with her hands clasped behind her back, her every step accurate, measured; perfectly military yet elegant and graceful. After they entered the room and the two of them stayed, she just looked at the man. Meanwhile, the red-haired woman stopped in a small straddle, her hands still clasped behind her back.

"I assume you know why I'm here. I think you owe me a little explanation for your behaviour last night."
