"...It's easier to talk to someone who's bleeding out than it is to talk to you. No offence. I just know I'll probably never have to see them again. Whereas you are a regular part of my life...which means I should really be used to this."
It was strange. Shan wasn't exactly nervous or worried about putting his foot in his mouth. It was more...Kat was like family to him. And Shan didn't have a good track record when it came to families. It was why he had given up his last name. He was just Shan. For now, he nodded as he listened to Katherine. It was good that she had taken life into her own hands. Shan wasn't entirely sure if he had done that himself. Yes, he had his doctorate now, but that was because he had felt like had to repent for mistakes he made as a Jedi. He couldn't think of a single thing he had achieved in his life, purely because he wanted to. With no ulterior motives attached to it...
None of that mattered for now as he listened to Saphira now, folding his arms along, expecting some kind of actual problem. So to hear what she actually needed help with...Shan blinked in surprise. That...That was honestly going to be a bigger problem to solve than if she needed them for something serious. Because how does one exactly explain fun to someone?
"I suppose...it depends on what you view as fun. Some people enjoy simply playing with the snow. Building small things out of it. Small buildings, snowmen, or even snow-angels. Or they'll have snowball wars with each other. I know that sounds surprisingly violent...but it isn't. As long as people don't hide rocks in their snowballs. I will admit, I'm not the best person to help with "fun" things. I enjoy the quiet. Or I find a good read fun. Most people would find those boring. Maybe Katherine has...better advice?...Oh. I'm Shan by the way. "
