Many years ago, the Southern Systems were faced with a nearly impossible choice. In those days, they were immediately adjacent to some of the greatest powers in the Galaxy...and more importantly, their clash of ideals. The battle of democracy and imperialism always threatened to spill out. And should it, the peace the Southern Systems enjoyed would be at an end. At face value, they had the choice of throwing in their lot with the bastion of democracy - but this would only guarantee that their children died in foreign wars. Or, they could submit to the imperial warmachine and be forever oppressed. Caught between this rock and this hard place, the Southern Systems were offered a third option by the man they one day call Vicelord.

Independence.

If they would band together, they would have the strength to determine their own destiny. If they would band together, they would have the might to ensure that they would never be oppressed. As one, the worlds gathered together and formed a community founded upon the spirit of true freedom. And, as the years rolled ever forward, the Confederacy of Independent Systems offered this chance to know independence to every planet they encountered. Thus, as the wars waged throughout the stars, the borders of their nation continued to grow. Until finally, they encountered Fondor. In the era immediately preceeding the Confederacy's birth, Fondor had been at the forefront of the democratic fight. Their efforts birthed countless armadas for the cause of freedom over oppression.

And though the nations it supported had gone into the night - Fondor had helped ensure that they did not go quietly.

Straightaway, the Confederacy offered the renowned world the very same opportunity that had built its borders. And, over the course of thorough negotiations, an accord was struck on a rather auspicious day. T'was the very day that the Confederacy was founded anew in the modern Galaxy, and as a result there was cause for celebration! Not only had a new sister entered the fold, but the Confederacy had endured for yet another year. The ideals of true freedom and self-determination had persisted within their turbulent Galaxy. As a result, Fondor City had become the beating heart of the nation's celebrations this year. From all across the Southern Systems, families and friends flocked the metopolitian planet for a day of bliss and merriment!

For the occasion, the Guild Tower located in the centre of Fondor City had become the focal point of the day's festivities. The skyways and avenues surrounding the Tower had been closed down, making room for a children's parade that had occurred in the early hours of the moving. Yet, as the sun dipped below the horizon, new festivities claimed these streets. In particular, the Main Street had become adorned with stops that would draw the attention of any enthused traveler. Now, under a darkened sky littered with fireworks, the Confederacy was free to celebrate its Independence Day!

Spoiler: Points of Interest

The northern most portion of Main Street have been overrun with succulent aromas. Restaurants from all over the city have piled their finest offerings into repulsorcraft, forming a column of vendors lining the street's right-hand side. Here, one can find every flavor of meal or sweet confection their hearts can desire. From Atrisian Fried Rice to Korunnai Dumplings and everything in-between. There's even a chocolate fountain! Now, if wetting your whistle is more up to your speed, on the left-hand side of the street is "The Cage." A local, crowd favorite - this sports cantina has a wide selection of beers and fried foods to suit every taste. What delicacies will you try? The possibilities are endless!​

One block south of the succulent aromas is where one of the city's few "green spaces" typically resides. However, the usually quiet plot of trees adorned with a central fountain have evolved into a modest street fair! Here, flashing lights and the ding of carnival games greet each and every passerby. One can test their skill at lobbing rings onto bottles, slamming a mallet to ding the bell, and much much more! By far, the crowning feature of the street fair is "The Caterpiller." A series of open, glass repulsorpods stand ready in a line for passengers to board before whisking them away for an aerial orbit of the city skyline. Will you win a prize? How's about four! The night is yours!​

Traversing the final block of Main Street will bring one to the Guild Tower itself, where a thrilling accommodation had been made for Confederate personnel. By ascending an exterior lift, one would be taken to the thirteenth floor - ideal for viewing the fireworks at eye level. Here, simply setting foot off of the lift will expose one to the rumble of deep bass as music is pumped through exceptional speakers. The floor itself had been entirely devoted to throwing the hard working Confederates one hell of a party. Here, a dance floor adorned with neon lights plays host to a mass of swaying bodies as live music is performed on stage. Modern seating exists in an orbit around the floor, where attendant droids frequent with only the finest liquors money can buy. The party doesn't start 'til you jump in!​

Cypher sat in his command chair aboard the Nocturnal class Battlecruiser "Geonosis
" instead of attending the festivities on the surface of Fondor. It was idle of him to to carry on his responsibility in the Navy. He couldn't go onto the surface to party while his life dream fluttered farther and farther. He had a personal Conversation with tge Vicelord [member="Darth Metus"] and was astounded to know that effort and effort alone was the descison changer needed to put him in the Flagship of the Mara Armada but until then, he would be arranging the ships that would be protectong the new strategically important planet. "Ok, so the 'Inevitible' will be assigned as the syestem flagship...What are you doing" he said to his new organic First Officer Nade. "Uh...Yes,Vice Marshal Rage. Something about Inevetible being the syestem flagship." Nade replied. This is what made Cypher miss his droid commander N-001. " Do your job. I cannot belive you use to Captain this ship" Cypher said aloud. Maybe going to the surface was not a bad idea.

Excited.

If her state of mind had to be condensed down to one word, here and now, that would be it. Things weren't entirely patched up with her father, and she hadn't seen him in some time since he was discharged from the healing facilities and Damsy finally decided to come back, but she was excited to see him...and whichever other familiar faces would likely be present as well. A'Runda. Allya. Maybe Luna...? Maybe not. A sithspawn could hope.

When all was said and done, though, she was just as excited as she used to get when [member="Darth Metus"] used to come to Kamino before asking her to leave the first time. A slightly-upset stomach. So much pent-up energy she wanted to swim--or, in this case, run--countless circles. The only difference? She could walk significantly better.

Yes, suffice to say, with all things considered, she was happy as a barnacle living on one of the durasteel columns holding Tipoca out of the water to be back in action.

That is, if it was a carnivorous barnacle. She walked (a little cautious, but mostly carefree) down the left side of an alleyway, munching on a fishstick. After Damsy took a bite slightly too large for her mouth, she busied her other hand with typing on the communication console strapped to her wrist. Texting Mak Bri. He had sent a holomail a week and a half ago asking how her maiden voyage offplanet in the Aquarius had gone. Even for all the excitement unfolding around her, this was a relatively quiet moment to get out a reply.

Not a moment after she hit 'send' did the muscles stretching across her back suddenly contract as a very mild shock rippled through them. She threw her arm down and spun on her heel even though she well knew the perpetrator. "Squish!" she exclaim with fake annoyance at her steely grey and green ID19 seeker droid painted like a saberjowl. There was a glint in his single, red eye from the lights all around, but it made him look mischievous nonetheless.

For a moment, sadness replaced playfulness as Damsy remembered Trinj the seamouse, but she left it there on the street corner as she placed the remainder of her fried snack in her mouth and tore after her new droid companion.

It was a nice change... After so many years scrambling up the social ladder, finally reaching the heights of Viceroy of a wealthy planet in Confederate space, Valencia had been to many parties not dissimilar to the one that boomed, uproariously at her back - but rarely did she have the pleasure of attending one as a guest of no consequence.

She'd dusted off a little number from the now vastly underused walk-in in her quarters back on Manda, and thrown on a pair of heels to match. Her hair was pushed over to show the tidy side-shave above her left ear and a set of crystalline cuffs around the curve of the same ear. Her make-up was simple, a touch of black around the eyes and smattering of gloss on her lips to at least show she'd put in a bit of effort. She knew better than to come totally bare faced if she was going to be rubbing elbows with the elite of the Confederacy...

It was her birthday, after all. Two years strong. Hurrah.

Swirling the tumbler of dark amber liquid in her right hand, the former Viceroy lifted her gaze to scan the city far below the party. For a moment she wondered if she'd selected the wrong venue to help her comrades celebrate this momentous anniversary - but then she suspected that the pair she was meant to meet here would not have appreciated wandering the street fair... A soft huff escaped those expertly decorated lips before she lifted the glass and downed what was left of her drink, setting the empty glass along the railing that lined the balcony and turning her back on the dancing lights of the cityscape below.

From her earlier trip through the interior of the club that was required to reach the balcony, the blonde knew she wasn't much interested in returning to it. The bass had been heavy enough that when she'd breathed in through her nose it had itched mildly, and her ears were still ringing a touch as a result - though she worried that the pair she'd been here to meet may have decided to retire to the bar inside to save the city views for later in the evening... That was always the worry with these sorts of events. Everything was so loud and a combination of blindingly bright and pitch black - it made finding anyone a bit of a nightmare.

She didn't recall hating it all this much a few months before... Then again, she recalled quite clearly feeling much more at home in a little dress and some heels then as well. So much had changed, and so quickly - it left her feeling a little less herself all around, and for whatever reason, his presence seemed to be one of the only things that could calm that feeling of being disconnected. It was with that thought that she found herself at the massive double doors that lead back to the interior dance floor, leaning her shoulder against the edge of the doorway and crossing her arms under her chest.

She'd wait here then; somewhere she could keep an eye on the interior as well as enjoy the clean, cool air of the balcony at her back.

This was a welcome change of pace.

Though the heavens above boomed with pyrotechnics, the only explosions the Sith could hear were that of bass. He could feel the vibrations before the turbolift even made its final stop upon the floor, and that in of itself illicited a curious smile from the man. This day, the people of his nation had gathered together to celebration two momentous occasions. Firstly, a new world had entered the fold in the form of Fondor: a renowned world that had always aided the cause of freedom over the years. Secondly, on this day years ago, Darth Metus approached a handful of troubled worlds with an alternative to their plight. Rather than be consumed by the wars of the present, he suggested self-determination to Geonosis and Ryloth. And, in doing so, the Confederacy of Independent Systems was born. To have grown and survived this long in their turbulent Galaxy was certainly cause for celebration.

And the Vicelord would certainly raise a glass in honor of these two realities. However, as the glass doors of the lift gave was to permit his movement, there were additional reasons to celebrate tonight. In particular, there were ambitions worthy of his personal attention and recognition. Specifically in the form of [member="Faye Malvern"]. Over the course of her blossoming career, she had proven herself worthy and capable of the mantle Minister of Influence - and tonight would be the commencement of her role. Moreover, the Sith had called someone who had been progressing quite incredibly to join him amidst the music and pyrotechnics this evening. She had once been a member of the nation's political sphere as Faye, but had chosen a different path...

Eshan had inspired changes in many. Scars for some. Ambitions for others. In the case of [member="Valencia Hadley"], she decided to take advantage of the gift the Sith Lord had identified in her. For decades, she had cultivated her ability to navigate the world of politics and intrigue with ease. But. Now she had decided to dive into the world that had cultivated the Vicelord. A world of power, martial might, and dominance. A world where she was no longer a politician, but an informal apprentice to Darth Metus. When he had first met the former Viceroy of Manda, their time together had been intimate to say the least. Now, practically all priority had been devoted to mastering what it took to survive another Eshan.

And as a result, it was the duty of any mentor to recognize just how far a student had come. In the case of Valencia, she had matured in her power more than she gave herself credit for. She was now, at least as far as he could tell, at ease with the wildfire of potential which burned within. She could muster it on a whim and, with effort, could surpass her mentor's expectations at every turn. Valencia had earned a night away from the dusty winds of Ryloth, that was for certain. And, as the Sith disembarked from the lift, she was the first soul he searched for amidst the crowd that had mustered that far. Fortunately, it was not difficult to feel for her over the music.

Upon locating her presence above the noise, Darth Metus paused only to reach within his pocket. The micro-datapad located there was briefly secured and a missive sent to his daughter, [member="Damsy Callat"], informing her of where he could be found. Since his injuries on Eshan, things had been...better...between the pair. Far from perfect, but leagues from the strain that once defined them. Overall, he knew that any efforts made towards being more present in her life she would adore - and thus, he would always take that chance. Even now, on Independence Day. Once the missive was on its way, Darth Metus then returned his attention upon the former politician.

And soon, his confident strides would bear him to the entryway to the balcony, where an excessively pretty woman waited with her arms crossed. Bemused, the Sith offered a smile. "Excuse me miss, are you waiting for someone?" he inquired with a whimsical tone. The lilt in his voice was abandoned thereafter, replaced with his usual baritone. "Faye shouldn't be too long. Would you prefer we waited for her at a table or out on the balcony?" The Sith honestly didn't have a preference, as he was already where he wanted to be.

Kaden had never thought he would be standing in the middle of a celebration to honor the founding of the Confederacy. There were certainly mixed feeling about the idea as one time he knew his people to be at odds with the Vicelord himself, well his former wife had been. There were other truths Kaden had learned over time, as he grew and observed the galaxy. Death also had a way of making things extremely clear, and unfortunately for Kaden, he had to literally die to learn one hard lesson. Nothing was ever as it seemed. Well almost nothing. Everything was complicated to a degree, which was why Kaden wanted to cling to the things which seemed simple.

The streets seemed to be alive with celebration. No matter where one looked there was always something to do, someone to meet, and places to explore. The world of Fondor had generously agreed to host the celebration, and from what Kaden could see, they had gone all out. Word around the Confederacy had been the celebration would not be one to miss, and something to enjoy with others. While Kaden usually refrained from the idea of parties in general, this sounded like one he could get behind, and there was only one person he wanted to spend the evening with.

A message had been sent to [member="Daisy Americus"] one week leading up to the event. The two had been in contact, sending each other small missives, noted of encouragement, or random tidbits or humourous things as it suited them. Kaden could not help but feel that recently his two attempts at displaying affection had been ill timed, and left a bit of an awkward undertone, as if having haunted the woman for a few months hadn’t made things awkward enough. Still, Kaden had invited Daisy to join him, and she had thankfully accepted.

As Kaden played their meetings through his mind, this was the first time he had asked her to join him for anything officially. They had met and seen each quite often, more often that what could be considered coincidence, but it had either been random, or Daisy had been the one to initiate. Truth be told, Kaden had been wrestling with his feelings for the blonde for some time, whether he should even pursue them in full. All of that changed when Daisy had a brush with a potentially gruesome death on Thyferra. It was an odd thought that Kaden’s promise she would not turn into one the creatures which resulted from a botched batch of bacta even if he had to shoot her himself was what made him realize exactly how much he cared for the blonde. It had. Kaden simply refused to call it anything other than what it was.

There were too many options, but Kaden figured the two of them could explore everything over the course of the night. It was a bit too early for anything to eat yet, so it seemed the carnival was the place to start. The lights and music of the games and booths beckoned the pair over, boasting all kinds of fun to be had. Most of the games were likely rigged of course, but Kaden did not care. The night was about fun and celebrating everything the Confederacy embodied. For Kaden that meant a new start and a new life.

Kaden smiled as he looked at his date for the night admiring the outfit she had chosen to wear. On his own, Kaden was dressed casually with a pair of dark wash slim cut denim like pant, a navy blue button down shirt which was worn under a black leather jacket. The boots Kaden wore matched the jacket, and as usual his twin pistols were under the jacket in shoulder holsters. Kaden always assumed he would need them, even when it seemed he would not.

“Right,” Kaden said as they approached a booth which had ten bottles stacked in the form of a pyramid, “See anything you want to try first?”

She didn't let it ring this time around.

Instead, she skid to a stop, bracing herself on the post of a nearby shop's awning with an outstretched arm. Raising her wrist, she looked over the notification, and then read the full message. So, he was on the thirteenth floor of the Guild Tower? Instinctively, she rose her head and looked about. Crowds, of course, on either side of her, but if she took a few steps out into the intersection and turned her head to the left, she could see down the promenade to the skyscraper in question.

"Hmm," the hybrid mused to herself. Tonal beeping approached her as she did, from the north. "I think we should go--" she began, pointing to the building as she spoke. Before she could finish, through, a high-pitched whir erupted from the seeker. He then floated off in that direction, leaving Damsy to mutter something in Kaminoan before beginning to run after Squish again.

t was yet another Confederate celebration. Scherezade sighed as she snuck from the streets into the Cage, a place where drink and fried food was offered.

She'd tried some of the other food offered by street vendors earlier. The fried rice had… Well, rice, and the dumplings had been too sweet for her palette. There were a few exotic meats offered as well, and she would have loved them had they not come entirely wrapped in various doughs. She didn't like the bread stuff.

Everywhere her growing eyes looked though, people were together. Whether it was couples that were enjoying some time together, or groups of friends, it seemed no one she recognized had arrived on their own. She knew her best friend and her current beau were somewhere around the area as well, but she wasn't in the mood to feel like a third wheel again. If any fighting would break out, they'd be able to find each other with ease anyway.

Part of her hoped that fighting would break out. Zombies again, or some rabid Mandalorians, or anything really. Anything that would take some of the edge off. It didn't matter that she was woefully under-armed by her own standards.

So she'd snuck into the sports bar and gotten herself a big basket full of bantha wings. People around were playing various bar games, or watching the gigantic screens. Scherezade nodded to herself. She could finish her platter of wings, and then try to wriggle into a pool game or something.

It's been quite some time since I have been able to enjoy simple lights, the sounds of the city, and a drink to keep me company. While the rather loud thumping of music behind me was slightly muffled by the closed doors. I didn't even know what drink I had. Just one that I asked the bartender to give me on a whim. It was a mild drink. Not too dry, nor too sweet. Tasting like a host of berries and other stuff. Cutesy girl drink. Won't deny it was good, but nothing near enough to get me drunk or even lightly buzzed. Having been quite a long time since I have been able to do something like that.

The nice breeze easing itself along the balcony that was separate from the main dance floor and the many people who were enjoying the party of the CIS independence. Having a couple of strands of hair fall in front of my face, I reached up with my gloved hand to push some away.

I didn't honestly come to rejoice in such independence. I came to enjoy the smaller things of the city. The night life, the soft wind, the bustling city below. I honestly didn't know if that was okay. Where I had come from, my world was downtrodden. Filled with a loss of hope. People dying every day. You couldn't stop it. However, it seemed like it was all far long ago. Looking around, saw a few couples who were enjoying drinks. Talking, or otherwise enjoying themselves. One in the far corner was nearing the end of PDA and more towards the spectrum of needed to get a room. However, no one bothered them all that much.

What mostly caught my eye was an older individual. A man with his eyes covered and hidden from the rest of the world. Blind? I could only assume as much. Age was catching every so closely to him. I was intrigued, but kept my distance. He was likely looking and feeling the same as myself. Wanting to be left to their own devices, in a world where it seemed like everyone else had a partner. However, I was sure to be wrong.

Closing the distance, I merely asked him a question. Just something small.

"What do you happen to be drinking tonight sir?"

 

[Alkor Centaris]

Alkor had taken the patrol duty to himself in order to allow some of the younger, more excited Knights to enjoy the evening's festivities. Many headed for the games or the food, while others secreted away toward the Guild Tower to enjoy the fireworks. For the Dark Jedi who ever felt out of place with his duties, time alone was sacrosanct. He moved quietly through the conglomeration of Confederate Citizens and dignitaries alike, all made equal on this day by the nature of it. The only difference was who could get into the VIPs.

The Caterpillar had been the talk of the streets for hours by the time he found it, and multiple denizens had commented on how beautiful the city looked from above. Secretly, he wanted to know. He wanted to feel what Fondor felt like from above, and to look down like a bird on freedom's wings.

And so, against his general standard operating procedure, he snuck aboard one of the pods preparing to take off.

Voph was leaning against the railing of the balcony when the question was asked. Small talk. Pointless. But, it wasn't like he had anything better to do. He glanced to his left as a young woman approached. No older than his youngest, if he had to guess. His white hair was tied back in a short ponytail, as always, and as always, that one strand of hair had escaped confinement to torment his face. But he'd grown used to it by now. And it didn't exactly obscure his vision.

His garb was simple for a man of his station. He was here as a member of the Confederacy, and thus as a Viceroy, not as the High Councilor of Vylmira. One and the same position, really. But his simple tunic and complimentary gloves didn't mark him as a man of that station. With the lightsaber hanging from his hip, he seemed to be a Jedi more than anything. Aside from the brooding nature. He turned his head to look at the girl, an odd species he'd not encountered before. "Whiskey. Corellean."

His answer was simple enough, the deep rumble of his imperial accented bass echoing around the balcony. His brow furrowed as he looked the girl up and down, even if his head did not move. "Are you a native? Or here with the Confederacy? I don't think I've encountered you before. You, or any of your kind..."

“This is highly inappropriate, Your Grace!” was the first thing out of her adviser's mouths upon learning their elected Queen would be dangling over a vat of water in a flirty costume for people to ‘dunk’.

“Unacceptable!”

“Unbecoming of your status!”

So of course, Vyra just had to do it.

The ‘Shooting Star’ dunking booth had taken its ‘theme’ and run with it, sparing no expense. Every inch of the elaborate set shimmered like a technicolor night sky, periodically showering itself and its surroundings in stars (you got a prize if you could catch one in your hand!). The glass tank itself was vast, crystalline waters decorated with glittering bubbles and flowers, their scent drowned beneath the smells of roasting meats and sugared treats that wafted from the food stalls. Its open exterior was protected by an invisible shield that, aside from shielding the ‘Starlet’ from damage via horribly aimed projectiles, possessed some Force-blocking capabilities that extended the length of the booth in hopes of avoiding any cheating scandal and providing its powerful clientele with a bit more of a challenge. Five feet above the waters surface floated a small, slender white throne that occasionally bobbed precariously when people walked by.

A single bright star target bounced erratically around a backdrop of navy blue to the side of the tank, barrels of multicolored glittery balls nestled in the grass about six or seven yards away. In front of it all, a spindly man in a violet top hat and shining, campy costume with an infectious grin shouted friendly taunts and challenges at the fair-goers, daring them to try their hand at knocking the ‘Starlet Queen’ off her perch (winners promised a ‘truly remarkable’ prize and a genuine piece of the nearest star!).

Speaking of the ‘Starlet Queen’…

In truth, the only part of Vyra Silara’s ensemble that was truly uncomfortable was the crown. Exaggeratedly large, it sat heavily, cutting into the corners of her head and unbalancing her when she moved, so for most of her time above the water, she remained straight-backed and still as possible, waving at passersby and blowing stiff kisses at those who stopped to look.
The dress itself was truly a marvel, although the viceroy wasn’t sure it even qualified as a ‘dress’. More like a slightly longer-than-average shirt. She hadn’t shown this much leg in public since that time she’d gone skinny dipping. The fabric was unlike anything she’d seen or worn before, though. It was clear, fluid in its movement though it looked solid and rigid, like living sea-glass, able to shift on its own but freeze into shape should she will it. The flesh-colored under-gown was simple sand washed satin, brooming out around her hips and upper thighs as it all cinched tightly at her waist. A pair of heels made from a flexible crystal adorned her feet, gleaming incandescently, sending up tiny fireworks every time they impacted the floor (or each other).

Highly inappropriate, indeed.
It was spectacularly rebellious for the Queen of Relovian, a bit of flashy, defiant fun. No one wanted to follow a leader who couldn’t depart from the stern business and stodgy royal affairs every once in a while, and it was a lesson she intended to share with her people repeatedly, until they understood it.

So, Vyra perched primly on her gaudy throne above the tank, giggled and waved, and waited. No one had unseated her as of yet, though plenty had tried.

But the night was still very young.

Robes and white hair. With a head turn, the man answered very simply of Whiskey. Specifically the Corellian flavor. An easy whisky to start with, with quite a desire for it simply due to its name alone. I didn't judge him of it in the slightest. More so respected that he drank something that wasn't utter crap. However, what came after surprised me. Yes, I could very well understand if no one had met me before. Yes, I keep to myself so very likely no one here has seen me before. However, he specifically asked of my kind. As a blind man, how could he tell the difference between me, and your normal near human species? Curious at first, I let it slide into a smile.

"Atoan. Typically we stay to ourselves on our home. So much so, my people don't speak what you would call Galactic Basic."

​Turning away from him, I took another sip of the barely legal chemistry experiment of a concoction.

"Numerous hearts. Instead of one singular heart, we have many in various places. Makes it much easier to survive, and can lead to a very healthy life comparable to most."

Turning back to him, I smiled lightly again.

"That was going to be your next question, yes?"

"No, my next question was to assume you worked for the Confederacy, and ask which division. Clearly something combat oriented from your..." Voph gestured with an extended finger from the hand that held his drink, pointing down, then up, then down again. "...Dress." Voph took a gulp of his drink, turning back to look at the city below. "Unless of course, you're one of those Viceroys that have a strange sense of fashion." Voph smirked quietly, drumming the fingers on his left hand against the railing.

"Interesting biological advantage, though." He glanced back at the woman beside him. "Assuming you're paired against someone wholly untrained, or not using a lightsaber." The way she carried herself, Voph guessed she was a warrior of some kind. No lightsaber, but she was Force Sensitive. "But, I'm sure you have methods of dealing with such things without relying on your unusual anatomy."

I sighed ever so slightly as the man explained his thoughts. More so that he was going to ask my rank and what I did with the Confederacy. Even more so considering I wasn't wearing an actual dress, and more so just nice clothes. I shrugged lightly and moved to lean at the railing. My arms holding weight against the frame, while my feet ever so lightly crossed over one another. The comment of a Viceroy that had a strange sense of fashion made me smirk and shake my head.

I stayed silent as he continued. While seemingly using whatever advantage he had with the force to see what I was. Even more so, correctly assuming that I used some other forms of combat without that of the coveted Lightsaber that many used.

"Why would I need your laser swords, when I am more than capable of using my hands?"

A very much rhetorical question, but one I posed nonetheless.

"I am a member of the Crusaders that are hosted by your Confederacy. However, within my clan, I am... a veteran as you would call it."

I flipped myself around. Letting my back lean against the railing now. Taking a sip further from my own glass. Nearly empty now.

"Lucina Sunstryker. However, today, just someone wishing to drink and be merry."

So, she was crazy. Certifiable.

Every time she went out on some looney Confederate adventure she came back with a problem. Sometimes, it was a handsome ghost. Other times it was a decontamination shower and a full blood panel to ensure she wasn’t a carrier for a virus that turned others into violent cannibals. The golden-haired woman was on the mend from the experience, but, she was doing better. There was no way she was going anywhere near a hot spring ever again.

Daisy had never been to a street fair. Not this kind of shindig anyway. Every time she saw what the Confederacy put together for their gatherings, she was reminded of how small the world she came from actually was. Haseria was a dust bowl that just happened to have a sprinkling of green and farmland. She loved her home. But this? It was something entirely new. Seafoam green eyes took on the brightness of the lights that flared through the game booths. It caused a certain flare, a look of wonderment, while she unintentionally spaced out on the man that had invited her.

When his words pulled her head out of the clouds, she had the decency to look embarrassed. What was wrong with her that she got all empty headed around someone that looked like he did? Daisy could be a little thick sometimes, but, she wasn’t blind. He couldn’t have filled out his denims better than if they were painted on…So why did she keep finding distractions? Little things that pulled at her, sidetracking her, so that she wouldn’t have to think about one [member="Kaden Farr"]. Even after all of the messages they’d passed back and forth recently she was left hesitant.

How could not be? He’d been dead. He’d been married to the Mandalore. Daisy still couldn’t wrap her mind around that. Was she breaking some new tenant, some sort of vow, every time she glanced at him twice? Wasn’t there some old law or phrase in Mando’a that proclaimed thou shalt not covet the husband (one of the husbands) of the Sole Ruler? Dar’manda, she technically already was, how much worse could it get?

The golden-haired Mandalorian wore her hair down in long, flowing waves, and had donned a white pair of denims with a red camisole and a black, thin knit, loose sweater. Nothing too fancy. Just…Something that she could hide a slugthrower in the back of and no one would be the wiser. Daisy glanced down, dark-gold lashes dusting her cheeks, before she looked back up at Kaden. “We can try this one.”, she murmured, accent thick, while she reached into her pocket for a few credits.

The tall man running the stand brought her a serious of leather-bound balls, with brown stitching, and she had to juggle them carefully for a moment. Gingerly, she handed some of them to Kaden, before she pulled back and let one fly. The first throw was a little off, while the next, was better. For the last the pins were reset and she nudged Kaden. “You try. You’re supposed to knock ‘em down all at once…”

“Maybe you can win a prize, assuming’ boys like you can hit the broad side of a barn.”

With a nod of his head Kaden agreed that they might as well start with the booth they were at. He watched as a couple others tried to play the game and came oh so close to reaching the objective. The tall man behind the booth smiled when Daisy handed him a few credits with a semi toothless grin that spoke to the hygiene regimen of these carnival hands. It seemed stereotypical of the kind of booths and rides that seemed to be brought in on short notice. Kaden chuckled slightly at the thought before Daisy dropped a few of the leather bound balls into his hands.

Eyes looked down at the detail of the stitching as Daisy wound up her arm and took a shot at knocking the pins down. Her aim was not as good at the true strike of her teasing. Could he hit the broad side of a barn? Kaden simply shook his head as he walked up to the edge of the booth and looked at the pins ahead of him. His mind was slightly pre-occupied, but he found himself grinning as the retort came running off his tongue.

“Do I look like an Imperial Stormtrooper to you?” He winked at the blonde, though he could not help but think that had a few more minutes pass without a cure she would have found out just how true his aim was.

The thought crushed the mando inside. The last thing in the galaxy he wanted was to see Daisy sent to the afterlife. Despite the awkward tension between them, and the things he was working through himself, Kaden found Daisy’s presence to be comforting. It was complicated and simple at the same time. Her teasing was enough to motivate him to prove her wrong. Pulling his arm back, Kaden practiced his throw a couple of times before he took aim and let the ball fly. In his mind it was just like throwing a knife, and as he released Kaden simply envisioned the pins falling down with a grand crash. Whether he accidentally used the force, or his aim was truly as good as he boasted, the pins went flying about as the ball hit them just right.

A smug little smile pulled at Kaden’s lips as he turned and faced the blonde belle. A few of the bystanders who saw what just took place applauded and cheered as the man running the booth reached for a giant plush Nexu toy. Kaden hoped Daisy would be ecstatic about the fact he won, and in turn handed the prize over to her. What was Kaden going to do with a plush Nexu anyway, give it to the daughter he never got to see. Kaden pondered for a moment trying to recall if the subject of Adara had come up in conversation. Not that it mattered, Kaden had only held her once, aside from actually being her father, Kaden felt he had no claim to her at all.

“For you,” he said with a smile as he awkwardly offered to take Daisy’s hand. There was something about touch which Daisy seemed to shy away from, granted the only time he tried was when he meant to press his forehead to hers. It was a more intimate action than what he should have attempted on his first attempt at displaying affection, but Kaden could not take that back. There was no reason to. “So… carnivals, not to sound like a lame shebs here, but… this is my first carnival. What all are we supposed to do at these things.”

Statements like that one made Kaden realize he did not have a childhood. A sigh escaped his lips as he looked over to the blonde as they walked toward what appeared to be a dunk tank. Kaden shrugged. “Are there any of these rides that you would say I could not have lived without riding?”

Fondor, a world that was considered apart of the core, a very tatcial planet to have, it's ship yards able to make entire fleets for a whole galactic power... it was just another reminder of how far the CIS had come, from a small group of planet at the southern end of the galaxy, to one of the largest and ever growing powers. Their rate of conquest and annexation made the Sith Empire look like a snail in comparison, which was laughable considering how old the dark side empire had been around for. Though this day was not one of politics, not for the Fondor people had arranged a celebration like no other, the princess using this occasion to once again retreat from the daily grind of work to relax and enjoy life. With the growth of her planet bureaucratic work just got larger, meaning less time to get away, it was a good thing her planet was still a back water world and not a large city planet, meant the lesser nobles could easily maintain a proper rule while she was away.

One this fine evening she was looking forward to watching the fireworks from the guild building, already the place housing several members of the CIS, most already lost with on another in conversations, much to busy to be bothered. Alas it was the problem of a single life, most here seemed to be some sort of close friends or couples, judging from the look of pairs of men and women going about. Grown up stuff was still a world yet to be explored, a unfortunate by product of her rough upbringing, a fact she sometimes wanted to change, but the past was the past, nothing could be done about that. For now, the young Echani was content sitting near the window, looking out at the differing city and sky, the contrast to her world being once again a nice sight.

The night's cool breeze fell over the Exarch's cheek, causing him to snap from the stupor that had taken him from the world around him. His pure amethyst eyes glanced up to the darkening skies, watching as they were filled with a hail of explosions. A myriad of colors exploded before the clouds above them, painting the pale puffs with a number of tints and hues. Sure, it was a beautiful sight, but nothing the Exarch had not seen before. He raised his hand to his face, adjusting the glasses that rested over his eyes. They were truly a pain to deal with. Had he believed he would ever require such things he would have gotten the proper surgery long ago. Alas, now it was too late. His workload was too heavy to seek corrective surgery just this minute, which left him with a more human answer to his problem. Still, they were not totally negative. His lover and fiancé, [member="Alessandra Creed"] had taken a notable shine to them and insisted he keep them. A few more weeks wouldn't hurt.

"Your Highness." A voice called from behind, causing Adron to glance back at the source of the call. The man who stood behind Adron was wearing a suit not unlike the Exarch's. Although, where Adron's suit was kissed with the finest hue of purple he could find, his guardsmen was woefully devoid of any color. The man held a flute filled with a golden liquid out to the Exarch, which was gratefully taken with a brief nod of appreciation. "Well, Commander?" The Exarch asked expectantly, his eyes peeling back to the explosions of color that continued on.

The guardsmen had thick brown hair which had been neatly, yet awkwardly combed back against his head. The scars that covered his cheek and ran up to his left temple were glaring, yet somehow they fit the man well. His voice shifted as he spoke fluently in a language foreign to most in the galaxy.

"La zone est securisee, votre majeste." The man's Illyrian was nearly flawless, and to the untrained ears it was almost a majestical language to be heard. Adron listened to the subtle cues of his report and finally waved his hand dismissively. "Then go, I have no more need of you. Just be sure my fiancé's security team is as competent as you are." His words walked a fine line between silk and ice, in such a way you could not tell if he was threatening the man or praising him. The man took a step back before placing his fist over his heart, bowing deeply at the waist before finally turning to leave the Exarch to his own thoughts. Adron did not spare him another look, instead his eyes turned to those who had gathered at the Guild Tower. There were a number of faces he recognized. Viceroys and Ministers, and even some members of the Confederacy's military. They had all come to enjoy the celebration as he had, however the difference was many of them were truly enjoying it.

Few truly stood out, but over time one did manage to catch the man's particular eyes. [member="Chikako Liona"] stood with silver hair where most others had black or brown. In the fall of the evening it was hard to miss the young Echani Princess. The Exarch had seldom given the woman much thought, they saw each other occasionally in passing and she was of the Viceroyalty, however they had not interacted outside of the chambers of the government. She was young, perhaps the youngest among the Viceroyalty. The thought caused the Exarch to draw his lips into a faint smile. He had been her age when he inherited the title of Jedi Lord or Serenno. Still, that was a lifetime ago.

Adron made his way over to the woman, still hosting the flute of what he had now identified as a fine champagne. He took a brief sip from the drink before finally approaching the young Echani. "Viceroy Liona." His head inclined at the woman respectfully, yet his tone was still silk wrapped around a silver dagger. "You know it's funny. I've worked with the Viceroyalty for years and I still have not directly met most of them. Hell, not even half. I'm not even scheduled to visit Tythe for another two years." It was the reality. The Confederacy had grown into a mighty superpower, which meant that the visits to certain planets on behalf of the Office of the Viceroy were limited. "How are you, my lady? Is there nobody to escort you this evening?" His tone projected a respect that he only offered to those of noble birth, trueborns who had been bred into their station and served it well. A respect he did not offer to all.

“If ah squint a little and had a few shots—ah could see it. Big ole’ head…”, she returned with a little sass, using it, to cover how unsteady she felt when he winked. Who actually did that, pulled it off, and managed not to look like a model from the holo-net? The golden-haired woman waited for him to take his shot and let her arms fall behind her back while she swayed a little whimsically. Could he clear the pins? She soon had her answer and her nose crinkled a little while she smiled. Her voice was sweet, tainted with a slight drawl. “Brahvo, cowboy…”

Part of her wondered if he’d cheated, but, it didn’t matter enough for her to call it out when he handed her the rather cartoonish Nexu plush. Normally they were fierce creatures. This one had slightly rounded teeth and flopping spikes that didn’t cause any pain. It was cute. Everyone around them just seemed so happy about someone winning the game that she could only blush and accept. Daisy pulled it to her chest, wrapping her arms around it, and squeezed softly. “Thank you.”

Kaden offered his hand to her and Daisy hesitated. She bit her lip before letting one of her hands fall from the stuffed creature so that her fingers could wrap around his. His hand felt strong, slightly callused, and warm. Her shoulders scrunched a little while she hid her face in the Nexu for a moment but she eventually relaxed. This wasn’t quite so intense as having his face so closer to her own. His scent when he breached fully into her personal space was downright dizzying. So much so that she instantly got tongue tied. “Ah’m pretty sure the idea is to have fun.”

A little smile hit the kiss of her mouth when the taller man asked her what rides they should choose and she began to pull him toward what looked to be a Sky Wheel. It was a huge circular ride for amusement that took people round and round in slow circles so they could see the sky. Everything was so pretty, so beautiful, that Daisy couldn’t help but want to see it from up high.

Stylish magenta heels clicked on the permacrete walkways while her flaxen head bobbed with a certain sense of carefree innocence that didn’t belong with a soldier that killed on the regular. She looked wistfully at the suspended carriages that would offer a birds-eye view and paused while they waited in line for the ticket taker. She would have to let go of Kaden’s hand to dig out her credits, but until then, she kept it. It felt almost like keeping a secret—Something she would hold close to her heart and refuse to let go. It was better that way.

Better, that she not try and overthink it, look too deep, or figure out what was really happening.

Daisy felt a heavy level of confusion. She felt a pull in his direction, an attraction, but it felt wrong. How did someone suddenly not belong to the Sole Ruler? Did death negate it? The young Americus may have left Concord Dawn, might have left her home, may have even waged war, but she had never done anything to the Mandalore that could be considered personal. This?

Even entertaining the thought of whatever this was…It felt pretty personal. That—Just made her feel guilty.
