STANDARD FEATURES
This ship retains all of the military-grade features of its class, notably:
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
Strengths:
  • Ranged Support: The Resolute is fitted with a high number of mid-to-long range armament, allowing it to remain at the edges of fleet combat for an escort role, and even utilizes a cognitive module to assist in projectile calculations.
  • Cycling Shields: The Resolute has layered shielding that, when combined with the Xythan systems energy absorption and channeling, allows for redundant shield layering that can recharge independently during combat engagements.
  • Transport Warship: The Resolute has been fitted to maximize starfighter and support craft transport, which allows it to provide an impressive number of smaller craft to its fleet/s; it has also taken lengths to protect its hangar bay entries, including impervium reinforcement and doors, as well as dual quad-cannons at each entry.
  • Punch Through: The Resolute utilizes a large number of mass drivers and other solid projectile weaponry, giving it a very strong impact from those longer distances in combat.
Weaknesses:
  • From Distance: The Resolute lacks the typical brute force and protection of other warships of its size, due to the focus on transport/escort support, so engaging in close ship-to-ship combat isn't ideal.
  • Protection Needed: The Resolute needs support vessels to help protect it, since its main strength is the sheer number of starfighters and support craft it carries.
  • Blind Spots: Like most conventional Star Destroyer designs, the stern lacks dedicated weapon defenses, leaving it less defended than the rest of the vessel; as such, it requires support from other vessels and starfighters to compensate.
  • Hyperspeed: Despite having a very fast hybrid-hyperdrive, specifically made for the Resolute, it must slow itself to maintain fleet hyperspace travel formations.
  • Energy Hungry: The more specialized advanced systems of the Resolute require considerable power to utilize and as a result must be used individually to avoid damage to the vessels power reactors.
  • Slow and Heavy: The Resolute lacks speed and maneuverability, meaning it relies on being able to remain on the outer of combat and having space to move.
  • In or Out: The guardian-class shielding on the hangars offers high protection for those potential weakpoints in the hull, but also require temporary deactivation to allow internal vessels through the included particle resistance.
Description:
The Resolute is a vessel of impressive size, hangar space and operational systems. The First Order commissioned the Star Dreadnought for use within their navy to be commanded by officers appointed by High Command. Not only does it boast numerous Chiss-designed advancements to weapons, defenses, systems and components, but it uses the hybrid-hyperdrive for incredibly accurate microjump capabilities. With a plethora of internal craft space, layered shielding, reinforced structuring and hull plating, as well as some specialized systems for completing specific tasks, the Resolute is an impressive transport vessel for any fleet. Yet, like most Star Destroyer designs, there remains some defensive shortcomings.

In order to successfully utilize its weapons and shielding to full effect, the Resolute tends to require mid-to-long range engagement. By having a layered shielding system in place, complete with guardian-class shielding on all hangar bay entries, the vessel has taken specific steps to reinforce those hangar weakpoints. Still, in order to launch starfighters or support craft, those same shields require temporary deactivation. Another aspect was a sacrifice being made to the close range weaponry, which means the Resolute tends to rely on fleet support to avoid threats it can't handle, such as assault-specific warships. Still, the ingenuity of First Order and Chiss engineers has resulted in the dreadnought maintaining a large number of mass driver and solid projectile armament, which gives the Resolute a serious punch at range.

Two less common systems on the vessel are the Predator Interdiction Drive, and the Cognitive Module. The Drive is designed to emit an interdiction-like field around the Resolute, which in turn slows all vessels realspace speed within a nearby range for a brief time; this allows the Resolute several advantages, such as maintaining speed with enemy vessels that are faster, keeping enemy vessels nearby for reinforcements to arrive, etc. The second is a Cognitive Module, which is a type of Droid Brain that allows for assistance in calculations related to triangulation and projectile accuracy over long distances. Because it is solely dedicated to that task, the mass drivers on the Resolute have become very effective.

When it comes to the advanced hybrid-hyperdrive, the engineering teams constructed larger units well-suited to propel the Resolute into hyperspace easily, simply and efficiently. The hyperdrive is capable of incredibly smooth transitions in and out of hyperspace, as well as having dedicated advanced systems for microjump calculations and executions. Combined with the vessel's HIMs integration and enhanced navicomputer, it is able to perform some impressive microjump strategies. Because of the larger size and more powerful outputs, the hyperdrive has reached faster speeds than the other smaller vessel hyperdrives; yet, in order to remain within fleet formation, the Indomitable must go at a slower hyperdrive setting so as to remain with the vessels under its command. Though when moving independently the Resolute can utilize its full hyperdrive speed.

All in all, a highly stocked and filled dreadnought capable of supporting a fleet or fleets with impressive starfighter support; however, due to the hangar requirements, a lot of internal storage space has been used up, resulting in less space for armament or shielding. As a result, it tends to circle the battlefield or be very cautious when moving into mid-to-close ranges...
