  • A full set of cybernetics which provide mobility to the previously crippled John Locke.
  • Provides John with access to EX and all the databases connected to the AI.
  • Provides John with advanced functionality and abilities.
  • Provides a range of offensive and defensive functions as a last-ditch necessity.
  • Personal cloaking device

bNSQCx.gif

  • Able to access and control electronics through a variety of means, touch, wirelessly or through a communications laser in his eye.
  • Cybernetic arms are significantly stronger than normal arms and come with a built-in weapons system that can fire rail gun rounds, or manipulate magnetic fields as needed as well as deployable energy blades.
  • Various implants and electronics allow John to process information and react faster than a normal human when needed as well as allowing him to monitor his health and protects him from electronic surges (a very real danger for a cyborg with several electronics in his head).[/SIZE]
  • The cybernetics are built to be EMP resistant or to quickly recover from an EMP attack.
  • A personal cloaking device allows John to sneak into locations he might not otherwise be expected to be, although mostly he uses it to get away from the office and steal a little time to himself.

  • Although protected by a cyber-security suite and an AI any electronic system can still be hacked by someone who is good enough, or lucky enough. The same is True for John’s cybernetics.
  • The heavy level of cyberization required to save his life has attenuated John’s connection to the force, although he might sometimes get the faintest of feelings he is unable to access the energy that he should otherwise.
  • Such a heavy level of cybernetics is rare, and draws looks and security concerns wherever he goes. It is almost impossible for John to blend into a crowd. Getting through security, or just trying to spend a day out can become an exercise in hiding, leading to deep insecurity on John’s part.
  • Although they are EMP resistant, the myomer used in the cybernetic arms is very vulnerable to electric attacks, providing a weakness that can travel back through the rest of the cybernetics, temporarily paralysing John’s body, although the Lornal implant protects him from passing out, or losing full control.
  • Although the cloaking device allows John to escape vision and most sensors , magnetic, lifeform and other advanced sensors can still locate him despite the cloak.

Sometimes fate or your circumstances plays a cruel hand, through no design of yours accidents can happen, sometimes big ones. Clone limbs and cybernetics were a fairly common, widespread sight, what was significantly rarer was someone with a heavier level of cybernetics. Sometimes though you just don’t have a choice in the matter. Such was the case for John Locke after the accident at his first factory, a freak accident caused by a faulty crane resulted in the factory starting to come down around the workers there. All John could think about was getting his workers out, and he did, the only problem? He didn’t care so much about that. Caught under collapsing machinery John suffered significant external and internal damage. When he was found John was barely alive, and while the doctors were able to stabilise him, no amount of bacta could repair the damage done to the man’s body. While the doctors did suggest that growing clone parts was a possible solution it was also expensive and came with the possibility of rejection. For a man looking at rebuilding his entire business, that simply wasn’t an option that was on the table so John turned to a significant set of cybernetics instead. Since then he has tweaked, upgraded and added to the cybernetics to enhance his abilities.

Damage Done:

  • One eye destroyed
  • One eye damaged by shrapnel
  • Both arms crushed beyond repair
  • Heart and one lung damaged beyond their ability to sustain his body
  • Ribs shattered into fragments
  • Damage to his spine leaving him unable to move his lower back or legs.
  • Multiple compound fractures in both of his legs.

The Cybernetics:

Notes
When John is accessing his cybernetics, or communicating with EX his eyes glow. The pair of quantum entangled photons allow for data to be transferred up and down at a faster rate than a normal quantum communicator would allow. It is this communicator that allowed EX to act as a personal assistant to John while still maintaining his cybernetics, providing support and providing assistance to Locke and Key Facilities.

The Hydra Implant acts as the central pillar of John's entire cybernetics package, the neural implants ability to manage multiple processes at the same time allowing it to control and monitor the rest of John's implants. The Hydra also has the ability to improve the cyborg's ability to process information and multitask, it is thanks to this implant that John is able to control his entire cybernetics package, not by issuing a command that the electronics respond to en masse but individually, giving the man unprecedented control over his implants, a product of both the technology that had been developed and the singular mind of John Locke. The multi-tasking capabilities available to John were further enhanced by the Selkie Implant, allowing him to spin off tasks and processes into virtual processing arrays, allowing automation of thought processes with minimal oversight.

While John has a plethora of skills available to him, he is not a master of all crafts, however, his cybernetics give him, if not a mastery then the capability to provide competence thanks to the Chiron, a system that will allow him to download skills packages, allowing him to fight or dance, skills he had never picked up for himself. With the advantages to his reactions provided by the Atlanta, John was able to hold his own in a fight, in any situation that his training as an engineer and scientist failed to prepare him for. John's abilities are enhanced by the cybernetics which replaced his eyes, allowing him significantly better vision than natural eyes. From the ability to zoom in, to vision modes such as Infrared and electricity tracking the eyes provided John with the ability to sense far more about his world than he used to. The greatest enhancement available to the cyborg however was the ability to view an augmented reality, throwing up screens of information over his vision, allowing him to quickly access and refer to data without the need for a data pad. John's eyes were also able to tag a target with a burst of radiation that would allow them to be tracked, or painted with a laser to allow targeting by others.

Not every implant John had installed was created as a means of war, Taida proved to be a very effective personal assistant, backed up by an installed version of Locke and Key's BARCA tactical program which John could turn loose on business problems just as easily as combat situations., Several defensive implants were also included, primarily the Syn implant, protection against the electrical surges that all androids feared. John also made sure to include the Ather implant, a specialised implant that would allow him to breathe in normally toxic situations, you never quite knew where life would take you.

Implants

John’s ribs were crushed to fine dust in the accident, forcing the cyborg to rebuilt his skeleton using Bonemer in Locke and Key's signature were replaced with bonemer, as were many of the other damaged bones in his body leaving him with a skeletal structure more capable of taking hit and damage than one might suspect without any corresponding increase in his weight.

The cybernetics in John’s chest also contains various shields he can use to defend himself or others. Unlike most shield systems the shields around John’s body can be adjusted and reshaped on the fly by John to whatever shape he needs.

The man’s shattered spine was replaced with a construction of bonemer threaded through with optical cables replacing his damaged spinal cord. The optical cables, similar to those used in the L.K. O.N.N. The optical cables provide a replication of the spinal column in a normal human, only faster due to the increased speed of the data transmission via optical cables. An advanced bio-stabilizer implant was responsible for monitoring John’s physical state and acting to filter harmful contaminants from his circulatory system. John also included a personal cloaking device in with his augments, not because he forsaw much need to sneak around, but thought that he might want to escape from the

John’s arms were completely wrecked in the accident, leaving the doctors with no choice but to amputate or risk an infection setting in that could be lethal to the man. However, a lack of arms was a definite issue for John going forward, while the hospital issued him with a standard set of prosthetics he knew he could do better. The engineer created a first series of prosthetics that contained some improvements to replace those created by the hospital to by him time to research the improvements needed to create a set of cybernetics he was happy with.

While the first phase of his cybernetics was a small improvement on the basic prosthetic that the hospital had provided him the second stage of his cybernetics was an entirely new build to incorporate new technologies and a new design principle. Johns first set of cybernetics had used some of his technologies to replicate and enhance the capabilities of a basic set of cybernetics, but his new ones were built from the ground up to surpass the normal capabilities, to make him truly transhuman.

Like all limbs John had to start with a skeleton, using Phrik to create a base structure capable of withstanding the stress and pressure that was to come with the rest of his cybernetics. Running through the core of these bones was not marrow, but a solid core of Pyronium, a rare metal that was able to absorb incredible amounts of energy. The Pyronium acted as a battery for John's cybernetics, providing the power to keep them running, the sheer amount of energy the Pyronium could store meant that John's cybernetics could keep running at battle intensity without rocking running out of power for a considerable time. The near-indestructible Phrik bones provided protection to the Pyronium, preventing the high energy metal from being damaged, an eventuality which could have explosive results.

Once the man's skeleton had been constructed John then covered it with layers of Locke and Key's signature Myomer Actuation System, the artificial muscle system which John had developed to allow his droid to gain a more organic movement pattern. This organic style movement came to its fore in use when dealing with cybernetic limbs. Many prosthetics in the galaxy, such as Luke Skywalker's, were mechanically based, using servo motors to move the artificial limb in a replication of organic movement. This was cheap, effective and well-proven technology, but had several drawbacks that John was unwilling to live with. Firstly, while analogous to organic movement, there was a stiffness, to the movement that gave away their mechanical nature to the observant eye. The myomer muscles fixed this due to their replication of organic muscles, allowing them to perfectly mimic the natural movement of an arm. Mechanical motors also had limited power, but the myomer was able to replicate the effect of muscle allowing them to provide more power than the normal muscles in the body were capable of. Normally the Myomer would function under a limiter, their full power able to crush bones as they moved, however, due to the extensive repairs that were required to John's body much of his skeleton had to be rebuilt, or reinforced with Bonemer. Combined with the Phrik bones that made up John's arms this gave him enough strength and density in his bones to withstand the forces of the Myomer, allowing the man to punch through walls and tear armour apart if needed, or to perform surgery.

The layers of Myomer were then covered with Locke and Key's Iaso E-skin, giving it the look and feel of normal skin, hiding the mechanics behind the arm. Of course, he couldn't just leave it as it is, John being John he had to add some...extra layers to the arm.

Firstly, as with all suits of armour he produced John incorporated microrepulsors into the fists of the cybernetics, allowing him to punch harder and cause more damage when he landed a hit. The Repulsors were joined by the Indra system, adding an increased level of variability to the cybernetics, from ranged attacks to interfacing with electronics to the manipulation of magnetic fields, the Vajra did it all. Where his original cybernetics contained a pair of black plasma blades as weapons, John's upgraded arms moved away from that close-range combat. John had realised that, while his cybernetics might have lifted him away from the average human he was never going to be able to stand up to a combatant like Srina Talon or Darth Prazutis in close range combat for an extended period of time. Instead, the new array of weapons John chose to equip himself with were designed with ranged combat in mind. Keeping any opponents out of arms reach where he had time to utilise his tactical abilities to neutralize them, or stave them off until help arrived.

As part of the accident that left him injured, the bones in John’s legs were shattered, like much of his body. In order to be able to stand John's legs required the bones to be reformed. This was accomplished through the insertion of Bonemar implants throughout his lower body to rebuild his skeletal structure. The new skeletal structure provided him with the ability to withstand stresses caused by his new cybernetics in use.
