DESCRIPTION

Though possessing a robust and powerful ground division, the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant has suffered from a lack of heavy armored fighting vehicles, having been forced to rely on Gladius-class Repulsortanks and PGEM Fast Response Tank to fulfill this role. While certainly not bad vehicles in their own right, the Imperial Remnant has nonetheless made the decision to develop a new type of armored fighting vehicle in conjunction with the N&Z Umbrella Corporation: the GAV TX-229 "Stormer" Main Battle Tank.

Little more than a modified TX-225 GAVw "Occupier" Combat Assault Tank, the TX-229 nonetheless possesses a number of changes and modifications that enables it to more effectively function as an armored fighting vehicle. The most crucial of these was the installation of an unmanned turret housing an ArMek MB20 Heavy Blaster Cannon, Dymek Mk3 Repeating Blaster and an NZ RTL1 Launcher. Couple with this change was the installation of various defensive features, such as ADL-130 Active Defense Launchers, Smoke Grenade Launchers and an NZ Thanatos ECM/A Suite.

Though perhaps less heavily armed than contemporary examples, the durability and survivability of the TX-229 are second to none, and even if the vehicle itself becomes disabled, it maintains a high likelihood of keeping the crew inside of it alive, due to their being situated far within the hull of the tank itself. Beyond this, the TX-229 is a versatile and potent armored fighting vehicle, one with a good combination of firepower, defenses and maneuverability.
