Faction From The Glare Of Stars | Sith Eternal

It was a simple enough premise, certainly simple enough that a group of Acolytes could handle it without issue. From Ossus it came, a distress signal: a fellow Sith, trapped in a toppled Temple of the Jedi who inhabited the world prior. They had the coordinates, they had their shuttle, and supplies. They even had a medic on hand. What could possibly go wrong?
Well for starters the shuttle malfunctioned when coming in for landing. They had to land quickly several miles off course from the Temple proper. But at least they were planetside.
Then, as if that wasn't enough, one among them had wandered off while the others were disembarking. What had been a simple task, to recover one missing Sith, was now far more dire. Melydia Gold Melydia Gold was Force-knew-where. They were Force-knew-where.
The only upside was that Winter had begun to break on Ossus. The snow they had come to expect from this region had melted away; at least they would not freeze to death. But they had a choice to make, that group of Acolytes and curious Shades who did not seem to hold true affiliation to the Sith... Just who did they go after first?
"Knowing Melydia, she got distracted with the local wildlife," Arcturus said as they gathered to discuss their predicament. "I don't think further splitting up is wise." A slight sigh left him.
Why couldn't anything be simple?
Kalt Bruq Kalt Bruq Dis Dis Ishani Dinn Ishani Dinn Kal Kal / Any other Acolytes!

Yeah, no, I’m not going anywhere by myself. As for who we should—go after first, I guess—whichever one is—in the most danger—ugh!

Ishani swatted at a mosquito-looking bug that kept dive-bombing her face. Ever since Melydia disappeared, all the insects in the general area seemed to have collectively decided the acolytes were fair game.

Motherfether, I’ll smash you and your whole family. Go away!

Trying to escape the merciless bug, she pulled her jacket up over her head. A sneeze nearly blasted her back out of it again. The native flora had activated her allergies; she had been sniffling and sneezing ever since she stepped off the shuttle.

Does anybody have any antihistamines, by any chance?” she asked, her voice muffled.

"Does she make a habit of wondering off?" Kalt asked, regarding Melydia Gold. He slapped a mosquito that had landed on his ear. A part of him wanted to torture these bugs with illusions, but he suspected their minds were too small to really mess with. After seeing Ishani have issues with them, he decided to do everyone a favor and go around killing each of the bugs by quick pushes of the force, small enough to tear apart their little bodies. He did this for a good few moments, until he managed to cull enough of the local population to give themselves a breather.

"Finally." He said, with some relief, now going back to the conversation they were having. "I think we better head to the Temple. I'm sure she knows what she's doing." He said, admittedly not having much patience for someone so distracted as to get lost as soon as they 'landed'. At the very least he wasn't going to waste a bunch of time for a single member of the party, especially someone he didn't even know. At least with the Sith he might be able to further his reputation or learn something.

"Name's Kalt by the way, apprentice of Darth Sanguis. I met a few of you on Korriban but we didn't have much of a chance to talk. Considering the trek we're going to have to make, we might as well get to know each other a little more." He said to the others.

Dis seldom used their spaceship because they usually prospered without it, but when Surur and Mr. Hssiss were with them and travelling together, they were travelling with it. After the previous events, the Shadowcat and their host there, Surur, became friends. So now it was typically a symbiotic relationship between them and Surur always remembered when Dis possessed her body. In fact! She also joined Greystone and adventures with Dis many times.

At least that's how they arrived on the Ossus, on their own ship, because Surur had the next Sith lesson here; the girl did not leave the Sith Eternal when she joined the Greystone and Dis. The landing wasn’t pleasant, maybe precisely because of their mount, who was here with them, but the Shadowcat didn’t want to come without a mount because who knows how much area to walk around under the class.

That is, now under the search.

What the Shadowcat was very happy about was that Kal was here again, as well as other friends they already had an adventure with and two strangers they didn’t know yet. They agreed with Arcturus Thesh that they should look for Melydia Gold Melydia Gold . Dis didn't know the girl that much, but they knew Kal did.

"I’m Surur!" she introduced herself to those who did not know her. "I support Arcturus' idea we should look for her. I think he can help, follow Melydia’s scent like a hunting dog."

With that, she patted the back of the mount, which nodded moderately at the words.

A missing Sith in a ruined temple, how exciting. There was no way Kal could pass up the opportunity, doubly so given the involvement of some of his favourite people. The Sith Order itself was quite the destabilising influence, but he'd found himself quite liking certain individuals.

"She does have a habit of following her own path, yes. I don't imagine any of the local wildlife would be any threat to her, however." His voice oddly musical, on account of the Ersansyr body he was possessing, Kal did not seem overly concerned. She was a friend and he would be the first to render assistance if needed, but he'd met her on Dxun as she busily befriended predators of every kind. Ossus was child's play in comparison.

"I'd suggest we seek out this Sith-in-distress first, let her see the sights."

What he left unsaid was that he would, of course, happily abandon the rescue mission to seek her out instead if given any hint whatsoever she might be in danger. He preferred to help people if possible, but when push came to shove his friends came first. Always.

"So then we're decided?" he asked, though their answers were pretty self-explanatory, "We do what we came here for, then seek out Miss Gold. With any luck our pilot friend here will figure out what caused the shuttle to drop in the first place, and we'll have a way off world when all is said and done..."
He glanced over the gathered individuals, nodding once, before turning and peeking his head back toward the shuttle. "Coordinates, if you'd be so kind," he said. After a little back and forth he had two sets: where they presently were, and where their distress signal had hailed from. Both important to know since they would be setting out on foot.
Or, on whatever it was Dis Dis had brought to ride. Intriguing creature, truly.
"Everyone have what they need? I don't think we'll be back here for some time."
Once things were collected, they set off in search of the Sith several miles away...

Nobody had any antihistamines, but at least the Devaronian guy was acting as a devilish fly swatter. “Hi Kalt, nice to meet you. ‘m Ishani,” Ishani introduced herself before blowing her nose into a tissue. She hoped she wouldn’t run out of Kleenex before they got off the planet. That would be… bad. Very bad.

Merman (who was too cool to give them his name, evidently) seemed to be the closest to Melydia, but he didn’t seem all that concerned about her wellbeing. So they were going after the other people. The cat girl, Surur, had brought some kind of weird pack animal to ride on. Ishani eyed it warily, sniffling. She wished she had her own cool animal to ride around on. It looked like it might be some sort of Sithspawn. Man, if she ever did progress into biological alchemy, it would be to make cool pets and battle mounts.

Instead, she trudged along behind Arcturus and the others, trying not to sneeze herself into the stratosphere. They could all hear her every so often, taking a sudden sharp breath followed by a muffled achoo! It was a shame, really—Ossus in the first flush of spring was quite pretty, the trees all sprouting leaves and even a few buds forming on the branches and vines. But she couldn’t really—achoo! Enjoy it.

Finally, they reached the crash site. Ishani had completely retreated into her jacket like a turtle in its shell. She glanced at the others, then yelled, “Hello! We’re here to… ah, ahha ha, nope, you didn’t get me that time… We’re here to rescue you. Kind of.” She managed to say that much before she really did sneeze.

Something about Surur and Kal, the Cathar and Ersansyr that accompanied them, came off as unusual to Kalt. Even more so than the mount Surur was riding on, which was something he had never seen or heard of before (the galaxy was a big place after all). Although even that seemed to be off, like it was more of a construct than an organism. They weren't like any normal sentient, at least according to what he felt in the force. Perhaps the two shared something in common? It wasn't unheard of to observe abnormalities in the force, and for multiple people to share them but he suspected this was different. He didn't know much about either of them, but he decided to make an effort of finding out when he had a chance.

He nodded to those who responded to his greeting when he had the chance. He responded to Ishani, "A pleasure to meet you again... Perhaps the Sith we're seeking might have some remedy for you." He suggested, with regards to her allergies. He didn't really suffer from allergies like Ishani but admittedly could visibly get an idea of what she was going through just by watching her sneeze.

The group seemed to be split on choosing to look for Melydia or the Sith first. However, a decision was made and they choose to search for who they came for first. Melydia would have to wait but was unlikely to be in any danger according to Kal. They checked to make sure they gathered their things and then set out to meet the Sith. Along the way, Kalt approached both Surur and Kal, walking in lock-step with the two. "Hello, forgive me if this is a bit too inquisitive, but there seems to be something unusual about the two of you. Do you two share some kind of force bond? Your presence in the force is—forgive the wording—strange." He asked.

Upon arriving at their destination, Kalt observed to see the situation. Not saying anything but more keeping an eye out. He wasn't sure what had brought them down or if the people they were rescuing had other plans for them.

It seemed that then they would eventually leave the girl for a while and not go after her, but look for the Sith. Maybe they’ll really need them more there. They hoped no one would get any trouble because they didn’t want to. Yes, the presence of Shadowcat here may have been strange, since Dis was a pacifist. And yet they spent a lot of time with the Sith, interested in learning.

They didn't travel on the mount anyway, just walked past him and looked around wordlessly. All this lasted until the devaronian stepped there. They looked at the man with interest; was he able to feel them? Dis didn't really keep it a secret that they were possessing someone, they mean, they were in symbiosis with Surur, so possibly anyone could probably feel both of them. But the Shadowcat thought Kal was more cautious than that, especially in a foreign body.

~ How much would you like to tell him? ~ they asked Kal.

Dis was basically friendly and used to say what they really were, but they didn't know this was true for Kal or not. So they decided to ask this and act on what their Shadow peer says. It was the most sensible decision on their part because they weren’t bothered if Kal told everything, but maybe it will bother Kal, if they tell everything.

In the meantime, they seemed to be arriving soon, so they took another telling look at their Shadow peer. For the time being, however, they had not moved aside from Kal and Kalt because, in light of the response, they are likely to be able to join the conversation as well.

Onwards to the rescue they went, though it was hard to say just how endangered the missing Sith truly was. All they had to go by was a distress signal and the presumption that it would not have been activated without good reason. The situation could be dire or of minor importance.

Eying the Devaronian thoughtfully following his question and Dis' telepathic follow-up, Kal considered discretion only to arrive at the conclusion that it wouldn't really serve any purpose. There were already several present that knew of his true nature - and the same could be said of various ranking Sith not currently present. Besides, he hadn't been working very hard to appear "normal" to begin with and Dis even less so, with its cat-golem.

"Good question. We are spirits currently possessing biological bodies - mine is a clone and by extension quite expendable. You may call me Kal."

An argument could be made that he would be better served not introducing himself by name as frequently, but it seemed a bit rude to constantly lie about one's identity, especially when not strictly necessary. "Oh, and we are of the same kind, no more, no less. No Force Bond here."

Attention flickering to the ruins and the loud blonde currently announcing their presence, Kal paused then raised a single eyebrow.

"It doesn't seem like... oh. How interesting."

Though their journey took some time to achieve, it was oddly uneventful. Ossus wasn't exactly known for its large apex predators, or daring landscapes, but even so he had expected they'd run into something... anything. Instead they'd ventured on, and encountered nothing.
Somehow that made the experience all the more eerie. All the more wrong. Was something keeping it all at bay? He could feel the suspense grow, tension in the air, even if the others seemed to pay it no heed.
Ishani was the first to address the one they'd come to rescue, while the others spoke quietly together on some matter he wasn't listening in on. They had come upon a crashed ship, lodged into the base of one of the temples they'd no doubt ransacked following the Bryn'adul invasion. So much knowledge had been lost in that aftermath, and he had been apart of the team responsible. It still pained him to this day.
But he did as he was bid.
He shook that thought from his mind as a clanking resonated from within the ship itself. "I think he's stuck in there," Arcturus said, breaking into a short sprint to get him to the edge of the vessel faster. He doubted that short burst of energy would really achieve much, who knew how long the man had already been stuck here for, but it felt important all the same.
Necessary.
"Hey, we're here to help... Get away from the hull,"
He turned to look at the others, before reaching down for his lightsaber and unhooking it from his belt. With any luck they'd get the idea.
A sickly red beam emanated from the hilt, and he turned it toward the ship's exterior to begin burning through.

If there was one relief that Aaran could feel to his current predicament. Was that the others had gotten away.

Even since the Silver Jedi were driven from Ossus, he had been aiding others when it came to slipping in and out of the system. Rescuing those that he could. From younglings, to his fellow Jedi. Even the unfortunate civilians who had been caught in the crossfire. Sadly, with whatever new cult of Sith this was, the forces of the Worm Emperor were organised and cunning. Any effort he made was slow going.

Thankfully he had managed to get the others to the escape pods in time. He sensed them getting picked up by his reinforcements and jumping out of the system. The Freebird was still cloaked and hiding in orbit. Waiting for him to call it down. The only issue to that was that his commlink was currently busted and was unable to send out the signal. A rather unfortunate situation to be in.

And unknown to him. The distress signal of his stolen shuttle had sounded as he crashed down. Attracting the attention of several curious acolytes.

The only real advantage was that he managed to bring his ship down in an old temple. It would have been a decent enough place for him to camp out and plan his next move. If not for the aforementioned signal drawing undue attention to himself.

He was roused from his meditation by the faint presence of the Acolytes approaching. Curiosity was the first emotion that formed, followed by relief that none of the newcomers seemed to be any true Sith tyrants. Which honestly made some sense. Why send anyone important for such a petty task? Rolling his shoulders, he stood up fromhis seat. Taking the satchel beside him, full of a less precious cargo than the lives he had managed to save.

Jedi Holocrons. Rescued from the clutches of the Sith. If the Concord were not going to take proper care of their knowledge and ensure that it did not fall into the hands of those that would abuse it, Aaran would see to it himself that they were delivered safely back to Coruscant.

For some time he waited, resting and focusing himself as the Acolytes approached. Concealing his presence in the Force. Appearing for the moment to be mundane to their senses. Not responding as he heard one of the voices call out to him. It seemed to be genuine as far as he could tell. But his fingers still wrapped tightly around the straps of his satchel, double checking to ensure that the precious cargo was secure.

As the saber began to burn through, Aaran simply sat opposite the entrance. Appearing as non-threatening as possible and when the hole was finally opened. He would release his concealment. Allowing his presence to be felt by others present. Unmistakably carrying the aura of a Jedi. The living Force around him was as if a tranquil lake. Undisturbed and serene. Powerful as well.

"My thanks for the timely rescue. May I have the names of my rescuers?" He asked, his tone polite. As Thesh looked into the gap, he would see a rather tall man, about three to five years his senior. Heavily muscled with dark hair and strong features. But what was most remarkable about him was the strip of white cloth covering his eyes.

And the unmistakable leather jacket of the New Jedi Order.

When Kal revealed his and “Surur”’s true nature, Ishani made a face. Quickly fishing a sample vial of Chthonic out of her pocket, she spritzed herself with an air similar to a genuflection. The air around her now smelled (to the non-spirits, at least—it would smell blatantly repulsive to Kal and Dis, should they get too close to her) sweet, almost candylike. Not that she could smell it herself, what with her allergies.

Receiving no answer to her shouting, Arc concluded the shuttle’s occupant was stuck, ran over and cut through the hull with his lightsaber while the rest of them watched. The hunk of molten-edged metal collapsed, revealing a dude wearing a blindfold and a—

Ah chi—hoo!” Her attempt at cussing was cut off by yet another sneeze.

She had seen that same leather jacket about five million times during her brief trip to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, back when she was still searching for the then-missing Arcturus. She supposed she ought to thank her lucky stars that it wasn’t Dagon Kaze Dagon Kaze inside the shuttle. That would’ve been a little too conveniently awkward even for the Force. Instead it was a Miralukan with a bit of scruffy facial hair, clutching a bag chock full of something, presumably valuables.

Did this guy know he had been discovered by a bunch of Sith acolytes? He had to have guessed, given the current situation on the planet. So him playing nice was probably just the usual Jedi moral superiority at play. She sighed, provoking another sneeze. It was too early for this.

‘m Ishani. Do you have any allergy medication, by any chance?

Kalt's eyes grew wider as he could sense the presence of the Jedi inside once the shuttle's hull had been opened. He immediately went to work hiding his own presence in the force. It wasn't very useful considering he likely already knew he was among them but it would allow him to move around without him knowing where he went. He left a projection of himself behind to act as a dummy. He couldn't exactly see the Jedi but hoped he'd be foolish enough to think that he hadn't just left the position he was in. He then went around and clambered up on top of the shuttle. Then he moved around to just over the opening. He drew his lightsaber but didn't ignite it yet, preparing it to strike the Jedi as he might have exited the shuttle. He raised a finger up to his lips in a 'shushing' motion, so as to signal to his fellow acolytes not to give his position away. An experienced Jedi might be able to see this sort of trap a mile away but Kalt figured it was worth trying nonetheless.

He was a little puzzled when Ishani simply greeted him and asked for anti-histamines. He gave a visible indication of his confusion in her direction. Then supposed if she was struggling with allergies that much, maybe she might as well see if she can get some medication from him before they cut him down.

"And I'm Dis, that's my real name. My host is Surur, if you want to talk to her too just let me know and I will give back control to her and then she will control the body. There is a kind of symbiosis between us, she still sees and hears everything."

The Shadowcat explained it after Kal's words, to the devaronian man. In the end, it seemed to them that Kal didn't want to answer anymore because something else caught his attention. After the introductions, the blonde-haired girl blew some perfume on herself, which made Dis start to feel very uncomfortable and ruffled their host’s fur. Meanwhile, they also watched what Arcturus was doing, though they hadn't gone any closer yet.

"Hello!" they waved kindly at Aaran. "I’m Dis, or Surur! How do you feel?"

If they had already revealed their real names, they have now spoken it out loud. Their host's eyes were green, not golden. In the meantime, they positioned themselves to be further away from Ishani and not to smell her perfume. It wasn't as if they wanted to possess the girl's body, Dis just did such a thing with permission.

Anyway, with Ishana's behaviour, they didn't really know what to do, the blonde girl was very strange. They looked after Kal, then turned back in the direction of the devaronian, but tried to pay attention to the others as well.

"Do you have any more questions about who we are?"

gU6KoIz.png

There had been something odd about the presence, or rather lack thereof, within the shuttle. Subtle undertones of potential outcomes too tenebrous to be clearly distinguished without further training, or at the very least more time to observe. Arcturus did not seem terribly interested in what might be a lengthy observation, however. Kal could hardly blame him, mortals were not known for their patience - their lives were too fleeting.

Then, the revelation. A Jedi, hiding his presence from their sight. Unexpected, but he had been expecting the unexpected.

Smiling politely as the man greeted them - a stark contrast to the downright malicious glare briefly directed at the blonde after she sprayed her vile ichor everywhere, like a mongrel marking its territory - it was clear that Kal would prefer a peaceful interaction, though it seemed the Devaronian was otherwise dispositioned. Unfortunate, but to be expected when working with Sith.

"Greetings, mister Jedi." Likely not the proper form of address, but this one did not feel like a Master, at least to Kal's inexperienced senses. "I take it you are the source of the distress signal?" A slight scoff crossed his features. "... and this tasteless vandalism of a historical site?"

He could not be too harsh, however, given how much damage the Sith tended to do to Jedi cultural sites. Besides, crashing was rarely intentional.

Imagine his surprise when the Sith distress signal had in fact been set off by none other than a Jedi.
At first the lack of any true presence had led him to believe whoever was inside was hurt, perhaps young and inexperienced and thus without a shining beacon that yelled hey I know what I'm doing with the Force! But as the Jedi revealed themselves following the removal of a ship panel he quickly realized the error of his ways.
Still the stranger did not step forth with ignited saber, instead he clutched a satchel and addressed them calmly, politely. There were a couple among them who did not hold strongly the beliefs of the Sith, they were bobbling along the waves afforded to them, learning what they could without ever truly submerging, and he knew immediately that their stance would be decidedly different from the likes of Kalt.
Kalt who had dopple'd himself and was now perching precariously up above, like a bird of prey readying to swoop in at a moment's notice.
Ishani was seemingly as friendly as the Spirits were. At least insofar as asking for a certain kind of aid herself.
That left Arcturus. Blade still ignited, he settled his gaze upon the man.
"Arcturus," he said, unable to shake some of his natural instincts and return civility in kind, "And you are?"
There was something familiar about this one. Something he couldn't quite place his finger on. He'd never encountered him face to face, but he had the feeling he'd seen him on a holoscreen before... Coruscant. When he was staying on Coruscant. Some trashy show that had aired here and there, and seemed to grip the nation. Whatever his name was Arc couldn't recall it.
He did not lower his blade, in fact he had subtly shifted his stance to better act if the Jedi decided to lash out at them.
"You have a lightsaber, no doubt. Place it in the satchel, and put the satchel on the ground."
Force he hoped that Kalt had a quick reaction time if things turned sour.

Handsome blindfolded hyper-religious whackjob
He allowed his emotions to be read easily by the Force Sensitives present. His lips quirking in slight amusement at Ishani's greeting. A slight exhale escaping his lips that some might mistake as the beginnings of a chuckle. He was glad, so far none of them had attacked him on sight. Although judging from the rattling of the shuttle roof. Something might be scuttling up there. For a moment, his gaze was drawn upwards. His lack of ability to see the physical realm allowing him to bypass crude matter to get a proper glimpse at the luminous beings around him. And for a moment, they would feel his curiosity as his gaze moved in the direction of Kal and Dis. A slightly puzzled frown appearing on him as he measured the two entities that were sharing a body with something else.

Likes pieces of a puzzle that did not quite fit together. He could see them as anomalies on the grand tapestry of the Force. He never actually met a spirit like that before. Only having read about them in various texts.

As well as the theoretical knowledge on how to banish the more malicious entities back to the Netherworld. But that was neither here nor there.

"Nice to meet you all as well. My name is Aaran." He greeted, before reaching out with his free hand to the wall beside him. Pulling off a first aid kit. "Although I should state. This was not vandalism. But renovation. I felt this place could use some more natural light. Being the only Jedi around, I can technically make that call." He said, tone still jovial as he stood up, joints cracking slightly as they were allowed to move after such a long period of remaining still.

It wouldn’t take long for Arcturus to realise his identity after hearing the name. He was rapidly, much to Aaran's own annoyance, becoming a public figure in the core. The Warden of Peace, Battlemaster of the New Jedi Order. And an individual with a disturbingly high track record of surviving battles well above his weight class.

At the Acolyte's demands. He pursed his lips. A faint feeling of amusement was felt before it was quickly smothered by his usual calm countenance. "I don’t see what I should do that my friend." He explained evenly, hand patting the satchel at his side. "I'm afraid that this won’t be leaving my side until I get back to Coruscant. I do apologise." He spoke. And it was genuine. Or as far as any of them could tell, the Jedi in front of them was being genuine. "And as polite as you all are, I'd rather not disarm myself until I'm safely off world."

"Counter-offer."
He said, absently rattling the first aid kit as he began to walk towards Arcturus. "Allergy medication in exchange for you stepping aside so I can stretch my legs?"

Even as he moved towards the Acolytes, they would sense no hostility. No malice, no feeling of tension before a fight. At no point did he feel threatened by their presence. Nor did he even consider raising a hand against them. Seemingly unafraid of approaching a potential hostile with an ignited saber.

In response to the malicious glare offered by Kal, Ishani held up the vial of perfume and made a sudden motion as if she were about to spray him with it, only to pause, smirk, sneeze, and turn back to the Jedi.

Was he a master? Somebody important? If they tried to fight him, would he cut them all down with ease?

Kalt was on top of the shuttle, ready to kick some ass. Arcturus was willing to be somewhat civil, at least for the moment. Both boys had their lightsabers out. The two skinjackers Dis and Kal didn’t seem to care. The situation… really didn’t look too good for them.

She ran a hand through her hair and sighed, triggering another sneeze. Feth this.

Arc,” she said, backing away towards him and resting a hand on his arm. “Let’s not. I’d rather not die today over a bag of Jedi holocrons. Also, I really want those…” She let go of him in order to sneeze into her elbow. “... meds. So let’s just leave this alone and go look for Melydia instead.

They could call for backup, report the incident to a superior, explain that they were a group of three acolytes and two skinjackers against a possible Jedi Master. Virtually anything other than trying to fight an opponent who might be twice their rank.

Kalt prepared himself for a little trickery. He would need to use his projection if he wanted to both speak and keep his potential ambush hidden from the Jedi. He raised a hand out toward it and focused a bit. He was essentially programming it on-the-go, to speak on his behalf, having to instruct it on not only what to say but how to say it; his stance, mannerism, etc. It was a bit tedious but it would have to do.

"Considering this is now a Sith world, and we're the ones holding the single avenue of escape for you at the moment, you're going to need a lot more leverage than that to get us to let you out." The projection said to Aaran, staring at the stranger in the opening. The projection seemed ready, it's lightsaber drawn and ready, but open. They weren't going to attack just yet.

Kalt wasn't exactly ready to just let a Jedi walk away. On the one hand, taking down an experienced Jedi, even with help, was something that would win him a lot of glory. On the other hand, if anyone got wind of him letting a Jedi go, they would be severely punished. The least of his potential punishments would be the loss of the reputation he spent a year attempting to recover after his Master had turned to the light. He doubted he'd be able to do so again, if that was all he faced as a consequence. However, against an experienced Jedi, he would need the help of the others. Kalt was confident in his abilities, and there was a chance could maybe win on his own, it was smarter to stack as many advantages in his favor as possible. At the very least, he hoped to get Arcturus' help but suspected he might be on the fence. Ishani's own insistence on letting him go agitated Kalt a little.

"Might I remind everyone that it's his mandate to find his 'balance', and that he has likely gathered intelligence from the shuttle that can be used against the Sith Eternal. The sort of things that will likely see us killed if anyone realized we let him go." The projection said, emphasizing the potential consequences. Likely the gesture highlighted some of Kalt's own concerns as well.
