Designed by Sasori and made for exploration in ruins or areas without access to powersources for lights. In the long term it serves a better purpose then having several glowrods or flashlights. The hybrid plexisteel casing is lighter weight with a transparasteel case between the framework. The energy cell is designed to function for long periods of time with activation and reactivation instead of being a one-time use. Recycling energy so it can go for possibly indefinite lengths of time. Requiring less recharges or even none in its functions. It is not an infinite use item with more uses diminishing the power it has but with sparing use an explorer can have it for ruins for a long time without a recharge in a small station. THe colors able to be changed as needed or a black light filter tinted to the transparasteel in case of a need for seeing with it.
THe years have been kind with the glow rods and Sasori has worked on many aspects of it from the power source which was already long lasting and impressive to the housing which has been overdesigned to repair itself and compated with the clear surface made to provide maximum light from it. THe refraction of the small slits in the panels ensures maximum distribution of the light being projected and it can cover a large area with low settings. THe higher the setting the further it can go with maximum going up to 20 meters around the glow rod mirroring a glowball technique of the jedi but from a technological level.
