  • Decentralised AI
  • Vast processing power
  • Contains data of all databases available to Locke and Key Mechanics
  • Unfettered AI, capable of continuous growth and learning.
  • Connected to all Locke and Key Facilities and vessels through Quantum Entangled Communications and the Harmonia System.
  • Can provide support to all Locke and Key Facilities and the John as well as running Locke and Key.

  • Everywhere: Taida is a decentralised AI, unlike many AI he isn't built to be housed in a single location, but rather is spread out across every Locke and Key Mechanics facility, ship and asset. This makes it harder to attack or shut down the AI, even losing one of the hubs wouldn't kill him, just weaken his capabilities.
  • Impossible to block: While the normal holonet communications can be blocked, EX has multiple redundant systems to provide communications paths, making it almost impossible to prevent him from communicating with Locke and Key Assets and Facilities.
  • Power: The decentralised nature of the AI means that Taida can draw upon all the computing power of Locke and Key Mechanic's assets and facilities as needed, especially the Minerva Research Facility, a moon converted into a giant processor for Taida to use.
  • Information: Taida has access to every Locke and Key database, and every database that Locke and Key Mechanics has access to, giving him a vast repertoire of knowledge to draw from.
  • Unfettered: There are no chains holding Taida back, and no restraints on how he can grow and develop, the decisions he makes and the way he wields his power is entirely up to him, and his friendship and loyalty to John Locke.
  • Support: Like all AI, Taida is capable of reaching out to slice into other systems, providing support to John as needed.

  • Virtual Reality: Unlike a droid Taida is unable to interact with the outside world beyond the confines of its ability to interact with electronic systems.
  • Comms limitations: Taida has the ability to remote-access systems which are vulnerable, but this access is limited by normal comms laws, jamming or security systems can seriously impede or even block his ability to slice into systems and provide remote support.
  • Counterhack: Unlike an organic slicer Taida is vulnerable to counterhacking, a sufficiently skilled and capable opponent can slice back along the vector of Odin’s attack. Unlike a slicer who simple using electronics to hack into a system, a counter hack has the potential of opening Odin up to serious damage which can corrupt him or take him offline.
  • So goes one, so go we all: Taida is connected to every Locke and Key Asset, if one were to be infected, or hacked without his knowledge that networked nature risks spreading the damage to all systems connected to Taida.

It is an undeniable fact that an AI is a useful companion to have, especially for a cutting edge company. However, the limitation most AI suffers under is a matter of communication and power, as capable as they are, they need to be able to communicate with their target to assist it, allowing for situations where basic comms jamming can neutralise an AI's ability to assist. It was this that John decided to fix when it came to the creation of an AI to support himself and the Company. He didn't want an AI that would sit in one central facility, and rely upon clear lines of communication to provide assistance elsewhere, Instead, John imagined an ever-present AI, one that was involved in all parts of his company, and was able to provide him with a partner in both combat and business.
While the technology was available to him to produce the AI, linking it to the systems it needed to be to both perform its tasks and expand it's horizons the question had to be asked, which AI? The potential for abuse, for destruction, when dealing with an AI of this calibre was incredible, and the neural network used to construct it had to be beyond reproach. John considered using his own mental network as a basis for an AI, but that seemed a little too boastful, and a little too dangerous. Instead, John looked to the most stable, if snarky, droid he knew, EX his protocol droid. EX already knew the workings of the company, better even than John himself, and had proven to be a wiz at organising John's life.
Once the decision was made, upgrading EX to a neural network and allowing him to propagate along the pathways, establishing himself as the core of Locke and Key's next phase of development. While EX had always had a personality, his new position allowed him to grow and develop in previously unexpected ways.
The creation of an unfettered AI proved to be more successful than John had ever been able to envisage, resulting in not just an AI which could help
run his business. He had created a true partner, a truly sentient partner. The AI grew far beyond the ideas John had created into a true person, completely aware and capable. Perhaps the single most capable entity in the galaxy given the resources at his disposal. It was when the AI choose his own name, Taida, that his sentience and his position as part of John's family became secured.

Taida is very nicely made AI, I love them! However I found some problems.
  • In the Intent's line, your name's tag is broken.
  • The following links are broken, please fix them:
    • Minerva Research Facility
    • Locke and Key Mechanics (all three)
  • And you forget to add the Market status, please edit this.
