Faction Midvinter In Summer (NJO)

swQZVZB.png

Midvinter is a beautiful world of eternal winter. Not the harsh winter of Hoth, and certainly not a gentle winter, but one that could be appreciated. With the Planetshift bringing discord to so many worlds, the New Jedi Order decided to send some of the Jedi to check on their long standing friends and allies, both to help if it was needed and for the younger generation of Jedi to learn. There are many cultures on Midvinter alone to learn from, and knowledge is the most important asset a Jedi can have in the coming troubles.

Objective 1: Capital Idea

Heavenheim is the vast capital of Midvinter. Home to the Heavenshield family and many of the Valkyri, there's plenty to do. Help the locals where needed, learn about the culture they hold, and explore the city. Perhaps you might even find yourself meeting Royalty.

Objective 2: The Ice Shapers

The peaceful yet mighty Beorni have reached out in more recent years to mingle with the other species of Midvinter and beyond. Having found some of the lost arts of their ice shaping ways they've begun to sculpt grand structures and their own major city. Take the time to learn from them, their connection to what they call the Spirits will surely give some insight to the young Jedi still finding their own way.

BYOB: Midvinter Is A Big Place

There are more cultures and more locations all across the world to explore. See what you can find, just don't end up getting frozen or lost.

A Meditation on the Snow

TAG: Open

Jonyna had never been one for winter. Cathar didn't really have winter, instead a heavy monsoon season that flooded the rainforests and fed the savannah.

And yet, Jonyna heralded herself as the 'Eye of the Storm'.

Midvinter had always been in the edge of her awareness. She had long known about the Heavanshields, as they had been there on Coruscant, and friends of the Nobles.

But she had never had the chance to meet them. She never had the chance to commune with their planet.

With everything going on in her life, with heartbreak and stress, occasionally Jonyna found herself in need of meditation. Today, she had ventured out into the middle of the wilderness. Sitting idly in a snowdrift, eyes closed.

She wanted to listen to her oldest friend.

The Force itself.

Lygala, the Storm of Life.

If only it wasn't so farking cold...

Snow was not common on Dathomir. It was relegated to the peaks of mountains, places one typically dare not tread lest they come face to face with a Chirodactyl dwelling in the cavernous heights. It was for that reason that Saphira had never seen snow up close and personal, only ever experiencing it from a distance. This place seemed to simply have plentiful scatterings between green spaces, a sight that was peculiar to the young woman. The entire city was a feast for the eyes. Alien architecture, two towering statues off in the distance that seemed carry a profound presence...

And this place was cold. Saphira didn't mind that. She had inscribed one of her earring tags with runes to ward off the cold, so she wasn't in any need to bundle up. Instead she could simply exist in the presence of this strange new place. Between Tython, Coruscant, and now this Midvinter planet, the young witch was already experiencing more new environments than any other point in her life.

First thing she had to experience was snow.

Saphira couched down, reaching out to a fresh patch of snow gathered in a grassy area off to the side of a stone road. It was icy, yet soft. After prodding it for a moment, however, a slight frown came to her face.

She had absolutely no idea what she was even supposed to do with it.

"Be mindful of those around you, don't just go running off." It was a pointless request, Kahlil knew. Already Aeryn and Adam were off in a flurry of snow, giggling happily as they quickly traveled to each stall. They seemed to divide the work, exchanging unspoken words on which stall was their combined favorite. Which food had their interest, which toys or activities would be the most fun.

A Force bond that could only come from twins.

Kahlil's expression softened before he glanced to Yvaine. Like the others, she was bundled up, though perhaps far more than the triplets were. Overprotection, or just wanting to make sure his little princess was as cute as could be? Let the judges decide, not that there were any. "They'll be fine." He reassured himself of that, which was responded with a bubbly laugh from the littlest Noble.

He smiled soft and warm before glancing back towards Valery. Vera and Aris were off to explore, learn as Jedi should for now, but later there would be time for the whole family.

"Do you see anything that stands out? Something you might want before we go and meet the King?"

The cold really didn't bother Aris as much as it should these days. He glanced around through the snow, his body faintly glowing red where it was exposed. There was no bundling up for him, no need to put all those extra layers on to slow him down. It felt like a life time ago that he had been working on this ability to stay warm, and now it was as passive as breathing.

Grant it, he wasn't here to learn more on Tapas. There was an inverse to how he could heat up his body, letting him chill and even outright freeze that which he touched if he focused on it. There had to be something he could learn from the Beorni here. Him and Zaiya Ceti Zaiya Ceti . He glanced towards her, giving a brief smile.

It would be good to learn with her for once.

"Do you think we're close, Master?" They weren't the only two to head this way. His gaze shifted further to Aadihr Lidos Aadihr Lidos , watching the man for a moment. A lot had changed. From when Azurine Varek Azurine Varek had been captured, from that battle where she'd been lost. For all of them. But he wasn't going to let that have them drift if he could help it.

HEAVENHEIM (OBJ I)

A part of him did not want to be here.

This was not a negative at all. The Heavenshields were “Family” in every sense of the word. That is why he has put so much pressure on himself still out there following every lead he can to find “Aunt Coci”. What would “Uncle Thurion” say to him? “You don’t have to do this…” Connel knew this, and not just because The Lion King said it to him at Thirdas Heavenshield Thirdas Heavenshield and Nida’s wedding either. The family had done so much for the galaxy, in Connel’s opinion the favor needed to be returned.

Come on, buddy. Of course he had “Buster” with him, the “Gallie” loved it here and of course everyone knew him. So they “made the rounds” of the local shops, and the pup filled up on treats and even looked longingly as the Noble twins ran by giggling. He watched them for a moment, a small smile tugging at his lips. Despite the weight on his shoulders, these moments reminded him of what he was fighting for—family, connection, and a future worth protecting. Don’t worry. Playtime is coming.

Aadihr walked silently save for the crunching of the snow beside the others. Not lost in thought. Quite the opposite — his mind was clear. True, he could not keep himself warm with Tapas, but the cold was just another thing he could choose to feel. So he felt the cold willingly - letting himself be aware of when he needed to warm himself to avoid frostbite.

"Do you think we're close, Master?"

Aris Noble Aris Noble expressed interest in learning from the Beorni, and it was a simple thing to include amongst the trip the rest of his family had been planning. They were easy enough to spot, snow and distance were no barrier to Aadihr's Sight.

"Just over this ridge" Aadihr replied, finding slight satisfaction in the miniscule changes in auras as the others crested and saw for themselves. Surely they were used to it, but it brought fond memories of the colors of childlike wonder from the auras of other Padawans.

Aadihr pivoted his mind's eye to check if Brander Brander was doing alright with the snow and the cold.

Valery watched as Aeryn and Adam darted off into the snow, their laughter like music against the cold Midvintir air. Her eyes followed them for a moment, the corners of her mouth tugging into a fond smile. "Very much Nobles," she mused, chuckling softly. "Stubborn and impossible to keep still."

She adjusted her hold on Eryx, who nestled comfortably against her chest, his little hands tucked warmly into her coat as he peered out with wide eyes at the festive scene around them. He was content, for now, lulled by the rhythm of her heartbeat and the quiet murmur of the crowd.

At her side, Aurra clung to her hand, her smaller fingers curling into Valery's glove. The quieter of the triplets, she didn't chase after the others — she took everything in, thoughtful and observant, her eyes bright with curiosity.

"Mommy?" Aurra asked, tilting her head up, her voice soft but hopeful. "Do you think there's Tauntauns here?"

Valery blinked, then laughed warmly, brushing her thumb gently across the back of Aurra's hand. "Tauntauns, huh? I don't know, sweetheart, but it's possible. They do like cold places like this." She leaned down slightly, her voice playful. "We'll have to keep an eye out, won't we?"

Aurra nodded, blue eyes shining with excitement as she scanned the snowy streets like a little hunter on a mission.

They moved slowly, the snow crunching beneath their boots as the vibrant stalls and shops spilled light and color into the dusky air. Valery's gaze drifted across the displays — from handwoven scarves to delicate glass ornaments — until something caught her eye.

A necklace.

Simple, yet stunning. A thin silver chain, from which hung a small, intricately crafted pendant shaped like a star, its surface catching the light with every subtle movement. It wasn't over the top, just elegant — the kind of piece that spoke quietly of beauty rather than shouting it.

She slowed, her eyes lingering.

Kahlil's question echoed back in her mind.

"That," she murmured, nodding slightly toward the necklace. "That stands out." Her smile softened as she looked at him, warmth blooming in her chest not from the cold, but from moments like this. "What about you? Anything catch your eye before we go meet the King?"

"Pappa?"

Nina Heavenshield Nina Heavenshield gave a gentle knock on the door to her father's chambers, pushing it open to find him over by the window, having watched the arrival of Jedi vessels make their landings. He'd especially noted the Nobles' arrival, what with the swarm of little ones accompanying them. That brought a smile to the old man, knowing he'd see them all soon.

On his desk beside him there stood a holo-device, still switched on. Nina stepped around the desk to find the likeness of her mother — the last recording of her. She looked to her father, then moved to switch off the projector. Only then did Thurion turn his head, and the two made eye contact. Nina stepped towards him and put her arms around him from behind, only able to wrap herself around his waist.

"I'm okay," said the High King. She knew better, but didn't press the subject. "I came to check on whether you're ready. Uncle Bors, bless his heart, couldn't make it up the stairs." Almost two centuries will do that to you.

"I'm not wearing that thing," he motioned towards the crown left sitting on his bed. "They're my grandchildren; they came to see their grandpapa, not some king." Nina tugged on his arm. "Not some king. The King," she corrected like the headmaster she was, then proceeded to adjust the fur cloak around his shoulders and running her fingers through his hair.

Thurion remained still while she worked, staring down into the face of his eldest. His little girl. Once satisfied, Nina met her father's loving gaze with those big blues of hers, ever in awe of the man who saved her on Umbara a lifetime ago. She relented, and hugged him as tight as humanly possible.

rwERnRN.png

"Uncle Bors," the Lion greeted the ancient man upon descending the stairs to find him waiting at the bottom. Nina held onto his arm. Bors was hunched over, clearly frustrated with his infirmity, leaning on his staff. "Sire, your visitors have arrived and are making their way here. Your dawdling is only saved by their decision to stop by the marketplace," the surly old man admonished his nephew.

Thurion merely smiled and leaned in to kiss Bors on his bald spot. "Pace yourself, Seneschal. Rest those weak knees of yours." Bors glared then at Nina, looking none-too-pleased to learn she'd tattled on him. She too placed a kiss upon him, which seemed to melt the old man's bitterness somewhat. At his behest, the front gates of the palace were thrown open and the High King and his daughter stepped outside into the chill of winter.

One could see the entire city from atop the hill, stretching on for miles; its various districts, its walls and towers, and the vast ocean to the west. The town square in particular was easy enough to spot, as it was the most crowded with the least structures. The King stood and basked in the light of the sun for a moment, then started making it down the hill, following the main road with Nina in tow.

Brander padded after the others, shivering despite the stack of mismatched layers he'd managed to throw on. He'd bundled himself like a badly wrapped package, but it didn't seem to help much. The cold clawed right through the fabric, biting at his skin. He hugged his arms tightly around his chest, trying to trap what little warmth he had left.

It didn't escape his notice , not for a second , how Aris and his Master moved through the frozen air like it was nothing. They looked almost graceful against the bleak backdrop, unbothered, as if winter itself respected them enough to step aside. Meanwhile, Brander felt like a clumsy stray, trotting along just to keep up, flushed and miserable and wishing he could shrink down into his clothes and disappear.

He watched them with a mix of awe and silent frustration. How did they make it look so easy? Some part of him burned to be that strong, that steady... to glide through hardship without flinching. He was determined not to whine about it, even as his nose turned pink and his fingers grew stiff.

Still, a small, traitorous thought crossed his mind as he trudged after them:

Maybe they're part ice spirit.

The idea almost made him smile. Almost.

Brander tucked his chin down against the wind, wobbling a little as he quickened his pace. If he just kept moving...Maybe he could pretend, even if it was the worst acting job in history , that he was just as tough as they were.

A loyal little shadow, shivering but determined. He'd be fine. He always found a way to be.

Anyone who saw Reina at first might have assumed she was passed out in the snow, facedown and laying still...That is until they'd get closer and hear the sounds of manic giggles escaping her mouth alongside the sudden movement of her making a snow angel in the cold. Swinging her arms and legs back and forth before rolling herself onto her back, staring up at the sky with bright red cheeks and a nose to rival the redness of her own hair. A content grin spread across her face as she watched the clouds go by, feeling the chill of the snow against her.

It wasn't the ocean, or even a pond, far from it but snow meant water. She was in her own element in a way. The woman just wanted to sink deeper and deeper into the snow...but she knew that the longer she laid here, the more likely she'd get sick as Reina clambered up to her feet and focused on the Spirit, and the moisture inside of her clothes before she manipulated the water out, letting it drip back into the snow.

She wasn't here just for enjoyment. Reina wanted to learn more of the ways of the Spirit, of the Force. Reina was sure that the Beorni's spirit was different to the one she believed in, but as she walked through the snow, listening to the crunch of her boots, she couldn't help but wonder if they were that different. The Spirit was the Force. And many different groups had another name for the Force. So perhaps the Spirit of the Sea she believed in wasn't so different to the Spirit that the Beorni believed in. It was a sign of her growth, that she was now thinking of other cultures. How they believed in the same thing as her....Either way, Reina was ready to learn.

"Damn. It's...pretty cold here."

That was Shan. Pointing out the obvious. He had never visited Midvinter himself before. Nor did he know a lot about the Heavenshields, he knew they were a great people at the very least. At the very least, this could help him learn more about the cultures and people of the Galaxy, but more importantly it let him spend time with an old friend. He hadn't had a proper talk with Katherine Holt Katherine Holt in...a long time. Was it her knighting ceremony? He couldn't quite remember. The main thing he remembered was seeing her new height and feeling...very inadequate amongst all of the ex-Noble Padawans now. But no! He was a perfectly fine height. He wasn't small! No. Shan was amongst giants. That was it.

"So...How have you been? Picked out any Padawans of your own yet? Or...have you just been staying to yourself? Sometimes I feel like that could be more enjoyable. I've been getting pulled in all directions. I mean, it's partly my own fault but..."

He was rambling. Mostly to fill the air with something apart from the frigid cold. Shan just took in the sight of the buildings as he brought his hands up to his face to blow into them, to try and keep them warm. Hands were a doctor's most vital tools at the end of the day, and one of the most valuable for a Jedi's as well. It was nice to finally relax though, instead of taking trips around the Galaxy trying to find out about people and getting dragged into some kind of battle or crime happening. Today it was just all about him relaxing. And he guessed it was also about spending time with Kat as he looked up at her.

"...I still can't get over how tall you are."

"For me? No, no." Kahlil shook his head. It wasn't his birthday that was coming up after all, there was no reason for him to want anything here. Grant it, he might, but he wasn't looking. His gaze shifted down to Aurra, watching as she studied the world around them. Not just for Tauntaun's, he knew. A clever diversion, if also true to what she wanted.

"What of you, Aurra? Anything catch your eye?"

Azurine wasn't necessarily sure if she was supposed to be here or not. Aadihr Lidos Aadihr Lidos had taken Aris Noble Aris Noble , Zaiya Ceti Zaiya Ceti , and another young man she had yet to meet ( Brander Brander if she remembered the name correctly) to go learn from the Ice Shapers, she believed, but she had decided to head for the capital. Maybe against her better judgment since she hadn't actually been given a formal invitation for any royal audience.

Recovery had been a long road, one she hadn't been nearly as prepared for as she had hoped she would have been. While she looked much less ragged and gaunt than she had in recent days, the darker bags under her violet eyes and the way she occasionally struggled to keep her pace consistent certainly gave her away. However, the uncertainty was less about her ordeal and more about whether or not she was actually welcome. Thurion Heavenshield Thurion Heavenshield had told her once that she was welcome at the castle anytime, but that seemed like so long ago now, and so much had changed...

The cold air whipping at her face and the soft purring chitter of her young racyon companion, Cinnamon, who was nestled across her shoulders, pulled her from her deep thoughts. A mind that raced faster than her already unstoppable spirit, which wasn't always a good thing. She pulled her cloak tighter around her, causing Cinnamon to squeak in protest, her biological hand clasped around the Ukatis talisman hung from her neck.

Reaching into her belt pockets while she wove through the many shops and stalls around, Azzie pulled out a small bag filled with blueberries and nuts. Cinnamon's head immediately perked up, nose sniffing and little hands kneading at her shoulder like a frantic bakery owner.

"You've become more like a whole shawl than a little scarf when you're doing that now, you know." She said with a soft chuckle, handing the racyon a couple treats.

Before she had the time to react, though, Cinnamon's ears perked up, and she practically launched herself off Azzie's shoulders and onto the snow-covered ground. She muttered a couple of curses in Zabraki, losing her balance from the sudden momentum and landing butt-first into the snow behind her. As she clamored to her feet, brushing cold flakes off of her, she turned to see that her companion had made a beeline towards a familiar dog, Buster, and was currently making playful bows and chittering. She sure had come out of her shell since her kit days (well, depending on the situation, at least).

"Connel, right?" Though phrased as a question, Azzie spoke the words as more of a statement. She wasn't always the best with names and hoped if she was wrong she'd be corrected, but she usually always knew a face. His was one she knew well by now. "Sorry about Cinnamon; she's just been a little cooped up recently."

Zaiya's steps were light in the snow, the cold not nearly as biting for her as it might have been for others. Dresh Lovalla like her were built for this kind of environment, their physiology able to handle the chill better than most. Midvinter was a cold world, but Zaiya had a natural ability to handle brutal cold temperatures as a Dresh Lovalla. None the less, she was still dressed warmly, Domxite at her shoulder, and her satchel at her back, with the clump of ice crystals the Lovalla Padawan had discovered along with Aris Noble Aris Noble several months ago.

This was her first time in Midvinter, but ARis had spoken about the world and why it was important to the Noble Family. They were here with Aris's Master, Aadihr Lidos Aadihr Lidos , as well as another Padawan, someone new Zaiya hadn't properly been introduced yet, Brander Brander . Zaiya shinnied a happy smile back at Aris but then noticed that Brander was shivering.

While Aris talked with his master on how much longer before they arrived, Zaiya paused to try and waited for Brander to catch up, offering a warm, if concerned, expression. His face was flushed, his shoulders hunched against the wind, and the way he tugged at his layers made it clear he wasn't comfortable in the cold.

She didn't have to read his emotions to know something was off. The Force hummed around him, colors rippling like waves across her own skin. A pale blue of frustration mixed with an underlying hint of determination. He was trying hard to keep up and Zaiya could sense the discomfort in every shiver.

"Hey, are you okay?"
she asked, her voice soft, warm despite the cold. Her skin shimmered with a gentle glow, shifting to a soft, soothing bronze as she reached out with the Force, trying to ease some of the chill from his body. "Do you need some help staying warm?"

A pause then she added with a rock of her feet, "Oh, I'm Zaiya by the way., and this is Domxite" pointing to the small paint splattered droid at her shoulder who also beamed through the Force a concerned hello.

Valery smiled softly, watching Kahlil as he shook his head, his attention shifting to Aurra. The little girl was still scanning the snowy market like a vigilant little scout, but when her father spoke, her head snapped up, eyes wide and bright.

"Hmmff," Aurra pondered aloud. Then, without warning, she darted around Valery's side and tugged on her father's arm with both hands until he leaned down close enough for her to whisper. She cupped her hands around his ear, glancing up quickly to make sure Mom wasn't listening, before whispering urgently, "It's Mommy's birthday soon. We need to get her gifts." Another glance, another whisper, "Maybe something pretty, or a cute plushie! Mommy likes those." She pulled back with a nod like it was a sacred mission.

Valery watched them curiously, one eyebrow raised but amused, pretending not to notice their little scheme.

Not far off, Aeryn and Adam had paused in their snowy antics, standing shoulder to shoulder, eyes locked on something — or rather, someone — up the road.

Thurion Heavenshield Thurion Heavenshield

"Is that…?" Adam squinted, then grinned wide.

Aeryn's eyes lit up, and a mischievous spark passed between them. "Snowball time?" she asked, already bending down to scoop up a handful of snow.

"Yeah!" Adam smirked, doing the same.

Together, the twins darted off, weaving through the light crowd, snowballs in hand, giggling with mischief as they set their sights on the unsuspecting King. A noble target for a Noble prank.

Sitting on a bench, sharing a small bag of bite sized pastries with his best friend made for a good time. He smiled and acknowledged (properly) to those who had recognized him from previous visits, of course making sure to say “Hiiii” to Buster, Connel was working up the nerve to see if the Thurion Heavenshield Thurion Heavenshield was indeed in. Even if he was reticent to go against his self imposed exile, the thought of being here without a visit went against not only how he was raised, but the thought of how the Lion King, or any of the family would receive this was unacceptable. It was just a matter of getting over himself.

Stupid anxiety. You’re lucky, Buster, you don’t have it.. The Gallinorese Mountain Aak Dog was the epitome of the moniker “Social Butterfly”. In many ways he was teaching his best friend how to be more social, while having a great hooman to be around. Of course every now and then, the mischievous side of him would surface.

Like now.

Perking up suddenly, Buster looked off in the distance, and tore off about twenty feet. Just enough time for Connel to jump to his feet, and see a Racyon. A chubby reddish Racyon that was making chitter introductions. They seemed to want to suddenly become playmates. This made the Shadow smile as he knew that Buster missed his best friend “Pip”, and while this one may not completely fill the void, it would be a good day for him.

"Connel, right?"

Heh, Father and his formalities. Caltin was the one who was all about respecting the station and addressing each other (at least publicly) in that respect. Connel? Meh…

Yep, unless my Mother has something to tell me. He smirked, but it was more out of the mood he was put in watching the two little buddies run around playing. Her apology was a courtesy, no doubt, but wasn’t necessary. Naw… he could use the workout.

ON CUE… Buster stopped and looked at his hooman “tilt headed”. You heard me! You’re becoming a little lazybutt.

In a move that would support that this breed of Aak Dog is fluent in Galactic Basic, Buster hopped up on his hind legs and then bounded down with a “woof” that would look like he simply said “Rude” and went back to playing with Cinammon. Connel couldn’t do anything but laugh.

He glanced, briefly, towards Zaiya as she walked towards Brander. Always the one to try and help. It brought a brief smile, but he turned his gaze to Aadihr. He didn't need to let his attention drift all over the place, right? "Do you know the Beorni? I haven't heard much of them myself, but apparently there were a couple Jedi in the past."

A ball of fire erupted shortly after he spoke, dive bombing from above. Cinder, the flaming bird, calmly landed on his shoulder after the display, idly picking at a loose feather before nestling comfortably. They were relaxed as ever, even on such a frozen world.

Jedi Robes w/ winter gear

"Looks like we meet again," Mykel called out from a short distance behind her, sitting back on his winterized speeder bike.

As per usual, he was dressed in his black Jedi robes, but this time he wore a thermal bodyglove as the base layer, and had accessorized with wompa wool gloves, beanie, and scarf. For now, he was comfortable, but he had packed even heavier gear on the back of his bike just in case.

He hoped it didn't seem like he was following her around the galaxy, though the Beorni had always intrigued him. He had first heard of them on Kashyyyk as a youngling at the old Silver Rest, told stories of them by Valkyri Rangers. A great ancient race of craftsmen who were deeply spiritual. They had assisted the Valkyri on their first steps to civilization. He was especially interested in their conceptions of Spirits, the Padawan attempting to expand his own understanding of the Force by studying other traditions.

He inched his speeder a little closer. Her demeanor was quite different than the first time he had met her on Endor, much less sullen. Even exuberant, if he dared. However, he wondered if that was because she really liked the snow, or had been alone until now. Would she still be surly in his presence?

"I hope I'm not interrupting - I take it you were on your way to the Beorni as well? Care for some company?"

He wouldn't be too bothered if she wanted to hoof it alone, but it was always fun to experience new things with a peer.

The aging king, dutifully escorted by his eldest child, made his way down the slope towards the town square, leaving his heavy heart within the confines of the palace where it could not come between himself and his adopted grandchildren of House Noble. His troubled soul was not theirs to witness, and would shield them from anything not resembling their jolly old grandpapa. His children were one thing, for they all shared the same heartache, but his grandchildren were off limits.

Instead, by the time the Lion appeared at the bottom of the hill, he spotted Valery, Kahlil, and the gentle Aurra busy browsing the stalls. But where might Adam and Aeryn be, hmm? He pretended like he didn't know, playing into their hands like a good grandparent by ignoring their ambush and proceeded towards their parents. Nina, playing along with a smirk on her lips, gestured the signs for "on both flanks" in that home-made language of theirs from when she was little.

Once the snowballs came flying, Thurion simply held out his hand and turned it palm-facing-up, locking them in place mid-air. With a flick of his finger, the snowy projectiles were flung back the way they'd come, all without so much as a glance in their direction. "Cheap shots, eh? Well two can play at that game," he spun around and dropped down to gather enough powder to fashion for himself a pair of snowballs, giggling like the boy he still was inside.

"Shiver and shake, for now you face the dreaded Winter King!"

Nina stood off to the side, awkwardly waving 'hello' at the Nobles.
