Learning to Bond with a Friend. (Vulpesen)

Alexandra Feanor

She nodded as she heard him and spoke behind her as she moved to push through the small space and look around as she continued down it with her head looking around constantly. "You know, its not that bad, could be a bit brighter but ive worn white robes in places like that, im not even in robes today so not that bad." Like she said she wasnt, no she was in simple purple training and travel clothing, made for the ability to maneuver in situations like this.

Vulpesen shrugged but started to crouch down after a bit of walking. "Well, at least we don't have to go on like this much longer. usually by this point, the tunnels near their end." Despite the tunnels being a uncomfortably narrow for humans, Ace seemed to have no trouble, making his way past Alex as he had more than enough room to trot unhindered.

She looked among the walls and pushed on a bit more, following the Ashlan wolf as best she could as she started to get nearer to the end like Vulpesen had said they would. Her body shifted once more to look and push through the last part of it before comign out and stretching, looking back to find where Vulpesen was and how far behind her she was.

It wasn't but a few moments before Vulpesen exited just behind Alex, standing to his full height and stretching to get over the sensation of a cramped space. "Well now. Ace, why don't we say hello." Looking out around them, there would be a great deal of trees with a thick canopy, making the tunnel the only nearby entrance. Among the trees were small orbs that seemed rather similar to a Tatooine homestead, however other than that, the place was silent. Lifting his hand, Vulpesen started a slow count down with his fingers. 3... 2... 1... The duo lifted their heads and let out a pair of resonating howls and only a moment later, they were joined by a chorus as the forest sang with hundreds of ashlan voices. Welcome to the Ashlan Community.

Alexandra looked around as the forest sang and for a moment she almost reached down to her side and her saber before remembering that it was Vulpesen that had brought her here and he would not lead her into a trap. Her hands relaxed and she looked around as she waited for the Ashlan to appear, straying no further than a few feet from Vulpesen and Ace as her silver eyes looked at him for a moment to ask the silent question of how many there were.

After the howls ended, lights of red, blue and black started to appear around the forest and slowly at first, then all at once, they started to run towards the group. Of course, Ace and Vulpesen were already slightly familiar, but Alexandra was a new person all together, and furthermore, he was un-bonded. It was like the ultimate episode of The Bachelorette, only losing meant you were likely stuck with the eternal company of an Ysalimiri. Considering the options, once could figure out why they were desperate to see if this white woman was a match for a bondmate. "The rest is up to you."

"Wait, what do you mean the rest is up to me, i dont even know what im suppose to do..." She looked around, confused and slightly shaken by the number of them swarming over the area, she had expected them to all be far more cautious, and instead they were like ants to a wad of sugar on the ground. Again she almost reached down but once more remembered they wouldn't attack... unless they were red ones he said... right?

Her eyes didn't pause for a second though as she searched each one of the faces that showed themselves to her. Trying to discern one from the other but there was just no way of understanding if she saw one already or not, it was just too many for her to look at with them all in one group.

Vulpeen let out a small laugh and leaned against the wall of foliage. "Well, neither do I. I've been talking with Ace and all he says to do is focus and look int hir eyes. Somehow, ya just know. Something about an early form of telepathy that transfers the most basic information. Oh, and apparently every process feels a bit different so I can't even help ya there." In truth, Vulpesen was slightly overwhelmed himself. Ace had beena lone when he bonded with Vulpesen. If he had this selection, no doubt the process would take a lot longer.

"I dont... crap..." She tried to focus on their eyes, but there were just too many, she would take hours to find one that she could hold contact with just long enough to even see if a bond was possible and that was time she didn't know if she had. Plus telepathy on this planet, if only she had her connection to the force than perhaps this would be easier but she was dead to it so she couldn't have any aide in the matter as they continued to shift around her and cause her vision to blur as she was unable to focus.

Vulpesen continued to watch, checking his chrono on occasion as he watch Alex. Her head was swirling and even without the force, he could tell as much. "Alright Ace, help her out and then 'em out." Even as he continued to watch, the Ashlan Wolves started to thin out, the ones leaving walking a little less tall. Hundreds left, but still some still stayed, from the restless red, to the anticipating blue, to the patient green. Each willing to share his basic personalities in hopes of forging a bond. All [member="Alexandra Cinthra"] had to do was connect with the right one.

Her eyes ran from those that left to those that stayed, able to take her time now as she looked from wolf to wolf and studying each of them with a careful glance between them. Her eyes found their way to a green one and for half a second they remained there, focusing on the wolf's own eyes and blinking as she watched and it her. She wasn't sure if he was the one or not, she wasn't sure if this was the connection but her eyes remained now as she stared at it and it her.

Vulpesen watched as she seemed to find one, taking a moment to sit down. He didn't know what would happen to her. For him, the feeling in his mind was near indescribable. He had no idea what she would feel so instead, he simply waited hoping that she had found the match she wanted. "What do you think Ace? Think there's a chance?" "Well, he does meet her basic personality, but only the pre-bond can tell us if its close enough and since only they can feel it, its up to her to accept an reach out to conjoin with her." "

She moved to sit down herself and lower her body to watch it and it watched her. There seemed to be no sensation at all but she couldn't pull her eyes from it as she and it turned their heads at the same time to the side and then back. Then after a moment the Ashlan hung its head and left to which left Alex sitting there with no other Ashlan nearby. "Blasts..." She sighed and lay back on her back, staring at the sky above her, or rather the canopy of leaves. One did remain though, it was a runt of a thing that sat just within the edge of the area and watched her as she lay there, doing nothing as it just watched her. Its own fur greenish but with a whiter tint to it.

Vulpesen shrugged and rested back against the wall, hearing Ace's voice in his head. 'I recognize him. Small, but he's got a spirit that far exceeds him... for a greenie that is. You and Zarro would like the kid.' The bonded one gave a nod of his head and watched again, hoping to Surrru and Ruurri that she would make the connection. Alex was close to him and he enjoyed the idea of not being alone in being bonded to one of this elusive race.

Alexandra's head rolled on the ground to look behind where she lay, directly into the eyes of the Wolf as it had gotten within a foot without making a single sound, their faces right before each other as they froze. For a moment not even breathing could be seen coming from the two and the only faint movement was that of their eyes as they started to shake and mirror each other. Inside Alex's mind she was deciphering what she was trying, or rather seeing, and understand what she was experiencing as the ashlan itself did the same until it just laid down as well and continued to look at Alexandra and she it.

As much as he wanted to speak, make a wise-crack, or do something, he realized this was a moment where silence was required. For now, Vulpesen simply stayed calm and quietly conversed with Ace while he waited.

For a few more moments they laid there before Alexandra actually raised her hand, and waved it at the wolf. "Hey, hows it going." With the moment a wide grin grew on her face and in return what would pass as a grin appeared on the Ashlan's own mouth as the two of them just laid there and said nothing more while things finished. She had bonded and yet it didn't feel that... prominent at the moment the two of them definitely understood eachother.

Vulpesen chuckled and started to further relax against the wall. "Alex, the bond is truly sealed by your first words." He rose his hand to tap his head. "Up here." With that, he remained silent and waited for the bond to be sealed. There was a good chance that this was it, but for the most part, he had no idea. Even Ace would know better than he would considering his mind was actually linked to one of them.

"Right..." She tried to expand her thoughts in the way she knew best but soon realized that it would be impossible that way so instead she just looked at the wolf again and began shouting in her head until she heard a response from it. Funny part was it only took the second try and the other times she was shouting in her mind the Ashlan wolf just looked up at Vulpesen and Ace with a confused look, having thought that Alexandra would notice when the connection was made, sad part was she didn't.

Vulpesen let out a small laugh as he watched the display, hearing what was happening from Ace. "Alex, give it a moment, and give him a chance. When you want to know what he's saying and when he has something to say, you will hear it. Just get ready. Its strange since Ashlan's don't use any actual words." With that, he resumed listening in through Ace.
