  • EMP/Ion - The Parabrite/Dunalmite alloy paired with the Kirishima Cap Drains makes this vessel highly resistant to the effects of either energy, allowing it to shrug off attempts to shut down systems inside the ship and even transferring the energy to shield power.
  • Stealth Polymer - During the process of construction, the materials were doped with HPI's stealth polymer, and while the surface of the ship is still highly reflective, run of the mill scanners notably have difficulty picking up these ships at times.
  • Hull Integrity - The Ossis II framework gives the ship an incredible amount of integrity in regard to kinetic resistance such as ramming or even direct kinetic hits.
  • Heavy Hitter - The Lancer model is optimized for Anti-capital duty, with forward mounted weapons meant to punish anything ahead of it.
  • Agile - The Lancer model is focused on moving with the fleet rather than speeding ahead while boasting an alarming agility to bring its weapons to bear on designated targets.
  • Shield Projection - The Aegisbound-class are meant to work as anchors in a fleet formation, able to aid vessels with shield projectors to bolster their shield systems in drawn out engagements.

  • Variables - While the ship benefits from the NVOId systems, in combat situations a direct strike to the engines will potentially damage the adjustable systems and either lock them into that system, or disable the unit.
  • Not Impossible - While the stealth polymer helps to avoid being found by passive scans or run of mill scanning systems, higher end scanner systems are able to find the ship with ease.
  • Built In - While the Ossis II frame provides many benefits, in field repairs are highly difficult due to the complexity of the internal framework.
  • Min-Maxed - The ship has heavy weapons emplacement and ion cannon systems meant to disable or take out a vessel at range, and is vulnerable to vessels closing the distance.
  • Limited Weapons - The ship is laden with anti-capital weapons for heavy tactical strikes, with a majority of its weapons fixed forward requiring the ship commander to plan ahead for potential starfighter encounters.
  • Power Signature - The ship lights up scanners with both active and redundant reactors to power the shield projection system alongside its heavy weapons emplacements. Once the vessel fires, hiding it again requires a miracle.

The Aegisbound-class Lancer Frigate is a weapons-dense anti-capital frigate platform engineered to linger within fleet formations rather than operate as a fast-striking independent combatant. Its mission profile centers on area denial, formation anchoring, and decisive ship-to-ship suppression, combining heavy direct-fire armament with advanced shield projection systems capable of reinforcing allied vessels operating in close proximity.

Drawing doctrinal lineage from the Vengeance-class Frigate, the Aegisbound refines the concept into a deliberate executioner as a ship that holds position, locks its target in place, and dismantles it through synchronized, overwhelming firepower. The frigate’s vertically integrated superstructure houses a fire-link command spine that allows its primary batteries to operate in tandem fire control, enabling staggered volleys, converging kill salvos, or fully unified salvos against hardened capital targets.

At the heart of its offensive doctrine are multiple fixed forward heavy mounts designed for tractor-aligned strikes. Utilizing Twin R.S. Eri Heavy Long-Range Tractor Beams and auxiliary tractor beam projectors that are mounted along the forward midship section, allowing the Aegisbound to seize enemy frigates and cruisers at varying engagement ranges. Once a target is stabilized, rotated, or pulled off vector, the ship brings its fixed heavy weapons to bear with surgical precision, eliminating the need for pursuit or high-G maneuvering.

The cruiser’s primary direct-fire armament consists of PGEM Standard Turbolaser Cannons mounted in four dual turrets, both ventral and dorsal mounted, providing wide-arc coverage for sustained anti-capital and anti-fighter suppression. PGEM Heavy Turbolaser Cannon Mk III's sit in twin fixed forward top mounts housed inside the arms of the ship, optimized for long-range penetration and armor breach salvos. PGEM Ferrous Mass Driver Cannons in twin fixed forward bottom mounts sit inside the same housing, delivering kinetic strikes capable of overwhelming and cracking reinforced hull plating. PGEM Standard Ionized Plasma Cannons in twin fixed forward middle mounts between the Ferrous Mass Drivers and Heavy Turbolaser Cannons, are used to disable shields, engines, and command systems.

All primary weapons are fire-link compatible, allowing the Aegisbound to shift instantly between independent turret operation, coordinated staggered fire, or unified forward battery discharge.

Ordnance support is provided by layered launcher banks distributed along the ventral and midship faces. M.I. Light Ordnance Launchers are used for point saturation and anti-fighter screening as needed. With M.I. Medium Ordnance Launchers being utilized for capital harassment and pursuit denial. Finally, PGEM Bomblet Generator Mk V systems are the final addition being capable of deploying dense kill clouds to deny space, punish clustered formations, or help finish immobilized targets.

Defensively, the Aegisbound remains a fleet shield anchor, projecting reinforced deflector coverage outward to protect adjacent vessels during sustained engagements. Rather than advancing aggressively, the ship advances the fleet itself by locking enemy vessels in place, shielding allies from return fire, and delivering methodical, long-range destruction until the opposing formation collapses.

In combat doctrine, the Aegisbound does not chase its prey.

It pins it, aligns it, and erases it.
