Public Coronation Ball | Eternal Empire & Anyone

ᴏɴᴇꜱ ᴀɴᴅ ᴢᴇʀᴏᴇꜱ

It's a distinct feeling, being able to introduce people. It made him feel... important. Like the ties he'd formed were genuine. And he could tell that Dimitri Lindzinsky was needing company - his face was plagued with worry and disdain, no matter how much he try to shake it. It was easily understandable, of course. BB-610 was right there in the heat of things when all those lives were lost. Company from Willow & Ivy Willow & Ivy was exactly what he needed.

And then his thoughts come to a screeching halt. The droid's audioprocessors pick up the sound of distinct footsteps, and for a split second, he thinks it's just an error. It's when the astromech turns his head that he sees her. BB-610 rolls back in clear shock, optic widening. The droid's head twitches as he stares for what felt like a lifetime, unsure of how to even respond.

' You... you showed up. ' comes a low, quiet string of binary, coated in disbelief.

BB-610 rolls up to her, to Bella Bella , to his owner, his partner. And he brings out his electro shock prod, and zaps her thigh with another brief jolt of electricity, much like he'd done when they first met.

' THAT'S for taking so long to show up! ' BB-610 chirps in a metallic huff, and the prod is retracted. The droid promptly inches closer to her, resting the side of his head against her leg, nuzzling softly. Like... a child. He's wobbling excitedly, unable to control himself, his internal heaters whirring to life as they radiate warmth against her; a sign that he's incredibly happy.

' And that's for even showing up at all... ' he murmurs, tone saddened but relieved. The droid tilts his head up at her, gaze soft despite the cold look to his optic. ' I thought you weren't going to be here. I was really hoping you would. I... I know we didn't get off to the greatest start. I know we had our differences, please- I know, I know you didn't like me. '

He rolls back a little, and truthfully, the whole world is on her. He's forgotten about Vyn Daldoure Vyn Daldoure , about Dimitri, even about the twins. He focuses solely on her, just gazing at her bright blue eyes.
' But I'm willing to try... I don't want to give up on you. W-We did good during the invasion- I-I did good, didn't I? ' There's a brief crack in the droid's voice, and to some it was probably interpreted as a simple error in his programming. Other droids, however, would notice the similarity to crying.

CONFEDERACY

xNTVi5v.png

It was not common knowledge that Adron was the younger brother of the late Emperor, Kainan Wolfe Kainan Wolfe . It was even less common knowledge that before the split between the Eternal Empire and The Confederacy, Adron had served as his brother's chief advisor as Grand Vizier of the Eternal Empire. Regardless of the climate between House Malvern and the Eternal Empire, Adron had decided to attend the event with no ill intentions. In fact, he had recently spent a bit of time with the newly appointed Empress, Ingrid L'lerim Ingrid L'lerim . While she was still an enigma to the Sith Lord, she was no fool and her rule would be one of competence.

Accompanying the Confederate Exarch were two other delegates from the Southern Systems, Jan Beroya Jan Beroya and Taiia Locke Taiia Locke . He'd enjoyed the thought of coming to the event with other members of his state. There were more than a few people who wished to target The Confederacy and it was unthinkable to go anywhere alone. Even with his
specialized cane that served to protect his life while being immaculately stylish.

The Sith Lord decided he would start the evening at his most favored part of any social event. The bar.

"Do either of you drink? I can think of no better way to start the night." He remarked.

He ordered a crystal of whiskey, before turning to the two women who had come with him. "Have either of you had any exposure with the Eternal Empire?"

[The Apartment]

Jason had been very much out of action for a while and sulking ever since the gang wars that had erupted on the Scintilla and the rebellions that had occurred within in Agents of Chaos space. He had isolated himself from the rest of the galaxy and had purely focused on training himself and other members of the Silencers. Now he had come out of his recluse in order to be an observer for the AoC at the coronation of Empress Ingrid L'lerim Ingrid L'lerim . They had been simply tasked to observe the other faction representatives that were at the coronation. They, being him and Chassella, a member of the Eight Arrows Sect that was a subsection of the Silencers. He had decided that there was no need to advertise who they were and the best cover that they could utilize would be to give the impression that they were AoC diplomats (Speakers) here to simply congratulate the Empress and represent the AoC on foreign ground. They were going to arrive together so that the people at the palace could make no mistake that they were a part of the same organization. The people at the palace didn't need to know that they were in fact both AoC special forces.

Discretion was also the reason he and Chassella were selected for the job. As while many had seen "Jason's" alter ego the Nighthaunter involved in AoC missions, he always wore a mask and had never had his face revealed on the battlefield. Chassella was simply not well known enough to be on anyone's radar as she was and under study of the Eight Arrows Sect. Therefore she could easily fly under the radar as required. Jason had told Chassella to wear something smart but slightly provocative in order to blend in. He had not been disappointed in her choice of attire with her picking out a stunning dress that complimented her figure perfectly. Jason had chosen a simple suit as he was not one for military dress. He also needed to give the impression of being a diplomat and military wear was not what was needed. As tempted as he was to bring his Silent Blades, he had told Chassella that they should go unarmed. The last thing they needed at this ball was to cause an intergalactic incident by not following the rules. He finished looking himself over in the mirror of their shared apartment before stepping out of it to see Chassella waiting to accompany him out of the room and down to the ball.

"Shall we?" He said simply taking his partner by the arm and leading her out of the door.

[Royal Palace]

Strolled into the Royal Palace with Chassella wrapped around his arm closely. Now he wasn't the tallest man standing at only 5'9, but next to the small 4'6 Aetherian woman he looked like a giant. He recognized some people that were at the ball and some were complete strangers to him. It was clear that the Empress had definitely invited everyone from all over. He looked over and saw Admiral Dimitri Lindzinsky in a group with a droid and a few twins. He had had no idea that he would be here. He knew Dimitri Lindzinsky wouldn't recognize him, however Jason recognized the Admiral. He was a very public figure in the AoC and was one of their top fleet commanders. He looked down at his partner who had accompanied him,

"Remember we are just here to observe, there is no need to kill these heretics at the moment. And it's a party feel free to enjoy yourself" He whispered in her ear, before craning his neck back up and giving Chassella Chassella a wink. With him being out of the Nightsuit he was far more relaxed and care free. It was almost as if he was suppressing the sadistic killer inside of him. It was clear that "Jason" was a mask that contained a much more dangerous man inside.

Broka the Hutt Broka the Hutt was hardly kind hearted. His generosity always came with a price. The twins weren't exactly having a free ride. They earned their keep with their work, using their gifts to help Broka gain valuable insight into others around him, both in the present and the future.

Even now at this coronation they weren't quite supposed to be socializing as much as they wanted. The two were representing the Black Sun and Broka's interests. They weren't to cater to themselves.

BB-610 BB-610 got excited all of a sudden and bade them to follow. With the anticipation of some fun, they happily followed along, not moving as quickly through the crowd as he could, yet doing well enough. As he stopped at Dimitri Lindzinsky , so did they, immediately gaining a sense of the man from the feelings that were escaping him in waves.

"It's lovely to meet you. I'm Willow and this is Ivy."

"It's alright to feel sad for the lives lost. They are aware and it's appreciated." Ivy didn't dare to say more than that. Some hated their gifts, while others loved it too much.

"And this is Vyn, our bodyguard." Willow knew he'd follow. It wasn't his job to watch from afar, afterall.

Bella Bella soon arrived, much to the surprise of their little droid friend. Willow and Ivy both smiled brightly, and even at 610's behaviour. Oh how he was trying so hard! Ivy could tell that he'd win Bella over eventually. Her being here proved that.

BB-610 BB-610 Bella Bella Willow & Ivy Willow & Ivy Vyn Daldoure Vyn Daldoure

Silence was deafening for him as people moved, danced, laughed, cried all around him. Thoughts running at the front before a familiar sound drew his eyes back to the real. BB-610 BB-610 rolled forward, giving him a greeting as he put on a smile in return.

"Good Evening BB-610." He replied in a measured way, still wearing the smile as his eyes wandered over the people the droid had brought with. The mention of the invasion seemed to drag the light from his eyes a little more, but the smile never faltered. The twins introduced themselves, the one called Ivy making a far to pointed observation to be chance muttering. He said nothing about it though, moving along as though it had simply been another part of the conversation.

"Thank you, and it is lovely to meet you bot-all." Only managing to stutter at the introduction of the body guard. His emotions slowly locked up tight in his heart, not realizing just how far gone into wallowing he had been. A hand went to his chest before he spoke again in greeting. "Dimitri Lindzinksy. Fleet Admiral."

"BB-610 and pilot Bella Bella were an extraordinary pair during the Byss campaign. I did little more than give orders."
As if the name summoned the pilot, Bella appeared in his peripheral. His eyes wandered over with the hand falling to his side, seeing her smile and mimicking it as the droid reacted to her presence. The zap to the thigh received an arched brow from the Admiral, but the follow up had him relaxing.

Raina loved fancy dress parties.

Being an Obsidian Knight in the Confederacy meant she got around some. And that meant the occasional formal to-do. So dancing and fine dining was on the table once again.

Her brows did loft some to find out that she was to accompany the Exarch Adron Malvern Adron Malvern as well as fellow Obsidian member Taiia Locke Taiia Locke . And with no weapons as well.

Thank goodness for magic then.

So she was quite comfortable as she entered the Palace with her companions. And what a trio they made - good looking and dressed to die for. Adron seemed oddly attached to his cane, but Raina left him to his fetishes. She did not hesitate to answer him however, when he asked if they wanted a drink.
"A glass of wine is always a must." she said with a smile, her usually brown eyes burning a bright violet with the amount of Darkness in the room.

As she got her wine, the Exarch asked them if either she or Taiia had had any exposure to the Eternal Empire before.
Raina took a sip of wine before answering. "Not much, if at all. We can't always believe rumours, now can we?" she finally remarked, her eyes glancing over the people within the gilded hall.

A life of prayer and service to the divine mission left little time for frivolous activities, especially in light of the recent uprisings and gang wars transpiring within the Scintilla, events which had threatened the safety of the only home she had ever known in her short life. Like many within the orders of the Silencers and the Eight Arrows, Chassella had isolated herself in the temple after fulfilling her duties in purging the heretics from the Scintilla, fortifying her mind and body so that she would be more prepared to face the challenges ahead. Even now, her body throbbed with lingering soreness, having pushed herself to the limit and beyond during a particularly intense training session only two days before she arrived on Zakuul. An ice bath in the apartment had alleviated most of it, but Chassella was still somewhat uneasy on her legs, to the point where even climbing up stairs made her feel as if she would pull a muscle at any moment.

She regretted not listening to Obriss when the Prioress had warned her not to push herself too hard.

Nevertheless, in deciding to accompany Nighthaunter to Zakuul for the coronation of the Eternal Empress, Chassella did not intend to show weakness in the presence of the most deadly assassin in the Unknown Regions.

And so, after taking a little too long to do her hair and makeup, Chassella was ready for a night of high society.

“We shall.”

Royal Palace

Taking in the crowd of finely dressed nobles, Chassella initially felt out of place, as if she were an imposter in a room full of men and women who had legitimate reasons to be at the event, with the exception of herself. Having spent most of her life at the Eight Arrows Temple, this was indeed a strange place, full of individuals who on another day, might have stood in opposition to her, as an enemy. Her opinion regarding the alliance with the Eternal Empire remained unspoken, but she found it to be confusing, if not outright contradictory to the principles of the divine mission.

She was not the only one who thought that.

Even so, in knowing that the Eternal Empress was also the Aspect of Desire, Chassella knew that it was not her place to question their relationship with the Empire. It was ultimately a matter for people who were far wiser and more stately than herself. In the meantime, she would continue to follow the Eight Arrows of Devotion, placing her faith in Discordia and striving for divine perfection.

“Aww! I was just about to go get my chakrams and start massacring everyone in the room!” Chassella answered in a soft, yet playful whisper, her voice taking on a mocking inflection of childish disappointment before a coy smile came over her features.

“Anyways, where would you like to go first? There’s so much money in here that I’m starting to wonder if they’ll give us beskar cups to drink from. How about the bar, just to see if they actually have them?”

Vyn paced after Willow & Ivy Willow & Ivy and their little friend, not much would stop him from following, unless they asked of course, or had other... business to attend, he knew they deserved boundaries after all he was their protector, not their keeper. It seemed BB-610 BB-610 was taking them to someone he knew, as they approached he stayed composed almost sure there would be no cause for anyone here to attack him, and the odd disgusted stare every now and again never hurt anything but his ego.

They stopped, Vyn was looking over WIllow and Ivy at the older man, he moved to their side getting a better view, glimpsing at a Togruta also approaching In the corner of his eye.

Vyn waited for the introductions as the girls went first Ivy mentioned lives lost and for a second he was on Yavin... in the back of his head, it was a thought that made him remember all the mistakes and regrets he had but he pushed it away, fleeting and Insignificant... a memory. Meeting the Admiral's eyes, Vyn could only wonder if he felt the same... needless death was in no shortage on either side. What she said, he might mention something to Ivy after the party, but that was for later and the likelihood was low.

They then introduced him, the Iridonian gave a slight bow to Dimitri Lindzinsky " A Pleasure." seeing The Admiral's reaction his question had been answered, this man clearly cared.. a fatal but necessary emotion that Vyn was all too familiar with. looking at Dimitri, Vyn's head drifted towards the direction of the door, he wasn't sure why, but it felt like he was back in Sith territory, maybe he did it cause that was indeed the case, the Sith surrounded them, brushing away the feeling his attention was brought back to the Admiral and the twins watching BB-610 swerve and take off towards the approaching girl

"Seems we'll be meeting all kinds tonight" He whispered into the ear of Willow.

Watching BB-610 roll-over and begin to unload on the seemingly Innocent Togruta, who Vyn at this point had guessed was the droid's owner Bella Bella He couldn't help but crack a caring smirk at the following event, no matter where in the galaxy and no matter what side someone was on, companionship seemed to be a bond unbreakable, and In Vyn's mind, this little droid and young Togruta were closer than most.

(Merry Christmas and happy holidays to everyone)

From the outside, from a distance, she heard music, cheerful conversations, laughter. Was she really the only one on this day who didn’t feel good? It was conceivable. Ingrid should have handed over the throne to Tubrok, as it belonged to the man. He was the heir to the throne of Nelvaan before Tacitus arrived there. True, she was temporarily “in exile” on another planet, where he also became a monarch. But in exile he had to keep the Clan Ragal alive. Unlike Ingrid, the man has been raised to be ruler since he was a child. It was true it was common knowledge she would probably be his wife because it was intended for them to unite the two Clans, but the engagement did not come about because of the Assassin War. Later, they fell in love with each other anyway, the rest is history.

The only problem with this idea is that the Ultranauts would not accept him because he was not appointed to the task by Tacitus. Cursed their loyalty at times, even though she was exactly the same; too loyal. Although she has already taken the first steps in what she promised AMCO AMCO that she will not be extremely loyal to her former emperor, but her own thoughts and views, she’ll lead and control the Empire. But still, she was loyal in the direction of her dead husband, because she still loved him. That's why she made a lot of big mistakes or nonsense. In the eyes of others, it might have been, but not for her. That’s why she killed herself on the Byss, true only temporarily because of the energy she absorbed, but she tore apart her own soul and left some of it with Adrian at the Netherworld. In fact, she became part of the Nether and was thus able to pass into the afterlife at any time.

Maybe she should talk about this with Vaylin Vaylin , as she understood and knew Netherworld better than she did. Maybe next time she travels to Dromund Kaas. She offered to help her anyway if she asked.

Looked up as a larger-than-ever firework exploded outside and it's blue light enchanted the entire room almost into daylight. The red-haired woman knew that most people envied her career soaring and achieved everything most people dream of. An agent and spy became an empress in just a decade. However, they don’t know but her private life in ruins, she was no longer a human, lost her mentor and her friend and the most important, the man she loved, her husband. She'd rather be a former agent if they were still alive.

She no longer felt real in this world, hugged her legs even tighter as looked out the windows, and there were more fireworks lights in the air above the city.

Taiia had followed the exarch and Raina into the Royal Palace while attempting to not look the part of a tourist. Throughout all her studies both with the Solanaceae and on her own during her younger years as a Jedi she had studied the official records of Zakuul especially those that chronicled the Eternal Emperor himself Valkorian or as he was known to many at the time as Vitiate, the Emperor of the Sith. Two Empires run by the same man. It was hard for one to not play host to the emotion of standing upon the same planet that had set the course of galactic history for a time.
"A bit of wine is always worth indulging in, especially when it comes to a formal event like this." she allowed her eyes to sweep over the other patrons of the bar and the crowd as well. Many people had come out to see the new Empress Ingrid L'lerim Ingrid L'lerim not surprising really for anytime a coronation was held it was a big event. Turning back to him Taiia gave Adron a smile as she was presented with a glass. When Adron spoke of their knowledge of the Eternal Empire she had to smile a bit.
"I admit, in its current iteration I know little, however, the Eternal Empire in the historical record has always fascinated me. It's rise and fall under Valkorian especially was of particular interest." after she spoke she brought the glass of wine gently to her lips before taking a sip, this would be a very interesting evening.

Bella paused.

Indeed, the diminutive Togruta had expected to see the BB unit at the ball, but not so soon, especially after she had just arrived. As such, her expression was one of muted surprise. She didn’t move an inch as the droid rolled up to her, beeping in disbelief just before delivering a jolt of electricity on her leg. Giving a brief and high-pitched squeak, Bella nevertheless but smiled at seeing the droid wobble with excitement, pressing up against her leg as he did.

In feeling the droid’s warmth, Bella could not help but to feel somewhat emotional, giving into the urge to bend down and hug the strangely human BB unit, in spite of the occasion. With a deep breath, she wrapped her arms around the droid’s spherical frame, Bella smiled, listening as BB-610 beeped his affections.

“You did more than just good, you did great, BB.” Bella answered, placing a gentle hand on the droid’s chassis as she did. “And no, I’m not giving up on you, or on anything else.” She continued.

“I’m always going to be here.”

With that, Bella stood up, smiling at Dimitri as he complimented her and BB’s efforts during the campaign over Byss. A hint of blush came over her features, showing even through the magenta tone of her skin, lending her appearance an intensely vibrant aspect.

“Then, I guess we’ll have to fly together more.” Bella spoke with a soft giggle. “Thank you, admiral.” She finished with a deferential nod.

Jason grinned at her response, for such a young and inexperienced member she certainly was eager. No one could question her devotion to the cause or the divine mission. However, with his trained eye he could also see that she did feel slightly out of place in such a situation. He knew the feeling, and it was something that one could only be rid of with experience. Talking and socializing with those that you would consider your enemy was a difficult concept to grasp, especially among those that were among the more zealous of the Silencers. Jason found it was the hardest part of training new recruits that came into the order. Training them to become adaptable to every situation and making sure that they molded to their surroundings and became invisible. It was something that Jason had learned very quickly as a young boy and it had resulted in him completely ridding himself of his original identity. Instead he took on the title of the Nighthaunter. When he was in public like he was now, he would take a name at random and create a fake identity for himself. He was obsessed with being a ghost and not leaving a paper trail for his enemies to follow. Most Silencers didn't take it to this extreme but were trained on adapting to their surroundings. Chassella Chassella had been trained by the Eight Arrows Sect and therefore Jason did not know how comfortable she was in this sort of situation. She was certainly showing small signs of not feeling completely comfortable. So when she suggested that they got get a drink Jason nodded in agreement,

"Yes I agree c'mon let's go and see what they are serving at the bar" He calmly interlocking his arm with hers and walking her over to the bar. A drink would relax her slightly and make her less uptight, which would be a good thing if they were to maintain their cover. As they walked over Jason took note of the infamous Adron Malvern and assumed those speaking with him we're c Confederacy by association. A couple of the scars on his chest began to ache. Just seeing them here made his old wounds begin to cause him discomfort and pain. He didn't recognize the other two but the mere thought of the Confederacy made his blood boil after the many campaigns against them over the past year.

As they reached the bar Jason simply leaned against the bar looking relaxed and as if he belonged there. As the bartender was walking over to the two of them Jason looked at Chassella with those piercing emerald eyes and quietly said one word,

"Relax."

The word hung in the air for a second before a short and rather stout man reached them and asked what they would like to drink. Jason quickly glanced over the bottles behind the bartender before deciding on what to drink.

"I will take a small glass of whiskey with some ice please. And whatever the lady is having is on me." He said giving Chassella a wink, as if giving her the go ahead to order.

THE EMPRESS?

xNTVi5v.png
The Sith Lord had three glasses of fine Nelvaan wine prepared for the trio. Dark dry reds perfect for the occasion, they filled the palette with an appreciative flavor. The three maroon glasses were placed before them and Adron took his into his hand, lifting it to his lips and enjoying the aroma that flowed over him. He said nothing for a moment, yet he could feel the eyes upon him. They held a grievance that made his lips curl into a knowing smile. He turned his gaze to Nighthaunter Nighthaunter and offered a proud raise of the glass. A salute to the man's health, made in a mock gesture of cordiality.

He returned his eyes to Taiia Locke Taiia Locke and Jan Beroya Jan Beroya giving them each a purposeful expression. "We must enjoy the festivities while they last. Soon enough we will return to the fields of war and these simple pleasures will disappear. I want the two of you to keep your eyes and ears open. The Eternal Empire enjoys allies from all parts of the galaxy, one will never know what they may hear if they listen hard enough. Excuse me, I have a matter to attend to." Although it was duty that his guards remain with him, the Exarch was in no danger here. No, it was better to say so long as Ingrid L'lerim Ingrid L'lerim took no issue with him, then he would be assured of his safety. That was what caused the King to stray from his escort, finding a man draped in an all too familiar black cloak. The King approached the man, whom immediately crossed his arms over his chest at his approach.

They exchanged some words, none to be heard by those around them and soon the cloaked man was leading the Exarch away from the party.

He was brought through a side corridor and led through the palace. Finally, he found himself staring at a door guarded by another two cloaked men. The Wardens of the Shroud were as vigilant as ever it seemed. They had lost none of their efficiency since their time on Nelvaan. A knock erupted on the door before the Illyrian King was gestured to the door before him. He nodded his head in silent thanks before opening the door.

A dark room, barely lit was what laid before him. The nearby window had an immaculate view of the fireworks display that was occurring over the city of Zakuul. It celebrated the return of its monarchy. The King chuckled dryly, taking a sip of his wine as his gaze remained on the view of the city. "They celebrate." He stated simply, before turning his eyes to Ingrid L'lerim Ingrid L'lerim .

"...and you mourn." His amethyst eyes fell upon the woman as he tapped his walking cane on the ground. "Hardly seems a fitting combination."

He held his arm out, bowing his head in a short nod. "Empress." He said in greeting, before taking another sip of his wine, before setting it on a table in the side of the room. "I imagine you are in a great deal of pain and sorrow." He said.

"Fleet Admiral Lindzinsky"
His voice was deep, unnaturally so, however there was a sense of fluctuating emotion fueled by the force energies required to keep his person alive. His eyes burned blue, indicating a stable psyche while his enormous figure hung above the group of Agents of Chaos. "Please allow me to introduce myself"
The clacking of metal interrupted him. With loud and obnoxious steps, the mechnochair of one-time Zweihander Admiral Boot Gaggu maneuvered into position behind the Deputy Overseer of the Armed Forces. The Neimodian had wisely chosen to staay close to the Anzati hybrid, thus advancing when he did and in the process had become an invaluable member of the Anzati's Inner Council.
"My name is Lord Tristan Evore" His hand extended to meet the so-called "terrorist" leader's person. "I am the Deputy Overseer of the Armed Forces and the man originally designated to command Eternal Navy forces during the Invasion of Byss"

"Tell me, Admiral, how many did you lose?"

Willow nodded as Vyn Daldoure Vyn Daldoure commented that they'd be meeting all kinds tonight. Indeed they were, and the night was still young. But it wasn't to be unexpected at an event like this.

Ivy's attention was still on Dimitri Lindzinsky however, lingering for more than just an afterthought. She wasn't quite reaching out to him with her gifts, but instead, she was studying him and the way that people were acting around him.

BB-610 BB-610 was quite busy with his little reunion with Bella Bella and Willow was quite glad gor it. Yet there was a ping of sadness inside of her as well, knowing that they'd see even less of their loyal little friend. But at least they had Vyn with them. It didn't really matter to the twins that he was there because he was being paid, for the man seemed to care about them a little as well. To have others care about them was quite rare and they relished in that feeling for as long as they could. Or at least, that was the plan.

Tristan Evore Tristan Evore soon made his presence known and both Willow and Ivy looked up at him. They were there at the meeting alongside him, Ingrid L'lerim Ingrid L'lerim , Broka the Hutt Broka the Hutt and others trying to salvage some kind of agreement between the three governments. It did not go so well.

The twins had looked into the man with their gifts and did not like what they saw. Nothing had changed in that regard. And so they took a few clalculated steps away from the man, if only to keep from being rude while they distanced themselves a little.

As sat in the hall alone, she felt two people coming in front of the hall, Force users, so not members of the Shadow Company or the Frost Company, but Wardens. It wasn’t as if she needed a guard, they just drew more attention to others that the room wasn’t empty. When the door opened, she didn't look up, not try to figure out through the Force who might have come in. She had good reason to assume that only her family members would be admitted by the Wardens. And only one of them would come after her.

"Tubrok, no, I want to be alone… please leave me alone!"

It was for this reason that she was very much surprised to hear not the voice of her, her first husband, but the brother of her late Emperor. She thought that Malphas was no longer on the planet, that he had left after obtaining the information. Of course, the man was noble, he received an invitation, she just didn't expect to come. For a coronation is always a remembrance of the death of the previous ruler, if one looks at it from this point of view. Yes, everyone else celebrated and she mourned.

"Lord Malvern!"

Greeted the man in a bitter voice. She was tired and tired of speaking in an emotionless, military voice. Her voice also reflected what was visible on her.

"What would be my reason to feel anything else? I had a royal rank that I inherited with the deaths of my friend and mentor… and my second husband was killed during the siege of Dantooine. Our son must grow up without his biological father if I can’t find a way to bring him back…"

At the moment, she didn't care that the man could see it like very few could. And no, she doubted Adron knew what she was feeling. Ingrid couldn't even imagine this on her own, not even after Voss. She could have dealt with the simple grief, but it was very, very different from this.

"I do not think you can imagine… there is a Force-bond between you and your wife? If so, I hope none of you will ever experience this…"

While her vows as a sister of the Eight Arrows Sect precluded her from drinking, Chassella nevertheless was surprised at seeing such a casual and kind side of the legendary Nighthaunter, even if his latent killer instincts periodically seemed to simmer to the surface beneath the handsome mask of “Jason”. However, to an extent she knew that many assassins were like him, especially those who specialized in undercover operations, who were capable of switching from one persona to another in the blink of an eye. While Chassella was not trained as an undercover operative, she could relate due to the fact that she tended to present a more serene demeanor when facing her superiors and members of the public, in contrast to the more casual attitude she tended to adopt when with sisters of her rank.

“I will just have Sprite, please.” Chassella said to the bartender, giving Jason a grateful smile at his offer to pay for her drink.

From there, the Elzeri glanced at the pair of ladies by the pair, her eyes briefly taking in the suit-clad form of the Confederate Exarch and the King of Illyria, Adron Malvern, before he left the bar. She could only presume that the two women who had accompanied him were an escort of some kind, but their athletic forms hinted that they were far more capable than their stunning appearances let on.

“I think it won’t hurt to make some casual conversation with them.” She whispered to Jason. Both of the assassins were well aware of the conflicts that had transpired between the Agents of Chaos and the Confederacy. As such, Chassella did not linger on the issue, in spite of the tension that might have still existed between the two rival parties.

“This is a fun night!” Chassella said to the two women ( Taiia Locke Taiia Locke Jan Beroya Jan Beroya ) in a cheerfully girlish tone, a few moments after the Exarch made his departure. “Are you two enjoying yourselves? A shame that they don’t have any...glitter here, for the celebration. I enjoy the sparkling decorations. They are always so pretty.” The diminutive elf added with a coy frown.

HARSH TRUTHS

"I am afraid you will learn that with command comes a major shortage of privacy." The man retorted to her comment about wishing to be alone. His hands were clasped over his walking cane as the woman spoke. She spoke of her late husband and the late Emperor and Adron had to admit there was much death surrounding her. When the woman spoke about Adron and how he may not have felt her pain he could not help but chuckle softly at her words. "Excuse me." He held a hand up to pardon himself. "I'm sorry, I spent a great deal of my own life in such a...state." He said, gesturing to the woman from head to toe as if to make a point. "I was interested in seeing the true Empress."
"Imagine my disappointment to find such weakness." He said, tapping his walking cane in a motion to gain her attention. "I may no longer hold the title of Eternal Vizier, yet I would like to offer you some advice, for you to take it or cast away as you wish."
"Your husband is dead. Tragic but your sulking will not improve the matter. He left you a son? Love the boy and cherish what is left of your late husband. My brother is dead, less tragic. Yet he left you a son as well." The Exarch held his hands up to gesture to the walls around him. "This Empire is the only thing my brother ever sired to fruition." He said softly. "If it dies in your arms he would be very disappointed."
The Sith Lord returned to his drink, taking it into his hand and taking a drink from the glass. He enjoyed the taste of the red before turning his amethyst eyes back to Ingrid. "Find solace in what you have and find motivation in what is lost. That or throw yourself out of that window and embrace the Force in its purest form." He emptied the wine glass before bowing his head politely to the woman, in like fashion of when he arrived.
"Thank you for the invitation. The service was lovely."

As if she didn't know what it meant. She had had time to get used to it since she had to occupy the regent position. Before that, she could stay in the shadows where she was feeling really good, but then had to step forward into the light. Should have taken the advice of AMCO AMCO and looked for someone who could be put on the throne as a puppet emperor. Someone who would have been accepted by the army.

"You can only see half of it, don’t try to pretend, Darth Malphas as if you know me."

She had already said this in her usual cold voice, the grief disappeared from her face and eyes, she let go of her legs and stood up from the ground to face the man. The “transformation” lasted only a few moments and had the effect of being the most natural thing in the world. It used to be almost a gray little mouse who wanted to disappear, but now it was her usual, determined radiance that was “visible” that made her a strong military leader and a cold, determined Empress. There was no sign of pain, no longer felt, she looked into the man's amethyst eyes with her own cold blue ones.

"Add the former to what you see now, that is the reality. If you think I’m just acting in front of you, I have to disappoint you, I don’t."

Voice is still cold and military. She wasn’t acting, didn’t play a role, it was her too, her parents’ legacy, fire and ice in one person. Only the fire - which was now just embers due to mourning - could be seen by very few. Didn't react when the man said he had spent most of his life like that. A frosty smile appeared on her lips for a fraction of a moment, then disappeared as it appeared.

"If I were weak, the Eternal Empire could have already sought a new ruler. More specifically, this would be the coronation of the new Overlord, not mine."

That was true if she had been weak and her grief, her depression stronger than her sense of duty, she would have already followed AMCO AMCO to the Netherworld, completely and not just with the little piece of soul left behind with her husband to take care of him. Never thought that Tacitus had thought of the Eternal Empire that way, she always thought it was just a tool in the man's hands to accomplish his goals. Ingrid, on the other hand, had more than that, maybe she was the one who really looked at the Empire as a child.

"The Eternal Empire will not die under my hand. Like I said, you don't know me. For me, work and the Empire are more important than my private life and myself, or even my future children. Even if everything around me collapses in my private life, the Empire will only see the strong leader and the fact I will fight for the Empire until my last breath."

Another truth; Ingrid regretted a little, the work and the Empire was always the first for her, not her husbands, but both men understood and accepted it. It was she, the workaholic, whose work is most important. Somewhere it might have been a little sad, especially that someone was waiting for her at home, she had a family and she wasn’t alone.

"Even if I, as an individual, am not well, the Empire will feel nothing of it, Lord Malvern, because their leader and her sense of duty is strong!" Said still in a still cold voice, without emotions.

THE NIGHT

The King found some comfort in the way Ingrid's temper was sparked. Her sorrow momentarily replaced by a still coldness that for him, was more amusing than convincing. He knew her kind. Cold, calculating, yet loved harder than most others in the galaxy. He had seen it before in the woman who had been closest to him save for his wife, his partner in all things war and politics, Srina Talon Srina Talon . Of course these two were completely different, Srina Talon was as a simple day of snow that could swallow you into its cold clutches and force you to drift into the welcomed sleep of oblivion. The Eternal Empress? Ice, a barren tundra with death behind every corner and when it chose to take you, you would be wholly unsuspecting.

Now that he'd been assured that there was no lost will within the woman, he'd seen his task done. He did not care to argue or upset Ingrid any further. He did have some capability of tact when needed. He turned out of the room, his eyes gazing back to Ingrid with a curious expression. "We will see. Remember, you are the Empire now. Empires must always be strong, yes?" He said in an asking tone before nodding his head and stepping out of the room without another thought.

Once in the hall he let off a soft exhale before making his way back to the main foyer. He'd done enough dallying and was interested to see what his companions had gotten themselves into.

He moved down the hall, his cane echoing softly with each step he took away from the Empress and the privacy she had been seeking.
