Private Pursuing Old Names [Aldrouk Grandaun]

The masked individual left the building, they had an unusual presence about them from the moment they'd landed in a shuttle, carrying a troop of refugees along with them. Some of whom were injured. Batuu was a place that the individual had assumed safe, and after landing and asking for help, they got it, someone even paid for a small Inn to help them out on. Almost immediately the individual began treating the injured using a range of technologies and biological methods that were somewhat out of the ordinary.

The individual identified themselves as Sar Vun. The mask they wore was slightly intimidating to some, but it hid the true presence of Shavara underneath, masking it with it's own specific presence. And around her she wore a set of robes, loose, simple, and brown, further disguising her appearance, which had already been shifted to be somewhat taller than her normal self, with darker skin, grey eyes, and a slightly altered face structure. This form was one that changed regularly, sometimes she was this, sometimes she was short and white, sometimes she didn't even appear as a woman but as a man. All this was possibly over-kill, as the mask and robes rarely came off. The mask itself was meant to identify her as Sar Vun, someone who had been against the current ruler of Vran'Ti who allowed their world to be under the Eternal Empire, and so had sided with the Eclipse Rebellion against the Eternal Empire.

To most that name meant nothing, it was given for a specific purpose however. It had a history for those of her world, a man who was very weak in the force, yet so incredibly skilled at almost any form of alchemy that he stood up to the leader and strongest force user on the planet, and won. Yet didn't take the place for himself. He was known for unusual skill, even able to have some things that let him change into animals. This shouldn't have been possible for his species. That was why it was almost believable that somehow he'd come back, or hadn't died in the first place. Not that it was a common belief. But even if this person wasn't Sar Vun, they were a threat to the worlds leadership, and as a result, needed to be exterminated. They were wanted by both the Vran'Ti government and the Eternal Empire as a member of the rebels. However due likely to the shapeshifting, illusions, and evasive techniques, had evaded capture so far.

So far.

Aldrouk was thousand meters outside of town when he sensed the being. Aldrouk was out of the home system following signs of force users. He wore his Gundanbard armor and carried a Lightsaber, it wasnt the most common style, but for the Gundanbard it worked. He wore a cloak, it overall brought down the suspicion level. Most people did not trust someone in full battle armor and grenades hangingfrom his belt.

He now moved quickly towards the presence of a force user. The Gundanbard culture had a very interesting relationship with the force. It is the force that gives them there aggressive drive to conquer and destroy. And some Gundanbard are force sensitive and are revered as the strongest of them. But they hate force users that are not of the Gundanbard, and so it is a law, that if you find one you must kill the individual, unless it compromises the battle. And so now Aldrouk has found one, he will not let her escape.

He then can to a rock that looked over the settlement. There was not much there, he couldn't see his target yet. But the target would have a struggle to come.

Shavara Shavara

Shavara handed one of them a canister of gkchrn from under her robes, "Smear this on an open wound, it will remove and replaced damaged tissue. Do not consume it. Wipe it off once it has done the job." every word was said with the utmost pronunciation. It was those who lived on her home-world due to their native languages requirements. It made mimicking other languages relatively easy, but also emphasized the importance of saying things correctly.

They nodded and walked inside the Inn as she began to walk away, her gloved hand went underneath the hood rubbing her neck from leaning over people working on them. She did not yet sense the presence of Aldrouk Grandaun Aldrouk Grandaun and even if she had, it might not have necessarily brought her immediate wariness of him. The force was very common to feel on her planet and she was still getting used to how most seemed to lack it.

She was making her way to the ship she'd brought, a small transport ship relatively speaking. She had her actual ship, a KS-6800 'Endeavor' on another world. She had a set of methods she'd use to go from one to the other without getting followed. That was the plan at least. Aldrouk would have time to intercept her before she got to her ship and made it off world.

Aldrouk was still crouched overlooking the settlement, but then he saw the target. Perfect he thought. He stood and made his way through the back of the buildings on both sides of Shavara's location. He grabbed a grenade from his belt, he would stop her from leaving by giving her no choice. He didn't want to kill her right away either, more pain would be better. He activated the grenade, he threw it into the nearest building through a vent. He had moved ahead of Shavara and now he had calculated that she would be right outside the building when the grenade went off, stunning her.

10 seconds.

He began to count, he could see her through a window and at an angle she wouldn't notice.

8 seconds.

He stayed where he was to make sure the plan would work out.

6 seconds.

He quickly got away from the building with the grenade and moved up to the next one, he would strike as soon as it went off.

4 seconds.

He grabbed his lightsaber.

2 seconds.

He got ready to go.

1 second.

He went out just as the grenade went off, to finish off the target.

Shavara Shavara

Shavara was not a warrior by nature, she did not follow the Path of Emotion like those who often engaged in combat. But she was very strong in the force, and a very good alchemist and biologist. It was these things that gave her an advantage and little else. As she avoided too much fighting. Yet, in spite of all that, she felt an uneasy feeling as she moved forwards. With each step, she felt her arms clenching together as she looked around.

And then there was the explosion, her ears rang as she felt herself fall off her feet and onto the ground, she felt debris hit her. Most of it didn't hurt her, though she felt one piece make it through the robes and imbed slightly into her leg. It was the blast itself that rung her and put her in surprise.

She didn't move, she wanted to, she had begun to, but let herself fall back down. She realized she should pretend to be unconscious or even more weakened than she was. That was easier said than done, her ears rang and she desperately wanted to make them stop. She wanted to remove the stone, to get up and vanish. But it was hard to focus properly. She tried to listen but she couldn't hear things.

But she could feel for the force, feel for thoughts and minds, presences nearby. Telepathy came relatively easily, she need only wait. The moment Aldrouk Grandaun Aldrouk Grandaun would get close, she'd roll over, her kaliek appearing suddenly in her hands raised defensively. She would have summoned her shield, but that required more attention, and with her ears ringing as they were she wasn't quite prepared. This may not have been the best decision, perhaps now she should have given into the fear that suddenly grabbed at her and used a force push. Or tried to hide herself with an illusion or tossing dust into the air. But Shavara was not a warrior, she did not have the experience of one. And she was stunned, she simply did what she did because it was all she could think of at the time.

Aldrouk walked over to the cloud of dust, he ignited his lightsaber, it glowed a deep red. He then saw the shimmer of a blade, the dust began to settle and he saw his opponent. He knew she was strong in the force, he was not sure if she is a good fighter, but he had s
a suspicion she wasn't. He took a step forward to test her reaction, then he struck.

The Gundanbard species are not very intellectual in the civil arts, but when it comes to war, they are experts. Aldrouk knowing that his opponent could try to take out his legs from her lower position came in on an angle to take away this advantage. He struck with a powerful blow from his lightsaber. He would then turn to attack agian from behind. He did not know the properties of the enemies weapon, but he did not wish to figure it out by getting hit.

Shavara Shavara

The lightsaber hit the kaliek and pressed it back only a little, it was like hitting a cushion with a stick. The kinetic momentum seemed to be sucked out of it. Though this was especially made to work against force users, it was an excellent weapon against a lightsaber which was filled with energy. because it kept that energy contained within it. Shavara managed herself to her feet and before she could do anything he struck again, she lunged forwards turning to barely catch the weapon again.

Her focus was on two things right now, her body, and her weapon, strengthening her muscles, furthering her nerves, so that keeping up with the much larger and more experienced warrior wouldn't be as much on the knife. She wanted to ask him what he was doing but barely had had the time to stop his weapon from tearing her apart.

He was right to be concerned about getting hit by the Kaliek, it wasn't in fact hers by design, but was an early creation of the man who's name she took. With the energy it contained, if hit, it would practically create a small explosion around it, tearing armor or flesh wherever the broadside of the blade touched. However, given his superior skill, it was a bit less likely he would end up in such a position. Her mask might help against attempts to see or feel what was in her head, or effect it, but her body language definitely showed her as someone with at least some fear.

She was on guard again, standing with the Kaliek ready. If he swung, she would let it hit the broadside. For her it would be like a regular hit, but for him it would release all his previous hits back against his blade, hopefully putting him off guard just enough for her to try and force push him through the air. Hopefully being the key word.

Aldrouk was getting impatient. His first attack was blocked, he now knew the blade was special. His next attack was agian met by resistance, and then he was pushed back by the force. He was now angry, and he was ready to spill blood.

He then got up and reached out before she could do anything. He used the force to grab anything that was near, a crate. He pulled it towards him and right at his opponent. And when she tried go stop it or move out of the way he would attack again. This time he pulled out a standard Gundanbard knife to stab when she tried to block. He was able to strike with two weapons, the average Gundanbard has enough strength over other species to fight them one arm to one.

Shavara Shavara

She spent her spare moment to summon her shield, she didn't get the chance to use it however, he recovered fast. A crate flew her way and he was moving too. She panicked for a split moment, were it not for the changes she made she probably would have been fully skewered. She used the shield, expanding it's defensive range causing the crate to shatter on the almost forcefield like wall that it created, one of the blades managed to catch her in the side but thanks only to her changes she managed to move out of the way clutching her side as blood began to emerge.

Her fear was growing, her pain was there, she was having trouble thinking what to do. She wanted to speak. She couldn't. But she did need to attack. Or he'd just keep chipping away at her. An arm began to grow out of her back, this was not the easiest technique, but it was going to be of great aid soon. It was longer and comprised mostly of muscle and nerves as opposed to cartilage. It was only there to help her focus the force and as a surprise. She kept back-stepping from him, keeping her shield between them. And then the hand reached out over her shoulder attempting to grip the Gundanbard with the force and throw him straight up into the air. His skill at melee range was definitely greater than hers. She held on only because of her alchemic items and her strength in the force. But those who practiced martial arts as much as he must have often had greater reserves of stamina.

She needed to play to her strengths, force him to keep closing the distance and hitting her sword or shield which could do most of the work for her. Give her time to alter her body accordingly. Give her time to figure things out. She couldn't just go at it. Though she probably should try.

Aldrouk Grandaun Aldrouk Grandaun

Aldrouk was semi-secsessful on his attack, and now she went on the offensive. He felt weightless as he was lifted into the air. He then felt gravity and slammed into the ground. He got up as quickly as possible and found her on the defense. His side stung from the hit, but like most Gundanbard, he viewed pain as something not to be worried about.

He then tried something different, he called upon his sacred powers and sent lightning from his hand at his enemy. He then left forward and struck with all of his strength, hoping to break his enemy.

Shavara Shavara

The force, that was an odd feeling, she let it get through. She let it pass the shield, pass the sword, and hit her head on. For a very specific reason. Her robes underneath the larger brown ones that sizzles from the heat, her muscles clenched slightly in response to the electricity, but the robes took in so much of the force lightning that otherwise it barely did anything to her, but give her power.

So instead of trying to deflect his weapon or backstep, she chose to use it against him, combining with the power it had given the robes with that of her own she released a Force Burst, and then another, and another. Masses of orb-like energy meant to hit a good deal harder than a force push, though not quite as deadly as Force Repulse, whose diameter were nearly her height to make it harder to dodge. Fueled by a collaborative energy of her robes and herself.

She was honestly afraid to even try speaking at this point. Whatever her strength in the force, or items at her disposal, she was very much not enjoying this. If she'd have been trained in the fight properly, this might not have been as big an issue, she was not, so it was not.

Aldrouk Grandaun Aldrouk Grandaun

Aldrouk hopped the outcome would've been different. He send the lightning and then watched as she used it against him. He felt the attack blow him in the chest, fortunately his armor was thick and took some of the blow. But the pure power of the attack launched him back into the nearest buildings window.

The world seemed to tun around him, he stood he could tell that he was bleeding under the armor. He slowly stood and looked at his opponent, he could tell that she was strong. He then said in his native language, Lynn u axniat, ti lynn sat frysar! When he said this he raised his lightsaber and pointed it at Shavara.

Shavara Shavara

Shavara let out a breath of relief as she saw the results of the hit, her shield prepared for another attack, her sword beside her while her third created arm remained slightly hidden by the robes in case of an attack from behind. She was breathing carefully, trying to keep it quiet. She heard him speak in a language she did not understand and stiffened herself assuming at first he meant to attack again.

But she responded, at first she thought to do so in basic, but thinking on it, perhaps it was better to use the alternative. While she spoke in basic, she also attempted to speak to his mind. Hoping it would bridge the potential communication gap. "I am Sar Vun. Why do you attack me?"

She was worried threatening him would only prompt him further, and acting too afraid could also prompt the same results. She couldn't tell he was bleeding from her position. So she didn't even know if he actually felt it for sure. It looked painful, but it looked painful from the perspective of someone who avoided conflict. She imagined the same injuries would be much more painful to her than him.

Aldrouk Grandaun Aldrouk Grandaun

Aldrouk saw she was confused, gardak is known by very few outside of the Gundanbard species. And he knew a small amount of basic, but he got the general message. As for the telepathic message, it did not come in a way that would have been understandable. You are one that controls the sacred power, for that you must die by our laws. He said. He did no move to attack, he wished for her to understand before he killed her.

While this confrontation took place he reconnected a loose piece of amor from the attack. He was also forming a plan to take her out, it was a priority always. He gripped his now deactivated lightsaber and breathed deeply. He noticed that she was wounded, he could very much use this to his advantage.

Shavara Shavara

She heard his words. Her culture was not like others and she knew that as well. To her people, he was little more than an intelligent animal. Same for every being of every other species. They were different. He didn't attack yet, she needed that time. The third arm grabbed something quickly, a pouch of powder, went up, through the collar of her robes and under the mask and then she breathed in deeply.

It was immediately followed by coughing. As she leaned forwards from the pain of inhaling what was essentially powdered soft crystals. The kabadabi. She still had her injury which bled again because of the coughing. It wasn't deep enough to threaten her life, but it made moving hurt that was for sure. The one in her leg was much more easily ignored.

She inhaled the Kabadabi, and she felt the surge of power that it gave her along with the pain. She look at it later on her ship. Her throat and lungs still burned, but she needed that. He intended to kill her. And she wasn't going to risk that. "You call it sacred power, I call it Vo. But while you may be superior in your skill with a weapon weapon, my species is born to this."

Her body grew much more rapidly, matching his height as each muscle and tendon strengthened itself, her body needed to be prepared, the skin underneath her robes and mask turned to more resemble the scales of a Osorae. Her wound remained, even grew due to the shifting and stretching. And it hurt like kark. But she didn't have time to consider the pain, "And I have knowledge and tools that are much older and tested in design than you."

Even her voice had grown deeper, she stood more firmly, doing one thing now. Focusing on the force. She couldn't beat him in a basic skill of weapon. She'd have to use absolutely everything at her disposal. Shield, sword, robes, power, shapeshifting. It all had to be thrown together in the right way to properly combat this. It was the first time she'd truly been in danger of her life. She'd been on the battlefield before, but last time it was ranged enemies. She could deflect their weapons with the force, or even turn them against each other. This was different. It was also the reason she had the shield and kaliek in the first place, her lack of skill meant her weapons had to be superior to her opponents. Or else she was screwed. And she still saw this fight as being dangerous. Empowered or not.

Aldrouk Grandaun Aldrouk Grandaun

Aldrouk took a step back, he had not seen anything like this. He knew that she now most likely had supernatural strength like the Gundanbard, so pure muscle couldn't be used. He breathed in and out, it would come to skill.

He then used the force to take the pieces of broken glass around him and he sent it flying at her face. And then he went to strike for the legs. He launched himself and ignited his lightsaber. He made a long side slice motion for the left leg. He would then strike for the back. He prayed to the gods to give him the power to crush his enemy.

Shavara Shavara

He was seemingly surprised by her change of size. Good, maybe if she could spill the fear into him that she felt she might be able to scare him off. or at least, concern enough for his life.

She raised her shield, this would have to be her saving grace. It wasn't all that large, yet due to it's design she could extend it's protection like a forcefield, causing the pieces of glass to hit an invisible wall and fall. She Kept in motion tossing her hood back so that only the 'mask' (which had an almost helmeted shape) hide her giving her the proper range of view.

The shield's field would stop the leg strike and slice, it's field capable of handling most forms of attacks, it relied on her power to use it this way. So as long as she could maintain that, it was going to be very hard to break through what was basically a moving armored wall. The back strike was the issue, she had to dodge again, she tried to deflect with her sword as she moved, but she ended up only managing to get out of the way. If she could block, it'd be better, make him waste energy. But while she might now be more physically on par with his speed and strength, it only accounted for so much. Her reactions weren't as instinctively trained as his were, so she was still only split steps from being cut or carved.

She had to attack in turn. After his attack, the third arm reached out again, and clenched, attempting to crush the armor around his leg against itself using telekinesis. She hoped doing so could cripple him. Maybe instead of him chipping away at her, she could chip away at him.

Aldrouk Grandaun Aldrouk Grandaun

His attack was blocked. Aldrouk was getting tired of these unsuccessful assaults. And now he had got her angry and she was on the offensive. He felt his leg get squeezed by the crushed armor. He blocked he attacked and then moved back, he had another plan. He made sure to gain some distance and then he loosened and took off his lower leg armor, it was slowing him down. Now it was time for action.

He ran, not away into the wilderness, but to Shavara's ship. He made sure to send debris at his enemy to slow her. He eventually found her ship, and he took his lightsaber and cut open a hole. He turned and watched as Shavara approached. His plan was simple but if executed right, it could bring the advantage to him.

Shavara Shavara

He removed the armor on the leg, she wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not. And then he ran...towards her ship. He sent debris at her, blocked by the shield as she started moving forwards. He was going to cut her ship up! For a moment she panicked, then she realized that he'd given her time. There was only so much she could do to stop him, and it was likely her ship would be destroyed either way. But she could potentially sneak on board someone else's, then find another way back to her own after that.

Still, she couldn't completely let him get away with it. She focused herself, taking this precious time to calm her mind. And then reached out with the force. The village become shrouded in a red mist. A mist that did not even properly exist. A shroud obscuring even ones own hands from their face. Illusions like this were easy enough as is, their complexity was nearly non-existent, it was only their size that mattered. And when strengthened by the crystals, it made it even easier.

The next part was a little more complicated, she created noises, footsteps, breathing, that seemed to make it sound like she'd gone from one person, to many. She knew he'd never believe that to be the case. That wasn't the point. It was to make it so that it would be difficult to tell who the real one was. "You attack, you destroy property, on traditions of a short sighted culture of destruction. These actions, I cannot indulge." the voice was not from her mouth, but echoed from the ship. "I pity you for this loss of knowledge you must suffer. But this is unacceptable."

She reached out, attempting to yank the ship towards him hoping to flatten him under it. The illusion would fade regardless of its success as her focus shifted. She was going to need all her attention now. The third arm pointed itself towards him. "The fear and panic you caused has been pressed down, permitting me the control that I needed. And now you have two options. Admit you cannot beat me, or find yourself on the wrong end of a Vo Ni's retaliation."

While it was true that she had managed to suppress the fear, it didn't mean she actually had all the courage she wanted. She didn't want him to come after her again, for all the sternness in her voice. She wanted him to admit defeat, maybe even outright surrender. But the fear that did remain told her that he wouldn't. Yet, she still hoped otherwise.

Aldrouk Grandaun Aldrouk Grandaun

Aldrouk saw very little through the mist, fortunately he knew where the ship was he ran into it and then found the entrance. Though unfortunately Shavara was going to crush him with the ship. He jumped up so he went into the hole he now cut. When inside he still felt the tug of the force, perfect. He grabbed another two of his grenades and turned the on. He went into the cockpit and cut through it and jumped out.

Once outside of the ship he used the force to push it at her, just as she was pulling it twords her. The two force users made quick work of moving it, right at Shavara. He activated the grenades just as the ship was in front of her. He crouched to block the explosion.

He activated the lightsaber and then went to find what was left. He wouldn't be surprised is she survived. But definitely weakened to a defeatable state.
