TAIIA LOCKE
Taiia's early life had been shrouded in mystery, with only fleeting images of a family that she could barely recall. As a young girl, she had been abducted, by the Jedi Order or so she had assumed. However, it turned out that this particular sect was a fanatic force cult seeking out those they deemed to be special. If they knew or not what she was at the beginning it was hard to say, but as fortune would have it the young Jedi became unsatisfied with her lot in life and managed to break free of that control.
There was no self-preservation instinct that had prompted the escape, she had been treated well and was happy. However there was something, a yearning calling to her from across the stars, she knew not what it was at the time but as the years moved on the call only got stronger, until one day she simply left, no warning she merely boarded a ship that had come to ferry supplies to the hidden enclave there and when none were looking stole the ship and its cargo following the call of the Force into the unknown. When one door opens, another closes as such, the call of the Force that Taiia followed had led her to the heart of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. She found her way to Geonosis by way of Rishi, where she rid herself of any cargo that could have been problematic, landing in a stolen ship was one thing but to have illegal substances as well, would be inconvenient. Her arrival upon Geonosis was where she first met Kyyrk he introduced her to the wider Confederacy and offered her a place among the Knights Obsidian, an offer she was quick to accept.
Shortly after joining the Knights Obsidian, Taiia spent a considerable amount of time among the Solanaceae, the order of Nightisters among the Confederacy, unlike their ancient counterparts they did not discriminate between male and female nor did they expressly focus on the darker aspects of the Force. Taiia began to study under the Nightmother herself and spent much time among the witches traveling into the Nether on many occasions, and through the Nightmother Vytal Noctura instruction, Taiia learned to summon a pair of convors as her familiars named Pleonexia and Eirene.
The calm existence of life among the Witches and Knights Obsidian would be shattered when a cry for help from an ally of the Confederacy came, Atrisia a world on the edge of Confederate space was attacked by a Sith named Mythos, the aftermath of a brutal battle resulted in the Confederacy taking ownership of the world and helping to heal the damage. Instead of a peaceful rebuilding, an unknown force unleashed the Blackwing virus upon the planet, causing untold death and destruction. For her part Taiia, along with the rest of the Knights Obsidian were present on the ground, she helped the Nightmother and several other witches reach Jar'Kai to stop the plague from spreading uncontrolled until a cure could be found. It was at this point she felt Kyyrk die through the Force, rather than allow him to become a victim of the Blackwing virus she convinced the Nightmother to open a gateway to Voph where Taiia retrieved his body and fought her way back to the waiting gateway, at this moment nearly overwhelmed by the undead of the plague she unleashed a torrent of force lightning into a group of them, clearing the way to the gateway and safety.
Following the death of perhaps a first friend within the Confederacy and a mentor, Taiia while learning to deal with the loss was approached by the Nightmother. There was an opportunity to bring him back, a small group would enter the Nether and restore his soul to his body. It would not be the first or last time she had journeyed into the Nether but there she would be able to steal her friend from death. The nether did not give up its dead easily, however, and she and her compatriots had to brave the Great Galactic war to bring Voph home.
Atrisia was not the end of the troubles for the Confederacy. The Cataclysm as it came to be known as was an unprecedented event that managed to reduce the Knights Obsidian from thousands of highly skilled force users to a few dozen, only the bravest and strongest of the order managed to survive when a creature emerged from the Nether and began to kill and consume all force users within the Knights fortresses. Taiia being at Naboo at the time encountered only a small resistance since it was dependant on the number of force users present. As soon as the first distress calls went out Taiia left Naboo for Vylmira to help out as best as she could.
In the aftermath of the cataclysm, Taiia given her past experience as both a Jedi Knight and her actions as a squire within the Knights Obsidian were recognized with a promotion to Obsidian Lord, an equivalent of a Jedi Master or Sith Lord. It would be one of many promotions to be handed out in the wake of such tragedy but the order would rebuild. There was a brief time of peace after the cataclysm, those that had survived tended to their wounds both mental and physical. Taiia found solace in a tournament on Naboo, it was there the Obsidian Lord met a brash and arrogant Corellian by the name of Allyson Locke declaring she would beat Taiia then take her out on a date. The pair dueled and both of them were pushed to their limits, Taiia managed to take the victory by a novel combination of Force powers that allowed her to move faster than the eye could see. Allyson tasted defeat but ultimately won the coveted date with Taiia anyways because she had no desire to see the brunette so disappointed.
Shortly thereafter the Confederacy launched the ill-fated invasion of Rhand, seeking to liberate the slaves there from the Maw. What they found there was little more than a trap which saw the decimation of part of the Confederate armada as well as ground forces, Taiia among them seeking to flee the surface as the Maw proceeded to base delta zero the planet. Ultimately Allyson came looking for Taiia, her presence interrupting Taiia's teleport and sending her instead to the cockpit of Allyson's fighter. Damaged from the fighting in space their fighter crash-landed on Lao-Mon where Taiia and Allyson had to survive for several days until Kyyrk was able to locate them.
A short time after Rhand while on Naboo Taiia sensed Allyson through the force, as she had been dealt a fatal wound, at once the Obsidian Lord raced to her now lovers side and did what she could to heal the damage and bring Allyson to safety so she could rest and heal. Taiia watched over Allyson and helped her recover and rest despite herself. Allyson was not one to be still. One night Allyson left, her only goodbye was a note for the Obsidian Lord. The sudden departure of Allyson, especially in the way it had been done had wounded Taiia. Yet when the Maw invaded Coruscant, Taiia and Kyyrk were on the ground and racing toward the Jedi temple. Taiia's first thought was Allyson splitting from Kyyrk and following her through the force thankfully recovering her intact.
While the galaxy went about its routine a new threat was rising against the Confederacy. Whispers of a force cult that were seeking out powerful artifacts related began circulating, the very same cult that had activated the eye in the first place bringing the Knights Obsidian to its knees. It would be on Javin that they came face to face with this cult. Taiia, along with her squire Laneya Wexler and Allyson Locke went in expecting to find an artifact, instead, they found a cult that was prepared to fend them off.
The cult managed to secure an artifact much like the eye that triggered the cataclysm, however, Vanya Aklin was able to contain that power from spreading giving the Knights the much-needed time to shut down the cult for good. As the battle ended a being known as Medjai appeared to the Knights and explained the truth of the threat they faced an ancient being known as the unmaker that had warred against Medjai for millennia. Medjai herself had died and no longer had the power to combat the unmaker so she turned to the Knights for aid and to keep the artifacts from the cult's hands.
The Knights, however, would not get the opportunity to carry out Medjai's request. Before they could even martial their forces the Unmaker began to move, the combined force of the Unmaker, pirates, and cutthroats from the rim all fell upon the Confederacy in one mighty blow. An unexpected stab at the heart of the Confederacy the battle would be won but at a tremendous cost both in lives lost and the Confederacy itself. In the final moments of the battle, the Unmaker appeared before Taiia fixated on her. It was here that Medjai explained to Taiia, that herself and Taiia were linked. The mortal reincarnation of Medjai, Taiiia scarcely believed it but the Unmaker himself confirmed it with his own words as he began to unmake Taiia. That is when what remained of Medjai merged with Taiia, changing her and saving her. She was remade in Medjai's image an Eldorai, and with the full power of Medjai at her command, the Unmaker was banished.
