Jairdain remained where she was, just behind the line of students, allowing the lesson to unfold without her voice shaping it.
She felt the shift as sabers were drawn, the subtle tightening in the Force as intent sharpened into action. Vaapad always did that. Even before the first movement, it asked too much of people who did not yet realize what they were offering. She did not interfere. This was Jax's space, his responsibility, and his truth to lay bare.
Her awareness brushed lightly against Jayna as the younger girl stepped forward, a quiet reassurance rather than a correction. No words, no guidance pressed into her mind. Just presence.
I am here. Nothing more was needed.
When Connel moved closer, when Rath unclipped his saber without igniting it, when Fallon spoke her piece and chose her boundary, Jairdain did not judge any of it. Choice mattered. Restraint mattered. Knowing when something was not yours mattered just as much as mastering it.
She took a slow breath, grounding herself, hands loosely folded, posture relaxed but attentive. The Force flowed around her in steady currents, neither light nor dark imposed, only watchful.
Whatever happened next would be shaped by those who stepped forward.
And she would be here to witness it.
