Suggestion Invasion Criteria and Feedback

I think this is a poor representation of many people's arguments and also not very constructive. That's speculating on people's reactions to things that have not happened, and accusatory that the people here are emotionally immature to handle being told "no".
Hello and welcome to the internet. Have you been here more than say, thirty seconds? Because you seem to not take being told, "no" particularly well. Or 'This matter has been settled." to put it more civilly as you like to say.

I think it's perfectly well within reason for people to continue to have a discussion and disagree with someone. And for another thing, I'm not very appreciative of the tone that you and some other people have taken here, with passive-aggressive comments and snide remarks etc.

I don't think that's very constructive, helpful, or warranted. I'm not speaking in any sort of way like that about you. I've never, for as far as I can recall, even talked to you before. And I certainly wouldn't talk to you like that. So please don't do that to me, especially in public. I've been trying to better about how I conduct myself lately and things like this are not helpful to Chaos, so I'd ask you to not talk like that again when I'm having a very calm and very civil discussion.
No means no is a novel concept these days, I suppose
This is beyond unhelpful, and if all you're going to do in a suggestion and discussion is provide snarky commentary and quips, passive aggressively about me and other people here, I really don't think you're adding much to the conversation here.

Discussions over, buddy. You don't have to go home but you can't stay here.

I would agree usually. But the matter is settled and since then, you haven't added anything other than vapid nonsense either. So give what ya get. You're welcome.

I am of the opinion that Invasion Criteria and Invasion Feedback need to be re-implemented. I believe this is better for the long-term health of the faction game and the website at large.
  • If there is no set criteria for invasion judgements, then nobody actually knows what to measure their work in an invasion against
  • If no feedback is provided after invasions are judged, then nobody can adjust their work to be better prepared for the next one
I believe that if you have a game where the victory conditions are a black box that cannot be publicly described or inspected, then you have a game whose results will feel arbitrary even if they aren't. If people feel that way and come to conclude that nothing they do matters, then eventually they are going to stop playing the game. The game ends for good when enough people stop playing. We want the game to continue as long as possible. The game is (or should be) fun.

I do not believe invasion judgements as they are currently taking place are arbitrary. However, I also don't know and have no way of finding out.

Perhaps this is a contentious subject. Please remain civil with your reply. I am just a little guy and it is also my birthday.

Jokes on you, I paid the Admins in Jimmy John's coupons to win the invasion. Maybe if you got your money up, you'd win and invasion or two sometime. How's that for a criteria and feedback

Just look ant this thread. People are “um what” reacting to anything they don’t agree with or laugh reacting when someone is just making a point. Or they are going through and heart reacting any post that agrees with their view to pile on.

I’m not calling anybody in particular out. I’m pointing out you can see how toxic this place is in this one thread alone, just from reacts without even really reading the text too deeply.

So yea invasion judgements will attract toxicity because there are bullying people on this site. We can’t even discuss it without toxicity, let alone do it.

Staff already gave their decision on the matter, some people couldn't accept it.

Why should anyone take what they say seriously if they can't abide by even a simple 'no'.

My argument would be staff also encourages people to discuss things and throw up these types of threads. Mocking people who just want to vent some feelings is just unnecessary. We are a community so we shoukd feel like we can talk with each other without it being hostile.

If staff says no that’s their right. Nothing wrong with just letting people state their opinions. And if you don’t want to listen just don’t partake.

I just do not and will never understand going out of your way to make someone feel bad, especially if they are just talking about something they care about and you use a laugh emoji to simulate laughing in their face. Really what does that accomplish other than hurt?

What does continuing a discussion on an already settled point accomplish.

Nothing wrong with discussing things, but the point Carnifex is making is that the question has been asked and answered. Further discussion is pointless.

Staff has already weighed in and things won’t be changing - but don’t think that means the discussion needs to be quashed entirely.

This thread has only been up for a few hours and a large subset of chaos members are in snoozeland. If we want to foster an open discussion space, then we gotta give more folks a chance to weigh in.

I can see what you both are saying. But it isn’t only in discussions like this where these things happen. People are passive aggressive and toxic toward other a lot here.

I still also fully stand by the opinion that even if someone is discussing something that you feel is pointless there is no need to simulate laughing in their face etc. We are a community. We should at least behave nicely towards each other.

I do appreciate you civilly disagreeing with me though. You are good peeps.

You can't debate bro others into submission just because you don't like a verdict.

This right here is the exact same problem that happened with invasion summaries. People could not accept the decisions made, and almost always second chanced summaries, felt like they wrongfully lost. When you give criteria for win or loss, it gave the bad crowd the chance to refuse to accept loss, argue the point. It often led to the echo chambers growing saltier, and in wilder cases claiming staff collusion being the reason they lost. When you give people an inch, they take a mile.

This is my response after reading 80 posts of this ...

Alright... Enough is enough.

We can all agree that the question posed by the OP in this thread is legitimate so there is no need to belittle or poke fun at each other when people are clearly hot under the collar. We let it stay open to see if anything constructive might come from it but that doesn't seem to be the case.

A lot of the "tone" in replies leaves a lot to be desired. If you want to be taken seriously don't start off with conspiracy theories about staff or unnecessary jabs.

If you keep it up, you know who you are, I will handle you accordingly. This thread will be closed but stay tuned because I'm going to put up another soon so we can move this in a more positive direction.

Please have a good, safe evening.
