Edge of Atrisian System
On-board the Starfall

@[member="Akio Kahoshi"]

Ayden stood on the bridge, cigar held at the corner of his lip. Scant hours ago, the Atrisians had launched an invasion of the Fondor system. In their arrogance, they had declared the Protectorate weak and had called for the immediate surrender of every military ship in the system and for Ayden to discuss terms of transition with an emperor that was too cowardly to show up himself.

"Bring up long-range communications. Hail their capital." Ayden waited for his com officer to signal him that the channel was open before he began. "You erred, Emperor Kahoshi. You dared to march up to my doorstep and tell me to bend knee to you." Disdain was etched into the Corellian's face and voice as he continued. "You arrogantly presumed that we would bend knee to you while your own capital world still bears the scars of the Fringe invasion? We are not some backwater rabble to be cowed with a few ships and a declaration.

We are the Protectorate. We have stood since before the Atrisians dared lay claim to other worlds. We have stood for longer than you ever dared to call yourself the 'Galactic Empire'." Ayden was close to a sneer as he continued. "You live in the shadows of giants and dare call yourself an Empire. I know what you would have me call you, and I will not give you the pleasure. For months, you have sat there and wallowed in your own self-importance, while the galaxy continued its struggle for peace and fought against the darkness."

"You failed, Emperor, and now the Protectorate is here to collect dues." As he said that, the rest of the Protectorate fleet dropped in behind him at the edge of the system. "However, I am not a heartless man. I don't want to burn a world for one man's mistake. You ordered your ships into our sovereign space and demanded our freedom. You ordered those ships into our space and fired on us. This transgression will not go unpunished. So, this is my offer; You will order the surrender of all your military ships in the system and you will meet with me to discuss the matter of reparations and repercussions. You can surrender to me now and avoid bloodshed, or you can surrender to me when I sit upon your throne and your fleet burns in the sky. The choice is your. You have five galactic standard minutes to respond."

----------

Protectorate forces and allies are to make no attacks until the Emperor has responded.

On board of the Starfall

HK watched the transmission from the back of Starfall's bridge, he was standing there since he came aboard before their jump from Fondor.
One of his hands were folded behind his back, another was resting on a metal cane at his side, his cloak cascading off of his back and his traditional Jedi robes dangled at metal ankles from below his armor carapace. Why did a droid need a cane? For style, of course.

He stood silent as Ayden gave the Empire terms of surrender, walking over quietly to the holoprojector map to watch over the movements as their ships jumped into the system, among them was his adventuring frigate the Siege Tower, right besides Starfall doing its duty of capital ship escort.

As Ayden finished his transmission HK spoke up, glancing up with his dull glowing eyes.
"Perhaps you should be cautious, my Lord Protector. Many who sit on that throne do not sit for too long, and I calculate you may have to give orders of surrender from it just yet."
The aging droid looked back to the holo-map
"So the Atrisians are the Empire now? That must be a tale I will need to hear sometime."

"Sir, the Tower is ready."
Came to HK transmission on encrypted channel, he received it silently through his built-in comm unit.
"Very well, standby for orders."

Ivy had yet to leave the presence of the Lord Protector. A living, breathing fixture within the bridge of the Starfall, the merc hung back to distract her tuk'ata hound from hyperspace with a contained game of fetch off to the side. Lye had never shown much appreciation for hyperspace, and if he hadn't something to entertain him he was liable to puke everywhere. Ivy wasn't keen on having to apologize for such a mess, or having to clean it up for that matter, at least not on this particular ship.

You may have read that sentence twice. Tuk'ata hounds...fetch? This one will and does, until the object in fetching-question is too mutilated to fetch anymore.

The more you know.

When they arrived she gave up trying to get the ball back from the beast and instead left Lye to a corner where it chewed enthusiastically. A pitiful skweek sounding between gobs of slobber.

Ivy hung back as he addressed the Emperor and waited quietly, patiently, leaning against a nearby desk where one of his crew feverishly worked on bringing shields to full power. She took this time to marvel at the multitude of control panels used to Captain this ungodly ship. This was why she passed up the offer from the Sith Empire working alongside the Grand Admiral. She had no mind for these beasts - she'd stick to her freighter where things were smaller and simpler.

Diana stood on the bridge of the Starfall, her eyes listless and her body language telling of almost scalding apprehension. She did not like this. To her this was a war that had not needed to be fought, a war that had really no purpose at all, one that seemed pointless all and all.

Oh she understood the idea of repercussions and vengeance well, on some level she had even partook in an act of vengeance, but the idea of starting a war over it did not sit well with the Jedi Master. Unfortunately for her of course she had no real influence of control here, her words did not matter except for perhaps in a private bond between herself and @[member="Ayden Cater"], but even then the man was far too headstrong to listen to her.

So instead of arguing against this inevitable battle, against this inevitable strike against the Atrisians and their homeworld. Diana had chosen to accompany the protectorate and their fleet. It wasn't a backing of the war by the Republic of course, she was here as an individual, not as a Jedi Master of the Republic, but as Diana Moridena, the Kiffar.

Kiffu, her own homeworld lay within the Protectorate of course, and if anyone asked that would be her excuse.

In reality she was here more than anything to watch. She wanted to observe and watch over, though her greatest goal on this day was to stop the spilling of unnecessary blood. To make sure this conflict ended as fast as possible. Though a piece of her was here simply to help @[member="Ayden Cater"], should he need it. Diana was perhaps one of the greatest fighters in the Republic, and if Ayden needed her help...then she would help.

With listless eyes she stared ahead at the Imperial capital, her jaw set hard. She didn't like this one bit.

Objective: Lets talk about over your brains, maybe all over the place?
Noah stood quitely as Ayden gave his terms of surrender and called the Arts out on their misdeeds and arrogance. When he heard HK ask about when the Artisians became the Empire,he scoffed. "They never 'became' the Galactic Empire, bro. They just call themselves that because they have small-" Noah was about to continue when he got a ping on the datapad he was carrying. The ping said that all forces were loaded into the the assault craft and all fighter, bombers and gunships were ready for launch. Noah smiled and uploaded this to the console nearest to Ayden. Noah then glanced over to the Jedi and chuckled as she saw her jaw had set tight. "Don't worry Jedi,no civvies are going to be killed, its simply military targets." Noah informed her.

Starfall Bridge
Corner

Hovering cross legged at the rear of the bridge a few inches above the floor was a lone Jedi in beskar colored so dark red as to be more maroon than anything. His robes matched it in color and upon his face was a bone white mask that resembled porcelain. Upon its right cheek was a rent stapled shut like a long ago injury that had simply never healed.

Propped against the wall next to him was a shortened DC-15A, ancient by anyone's standards. Upon his neck hung a battered pair of OmegaPyre dog tags of a design no longer in use. Stenciled across them was a simple name - 'Sarge.'

He was hiding no more, at least not fully. The only people who would know who he was were the people on the bridge. But even those thoughts weren't on his mind.

No, he was too deep in a meditative trance to care much about what was going on around him. He would not move until such a time as it was necessary. The battle would start, or this would end. He knew it would be the former, but as a Jedi... the latter appealed to him more.

"Wars erupted for less, my friend."
The droid replied to Noah as he looked over the room, his gaze lingering over Sarge and his mask, which was new to the droid, it reminded him of a mask he has taken off of somebody once long ago.
Before long he continued his gaze to look over others, he did not recognize Ivy and Diana, he gave them a nod, or a small bow of sorts in a greeting.
"I do not believe we have met, my Ladies, I am First Baron of the Protectorate, Iron Knight, Observer of Abregado-Rae and Commander of Iron Company and the Siege Tower, adventuring frigate."
He looked back up to them, slowly coming back from the bow
"Also known as the Metal Demon by the Eldorai and the Witch King by creatures that lay forgotten in depths of space I just returned from."
He glanced to Noah briefly before looking back to them, continuing with his monotone drawl
"Some noble ladies and droids even know me as the Heart Breaker, I can do weddings, and I am surprisingly good singer and painter, Exarch Alcori and Colonel Kerrigan can vouch for this."
He folded his hand back behind his back
"At your service."

"You'd think that he has a servo loose or a thin wire. But I've seen him paint and sing,he actually pretty good." Noah informed them as he walked up behind the droid and crossed his arms over his chest. "But your probably wondering who I am as well. Name's Corek,Colonel Noah Corek. Commander of the Omega Pyre and formed Republic Commando." Noah told them as he gave them a small smile and then leaned so only HK could hear. "Ummm, buddy,Kerrigan isn't a Colonel anymore and Alcori isn't a Exarch, they retired." Noah informed his friend as they stood there.

"I am aware of that my friend."
He answered briefly looking to Noah
"I have called them Exarch and Ever-Colonel even when Lady Alcori was the Lady Protector and Ever-Colonel Kerrigan was an Exarch."
He would look back to Diana and Ivy
"It pissed Kerrigan off to no end."

Starfall - Bridge

Ivy had yet to notice the armored Jedi meditating in the back. Generally these were things she would pick up on, but something else had drawn her attention.

A red-haired woman towards the middle, one she recognized immediately but for some reason had a hard time believing was really there. The last time she'd seen her was the first time they met, and it had been a deeply emotional and spiritual experience. They had bonded on a level Ivy wasn't even aware she was still capable of.

She looked to the HK droid and the other approaching man, nodding absently to each, "Nice to meet you, excuse me a moment." Without another word Ivy pressed past them and moved towards the Jedi Master, "Diana?"

As she heard a familiar voice pierce her ear drums Diana's listless eyes broke away into pure and unbridled happiness. A smile split her face in two and her eyes welled up with tears of joy almost before she could turn to face the other woman. Moving with lightning like speed The Jedi Master flashed forward towards Ivy, almost at the top of her lungs she yelled the womans name “Hazel!”

Not even waiting for the mercenary to react Diana embraced Ivy in a warm enveloping hug.

Whether or not she had wanted it. It was happening.

Back on Kashyyk where they had first met Ivy and Diana had formed quite a bond, one just as strong as Diana had with Daella, but of a different nature. On the forest world a friendship had formed between the two women, one unbroken by space and time. Diana couldn't stop smiling, her glee more than evident.

That Jedi was fast.

Eyes buldging, Ivy blinked down at Diana with a look of bewilderment. It was still an odd feeling, to be so close to a Force User against all her distaste for them, but here it was. The Merc slowly came-to and reached to envelope Diana in a tight embrace, armored plated arms and all.

"You confounded Jedi, keep your tears to yourself," she grumbled to her friend, face buried in the woman's red hair, feeling Diana's more diminutive form squeeze a few out of her own eyes. It was like being reunited with a long lost beloved sister, only this one had an emotional state greater than a boulder, unlike her sister-in-law, Sephoria.

She blamed the Sith for that one.

Diana let out a happy child like giggle, rather unbecoming of a Jedi Master.

At the moment however she did not care, she had met up with an old friend on the eve of what could become perhaps one of the greatest battles in the history of the galaxy. This was a counter balance, something happy to go with something sad. Of course all the soldiers and officers on this bridge likely thought the two of them mad, but again Diana did not really care. She was happy, and damn everyone else.

Slowly the Jedi withdrew from her friend, tears no longer on her face but still welling in her eyes.

“You're with the Protectorate now?” She sounded almost startled, but it made sense. Ivy was a good person at heart, and the Protectorate was filled with good people. She shot a brief glance at @[member="Ayden Cater"], though it was so fast it was near impossible to see. She smiled at Ivy, a warm smile filled with love and affection for a friend long lost.

The droid looked to the giddy hugging women before glancing to Ayden as well
"How come you have never embraced me like that, Lord Protector?"
He turned back to the holo-map, folding one of his hands behind his back, the other one resting on his cane once more.
"That nun, Mother Garg or however she was called, the one that served in medical corps when I took them on humanitarian mission to Mustafar."
He looked back up to Noah and Ayden
"Now she was a good hugger."

..N..O..N..L..E..T..H..A..L..
There was a flash of an exceedingly rare, genuinely warm smile that the Merc returned as she reached to gently wipe the tears from Diana's cheeks with a gloved hand. The smile was gone before Diana's question was asked, and returned was that stoney expression that accompanied Ivy Lasranae throughout her life since waking.

She nodded, "Aye. Time will tell if they've made a good decision in taking me in. What are you doing here?" Few others would catch Diana's glance to the Lord Protector, but a woman of Ivy's background and training did. She turned her own gaze slowly, subtly in the same direction, seeming to pick up on something hidden in Diana's body language. A hand moved to the girl's shoulder where it squeezed gently, "Of course, the alliance. I'm getting forgetful in my old age."

Last she knew, relations within the Jedi Council were widely taboo. Even if it weren't still so, she'd save Diana the need to speak anything private in such a public setting.

The Jedi Master dipped her head slightly in a nod, a grateful smile on her face when Ivy answered her own question. Of course Ayden was only a piece of why she was here, only a piece. With a slight frown she finally regarded the droid and other man in the room. She also noted the presence of her apprentice upon the Bridge, though she said nothing to him. For a moment she let silence drift on the bridge, then she spoke again.

“This will be the second time i've faced an Emperor you know.” Diana spoke the words with a detached sort of tone. She assumed that Ayden would be going after Emperor Kahoshi, and Diana would be right alongside him.

Telling Ivy this wasn't a way of bragging, but more of a way to tell her what she had been through, what she had seen since they last met. Fighting Kaine had been a big milestone for her, and now she would likely have to fight another Dictator...or at least his guards.

..N..O..N..L..E..T..H..A..L..
A second encounter with an Emperor? Ivy raised a brow at this.

"You've been busy," hazel eyes took in the apparent new scars adorning her younger friend's face, "I've been in the Southern Wilds mostly, helping Gods spread their faith." Of course she hadn't been preaching so much as she had been collecting various bounties on those too stubborn to submit to the will of the Moross Crusade. There had been quite a few and her payday had been very good.

Add her paycheck from the Queen of Kuat in her latest venture to OP planet Quarzite and the Merc was set for a good while. She hadn't even had a chance to discuss income with the Lord Protector now that she'd joined up. Ivy had never been able to say she was rich, but it had also been a long time since she'd taken up a steady job.

Valerie Re'Daull

Val'Rain Sekairo in Disguise
STARFALL: Entering Bridge

Silver cloth clung tight to my cranium, hiding raven-colored locks from view. Contacts irritated my eyes, forcing me to leave the yellow orbs on display. Anyone who had met Ven'Rain Sekairo would see her in me. Same face, same height, same voice. Only difference was our accents. Hers had been deafeningly Imperial, mine was more of a subtle Coruscantian... But today I was Val'Rain, not just a copy of her. Just another soldier of the Protectorate, ready to kick some Atrisian ass. Unlike my counterpart, I was okay with things ending peacefully. That wasn't going to happen this time though. The 'Galactic Empire' wasn't going to just give up easily.

Hopefully casualties would be low. Our message will be delivered, that is clear. The question is how much we'll have to give up to get it across. It wasn't that I was scared to fight. Hell no, that was the whole reason I had been created. I just didn't like mindless violence. Protecting people was what I did. And if helping stop these people would reduce lives lost at later times, I'd participate in the fight. And I'd eliminate any enemy in my way. Once the fight was over I'd go back home, drink some tea, than go back to training.
Like usual.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Encased in a suit of Caedo 'o Moeror armor, I stepped onto the bridge, keeping quiet for a moment. An interesting scene was unraveling before me. Two lasses hugging, a droid (presumably HK-36, the famed Iron Knight), Noah Corek (who had helped design half of the weapons I had ever held), and the Lord Protector himself. I was a childe amongst titans. Nothing I wasn't used to, really. Giving a short bow I prepared to introduce myself, along with giving the status of my squad (who were waiting for orders).

"Val'Rain Sekairo reporting for Raven Squad. We're ready to give 'em hell."

HK would look towards the door as they opened, a familiar face came forth and he nodded, giving her a small bow in greeting.
"Miss Rain, my dear lass, it has been a while indeed, I do not believe we have spoken since our little interview. But then again that was back when Lady Protector ordered me to wear hats."
He slightly tilted his head
"Did you change spelling of your name?"
He was unaware of true identity of Val, and the death of Ven with who he saw on battlefield and hunts few times.

The inquiry made me cringe. I had never met HK, but Ven had considered the man an ally, and a sort of friend. Now it was time to break some bad news... Along with revealing my identity- or at least my false one. Letting everyone know I was a clone was not on my agenda. "Forgive me sir, but we've never met... The Ven'Rain you are undoubtedly referring to has, well... departed. Poor lass was killed nearly a month ago. The details of her passing are vague, and have been greatly altered. I... I do not know what happened to her." I explained it as calmly as I could. Part of me was nervous, quite understandably. "I'm her twin, Val'Rain." It was an outright lie. But it was as close to the truth as I'd ever willingly let someone know.
