OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
SETTING INFORMATION
  • Structure Name: Sith Citadel of Dromund Kaas
  • Classification: Administrative Center, Imperial Residence
  • Location: New Kaas City, Dromund Kaas
  • Affiliation: The Sith Empire
  • Accessibility: The Sith Citadel had several levels of access codes attached to the structure, with the Citadel's ground-level being the most open and easy to access, and subsequent high and lower levels requiring more and more clearance to access. The Halls of Solomon, the sanctuary of the Emperor and his family, was completely off-limits to anyone who was not a Zambrano.
  • Description: The Sith Citadel of Dromund Kaas was a monolithic structure, constructed at the apex of New Kaas City and designed to serve as the shining edifice for the glory and superiority of the Sith. Designed to resemble the Sith Citadel which previously occupied Kaas City before the Sack of Dromund Kaas, this new iteration of the Sith Citadel was far larger and exorbitantly grander than its predecessor. Connected to the rest of New Kaas City rather than being separated by a large trench, the Sith Citadel was effectively the beating heart of the city around which all air traffic flowed regularly.

It was the largest structure in the city by far, visible from virtually every district in the Sith capital, at several kilometers in height and spanning several square kilometers in diameter. The base structure appears as a squat pyramid which then tapers up into a large central spire. Multiple other spires branch away from the base structure, connected to one another by closed-top bridges and other pathways. The Citadel edifice is lit by multiple banks of luminance strips that activate during Dromund Kaas' night cycle to keep the Citadel illuminated.

The walls and plinths of the Citadel were left bare of excessive opulence, retaining a utilitarian design similar to those found on Sith-Imperial warships. The statues that did manage to grace some of the halls and chambers were fashioned from
bronzium and were modeled after Lords of the Sith who had come and gone, their lightsaber blades constructed out of rare havod. Banners and flags displaying the Sith-Imperial crest were draped throughout most of the Citadel's chambers. Crystalline structures similar to the Spires of Victory were kept in several chambers, shifting from abstract shapes into Sith-Imperial symbols at regular intervals.

Several hangar bays were set into the Citadel's surface, most of them reserved for the squadrons of starfighters which acted as the Citadel's defensive air force. These fighters were piloted by members of the Imperial Crownguard and were considered to be highly skilled, though there were also several squadrons of Banshee Cyborg-Fighters stationed in the Citadel's bays.

However, a small group of Mandalorians who had allied themselves with the Sith to betray their kin has been stationed in a wing of the Sith Citadel, serving as another blade in the Sith Emperor's arsenal.
    • Throne Amphitheater: Modeled after the ancient and ruined throne room on Exegol, the Throne Amphitheater in the Sith Citadel featured the Emperor's throne at one end and a raised amphitheater at the other which could hold hundreds of individuals. Between them was a vast flat expanse where the Imperial Crownguard often stood in protection of their Emperor. The amphitheater also featured many holographic projectors and shield generators.

    • Chamber of the Pale Lady: There exists in the Sith Citadel a small chamber, not much larger than six meters long and four meters wide, occupied by a single stone statue resembling the appearance of a hooded and cloaked woman of indeterminate identity. Simple braziers line the path towards the statue, and a little altar rests at the statue's feet.
  • Halls of Solomon
    • Athenaeum: A repository of hidden and forbidden knowledge, the Emperor's Athenaeum was accumulated over many decades from pilfered temples and libraries across the galaxy. Though the majority of the amassed knowledge was copied for circulation among the Sith Order, the Emperor kept the greatest secrets for himself; including the holocrons of many fabled Jedi and Sith. Specialized custodians guarded the Athenaeum, deterring any would-be intruders from partaking in the Emperor's secrets.
    • Hypaethral Gardens: Set in roofless courtyards, the Emperor possesses a multi-tiered garden structure where flora accumulated from across the galaxy are tended to by dedicated caretakers. Several respites are scattered across the gardens where members of the Imperial Family can enjoy themselves with their various activities and hobbies. A small portion of the garden is restricted to all but the Emperor and his Empress-consorts.
    • Emperor's Suite: The Emperor's personal quarters are a lavish wing of rooms where the Emperor, his wives, and his consorts reside. It was connected to the Shadow Hand's Suite by a series of hallways and secret corridors, allowing for quick and often unseen movement between the two wings.

    • Imperial Commons: The Imperial Commons was the interconnected resting areas and personal quarters of the Imperial Family, the Zambranos, and their retainers. Here, the Imperial Family could indulge in their favorite pastimes and intermingle with family members within the safety of the Sith Citadel. Besides the Imperial Family's personal quarters and recreational areas, the Commons also contained holo-cinemas, spas, workshops, and dozens of other specialized areas.
    • Hall of Victories: The Emperor has acquired many trophies over the decades, from countless battlefields and from countless duels. All of those baubles are collected in a single wing of the Sith Citadel, known as the Hall of Victories. Everything from Mandalorian armor collected from the Battle of Junction to Jedi relics pilfered from the Jedi Temple on Coruscant resides within this Hall, immortalized as triumphs of the Sith and their Emperor.

It houses many data feeds and security systems and oversees nearly all traffic within the Citadel. Adjacent chambers serve as armories, barracks, and training dojos for members of the Crownguard stationed in the Citadel. The Sanctum was primarily manned by serfs who were sworn to serve the Crownguard for life, their mouths sewn shut as to keep the guard's secrets.
  • Sub-Level
    • Imperial Dungeon: Located beneath the Sith Citadel, the Imperial Dungeons were reserved for prisoners of special interest to the Emperor and the upper echelon of the Sith Empire. Most of the cells are set into the floor with a ray shield acting as the gate, which could only be opened via a control panel located in the control center of that cell's detention level. Besides ray shield controls, these highly guarded centers could electrocute the walls and floors, alter illumination, or flood the cells with a loud noise. A set number of interrogation chambers were adjacent to every detention level, outfitted with high-tech equipment designed to physically and mentally break down prisoners.
    • Research & Development Laboratories: Located even further down beneath the Sith Citadel than the Imperial Dungeons was a series of laboratories focused on research and development. These labs were created at the Emperor's behest to perform experiments that aligned with the Emperor's personal projects.
    • Clone Laboratories: Adjacent to the R&D Laboratories were a series of laboratories dedicated to furthering the science of cloning, particularly working with genomes supplied by the Sith Emperor. A cache of the Emperor's clone bodies were stored within, as were clone bodies for the Shadow Hand, and clones of various high profile individuals from across the galaxy.
    • Sithspawn Menagerie: Built into the natural cave system residing beneath New Kaas City is a series of corrals and pens where the Sith Emperor has stored countless beasts conceived through the dark art of Sith Alchemy. Most of these creatures have been created either by his own hand or by Taeli Raaf Taeli Raaf 's. The tunnel system also connects to a hidden laboratory beneath the Imperial Arcanix Zoo in New Kaas City.
    • Dark Temple Passageway: Existing long before the construction of the new Sith Citadel was a tunnel crossing the entirety of the Kosqam continent to the island of Mognosk across the Botaj Rijar bay. On the island of Mognosk is the Dark Temple, an ancient Sith monument which has since been rebuilt and refurbished by the Sith Empire.
SECURITY
  • Maximum
    • External
      • The walls surrounding the Sith Citadel are of gargantuan proportions. The walls are thirty meters wide and a hundred meters tall, larger than most of the structures surrounding them. Defense towers consisting of massive gun-citadels run every hundred meters along the lengths of the walls and were comprised of multiple turbolaser cannons and flak guns. Inside the walls are endless amounts of power generators, ammunition trains, starcraft hangars, barracks, and deflector shield generators. Stretching for thousands of kilometers, much of this area is defended by Gelian Sentinel regiments. These walls are in truth more of a contiguous fortress than a simple barrier.
      • In addition to its network of walls and gun batteries, the Sith Citadel is protected by a shield system known as Marr's Aegis, which was a sophisticated multi-layered deflector web that encompassed the whole of the Sith Citadel.
      • Multiple launch bays and hangars litter the Citadel's defensive towers, capable of launching multiple wings of starfighters in defense of the Citadel. The majority of fighters stored within these bays were Dominance-class Strike Fighters piloted by members of the Crownguard Guard and decorated with distinct red piping, alongside several squadrons of Banshee Cyborg-Fighters.
    • Internal
      • The Sith Citadel complex was patrolled and guarded exclusively by Gelian Sentinel regiments, who were suicidally loyal to the Sith Emperor and his family. They were incorruptible and incapable of being swayed away from their duty to their Emperor and would take their own lives if prompted by the Sith Emperor and his close kin.
      • The Halls of Solomon were instead guarded by the Imperial Crownguard, the sovereign protectors of the Imperial Family. They were even more fanatically devoted to the Zambranos than the Gelian Sentinels and were entirely comprised of Epicanthix chosen and vetted by the Sith Emperor and Shadow Hand themselves, augmented with science and magic to be far beyond what they had been.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The Sith Citadel of Dromund Kaas was once the seat of power of Vitiate, Dark Lord of the Sith, during his rule over the Reconstituted Sith Empire thousands of years ago. In the aftermath of the Sith Empire's fall, the Citadel and Kaas City itself was abandoned and left to rot under the decay of time. Centuries passed as the Citadel fell further and further into disrepair, a moldering monument to the past failings of the Sith. Though the nearby Dark Force Temple was briefly occupied by the Prophets of the Dark Side, they left the Citadel untouched by their presence. It wasn't until the Sith returned to Dromund Kaas under the auspices of Darth Sidic that the Citadel was again inhabited.
Darth Sidic and his followers repaired the crumbling Citadel and used it as their base of operations in the establishment of a new Sith Empire. They breathed new life into Kaas City and had their loyal non-Sith followers take up residence in the city as the basis for a new founding aristocracy. Eventually, more colonists were summoned to Dromund Kaas to inhabit the city, and therefore, the Citadel as well. Darth Sidic was eventually replaced by a triumvirate of Sith Lords, Disciple, Darth Voracitos, and Darth Moridin. Though briefly sharing power between themselves, Moridin outmaneuvered the others and established himself as the new Sith Emperor; the first in generations.
To cement his new authority, Moridin stormed into the Sith Citadel and cut down the Sith Council which had conducted civil affairs for the fledgling Empire. He appointed a rising star, Kaine Zambrano, as his Grand Vizier to oversee the new Sith government as head of Moridin's cabinet. Zambrano went to work reforming the Empire's bureaucracy, which had grown lazy under the previous ruling triumvirate. He also set about restructuring the Sith Citadel and improving upon its defenses, taking down all symbols of the Sith who had stood against Moridin's seizure of power.
The citadel would remain more or less the same throughout the rest of Moridin's reign, the reign of Ashin Varanin, Darth Voracitos, and the majority of Tyrin Ardik's. The Citadel suffered some damage during the event known as the Thronebreaking, where Mikhail Shorn and several other Sith stormed the Citadel and dethroned Tyrin Ardik after a short brawl. The throne of the Sith was shattered by Shorn's hand, and he appointed Dranok Lussk as the new Sith Emperor before leaving the Empire's domain. Lussk himself would later be overthrown by Kaine Zambrano, who anointed himself Sith Emperor and made the Citadel his seat of power, like the Emperors before him.
During the Imperial-Republic War, the Sith Citadel was destroyed by a marauding army of Mandalorians who struck at Dromund Kaas while the majority of the Empire's armies were fighting the Galactic Republic. The Sith Citadel crumbled into the earth along with the majority of Kaas City, destroyed and buried.
The Citadel would not be restored until decades later, when the Restored Sith Empire under the control of Kaine Zambrano, now known as Darth Carnifex, restored order to Dromund Kaas after driving the Silver Jedi and other squatters who had taken up residence on the former Sith capital away. The Sith Citadel, along with what would become New Kaas City, was constructed according to architectural plans devised by Darth Carnifex. Carnifex then made the renewed Sith Citadel his seat of power, as he had done so when he last ruled as Emperor. The Sith Citadel continues to serve as the Sith Empire's administrative heart, anchoring the dozens of ministries and government offices that comprised the Empire's vast government.

This submission looks great... however there is one tiny little hiccup. Your link for Fortress Carnifex:

links to an archived submission which is not permitted under the Codex Guidelines:

Do not place links in submissions to threads that are within the Archives or anywhere that cannot always be publicly viewed. (Ex. Faction Groups/Google Docs/Etc)
The options you have here are as follows:
  • Remove the link entirely
  • Have the submission returned to active use
Perhaps you have a different submission which replaced the one in question. You could also substitute for that.

I would also suggest your hyperlinks are difficult for me to read with the way you have the template formatted. It could be that I have an astigmatism and that I am the only one with that trouble. You don't have to change it, but it would be nice if the hyperlinks were a bit more obvious.

Let me know how you would like to proceed here, or tag when you have made the edit.

Thanks!
