  • Variable Fire Mode: Slugs can be fired as Single Shot, Scatter Shot or Charged Shot.
  • Can be used to manipulate electronics and generate powerful magnetic fields.
  • The powerful electromagnets in the implant are capable of generating an electric current that can be fired at a distance, or wrapped around John's fists.

  • Bang: Through speed, or through electrical charge the shots are capable of a high level of damage.
  • Zap: Slugs can be charged with an electrical charge, while this reduces their speed it can be used to effectively stun organics and overload droids and other electronics.
  • It’s a kinda magic: Through the manipulation of EM fields and ElectroMagnetic Induction the Varja is actually capable of reading and manipulating most forms of electronics by touching them, or from a short-range as well as manipulating metals through those same electromagnetic fields.
  • No hiding: The Varja is capable of producing Airy Beams, ionized beams of light which can be bent into a parabola, the charged shots can follow these paths, being guided onto a target in hiding, or a specific weak point. In a similar manner, the Airy Beams can be used to guide the Tesla Shot, allowing the electricity to be guided.
  • Punchy: The weapon is based around the manipulation of electromagnetic fields, and can create an EM field around your fists, giving each punch a little extra electrical kick.
  • Tesla Powered: The Indra is capable of generating a powerful electrical field which John can use as a Tesla weapon, firing towards an enemy or containing in a magnetic field wrapped around his fists for increased damage.

  • The Varja can manipulate electronics, in essence making it an alternate user interface. While it does allow you to bypass physical security measures, electronic ones still need to be dealt with in the usual way, slicing.
  • Airy Beams are visible and can so can be avoided by an opponent who spots the beam of light, they also can’t bend more than once.
  • Since the weapon is based around a fist your arm is the aiming mechanism, limiting fighting styles.

Electromagnetic forces surround us, and in fact, are perhaps the key part of our lives, and control of these forces is what drives much of our technology. This is especially true for the Vajra, an electromagnetic field system developed by Locke and Key Mechanics. The Varja quickly became one of Locke and Key's key systems, and one John decided to use on his own cybernetics. Never one to just let technology be John looked at the Varja, finding that at its core, it was just a powerful electromagnet. So he upgraded it.

While the Indra maintains the basic functionality of the Varja, including its ability to manipulate electronics and launch railgun rounds. John opted to increase the power of the electromagnets, boosting the Indra's power to manipulate electronics and create electromagnetic fields. The Indra had the ability to manipulate magnetic fields at a range of 10m, as well as generating electrical currents which could be used in combat. A good, solid upgrade for the Varja, resulting in a powerful, capable system.
