SETTING INFORMATION
Military Base Name
: Elysium Base.
Classification: Fort.
Location: Elysium.
Affiliation: Enyo Typhos,
Archangel Research and Design, Iron Fist Consortium, Revenant Industries, Typhos Clone Family.
Population: Heavy.
Demographics
: Droids, HRDs and organic prisoners of various races. Small number of Force Clones and a couple of
Shards. A few Cyborgs from Enyo's paramilitary force are stationed at the base. Enyo trusts them more than droids, and so they are here to supervise.
Accessibility: The base is very well-concealed and owned by a notoriously private, paranoid Cyborg with a strong dislike of trespassers. Moreover, it has been erected on a remote, otherwise uninhabited planet. It is naturally concealed by its location. Moreover, there is a Darksky Area Shield in place. Archangel has set up turrets and laid mines to protect the base. The base's concealment is enhanced by a full suite of electronic countermeasures.

It is also lined with anti-sensor camouflage netting. These ensure that even dedicated sensor ships will have trouble spotting it. It also has an optical shield and electromagnetic shielding. Only authorised personnel are granted access to the base. Archangel subscribes to the school of thought that good fences make good neighbours and has a very aggressive policy when dealing with trespassers: They are either shot or stunned, restrained and processed.

Description: The base is located on Elysium, a dry, cold and airless rock far from the hyperlanes. Long ago, the planet underwent a cataclysm which exterminated the primitive life on it and boiled the considerable oceans to dust. Those oceans had made vast caves, and it is here that the Elysium base is located. From the air the base is almost invisible. From a short distance above a powerful scanner tower might be observed, along with some suspicious looking metal hatches and domes. However, if one is close enough to see this, one would be in range of the array of heavy weapon turrets, and the heavy Sariss cannons. The main base area is located inside a vast mountainside, whilst the hanger, landing area, greenhouse and solar panels and the only true entrance are located in a canyon below.

The base itself features few amenities or living areas, as droids are the only workers. However, space has been reserved for living quarters for Enyo's clone siblings. Her siblings are organics and the accommodations reflect that. However, they are rather Spartan. The base has numerous recharging, repair and storage facilities. The base’s reactor is set deep into the rock, but even its vast power cannot keep up with all the base’s needs at once. Elysium is an airless rock, so the base has its own life support system. The life support systems for the cloning facilities and the sanctuary of Enyo's siblings are decentralised. Enyo does not breathe, but her sibling and fellow clones obviously do. Decentralisation also allows compartmentalization in case something goes wrong elsewhere in the base. Moreover, it protects the facility from sabotage and tampering.

The base could in theory be pounded from orbit by a Star Destroyer. This would require finding it first though. A successful bombardment could destroy the surface defences and cause considerable damage, but the deepest areas would be virtually unaffected by anything except a superlaser or a concentrated low-orbit bombardment. Seizing or destroying the base is thus very difficult, but not impossible.

POINTS OF INTEREST
Greenhouse: Here Archangel grows crops to ensure its prisoners do not die before they are ready to be processed. It also helps feed any clones and other organics that might be staying in the base. Uses solar energy and extracted atmospheric moisture from the air.
Solar panels.
The Cells: Organics captured or purchased are imprisoned here before being processed. This clean, sterile area can hold up to 100 unfortunates at a time. Any disobedience or escape attempts are met with unmerciful execution or processing. There are
universal energy cages and ysalamiri to contain Force-Sensitive prisoners.
The Processing Machines: The Elysium base contains three Mk I Processing machines. The Mk I devices are large and constantly working. Each machine can process ten organics per day into HRDs.
The Mines: Mining still continues in the deeper caves. In theory an infiltrator could navigate the warren of caves and tunnels and came at the base from within, but finding one’s way through unseen would be extremely difficult. Most of the mining is devoted to supporting droid manufacturing. However, Elysium also has copper, iron, gold and other minerals that can be sold on the market, so Archangel mines them, too.
The Factory: A factory for creating the droids produced by Archangel has been established in the depths of the caverns. Production is mainly focussed on producing the HRD parts needed for the processing machines. Other droid types can obviously also be manufactured.
Molecular furnaces assist with fabrication and recycling, including that of superfluous organic bodies. Enyo dislikes wastefulness. The cyborg is a strong supporter of sustainable development and renewable resources. She always gets on her siblings' case when they do not practice waste sorting and reycling.
Self-regulating droidmakers and Synthicators can also be found here.
Barracks: The living quarters for the Cyborgs that belong to the garrison. They are utilitarian, but possess all the facilities the Eisenkrieger need, including a medbay as well as maintenance and repair areas. Only a small number of Eisenkrieger are stationed at Elysium, so this section is not large. However, they tend to be officers, so they are well-maintained.
Cloning Chamber: Located in the lowest levels. Here new Force clones can be grown in cloning cylinders. The output is actually quite low. This is because Enyo regards them as siblings rather than expendable cannon fodder. Naturally it can also be used to clone skin, organs and limbs.
Asclepius HRDs and more conventional medical droids handle medical and cloning matters. This section of the base is well-stocked with provisions and very tightly guarded.
Living
Sanctum: Located in the deepest levels of the base. Here the clones have their living quarters. Comes equipped with refreshers, training facilities, an entertainment and recreation area as well as a communal kitchen. Enyo was raised in a monastic way and is trying to raise her siblings in the same manner. Her success has been mixed, but she does not tolerate 'frivolous luxuries'. The Sanctum has a HoloNet connection. All communication is heavily encrypted. The sanctuary's defences include a disruptor security beam.
Landing Pad: In the canyon a large landing area, capable of handling transports of up to 400m in length has been laid out. As mentioned above this is covered by heavy weaponry.
Hanger: A hanger facility capable of holding three squadrons of droid fighters is housed nearby and able to harass any attacker.
The Reactor: A hypermatter reactor powers the Elysium base from its core deep within the mountain. This is well protected by the thick stone around it from anything but a BDZ attack or internal sabotage. Has Agrinium shielding.

SECURITY
Maximum.
The base is very heavily defended, though its greatest advantage is its obscurity.

  • The base is located in a vast mountain slide. A full suite of electronic countermeasures means that even dedicated sensor ships will have trouble detecting it. It is also lined with anti-sensor camouflage netting. The base has a Darksky Area Shield. This uses an optical shield combined with a sensor mask to conceal the base. Moreover, an electromagnetic shield has been set up.
  • Concealed out of sight four Sariss Planetary Cannons can fire right into orbit with lethal effect. These weapons can fire once every fifteen seconds or so, thus keeping up a semi-continual barrage from the ground.
  • Enemies who make it to the ground or attempt to attack from the air will have to overcome a score of recessed Preserver Defence Turrets, missile launchers and quad lasers. These are strategically placed to provide covering fire arcs. These defence guns are concealed if they are not in use. Mines have also been laid.
  • A hanger containing squadrons of droid fighters is situated in a cave near the main base. These are able to activate and go into action very quickly. Standard contingent is two squadrons of Wraith class starfighters and three squadrons of standard droid interceptors.
  • There is only one conventional entrance; near a large landing pad in a canyon. This landing pad is covered by no less than four turrets. The entrance can be sealed, and is made of Phrik.
Monofilament security guards, mesh traps and monofilament wires are used for perimeter security outside the base. Such traps can also be found in caves. Ventilation shafts are filled with locked grates, motion sensors and extremely narrow, with a lattice of crosshatched, intersecting planes made of turadium, There are also traps for the intrepid adventurer. In short, this is not the place to sneak in through ventilation shafts or use them to make a daring escape.
  • Inside the base intruders would have to deal with security cameras, a network of pop-up auto-turrets, motion sensors, sonic projectors and ray shields. The most critical blast doors are made of turadium. This material is rather difficult to cut through, even for lightsabres. Moreover, security blast doors and air locks can seal off areas of the base and vent them of oxygen if needed. Droids do not breathe, after all. Furthermore, gas can be released into the prison cells to eliminate prisoners if need be. Shock-filaments help stop would-be escapees. The security checkpoints inside the base include powerful scanners. These are located at crucial intersections and apertures.
  • The sensor array includes hyperwave signal interceptors and a Crystal Grav Field Trap, a sensor designed to detect cloaked ships. Site-wide scanning array of Lifeform Scanners and Security Scanners. Cyber security measures include Rapid Repetition Defense Measures, a Pyrowall and Socketguards.
  • The base ase maintains a garrison composed of a mixed force of droids drawn from the Iron Guard. A number of elite Myrmidon HRDs as well as Overlord and Decurion war droids will also be present. Droids cannot be bribed, don't slack on the job and don't demand extra pay for overhours. Or get paid at all. A few Force-Sensitive Shards are assigned on a rotational basis. Like the Iron Knights, they can use lightsabres and the Force. They are implanted into HRD bodies. A few Eisenkrieger are also stationed at the base, though not as an entire unit. Instead they assume leadership roles.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The remote world of Elysium, located far away from the major hyperlanes, was discovered by Archangel several years ago. Seeing it as a brilliant location, Moira and Maelion set about constructing a secret installation which would function both as a stronghold and a processing facility. The base served as Archangel's secretive base of operations. When the machine cult embarked on its Force clone project, cloning facilities were added to the base. Said Force clones would turn out to be the downfall of Archangel's genocidal leaders. Pushed too far, Enyo Typhos and Amara Zarides, the original clones, rebelled against their masters.

To provide the manpower and funds needed to fight her former masters, Enyo created the Iron Fist Consortium, a criminal paramilitary organisation. However, she realised that they alone could not win a war, so she made a devil's bargain with the Contingency. With their help, she invaded Elysium. While the Contingency war fleet wiped out Archangel's warships, Enyo and her allies stormed the base. There, Enyo defeated Maelion Liates in single combat, while Amara rescued a group of newly-grown clones. Shortly thereafter, Enyo betrayed the Contingency. In all fairness, their leader Onyx had gone insane.

Moira Skaldi went underground, allying with Contingency remnants to launch a counterattack. However, she was eventually defeated and Enyo assumed control over Archangel. Once she had consolidated her assets, she turned her attention back to Elysium and decided to rebuild the base. Some changes were made to reflect the change in leadership. Moreover, Enyo upgraded the security systems. It was a good investment for the funds she had accumulated during her time as a war dog. The new additions included a Darksky shield and an extensive ECM suite. To preserve the base's secrecy, Enyo purged those Consortium members who knew about it and were considered disloyal or unreliable. Because the Cyborg hates wastefulness, they were processed into HRDs.

While Enyo has no organic needs, her clone siblings do, and so the new version incorporates living areas for them. However, these are quite Spartan. As a result some of the clones have mixed feelings about the place. On the one hand it assures a great deal of security, but on the other it is lacking in comfort beyond the basics. Of all of Enyo's siblings, Thuella spends the most time here. The Dahomian clone is the family's tech whiz and scholar. She spends a lot of time tinkering, building things and conducting research. Enyo has recognised her sister's talents and given her a workshop.
