And then his thoughts come to a screeching halt. The droid's audioprocessors pick up the sound of distinct footsteps, and for a split second, he thinks it's just an error. It's when the astromech turns his head that he sees her. BB-610 rolls back in clear shock, optic widening. The droid's head twitches as he stares for what felt like a lifetime, unsure of how to even respond.
' You... you showed up. ' comes a low, quiet string of binary, coated in disbelief.
BB-610 rolls up to her, to Bella , to his owner, his partner. And he brings out his electro shock prod, and zaps her thigh with another brief jolt of electricity, much like he'd done when they first met.
' THAT'S for taking so long to show up! ' BB-610 chirps in a metallic huff, and the prod is retracted. The droid promptly inches closer to her, resting the side of his head against her leg, nuzzling softly. Like... a child. He's wobbling excitedly, unable to control himself, his internal heaters whirring to life as they radiate warmth against her; a sign that he's incredibly happy.
' And that's for even showing up at all... ' he murmurs, tone saddened but relieved. The droid tilts his head up at her, gaze soft despite the cold look to his optic. ' I thought you weren't going to be here. I was really hoping you would. I... I know we didn't get off to the greatest start. I know we had our differences, please- I know, I know you didn't like me. '
He rolls back a little, and truthfully, the whole world is on her. He's forgotten about Vyn Daldoure , about Dimitri, even about the twins. He focuses solely on her, just gazing at her bright blue eyes. ' But I'm willing to try... I don't want to give up on you. W-We did good during the invasion- I-I did good, didn't I? ' There's a brief crack in the droid's voice, and to some it was probably interpreted as a simple error in his programming. Other droids, however, would notice the similarity to crying.
