STRENGTHS
Intelligent: Intended to become the cloak-and-dagger elite operators of Helix Solutions, no expense was spared on these droids' processing power. They are fully the equal of most organic elite infantry units, and able to exercise a level of creativity and individuality foreign to most other droids in pursuit of their objectives.
Skilled: While not heavily armed as such, the H4X are programmed with extensive knowledge of infiltration tactics, engineering, martial arts, acrobatics, squad infantry tactics, and a myriad other forms of information vital to their intended function. They are fast, shockingly agile, and dangerous. Each is a deadly opponent programmed with accumulated centuries' worth of combat knowledge, and should be treated as such.
Master Infiltrators: Retaining the old Commando Droid's ability to mimic voices, and adding an inbuilt Holographic Disguise Matrix to each and every unit, the H4X is capable of breaching the security of all but the most advanced AOs. Their holo-disguise systems allow them to imitate most humanoid forms of life, and they retain the old Commando Droid's ability to mimick the voices of those they hear.
WEAKNESSES
Ion Weaponry: H4X units are no more resistant to these than any other form of droid, and in fact their highly-sensitive and complex synthetic brains suffer more seriously from static discharges than most.
Rare and Expensive: Existing in fairly low numbers at any one time, Helix simply cannot afford the resources to make many of these droids, and each one deployed is a significant investment.
DESCRIPTION
It became clear to Helix early on that simple swarm tactics or brute force couldn't always win wars. As a result, the H4X Commando Droid was created, and quickly exceeded all expectations.
Possessing the finest machine learning abilities Helix could create, equipped with holographic infiltration capabilities, and armed with expensive saber-resistant vibroswords, the H4X soon became the backbone of Helix's more covert operations.
The droids were true one-size-fits-all covert agents, able to stick to the plan masterfully when things went well, and swiftly devise a new one when they didn't. Their duties ranged from surveillance to assassination to kidnapping and anything in between, and the droids performed excellently at these.
They even proved capable opponents to more inexperienced or less martially-inclined Jedi and Sith, using their phrik vibroswords and extensive programmed knowledge of bladesmanship to deadly effect. When discovered, they were more resilient than most Helix droids, able to shrug off blaster fire or saber strikes with roughly equal ease, and retaliate in kind.
Sadly, these droids were somewhat rare, reserved for important priority missions, and as such were a fairly uncommon sight on battlefields, seen in small teams or as single individuals leading squads of lesser droids. Their holo-disguises failed to hold up to physical inspection, and discovering the droid was often as simple as merely touching it. If they were incautious, the droids could find themselves in the scrapheap in short order.
