    • Approx. 10,000 Military and Civilian Shipbuilding Personnel (Construction, Cargo, Maintenance, etc.)
    • Approx. 9,000 Chandrilan Marines
    • Numerous Construction, Security, and Support Droids
  • Height (Central Column): 5000 meters
  • Diameter (Largest Ring): 2200 meters
  • Accessibility: First and foremost an asset of Chandrila’s military and defense forces, access to the shipyards is kept under intense security by numerous screening procedures and a stationed defensive flotilla.
  • Description: A towering tribute to the resilience of Chandrila’s Defense Force, Concordance has been designated Chandrila’s primary means of military ship production. It is composed of three large rings (for purposes of habitation, docking, cargo storage, hanger storage, repair drone storage, and the production of small starfighters) and a section of four outward construction docks (for the creation of capital and support ships), all surrounding a 5000 meter tall column (playing host to command and control facilities, material storage, technology testing facilities, reactor control, and officer quarters). The station as a whole is located on the lagrange point between Chandrila and its moon of Chandra; secured by the canceling-out of the two bodies’ respective gravitational pulls, it is tethered firmly in position, forgoing the risk of being drawn toward either astronomical object.

POINTS OF INTEREST
  • Central Column - CIC: The point of control and coordination for Concordance Shipyards and its surrounding assets, the CIC represents a wide, circular room, filled to the brim with workstations and consoles linked to the shipyard’s array of scanners and communication facilities.
  • Central Column - Testing Bay: The designated home of invention for Concordance and its surrounding space, the shipyard’s testing bay is responsible for devising and proving the efficiency of the newest technologies for integration into Chandrila’s developing starfleet.
  • Outer Construction Yards: While starfighters are assembled within the confines of the Concordance rings, the grandiose capital ships for which it gains its renown are assembled in the Construction Yards. Designated CY-1, CY-2, CY-3, and CY-4, the external units play host to an assortment of towering cranes, tractor beam arrays, drone housings, and docking umbilicals.
  • Aurek Ring: The ring section closest to the “top” of the shipyard’s superstructure, Aurek Ring plays host to the majority of the facility’s personnel quarters, and various living amenities. In addition, it contains a limited number of hangar bays for visiting craft, but not in the scope the lower Cresh Ring does.
  • Besh Ring: Besh ring, the second ring section from the shipyard’s uppermost deck, plays host to the facility’s arrays of starfighter production facilities. Housed behind shielded hangar doors are vast spaces lined with conveyors and towering mechanical arms; there are six of these sections lining the rim of Besh Ring, capable of manufacturing a total of 240 starfighters in less than a week.
  • Cresh Ring: Bottommost of the three major rings, Cresh Ring’s day-to-day activities typically concern the unloading of cargo from regular Chandrilan supply runs. The ring possesses six major hangar bays for the purposes of receiving inbound shuttlecraft, with six smaller hangars reserved to carry the shipyard’s defensive air wing. For larger craft, Cresh Ring provides several sets of docking ports.
SECURITY
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
It was a grand plan years in the making. Since the day Chandrila broke from the One Sith’s terrible occupation, discussions of reinforcing their planet's defenses were ignited amongst the higher echelons of Defense Command. Among the strategic blueprints they’d draw up during a long period of rebuilding, was the creation of
Concordance. An augmentation to the shipbuilding capabilities of the existing Nadiri Dockyards, the planned facility would represent something closer to home– stationed in closer proximity to the planet's sphere of influence and protection--, the output of which the recovering Chandrilan Defense Force could claim as their own. For years, the plan would spread amongst bureaucrat and officer alike, excess materials placed in storage in anticipation of Concordance’s construction.

When the Alliance’s Stygian Campaign against the One Sith came to an end with the fiery death of the Empire, the Chandrilan admiralty pounced. Partway through a new period of peace and security, the materials they’d kept in reserve would be molded into the first of the Concordance Rings, designated Besh. The new facility, staffed with a sizable array of starfighter production facilities, was chained to a flotilla of tugboats, towed from its former station in Chandrila’s orbit to a lagrange point between the latter and its moon, Chandra. In this pocket of motionless, undisturbed void, where the gravitational pulls of the two astronomical objects canceled out to form a region untouched by their respective influences, Besh Ring would be free to expand, without the repeated use of correctional thrusters to maintain its position in space.

And so, with the location of Besh established, and the ring anchored in place, Chandrila began the next phase of the Concordance Project. To anchor the two additional planned rings, the Nadiri Dockyards would be tasked with assembling the towering central column; the section was soon lifted from its berth, carried over to the first Chandrila-Chandra lagrange point and affixed to the existing Besh Ring. Half a year later, Aurek Ring would be assembled and similarly tugged into position, equipped with rows upon rows of crew quarters for the assembly yard’s growing population. Cresh Ring came next; the product of another half-year of labor, it would be tasked with storing the majority of the shipyard’s resource stockpile, necessitating the installment of a series of dedicated cargo turbolifts in the column superstructure.

In this form, the project was all but complete. Its final components were assembled within three months of tireless effort. The four construction yards for which Concordance would garner its fame were equipped with massive industrial cranes, bays overflowing with construction drones, and arrays of tractor beam projectors to steady vessels as the process of assembly went by. Establishing the shipyard’s most recognizable form, these units were welded and suspended at the lower rim of the column. After which, Concordance Fleet Shipyards would be declared complete in the year 870 ABY, now present for the emerging Second Great Hyperspace War, its history once again placed under the influence of bloodshed.

Amidst the darkness, the light of Concordance would shine; its adamant vow to muster the fleets that would finally put an end to the chaos beyond.
