The Empire of today was a hollow shell of what it once was 40 years ago, more and more chunks of Imperial territory falling to revolution or ambitious officers striking out to create their own empires and fiefdoms. Aargonar was no different, recently splintering off from a larger Imperial Remnant faction that was making an attempt at holding Sector VI. Mandalorians proved ever an ever dangerous foe to the 'Crimson Dagger' sector, in constant combat to liberate the rest of their home systems. But for this mining world a different threat loomed, an uprising of the local population brought on by a greedy Imperial bureaucrat's exploitative governance of the planet. A call for aid was put out to help squash this rebellion.

The young Axxilan took a swig of a flask in his hand as he stared out across the mining settlement below him. From the Imperial control tower at the centre of the town he could see as huge crowds had begun to swarm towards the tower, stopped only by a thin line of Stormtroopers and Strike Force soldiers. Next to him Major De'needa stood, a rather unappealing man who like his treasury had grown fat from the fruits of the planet. De'needa himself was a weak willed and greedy man, sweating profusely and an anxious expression covered his face. Meanwhile a glance at a uniform and you would think you were looking at a war hero, adorned with medals which he didn't deserve. Kastav was disgusted by the man.

"When will reinforcements arrive?! We need tanks or we'll be overrun!" He said in a hushed but panicked tone. Kastav turned to the man, a look of contempt on his face.

"There are no reinforcements. Reinforcements don't come for officers who break off to declare their own micro-empires to inflate their egos and wallets." Kastav replied before screwing on the flask's lid and sliding it into his overcoat's pocket. Kastav looked the complete opposite of the man, his large dark grey cargo coat hid any semblance that he was an Imperial, the only indicator being the black ISB cap on his head. Had he not been wearing it, he'd easily pass off as one of the many miners rioting against the Imperial forces on the planet.

"Then what? We wait to be slaughtered?!" The Major asked, a rising sense of dread in his voice. The ISB officer turned on his feet and towards the interior of the control tower. He walked straight towards on of the terminals and reaching over the young operator tapped at it until it brought up a tactical map of the riots.

"Didn't they teach you anything back at the Academy Major?" he said before staring at the map "Divide, conquer and
kettle. Separate the crowds into small pockets, keep them contained and wait for them to tire. We'll cordon them in the refinery, spaceport and living quarters."

Major Da'needa looked at the map before speaking as soon as Kastav had outlined his plan. "And this will work?"

Kastav let out a sigh. "What do you think you're paying me for?" The Axxilan replied. Kastav proceeded to head straight towards the hoverlift and spoke as he left. "I'll take the spaceport. Put any competent officers in charge of the other two zones." Before Da'needa could reply back with another worried plea or complaint the hoverlift's doors had already sealed and Kastav was on his way to the surface.

Within 15 minutes Kastav had reached the spaceport zone and the front of the riot. Ahead various garrison forces of Major Da'needa's remnant hid behind shields as rocks and household objects were hurled at their lines while an officer who didn't even look old enough to have graduated from the Academy desperately tried to order his men hold their ground. Chants and cries to end Da'needa's theft of their resources and calls for him to be brought before the mob filled the air.

Between the miners and garrison forces a third group was present and standing twenty odd meters behind the Imperial lines fifteen stormtroopers stood, their armour yellowed and battered from wear. These soldiers were Kastav's own and like him treaded the line between Imperial soldier and mercenary. No self respecting Imperial remnant faction would've responded to the Major's plea for help, better he was crushed by a revolution of his own making than continuing his miserable existence pretending to be a major power in the system. Kastav would've preferred to let him die as well but the Major was a rich man and it didn't take much convincing to have him part with some of his credits in return for support. Of course this wasn't public knowledge, officially they were a quick response force and sanctioned by ISB remnants, it was after all easier to traverse the various remnant factions by waving the seal of the ISB.

"Situation?" Kastav asked as he approached his men.

"I give them an hour boss. An hour then these lot will run back to their homes, burn their uniforms and pretend they never worked for the fat man." One of the troopers piped up as finished reassembling his DLT-19. Kastav knew this sentiment was shared amongst his men, his own intelligence report of the planet indicates almost the entirety of Da'needa's forces were local conscripts. None of them were up to the standard of the Axxilan's grizzled veterans.

Another stood up and spoke.
"So? You give the Major the plan? We getting our pay check for this?"

Kastav nodded. "Wasn't hard to convince Da'needa. We cordon them off from the rest of the riot by the spaceport, customs area should do, rest of his men will do something similar in their own sectors. Once they're contained and start to tire we get the rest of our credits and get off this dustbowl before the Major starts getting second thoughts about how much he's paying us."

Nods of approval and mumbled agreement came from the stormtroopers. "Come on then, get those grenade launchers up, I want concussion into that crowd to start pushing them back." And in an instant all the troopers stood up, slinging their equipment they formed a line and in sync loaded their launchers with concussion rounds. Kastav casually strode ahead of them, pulling an electrobaton from his belt he pushed pass the line of Da'needa's troopers. In an instant Kastav's stormtroopers fired their launchers over the line of riot troopers before following Kastav towards the crowd. The concussion rounds arced high in the sky and into the crowd before detonating into the crowd causing a flurry of chaos, releasing blinding lights, large bangs and leaving the lingering smell in the air. The stormtroopers loaded another round firing a new volley of concussion rounds and soon the crowd began rushing backwards towards the spaceport.

A couple dozen dazed miners remained and Kastav head straight to them, smacking any in his way to the ground. Stepping over expended concussion grenade cannisters Kastav pulled a comm link to his mouth and spoke. "Control, get me XV-60s to Spaceport plaza for prisoner pick-up. Direct your own troops to the spaceport entrance and hovertrain station. I want those rioters funnelled to the customs office." he said firmly before continuing with his men after the rest of the miners, fleeing towards the spaceport.

Come fight for the rebel miners, confront the Imperial's mercenary motivations or any other reason for you to be around on Aagonar. Thread is first reply but if you got more folks you want to bring just send a message.

It wasn't long ago that Vulpesen would have been the one dispatching a company to the surface of Argonar, a place where tyranny had once reigned. A place that now shook of the shackles of such evils and now rose up to protect itself from the evil intentions of an avaricious empire. But now, he stood here with orders of his own. Or at least, suggestions. His children were well aware that any missives sent to their father were to be taken at his leisure given his current posting as a representative to the jedi order and Galactic Alliance as a whole. Still, they also knew that the most famous member of house Torrevaso was willing and eager to remind the galaxy of his and his people's mission to protect the oppressed.

"Sir, stuns landing in the crowd!" Lt. Garlan was one of Vulpesen's most reliable soldiers, and a man he'd come to rely on over the decades. He'd started as a private in his personal guard, and now, fifty years later, stood as the leader of Vulpesen's personal company. Given his tendency towards dancing on the wild side, he was one of the few officers that Vulpesen was sure could keep up with him.

"Trident One will cover from the roofs. Two, I need moving in to intercept their troops. Trident three, get those miners out of there. Hold fire until fired upon! Foxes, keep back with me. You'll be our QRF." Vulpesen, who was watching from the third floor of a nearby office building twitched his tail back and forth as he watched each platoon surge towards their assignments. Whatever officer he was up against was clever, breaking up the crowd before deigning to move in, and it took all of his willpower to leave the initial phase to his men rather than dive down to search for the enemy commander.

Each Platoon is a mixed bag of three squads made of these guys. with a fire team of foxes
Please... don't make me give a man by man break down.. I can but it like kaminoan cloning, it will take more time.

Kastav continued forwards, a line of stormtroopers following behind and whenever the crowd appeared to slow the troopers would launch another salvo of concussion grenades. It was comparatively light work, public order and civil disobedience were some of Kastav's first assignments when he joined the ISB. He enjoyed it, the primal nature of a melee between two opposing sides.

From what the Major had briefed him the rioting forces were only made of disgruntled miners and union leaders. This should've been a cut and dry assignment. Kastav should've realised the Major's 'intelligence' would be far from accurate.

The concussion grenade kicked up more dust and as more of the mob fled backwards the few unlucky enough to be knocked to the ground and disoriented were at the mercy of Kastav and his men. A man struggled to his feet before Kastav, wearing mining equipment and a large hammer gripped in his hand he swung wildly at Kastav, no doubt in some vain attempt to escape his attacker. The Axxillan dodged the hammer quickly but before he could swing his own electrobaton down on the man the miner was knocked to the floor by a crimosn blaster bolt, killing him instantly. Looking to his right one of his stormtroopers stood, weapon held high and barrel smoking.

"Can't let the vermin swing at you and only get away with a smack on the wrist." he replied in a macabre tone. Kastav let out a soft chuckle before stepping over the man's lifeless corpse. He had barely taken another four steps and was about to order his men to fire another volley until he stopped in his tracks. The troopers stopped behind him, curious the Sergeant spoke up.

"What's up boss?" Kastav didn't reply immediately, instead scanning his surroundings, the streets which a few minutes ago were hosting a rioting mob was dead quiet.

"The mob is gone..." he said slowly. "They should be just ahead of us but they've disappeared." It was unlikely that they had already reached the customs area, a large and un-organized mob was too slow to have already escaped them. Kastav grabbed his commlink and after turning it on, it came to life with dozens of voices speaking and shouting over each other, calls for help, reinforcements and advice. Kastav was only able to make out a few words in the chaos but he got all the information he needed. Another group was present, and they appeared on the side of the rioters.

He turned to his men and immediately began barking orders. "We got company and it's not the rioters. Back to the tower, we'll regroup an-" but before he could finish his statement on of his troopers had interrupted him.

"Sir! I got unidentified soldiers with blasters down the road!"

Another shouted immediately after that. "Got more on the roof." and in an instant all the troopers had their blasters raised. Kastav turned to stare down the street and he could make out roughly a platoon of soldiers setting up down the road and these were no local rebels. On the terraces and roofs above them more movement. They had been funnelled down and into a kill zone. Kastav reached for his blaster pistol and signalled for his troopers to take cover. Immediately the stormtroopers complied, setting up what few heavy weapons they had and taking up positions behind any hard cover in the streets. Kastav remained standing in the middle of their street. If a fight broke out now he and his men would be cut down, they were outnumbered and outgunned. But if he could stall, get enough time for the XV-60a 01x APCs who were collecting the prisoners much further behind to move up they might stand a chance.

He turned to one of his men and spoke in a hushed but hurried tone. "Zim, get the XVs and Da'needa's men who are with it up here now." The stormtrooper gave a quick nod and after standing up from his firing position, ran straight down the way they came. With all the chaos on the net, Kastav doubted any call for reinforcement he gave through the commlink would bear any fruit, a runner was far more reliable.

The Axxilan with his hand clutched tight around his blaster turned back down the road and began to shout. "To any and all armed members of the riot! Under Aagonar law executed by the office of Major Lans Da'needa bearing arms against Imperial authorities is a sentence that carries the penalty of 30 years of hard labour!" Kastav stared down the road, scanning for any reaction.

"We are... Willing to discuss the terms of your surrender!" he shouted once more. He knew his terms were ridiculous but he just needed to buy time.

Don't have an NPC sub for the conscripts but you can just assume that they're no better than cannon fodder, armed poorly, trained poorly and with low morale. Also no need for the man by man break down, I got an idea of how the platoons are set up.

Vulpesen's ears flicked tot he imperial as he began his address. With the distance, it required some use of the force to enhance his senses to fully hear what was being said. Thankfully, he managed to not miss anything important. It was as he expected, the imperial officer on an imperial expected the non-imperial combatants to surrender on pain of imprisonment. In truth, it wasn't a horrible assumption, and Vulpesenw as only surprised that he was being offered a thirty year prison sentence instead of death. Well that's rather dull, he thought. Once upon a time, his enemies would have gone into great detail about how they intended to eviscerate him. It appeared as though the galaxy was getting more polite. "If he wants to Parlay, I'll not begrudge him," He spoke to the Lieutenant at his side. "Send two teams to those transports. I want them empty." He clicked into his comlink, giving his final orders before stepping to the window. "Get Wild dogs to fry the transports. Mind the civies."

Kastav's challenge, after perhaps too eerie of a silence would finally be met with two responses. Infront of him and his squad of troopers, the winged black clad form of Vulpesen would appear, shooting out of a window and held aloft by his ravenwing pack as the force amplified his voice to echo through the street. "I am Vulpesen Torrevaso, representative of the Vitae Alliance with the Trident Company of the Royal Guard. I must warn you that Tyrants captured by my people may face any and all punishment up to and including the death penalty! The people of Aagonar have spoken. They want you to leave!"

The secondary response happened as Vulpesen jumped from the window, and while it carried no words, the message was clear. A flurry of blue tipped grenades flew through the air, launched by the grenadiers of the squads towards the transports. Of course, the Vitae Forces weren't so callous as to murder the prisoners they had been sent to rescue, but a flurry of EMP rounds would certainly hamper any attempts to relocate them to a penal institution.

(Sorry for all the broken subs. My stuffs been around for a while. Also, feel free to buss in more reinforcements. Wasn't expecting a platoon of conscripts when I brought in a Company)

The Axxilan stared out in the street waiting for the response, the silence in the air being broken by the growing rumbling of the APCs and the marching of troops right behind them. As the APCs grew ever closer Kastav prepared to begin giving fire control orders until a voice broke the calm of the stand-off between the two sides.

The Vitae Alliance. Kastav had heard of them before, buried deep in the ISB archives a folder on them. A militant organization and most importantly, aligned with the Alliance. He listened as Vulpesen laid out his own terms, leave the planet or face death. Kastav didn't like to hear those words, not that the prospect of death scared him but instead he was worried about what Major Da'needa would do. He had no doubt if the Major believed all was lost he would flee the planet, with all the contents of the treasury.

Kastav watched as the Veradune leaped down and trailing him dozens of grenades arced towards the two APCs. Four hit the first XV-60 and Kastav watched as it stopped motionless in it's tracks, lifeless. The second APC travelling faster had it's own salvo of grenades hit it and after overloading its system the XV sped up and veered uncontrollably into a one of the buildings in the streets before grinding to a halt.

"Steady men! Steady!" Kastav heard barked from behind the two now lifeless XV-60s, no doubt the Aargonar's platoon commander struggling to keep his men in line. Frustration filled him, he was going to have to depend on the conscripts and they were barely even capable of policing a few disgruntled miners. Kastav turned to Corporal Zim who had re-joined the squad. "Get more men routed here, and get the Apostate in the air." he ordered before taking another step forward.

"Leave?" he said calmly. "Afraid my orders are clear." As he spoke the shaken conscripts who had arrived with the APCs were now starting to take up their own positions. Looking back at his men Zim gave him a nod and gave a hand signal two more platoons were enroute. More importantly the Apostle was airborne.

Kastav grinned slightly before regaining his composure. "Now we can trade insults and parlay all day but while appearing armed before myself is punishable by hard labour, starting a revolution, well..." he trailed off. In an instant he raised his blaster pistol and squeezed the trigger, firing straight at Vulpesen and his advanced party. In an instant the rest of the Imperial troops followed suite and a arcs of blaster fire streaked down the street. The stormtroopers followed the volley with heavy machine gun bursts from a DLT-19, followed up by their grenade launchers, this time loaded with detonators.

Meanwhile the air was filled by the iconic but eery screech of a TIE class craft. The Apostle trailed by two TIE fighters began circling high above, priming their weapons and identifying targets. Kastav's plan was simple, fix the enemy in place then overwhelm the with his reinforcements and the air wing.

The first to die was the trooper that had shot down the miner only a couple minutes beforehand. his crime had been seen, remembered, and unforgiven. The only mercy offered him would have been a quick end as skull and brain matter were scattered out the side of his helmet by a verpine sniper round. Then the real fight began. The initial burst from the Vitae Troops, despite their overwhelming numbers was smaller than that of the imperials as the Alsatian troops activated the shield function of their rifles to help their squadmates to cover.

On a more individual note, Vulpesen had been fighting in wars against Sith and Mandalorians for decades, likely longer than this commander had even been alive. Longer perhaps than even his parents had roamed the galaxy. A single blaster bolt was nothing and Vulpesen simply lifted an arm, letting the energy scatter harmlessly against his cloak. The Varos cloak had been designed to survive lightsabers. A blaster pistol was nothing against it.

And with that, the battle had begun. Vitae Grenadiers returned fire in kind, wolves fired away with heavy repeaters, and coyotes sniped at any target that left cover, taking special pleasure in removing troopers that seemed to be ushering out commands. Vulpesen, such a juncture would have focused himself on the commander, dive bombing Kastav with an idea of lethal efficiency. The current situation however, removed that plan from his arsenal. The circling fighters were a problem and Vulpesen was well aware that air superiority would be a problem if he didn't act fast. "Get me Two Lupas in the air!"

The Transports, while not ideal for air-combat, were capable enough to at least provide support for the wilder as he angled himself towards one of the fighters and gunned the jets on his pack. He knew he was good. Now it was time to find out if he was good enough to dogfight without a fighter. Hopefully, he could at least hold his own until his own gunships arrived. He also, had to hope that two would be enough to even the odds. There were plenty more, but he figured it would be best not to risk bringing attention to his and his company's rides off the planet.

Blaster bolts began streaking past Kastav who after ducking under one, dived behind an abandoned land speeder which already were sheltering two of his men. Even through all the blaster fire and carnage the only thing he could think about was that damn Major. Had he known he would be fighting a war he would've at least brought more than his blaster pistol. He looked to the troopers next to him who were returning fire.

"Apostle is indicating enemy air is spinning up." Zim said, holding a radio handset. Kastav's imagined this would've happened, you don't smuggle a small army onto a planet without having your own ships.

The other, Corporal Fidell was firing away with his DLT. "Sir we should bug out while we can. I was told we were fighting rioters, not reb-" his words cut off as a clean sniper shot nailed him in the head, shattering his helmet.

"Man down!" Screamed Zim and within an instant one of the stormtroopers, armour adorned with green markings sprinted across the street to Kastav and Zim, diving into the cover as the blaster bolts ricocheted on the streets all around. It was the team medic and she crawled on her belly to Fidell's lifeless body. She shook her head as soon she got close, taking off her medical pack. "I don't even have to check boss, he's a goner." she said before moving his corpse aside and attatching a sling around him.

Kastav signalled to another of his Stormtroopers over who quickly grabbed Fidell's DLT and continued laying down the suppressive fire he was giving a moment ago. At the same time the medic dragged the dead trooper's lifeless corpse by the sling to behind one the knocked out APCs. "We're gonna get ripped up out here." Kastav said in a hushed town, he turned to Zim and spoke. "Get Apostle to start hammering their positions." he ordered Zim. On his own shortwave commlink he spoke to the control tower. "Tower where are my reinforcements!" and after a few seconds a female voice replied.

"Besh and Dorn platoons are arriving shortly." Finally some good news. "Uh Agent, the Major is suggesting we pull back to the Tower, he says we need to evacu-"

"NO! Do not evacuate!" Kastav shouted into the commlink. "You tell that sithspit we are not leaving!" he continued. "Get Besh and Dorn to advance with their APCs onto the enemy positions!"

Kastav put the commlink away and looked to the conscripts who were taking cover behind to the APCs, they were beginning to sustain casualties but he couldn't afford for them to just cower behind cover. "Keep your base of fire up! Besh and Dorn are advancing!" as he spoke from the other street two XV-60s with 30 men huddled behind each and following closely advanced, the rapid fire laser cannons opening up on any movement ahead of them as they intended to get as close as they can before deploying their troops on top of the enemy position.

The sound of the APCs rumbling in Kenth's ear was soon replaced by Zims voice, speaking into a commlink to the pilots. "Apostate 3-1, Apostle 2-3, requesting Type 1, IP Tower. Bearing one, eight, six. Distance..." he said before tapping a datapad screen showing the distance from the Control Tower to the Vitae Alliance positions. "800 meters. Target elevation, 85 meters. Targets are a cluster of red buildings, grid reference: six, eight, zero, six, four, eight. Marked with red smoke!" after he spoke the trooper on the DLT, turned and grabbed a grenade launcher and after loading a smoke round, fired it with the round arcing high in the sky before landing just ahead of the red buildings. "Friendlies are..." Zim peaked his head above his cover and immediately a verpine round shattered next to his head, causing him to duck. "110 meters north of target by knocked out XV-60s, marked by blue smoke." he continued before grabbing a blue smoke grenade from his belt and tossing it by the two disabled APCs. "Approach two, eight, five, egress zero, four, five. Say ready for remarks." and after a brief pause and the response of the pilot Zim continued on. "Strafing run with twin linked laser cannons. Targets are in and around the building." he finished off before setting the headset down. "Friendly air coming in danger close!" he shouted across to his squad.

Kastav grinned and gave him a nod before turning to sit firmly behind the speeder, staring up in the sky he could make out 3 dots getting larger and larger as they approached. Then a sight he didn't expect, the Veradune he was talking to before had leaped into the air, flying towards the fighters. Kastav grabbed the handset out of Zim's hands and spoke. "Apostle 3-1. Preacher 1-1, Enemy airborne troop moving to intercept you!" Instantly one of the two TIE fighters broke off from the attack run and headed straight towards Vulpesen while the Apostate and other TIE fighter continued on their attack run. As the Apostle approached it began opening fire into the area around the Red Smoke while the TIE fighter after Vulpesen began firing at the airborne Veradune.

In an instant, the street had become a warzone and Vulpesen's mind had begun to race through the variables of combat. His men below him were veteran infantry of dozens if not hundreds of battles, some having fought for centuries. Superior numbers by inferior forces were only a mild concern. The roar of enemy ships however, was a true danger.

Rooftops blew apart as laser cannons ripped throughs teel and duracrete. Vulpesen could hear several the screams for backup and medics buzzing through the comms system as squads scurried for cover, but he knew there was nothing to do but trust them to persevere. While most troops focused on their infantry contacts, the Wild dogs and Wolves from all around trained their weapons on the sky firing missiles and powered shots at the vehicles to test their shields and hulls. 'I need to invest in some AA,' the Zorren thought, a sentiment punctuated by a streak of crimson that soared past his right side, causing him to flip and look behind him. "Crux!"

His wings fluttered and Vulpesen danced through the air, flipping, diving, and falling in erratic patterns as the tie fighter chased him down. "Blast, crux, kriff, damn!" He rolled again and extended a hand, feeling the heat of laser cannons that scorched inches from his body. With a series of loud cracks, a half dozen "feathers" launched themselves from the wings of his ravenpack, the titanium blades shooting out with a well practiced display of ballisticians towards the view port and the joint of the right wing. Frankly, he wasn't sure what the effect would be, but he figured it was worth a shot.
