The Sunset Strill
In spite of the Agents of Chaos’s victories abroad in their protracted war against the Confederacy of Independent Systems, back home, the financial crisis has continued unabated, leading indirectly to the rapid proliferation of gangs, cartels, and various criminal organizations within the urban spheres of the Scintilla. Many of these gangs have cropped up spontaneously, seizing control of territory and extorting street tax from the inhabitants, with extreme consequences if their exacting payments are not met. Clashing with each other on a near-daily basis, the gangs wage a brutal turf war via fly-by shootings, assassinations, raids, and even large shootouts along chokepoints and border areas, causing billions of credits in collateral damage in the process and more significantly, exacting a harsh toll in lives, both innocent and guilty. In addition, many of the gangs are running large drug rings, distributing a particularly heinous formula of spice across the underworld that is just as dangerous as it is addictive. Above it all, there is an insidious presence looming over the many small, territorial gangs that seek to impose their dominion within the urban spheres, specifically pertaining to a minor, yet nonetheless intragalactic crime syndicate led by none other than Griska the Hutt.

It is believed that Griska and his gang is behind the proliferation of gang activity within the Scintilla, as many gangs pay tribute to him, both openly and behind closed doors. However, the Agents of Chaos have been unable to locate him, as his headquarters are believed to be based outside of the Scintilla.

Seeking to quell the gangs raging within the Scintilla, Discordia has authorized the creation of a dedicated anti-gang task force, composed of units from the Wild Hunt, in order to bolster the long-overtaxed Scintilla Defense Force. This initiative, titled Operation Emerald Star, is largely intended to shock the gangs in an awe-inspiring display of military force. In the same stroke, a hand-picked unit of Silencer, Wild Hunt, and mercenary operatives, designated “Solar Wind”, has been assembled to strike for the head of the proverbial snake.

On the opening day of Operation Emerald Star, the Solar Wind is set to be deployed to assault a compound of the Sunset Strill, a Mandalorian criminal cartel with close ties to Griska the Hutt. According to intelligence reports, there is information within the compound that is likely to point to the location of Griska’s headquarters. More significantly, this information will help the Agents of Chaos uncover Griska’s ultimate motives in sowing a gang war within the Scintilla.

As implied in the Sunset Strill being a Mandalorian organization, resistance will be extremely heavy as the unit will in all likelihood be compelled to engage multiple heavily-armored Mandalorian mercenary gangsters, although the cartel is also known to employ many non-Mandalorian elements. The compound is located in the Undercity Area of Andra II, a massive ecumenopolis sphere that is considered to be a major flashpoint of the ongoing gang wars within the Scintilla. While the area has a very minimal civilian presence due to a partial evacuation of the area that was conducted overnight, it is of extreme importance to maintain awareness of the potential for their presence and to ensure that they come to no harm in the event that they are found within the area of operation.

Hours upon hours of training exercises, briefings, and intelligence analysis had led to this.

The epidemic of criminal gangs within the Scintilla, hit quite close to home for Ivixa. While she had been afforded the opportunity to move her family out of the slums, and therefore away from the danger presented by the criminal elements in the Scintilla, most others of her species were still quite vulnerable to their predations. She had seen firsthand the effects of the modified variant of spice the gangs were funneling into the impoverished Asa’nyx communities of the Scintilla. From what she had heard, it was a cheap and unrefined variant of the drug. Its extremely addictive qualities were matched by the danger it presented to the user, causing them a number of deleterious health effects that with prolonged usage, left the victim appearing as if they were a walking husk. Yet more, the gangs were practicing their own brutal form of debt-induced slavery, and it went without saying that the disproportionately impoverished Asa’nyx were also vulnerable to falling under it. They went from house to house, extorting a ludicrously high street tax from the inhabitants who were already destitute as it was, forcing them to pay or else be enslaved to the gang.

Now, after slaving away for so long under the heels of the gangs, there would finally be justice.

As the Sandhawk-Class dropship cut through the fog of the morning air as it flew down towards Andra II’s undercity, Ivixa ran through a final check of her equipment and weapons. Once everything checked out, Ivixa took out her hand cannon and tapped a few buttons on her datascreen, pulling up a map of the area for her to reference upon reaching the Undercity. All the while, the team’s handler was reiterating the important details of the operation, including the fact that in all likelihood, they would meet heavy resistance in the form of beskar’gam-fitted Mandalorian gangsters.

While Ivixa still had a few doubts regarding her selection to Solar Wind, she was nonetheless eager to take the fight to the gangsters and to exact vengeance for the social destruction they had wrought upon the Asa’nyx communities. In her short career as a Wild Huntress, Ivixa had already fought and killed more than a few terrifying enemies, including a massive Star Dragon. However, there would be none that she would be more happy to kill than gangsters, especially those who were terrorizing her people with such heinous abandon.

Only a few moments after her weapon’s check, Ivixa’s sensors pinged three contacts, and when she glanced up and out of the view ports, her eyes registered three Mandalorians on jetpacks. Just as Ivixa yelled out to the pilot to take evasive maneuvers, a trio of homing missiles were loosed from their packs, set on a course for the dropship...

Spending so much time off world had meant that Nighthaunter was unaware of all of the turmoil that had been happening within the Scintilla. Typically he felt that domestic issues should be left to the members of the coins, and that order should be left to the members of the Scintilla Defense Force. However, it was clear for all to see that things had got out of hand in the Under City and they needed to be brought under control. Hence why the administration had felt it necessary to call in those of a more violent persuasion. The situation was out of control and these gangs had to be put down with extreme force. Discordia had tasked Nighthaunter with the leading the operation known as "Solar Wind". He and Discordia had handpicked the team that he was about to lead deep into gang territory. He looked at the individuals around him in the dropship all checking their gear before they arrived at the drop site. He could see that they were all ready.

Personally he agreed with the action that Discordia was taking against these gangs, at least in principle. When she had told him the plan, he had agreed but he had made the suggestion that the they should send in individual agents to terrorize the gangs, kill, and torture their members until they were so scared that they wouldn't want to operate within the Under City anymore. Discordia had disagreed and instead thought that a show of military strength would be the best option, which his team was the spear tip for.

He shook himself away from his thoughts and decided to do one last equipment check. He flicked his wrists unsheathing his Silent Blades, listening to the satisfying sound as they slid out of his gauntlets. He then pulled the Sniper Rifle off of his back and did one last check that everything was working. He put the rifle on his back before maneuvering himself to the front of the drop ship near the pilot. He was about to address the team as they were finishing their equipment checks just Ivixa Nera'kas Ivixa Nera'kas yelled for the pilot to take evasive maneuvers. As he looked out the front view port he saw three Mandalorians open fire with homing missiles towards the dropship.

Why couldn't anything just go according to plan?

The ex-Jensaarai eyed the fellow occupants of the dropship. It was a small but diverse team, more so than any he had worked with since arriving at Scintilla. The bulk being made up of the elite of the Agent's armed operatives, the Silencers and the Wild Hunt, Solar Wind was a curious combination of shock commandos and zealot assassins. And for his first time, Conn would be working under the command of a Silencer, a man known only as Nighthaunter.

His gear checked and ready, the Hunter quieted his mind, preparing it too, so that when boots hit the ground, his tenuous connection to the Force could be maintained. His gaze lifted to Ivixa, the Asa'nyx sniper whom he had recently befriended. They were... something, though Conn didn't worry about defining it, he simply enjoyed whatever it was they had together. Regardless, their personal relationship was dutifully sidelined, for above all things, they were professionals. The swordsman did know one thing. Ivixa had a personal vendetta against anyone associated with the proliferation of drugs in the slums occupied by Asa'nyx, and at one time her own family. There was no doubt her custom sniper rifle would find its mark again and again, once they touched down.

Nighthaunter's movemnt towards the front of the ship snared Conn's attention, the Silener's cryptic armor impressive even without the shadows he most surely found more to his liking. Then, Ivixa called out the warning. Incoming missiles. Conn instinctively leaped up and lurched forward, straining to see the threatening projectiles. He grasped the ebb of the Force and attempted to fling a barrier outside the drop ship. Whether he was far enough forward for the Force shield to clear the craft, or if it was even strong enough to absorb or diminish the impact of the missiles should the pilot fail to evade them, Conn couldn't guess. It all happened so suddenly.

Sasmay was silent beneath the helmet, watching Ivixa with a grin. There was a trip Sasmay was wanting to make, something she was wanting to do for a while now. The LMG was set barrel down, her hands resting against the butt of the weapon as she watched the rest of them do a weapons check. She had caught herself up on the details, something that seemed rampant wherever a starport was finally coming to the Scintilla. Something that reminded her of an old life. Her eyes shut at a memory behind the helmet.

Some Time Ago

*"Get up Cull, otherwise Sassy over here is gonna have to finish what you started!" The old captain hollered, the cigar billowing as the young man wiped his lip of blood while a Rodian squared off in another corner, duracrete blocks forming a makeshift ring in the cargo bay's break area. Cull spat at the Duros captain, glancing at Sasmay while she stood in the sideline, shackled with Magnacuffs to make sure she couldn't ruin the show.

The self proclaimed mandalorian slowly stood, taking his fighting stance again.

"Atta' boy. See, he don't want you to get hurt Sassy." The duros crooned to her, smile forming as he watch the pair begin to fight for their lives once more. "If he would just quit playing with 'em though."*

Her thoughts flickered back to the real as Ivixa warned of incoming fire, others taking evasive measures that they could. Sasmay grabbed the body of the lmg, other hand shooting up to grab a handhold in the mean time.

The Aspect of Death had returned to the Scintilla.

It had been months since she'd disappeared, sent off on a mission beyond the galaxy's rim. No one was to know of the mission's specifics, though word had gone out that she was away due to an assignment. While the mission itself had gone as expected, the near radio silence she'd received from Discordia during it had been… Unnerving. Madalena wasn't sure what to make of it.

And she was less sure what to make of the situation on the Scintilla that she had just stepped into. Before she'd left, she knew things were starting up, but she'd had the confidence that they would be handled. Not only had they become worse, it seemed there was an all out war within one of the spheres now, and the written briefing she'd received about it had held precious little detail.

Glowing green eyes darted to the horizon, where she could recognize from the distance jetpacks, and… Who the heck was sending off missiles inside the sphere?! Did they want another HOPE situation?!

It didn't matter that she hadn't even been home yet. It didn't matter that she'd only docked a handful of minutes ago. She was pissed.

Hitting her comlink, she sent out pings to all those in the Scintilla that she knew, and those in the Wild Hunt. Perhaps someone could fill her in on what Discordia had decided not to tell her.

And in the meantime…

She marched.

It would only take a few minutes to get to what appeared to be a less than beautiful part of the place.

Jai growled as he thought about what was happening here. The Mandalorians he knew wouldn't have done something like this. These dar'manda... they'd pay. He looked at the others, hoping him being there wouldn't be an issue as he prepped his gear. He jus hoped the others knew how important stopping these people was to him, even if he wasn't saying anything. He didn't want to get kicked off this mission for being too... attached to this missions. Jai finally spoke up though, as the dropship went into evasive maneuvers.

"Gah! Osik!" He was sent flying into the opposite side of the ship, grumbling a as he quickly held tight to the ship. He then got the ping, turning on his comm. "Good to have you back Madalena." He then looked over to the others in the ship, he sighing a little as he pulled his pistol/dagger. "Can't be easy can it?"

Ivixa could only watch in helpless apprehension as the three homing missiles rapidly closed in on the dropship. The craft lurched as the pilot pulled into a hard break turn, but the maneuver came far too late, as the projectiles were traveling too quickly for the pilot to evade them in time. And so, Ivixa braced herself for the seemingly inevitable impact, gripping the crash webbing tight as she closed her eyes in anticipation of what could have very well been her final moments.

And yet, the impact never came.

It was only then that she noticed Conn Dagorian, the darkly mysterious swordsman she had met only a few months before now, visibly straining. She looked outside the viewport and saw only smoke dissipating along a nigh-invisible barrier. However, it wasn’t the dropship’s shields, as Ivixa had seen enough shielding devices and energy fields to know what they looked like. It was something else entirely, and in spite of her relative lack of knowledge pertaining to the Force, she quickly made the connection between the barrier’s appearance and Conn’s exertions.

The swordsman was the mysterious warrior of the Force that she had suspected him of being on the day she had first met him in the basketball court on the Happy Tree Friends station. Ivixa wasn’t necessarily surprised, but she was feeling a strong sense of awe and gratefulness at the fact that Conn might have just saved her life. Regardless, there was little time for her to dwell on that now, especially since the three Mandalorians outside of the dropship would doubtlessly be preparing to make their next move, after seeing that their missiles had failed to bring down the dropship.

“I’m gonna bring it into a hover over here!” The pilot called out over comms. “It’s too hot to touch the ship down, so you’ll have to jump or fast-rope down to the ground. Good hunting, Solar Wind.”

“Copy that, Raptor Six.” Ivixa answered the pilot, just as Madalena’s ping registered in her comms. The pilot quickly brought the dropship into hover, and Ivixa readied herself to jump, intending to utilize her armor’s integrated repulsor pack to slow her descent. “Wait, she’s here? The Aspect of Death? We should rendezvous with her before heading for the compound!”

“Alright! Jump!” The pilot called out as the rope came out and the hatch doors opened. Without waiting for a response, Ivixa jumped out of the dropship, her repulsor pack activating to slow her descent before her feet hit the ground. Then, she took out her pistol and scanned the area in order to cover her squadmates as they came down to the surface, knowing that at any moment, they could come under fire...

Nighthaunter finally thought that all those years of living dangerously had caught up to him when he saw the homing missiles flying towards the dropship. What irritated him more in that moment is that he wasn't about to die because he wasn't skilled enough or prepared enough. It was that he was about to die and he had absolutely no control over it. He closed his eyes and gripped the side of the dropship tightly and braced for impact. However just when he thought the impact would have come nothing happened. He turned around to see Conn Dagorian in deep concentration. 'Ah the perks of bringing a force user with you.' He thought to himself. He looked around at the rest of the team other than Conn Dagorian and could see the looks of relief on every single one of their faces. Nighthaunter let out a sigh of relief as he heard the pilot tell them that he was going to bring them about and hover over the drop site, as it was way to hot with hostiles to land. He looked over and saw the flap drop and ropes drop allowing them the scale down to the service.

He looked over at Ivixia and Jai wondering if he had heard them both correctly. Madalena? She had been off world for what seemed like months now, and now she was coming back to this mess? Oh she was not going to be happy. While he was glad she was back the last thing he needed was the sithling to ruin the carefully devised plan he had in his head. The Reaper preferred to be a lot more subtle in his methods, however just as brutal if not more so. Madalena was much like the Wild Hunt. A forward charge and straight up engagement with the enemy. He shook his head he needed to focus on the task at hand, and that task was making sure everyone got to the surface alive.

"Right everyone off and down to the surface, secure and form a perimeter around the drop site! Engage hostiles with extreme prejudice!" He yelled in a gruff voice over the sound of the engines as he waved everyone off of the dropship making sure he was the last person on the ship. Once everyone had dropped down to the surface he then jumped down himself.

Corellian Run, Corellian Trade Spine, Sanctuary Pipeline, Those were some of the main routes he took to get to Scintilla. He needed to take an early detour however, mid way through the Sanctuary Pipeline he realized there was this this large geopolitical blob in the way called the Eternal Empire. He didn't know what that was, but it sounds like someone aligned with the AoC wouldn't be welcomed.

Also the simple Tusken didn't fully understand the need for hyperspace lanes, but he know that just cause he doesn't understand something doesn't mean it's not real. So even though he wasn't sure why he couldn't just go straight from Tatooine to Scintilla he took the advice he got and traveled the Hyperspace routes.

A'Runda had actually arrived on the massive collection of space habitats within the last 24 hours. He just didn't bother to tell anybody since by the time he arrived he was tired from his long space trip from the other side of the galaxy. A'Runda was just getting a little of being on Tatooine and wanted to see how others were doing in the AoC. He didn't even know that a conflict was brewing since the night before he parked his old rust bucket of a ship at the undercity and decided crash for the night in some cheap, run down hotel room before making his way to the more administrative parts of Scintilla.

Funny enough when the overnight evacuation order went out for civilians he wasn't woken up by anyone and slept right threw it. That is until he heard the loud noise of some explosions going off nearby. Instantly waking him from his slumber he wasn't sure what could've caused it or why, but knew that it couldn't be good. Getting his things ready he in a hurry he left his run down hotel room to see what was going on.

Ripley grinned as she watched Ivixa jump from the ship. While falling through the sky might be a fearful for some, the adrenaline junkie within made her ready for this. Her brother ran through her mind, causing her smile to quickly fade. She wondered what he would think of his baby sister hanging out with the terrorist. She had told him before she left that she was simply going on a vacation- that she felt a little trapped and cooped up. It wasn't a total lie- Ripley had been losing her mind trying to live a normal life. It felt as though she put on a facade everyday, no one really seeing her true self. She had stayed in contact with the Agents after the the previous work she had done for them, and when she heard they needed a pro-slicer to help bring a group of criminals down, she couldn't resist the temptation of an adeventure.

As the mysterious man barked his orders, Ripley moved her feet forward to comply. Her hands dropped to her sides to make sure her equipment was secure, before grabbing the rope and beginning to scale. Her soft palms seemed to instantly ache from gripping the rough texture, but she managed to make her way half way down, before leaping and making a rolling landing on the ground. She stood up straight, smirking. It may have been a while since she and her master had been able to train, but she was showing no signs of rust.

Her eyes darted, searching for signs of danger. Almost intuitively, she reached down and grabbed her pistol from the holster, just as she felt the disturbance in the force before she heard the whiz in her ears. The shot missed her, but barely. She ran the short distance to her team, aligning her own back to theirs, waiting for direction.

She had not yet arrived by the time other Agents joined her, but she was near enough. It was Ivixa Nera'kas Ivixa Nera'kas first, followed by @Ripley Khun. From a short distance, while she couldn't sense him, she knew A'Runda A'Runda , her apprentice, had decided it was a great day to return too. Others, such as @Jai'gallar Gred, were nearby too, and she was certain Conn Dagorian and Nighthaunter Nighthaunter weren't too far either by the feint reading she had time to do.

She nodded approvingly.

"Anyone wanna tell me what this is all about?" she asked, never ceasing her march. The others would catch up soon enough. They were all trained to.

But perhaps, she should've stopped.

The soft click was heard too late; the minefield that Madalena had stepped on went off, and time seemed to stand still. She knew she was moving, she knew things were being done, but reality might have paused for all that happened in the moment.

Her glowing green eyes in a snap became white, and a large portal appeared between her and the mine. It wasn't fast enough to completely protect her; most of the blast had been swallowed up by the hole, and Madalena thought she saw someone coming from the compound being sucked in as well before it closed.

But enough had still given the energy required to send her flying back.

Conn's impetuous attempt to thwart the Mandalorian missiles paid off, but his single-minded effort left him unanchored. As the pilot veered, Conn was slammed against the side of the cabin. He quickly righted himself as Nighthaunter gave the command to jump. Conn made for the drop out point where the others of the squad were slipping down the descent ropes. Conn leaped for one and slid down it, using the heavy cord more as a guide than a means to control his drop. Instead, ten meters form the ground, the ex-Jensaari let go, employing the Force to decelerate enough not to snap his legs when he landed.

As his boots thudded to the ground, the rifle was already in his hands. Ivixa had already lighted on the ground, much more gracefully with her repulsor pack, the pint-sized, multi-hued Huntress scanning for threats. Conn moved back to back with his friend. The light saber-armed slicer Ripley, whom he had yet to really meet, had landed just before him, her fluid tumble leaving her in a ready crouch, her pistol also trained on the perimeter. She flinched only slightly as a shot whizzed by her. She join up, her back to theirs as well. Conn didn't see Jai, or Sasmay but was sure they had made it down too.

Nighthaunter was the last to drop, though Conn didn't hear the Silencer land, the man was just there when Conn turned to find him. In the frantic action of the missile attack and deployment, Conn had missed the comm from the Aspect of Death. Her presence was a mystery until hesaw Madalena stalking towards the compound, clad in her crimson Haywire armor and armed only with that wicked saberstaff.

the Aspect didn't pause to meet the squad, but continued on. Conn moved with others to meet up with her, but before they could form up on her six, there was an explosion. Or rather, half an explosion. The mine, Conn discerned, had triggered just a fraction of a moment before Madalena rent open the portal to swallow the conflagration. It happened so fast, only after the truncated explosion and the Aspect being flung backwards could he piece together the event.

In a crouch, Conn raced to Madalena, taking a knee and raising his rifle to cover her as she recovered.

The team came under fire just as the slicer landed on the ground, along with Conn and a few others. As she was scanning the area, a bolt whizzed past her, but Ivixa immediately knew where it was coming from as her armor’s surface-integrated photoreceptors registered the location of the shooter in her sensor reader. Without sparing a moment of hesitation, Ivixa turned and squeezed off a pair of APFSDS rounds from her hand cannon at the shooter, striking the unsuspecting Mandalorian gangster in the chest and head respectively. As if to visually confirm the kill, the Mandalorian’s body fell from the window and landed with a surprisingly dense thud on the street.

“We’re going for the compound of the Sunset Strill! Finally putting the gangs down for good, Aspect!” Ivixa said to Madalena, finishing just as the mine exploded dangerously close to the Aspect. From there, the fight began in earnest, as suddenly more than a few dozen Mandalorian warrior-gangsters made their presence known with a torrent of blaster, disruptor, and kinetic fire. Nevertheless, Ivixa didn’t hesitate to answer their challenge with a trio of shots from her hand cannon, seeking to cover Conn as he made a run towards Madalena. The armor-piercing rounds connected with a single, particularly well-armored Mandalorian wielding a large blaster cannon, the first striking him directly in the chest and causing him to stumble. The last two finished the kill, just as her scanners registered three Mandalorians on jetpacks, presumably the same ones who had fired the homing missiles at the dropship earlier, flying overhead and shooting down into the formation of Solar Wind operatives who had landed only moments before.

Activating her shield just in time, a disruptor bolt struck the projected barrier with a thump, but the Force Avenger was by no means a purely defensive system. Almost instantaneously, the energy from the overtuned disruptor bolt was converted into a massively powerful electrical charge which was promptly kicked back towards the flying Mandalorian in a frightening display of lightning fury that fried the poor man in his armor, causing his jetpack to overload as it propelled his body into a nearby building before erupting in a fiery explosion upon impact. The other two jetpack-wielding Mandalorians met similar fates, but their well-cooked bodies instead hit the ground with a dull, somewhat anticlimactic thud that ultimately prevented them from going out in a fiery blaze of glory as all Mandalorians were wont to do.

Nevertheless, out they went.

The smell of well-cooked Mandalorian gangster in the crisp morning air was like an intoxicating drug to Ivixa’s gangster-hating sensibilities, which only made the diminutive sniper hungry for more blood in revenge for the despair the thugs had wrought on her people. After firing the last round in her hand cannon’s clip into the unprotected chest of one of the many non-Mandalorian gangsters who were closing in on the area, Ivixa holstered her hand cannon and took out her sniper rifle, preparing to deliver vengeful justice from afar against the Mandalorians and their felonious underlings...

Sasmay watched them all leave, the pilot attempting to return to base before Sasmay banged on the wall to catch their attention.

"Skirt the place and I'll drop in." She hollered, an abundance of gleeful anticipation for the up coming fight.

"You're nuts, you know that right!?" The anxious call came back from the cockpit as Madalena Antares Madalena Antares signal came up in her helmet. There came and affirmative ping from Sasmay to the other Aspect, the Dream beginning to slip into a different mindset as the engines roared briefly towards a different street and was greeted with heavy fire. She stood, moving with the dropship did its best to avoid what it could.

Time slowed as she focused on a building's rooftop, the fine hairs on the back of her neck standing as she lurched forward towards the open door. Every muscle in her body drew tight, hangs gripping the LMG with an unhealthy amount of respect. The comm line took forever to open it felt like, her words feeling slow.

"KUH-LEE-EARE! ARR-TEE-BEE!" The words felt sluggish as a glance to the side showed her opposition attempting to deal with those that had set down before her. Her gaze shifted back to the roof, the path clear as she rolled into the tumble before coming to a skidding stop. Time slowly wound back to real time as the sound of a jet pack filled her helmet sensors.

A helmet emerged from the edge of her vision, LMG coming up the same time as shoulders passed the lip of the building. Rapid fire blast's pinged without damaging the person and alerted the Dream to a mandalorian in beskar. Time began to catch up with her senses as her feet planted against the roof and began propelling her backwards. The LMG was pulled to one side as her right hand went for a hand cannon, hands in front of her aiming her down before she rolled and dropped the heavy weapon.

A snap beside her warned her of a missed shot as the hand cannon snapped from the holster and her helmet sensors scrambled to help her aim. The shot snapped from her hand cannon as another snap beside her warned her of quickly approaching fire. The disruptor shot caught the mando, the sharp buzz of short circuiting equipment making a fireworks show as the jet pack faltered and the body fell to the ground below.

"Ten-four Dream, r-t-b." The pilot snapped back as she rolled and picked herself up. The engines flared as the dropship pulled off and away from the area. She heard feet scrambling below, hand cannon still in one hand as the other was leaned on before catching the LMG and slipping it onto the back latches. The two seconds it took to find the latches reminded her the suit had been updated, helmet and several other systems being upgraded and added.

She shook her head, wanting a reminder to train in the new armor soon. A few tentative steps had her peering over the rooftop and looking below to see figures scurrying about. Large amounts of fire began to come down on the landing party as she pulled back and shrugged. The hand cannon was holstered, the LMG pulled out once again before the bipod was deployed and she found herself edging towards the roof corner.

With the attention down the street, no one noticed the LMG pointing in their direction from her roof before the blaster fire began in earnest on the entrenched position. The unarmored ones catching the worst of it as the trigger was held for a trio of shots before aiming to the next target.

Jai looked at the ramp as he said something to his Strill, Milaky in that weird language that he used to give them orders. The Mando smile under his helmet as the creature climbed on his back, and jumped without a rope, repulors, or a jet pack. The man just smiled as the Strill opened up its legs, letting it's skin folds between them slow both it and its master down to the ground. Jai then quickly ran up to Ivixa, Conn, and Madalena, while keeping his eye on Sasmay. He drew both Trayc'kal as he looked. both happy to see the deWinter, and... BANG! The mine went off, and the "Mandalorians" came calling with blasters and disruptors. The mine triggered him a little though, as flashes of Concord Dawn seemed to appear in him mind before he got up.

"You blasted dar'manda! (Not Mandalorian, not a good thing to be called.)" He couldn't freeze now, but it was clear he wasn't doing good at that moment. He quickly used his cloak to block a shot before firing his weapons at one of the closer gangsters. He said something to Milaky, which sent the Strill into attack mode, as he went after someone with no armor. Jai meanwhile jumped one of the armored gangsters, using his Trayc'kal to stab into the armorweave between the plates. He looked back, smelling the scent that Ivixa's attack had cause. He grabbed his head a little, looking back. "Osik...."

Nighthaunter landed silently behind his squad, as always the Silencer was light on his feet. Immediately his emerald eyes scanned the situation through the HUD that was built into his cowl. His team had immediately engaged the enemy and there was blaster fire flying past his head. He saw Ivixia advancing forward to join up with Madalena, just as there was a massive explosion in front of them as she hit a minefield. The sound of the explosion rocked his surroundings like an earthquake. As the dust settled he looked to see that Madalena had been sent flying backwards by the explosion, luckily she looked to be okay. Nighthaunter looked at the buildings that scaled either side of the street that he and his team had landed on. He noticed that there was an increased rate of fire coming from these buildings and if they weren't cleared out the team was going to be pinned down. He immediately ran towards the 3 story building on the right hand side of the street and began to scale it. He scaled it all the way to the second floor window, he crashed through the window not making much of an attempt to be subtle. With all the noise taking place down in the street below they were unlikely to hear a window smash. The room he was in was dark, bare and only dimly lit by a single light. He walked towards the door in front of him silently and looked out through the crack to see that the hallway was empty. However most importantly it was similarly lit. He smiled to himself, this was his ideal environment to go to work. He stepped out of the room and into the hallway, he could hear heavy footsteps above him.

'Most likely the Mandalorian's in their Beskar armour.' He thought to himself. He walked 50 metres down the hallway, as he walked he could see the people of the Under City that lived in the building cowering there rooms from the combat outside. A couple of them peered out of their rooms in wide eyed astonishment at the Silencer. One woman came out of her room before he got to the stair well and got on her knees in front of him. Her hands were clasped in some sort of prayer, she then looked up at him.

"Save us Angel of Discordia."
She muttered quietly looking back down at the ground. As if she was unable to look upon a divine messenger of the Lady of Eve.

He looked down at her, "I am no angel, but your faith in Discordia is rightly placed." He said quietly, "Go inside lock the door and stay in your room, this will all be over soon." Without waiting for her to respond he simply stepped passed her and walked towards the stairwell. Arriving at the stairwell he immediately ran up the stairs to the third floor. He put his ear to the wall bordering the hallway and the stairwell on the third floor and listened. There seemed to be around 10 hostiles in the hall and respective rooms that looked down onto the street below. He took a deep breath, 'Time to make a statement' he thought to himself, then just as one of the Mandalorians was coming past the door Nighthaunter kicked it down onto him with brutal force. Before the Mandalorian could get out from underneath the door Nighthaunter leaped on top of him Silent Blades unsheathed and rammed it through the visor of his helmet. the blade pierced the visor and went straight through the Mandalorian's eye, blood squirted all over Nighthaunters gloved hand. The Mandalorian screamed in pain, before the warrior could react Nighthaunter sliced his jugular, blood splattering across the walls. He then heard Mandalorians in the rooms on the left hand side of the hallway begin to move obviously alerted to the screams of their comrade.

Nighthaunter immediately rushed towards the entrance to the room that was closest to him, knowing that he would have to close the distance if they had blasters. He moved along the wall on the right hand side. As he was running he let the blades slip out of the gauntlets and into his hands so he was able to use them as daggers. Just as he got towards the entrance of the first door he saw the barrel of a gun pointing out of the entrance. He immediately sliced down with his dagger taking the gun barrel clean off. Nighthaunter in a flash was in front of the Mandalorian like an immense shadow. The Mando was not one to be intimidated and immediately swung the butt of his useless blaster at Nighthaunter's head. Nighthaunter immediately ducked and sliced his dagger in the gap between the beskar chest plate and his greaves. Blood immediately began flowing onto the floor, the Mando screamed and tackled Nighthaunter onto the floor.

Nighthaunter wasn't expecting this and landed on his back, with the Mandalorian on top of him. He immediately wrapped his legs around the back of the Mando's head and trapped it against his hips in a triangle choke. He then took one of his daggers and immediately pushed the blade straight through his neck. The death was quick and the Mando quickly stopped struggling. Nighthaunter didn't rest on his laurels and got out form underneath the Mandalorian's body and flipped onto his feet. He looked in the doorway of the room the Mandalorian warrior had come from and saw one at the window beginning to point his rifle in his direction. Without thinking Nighthaunter threw one his silent blades at the Mandalorian. It lodged in his throat, the Mandalorian immediately grabbed at his throat reflexively rather than firing his weapon. Nighthaunter then ran forward knowing he needed to dispose of this Mandalorian as soon as possible before he could fire. Before he could do that Nighthaunter was on him, as Nighthaunter removed the dagger from the Mandalorian's throat, he front kicked him in the chest. Which then sent him flying out of the window and onto the street below.

The firefight that subsequently erupted through the streets brought a grin to Ripley's face. This was the stuff she was made for. She watched as Ivixa Nera'kas Ivixa Nera'kas singlehandedly annihilated an onslaught of Mandos, and she had to say, she was impressed. The sound of an explosion garnered her attention and her eyes shot over, seeing her 'ole buddy Madalena Antares Madalena Antares taking the brunt of it. She remembered the woman from when she had been hired before, but she was almost unrecognizable from the scars that decorated her face. She wanted to make sure she was okay, but another man took off before she could move.

The man who had taken charge aboard the ship began climbing the walls, and Ripley felt absolutely useless from this distance with her pistol. She reholestered it once more and withdrew her lightsaber instead, pressing the switch to activate it. The humming that emanated from the weapon was almost comforting. She broke out into a sprint, racing towards the building. Shots flew at her, but Ripley had always been particularly blessed in the way of precognition, and all were avoided, either by zig-zagging in the knick of time, or by bringing her lightsaber to the right angle to deflect.

She made her way to the doorway in seconds, but each stride felt like millenia. Her foot flew up, kicking open the barrier, as she took a deep breathe. No backing out now. Two Mandolorians greeted her arrival with a slew of rounds, but her weapon was at the ready, redirecting each shot as they came. She walked forward and they walked back, a messy tango. Letting the force guide her hands, her eyes darted around, assessing the area. They were in a hallway, stairs behind the mandolorians and doors lining either side. She returned her attention to the enemy, just as a shot left one of their weapons. She maneuvered her blade, titling it just slightly, and the projectile ricocheted back, sending the Mando flying into the stairs. He wasn't dead- but he wasn't moving anytime soon. She made the connection they must have been packing heavy, given the damage their armor took and the impact it made on her saber. The young Padawan turned her attention back to the other, still diverting the fire from his weapon. Within a minute, he too was on the ground, suffering the same fate as his accomplice. She let her arm weilding her saber fall to her side, reaching out through the force, attempting to sense any other life. The immediate area seemed clear, but she kicked open every door, making sure. Finally, she arrived at the base of the stairs, where the two Mandolorians had landed. She sheathed her lightsaber when she noticed one of them struggling, crawling back to his hand cannon.

"Nuh-uh." She stated, walking over to where the gun had fallen. She picked it up and aimed it at the body, letting go two shots that he met with a grunt, before falling limp. She quickly took care of the other and acended the stairs, coming to another door lined corridor.

It didn’t take long for Ivixa to find her first target as she swept her scope across the streets. After lowering herself down to her knees, the diminutive sniper aligned her crosshairs over the T-visored head of a Mandalorian warrior-gangster, held her breath, then fired a single kinetic energy penetration round at the target. Just as she pulled the bolt to push a new round into the chamber, the bullet found its mark, ripping through beskar to blast through the Mandalorian’s brain in a burst of red mist. It was a cold and precise kill, but Ivixa didn’t wait for the man’s corpse to hit the ground before taking aim at another target. This time, she didn’t bother to aim for the head, as the gangster was not Mandalorian, and as such, was only wearing blast armor. Firing once more, her shot punched through the gangster’s chest in an even more spectacular explosion of viscera, throwing his body to the ground from the force of the impact.

However, it was only then that she noticed many of the Mandalorians pulling back from the area in what appeared to be a tactical retreat, presumably to head back towards the compound. All the while, more non-Mandalorian gangsters poured forth from the streets to take their place, wielding cheap blasters and slugthrowers as they sought to engage the small team of operatives. Feeling somewhat annoyed by their cowardly flight, Ivixa went out of her way to target the retreating Mandalorians, giving one a parting shot to their armored head and another a bullet to an unprotected thigh. Regardless, it wasn’t long until all that were left were the non-Mandalorian gangsters, who were quickly growing in numbers as the engagement went on.

After finishing off the dying Mandalorian with a final shot to the crotch, Ivixa threw herself back into cover behind a nearby building and loaded a fresh magazine of kinetic energy penetrator rounds into her rifle. However, it was only then that she registered them on her sensor readers.

A pair of large multi-legged walkers, which were closing in on the team from opposite directions.

Due primarily to her large, sensitive ears, Ivixa heard it coming before everywhere else. Moving quickly towards a nearby building, Ivixa holstered her rifle on her back and loaded her hand cannon with a tibanna gas canister. Just as she pushed through the door, a gangster’s blaster bolts tagged her shields, which responded in kind with a pair of reactive electrical discharges that fried the man to a smoking crisp.

“Walkers incoming, fast! Everyone get inside!” Ivixa shouted over comms, as she climbed the stairs up to the third floor in order to link up with the Nighthaunter. “Do we have any EMPs?”

Jai looked around, quickly taking another shot before diving into a building, Trayc'kal buried in another gangster's body. He was finally somewhere out of the fighting and just... stopped for a moment. He took off his helmet, grabbing his head a little as he tried to stop the memories from flowing back. It was just... it was too close to what he'd seen on Concord Dawn. It wasn't like the other missions. The armor those crooks used. It just....

The message then came through. Walkers. Get inside. Osik! Jai quickly put his helmet back on before heading further up the building he'd ran into, hoping for a better view. When he saw the walkers, Jai started thinging.

"If we don't have EMPs, I have another idea. You got a sewer in this section?"
