Amongst the gathered crowd, a number of key faces all reached the King and Queen in rapid succession. The first of which was most welcome. "Cora," Amani offered a courteous bow of her own, "We're so glad you could join us. Alicio is in desperate need of familiar faces," She pulled his arm closer in a show of affection. More quietly, the princess reaffirmed her people's stance with Alderaan's. Amani nodded, "We'll be in touch." She gave Cora a knowing look as she pulled back. The two were already in league, and pieces were already starting to move. It was just a matter of finding the right window of opportunity.
Not fit to let stereotypes go unaffirmed, Lodd Grimmin appeared not a moment later, in search of a handout he claimed was legally binding. "Senator Grimmin. Is it still 'senator'?" The question might have seemed a slight, although it was a genuine mixup on Amani's part, "Your timing is impeccable. I was under the impression you had chosen not to continue your partnership with House Ulgo?" She glanced over to see the lead of a different house hot on Lodd's heels: Osiris of House Thul. Amani's brow furrowed. Reports claimed that House Thul was already a conspirator of the Sith. She wanted to believe otherwise, as Osiris had made himself out to be a man of honor at the coronation. One willing to overlook the centuries of antagonism between the two families for the sake of their shared home. Could he now be counted among their traitors?

She stressed the title, lest he insult the woman through ignorance, "Cora, this is Duke Osiris of House Thul. One of Alderaan's most stalwart patriots, if I do say so myself." And patriotism was the name of the game today.
It was around this time that Amani began to notice a stench intermingling within the Force that surrounded her. The taint of Darkness, bold and unhidden. A Sith presence was to be expected, although Amani thought they might at least be more subtle about it. Then again, why be subtle when they can project instead? Nothing had happened yet, however, and Amani would wait for a first move. She brushed her hand against her cheek, a signal to some unseen individuals to be on high alert, just in case. Throughout the parade, guards both uniformed and plainclothed became a little more vigilant, and the ever loyal
"Ah, Senator Raine. It is quite humbling to see that even the peaceful High Republic knows about decorum at such a public function, perhaps they could apply the same decorum to my people who are currently under occupation by your government without their consent."
"Do you suppose the two sides would be willing to make a trade?" Amani smirked wryly, "Cato Neimoidia for Alderaan?"
