DESCRIPTION

Even Dark Masters need to make money somehow. With the disbandment of the Inquisition and the implosion of the Atrisian Empire, Sumiko was freed from her leash, but also cut off from Imperial funds. She spent some time as a private contractor, selling her skill as a fighter, spy and Sith sorceress to the highest bidder. As her ambition grew, she entered into a partnership with Darth Shadow, who offered to pass on his knowledge of Sith alchemy and sorcery to her in return for assistance. Denon was chosen as a headquarters because the planet is covered by a megacity, which means there's a lot of customers and plenty of anonymity.


Naturally both had their own motivations, but for the time being the arrangement suited both. After Shadow's apparent death at the hands of Siobhan Kerrigan, Sumiko took charge. Since most of the Sith's minions were droids and Illyria fell in line, the takeover was quite smooth. Officially, Eidolon & Supplies Transport sells antiques and valuable art, operating under a rather mundane cover. Its real purpose is to create and sell items constructed with Sith alchemy to those who desire them. Of course, this means that discretion is very important, especially since Sith have a rather poor reputation in the current political climate.


Sumiko vets all customers herself and makes most items herself. The business is small, but has potential for growth. Since it's a business run by a rather amoral lady whose main concern is profit, it does not turn away customers for violating moral standards or otherwise discriminate. Commissions are handled discreetly and professionally. The workshop is not publicly associated with Sumiko Tanaka, who runs it under an alias and employs techniques such as Force Clouding and Force Concealment to obscure her true alignment. The Dark Eldorai Illyria acts as as troubleshooter, 'acquisition specialists' and assistant in the alchemical creation process. The items created by the workshop tend to be of a rather dark nature, which means that darksiders are the likeliest customers.

RATIONALE


In a Galaxy of innumerable worlds, there is a power far mightier than the Force or fleets of battlecruisers: The Almighty Credit. Even Dark Masters require a source of income, even if that is generated via pillaging. In order to achieve this, Sumiko Tanaka agreed to become Darth Shadow's partner when he invested his funds into the creation of a private workshop that would sell artefacts and alchemised devices, which tallied with her own interests.


Unfortunately, their partnership was cut short when Shadow was seemingly killed in his duel with the Dark Jedi Siobhan Kerrigan, leaving Sumiko the sole owner. After coopting Shadow's apprentice Illyria, Sumiko has taken the reins. Sumiko has a passion for arcana and studied the teachings of Sorzus Syn since acquiring her holocron during a quest. Through her time with the Witchmasters, Sumiko gained a basic understanding of the creation process for Dathomiri amulets and talismans. More recently, the Sith Lady managed to expand her influence by duping the members of a apocalyptic cult, the Covenant of Uriel, into believing that she was their prophesied saviour. In the process, she convinced them to make her their leader and purchase her products.

DESCRIPTION
The Ta'jar Blood Gang initially built the boutique hotel as part of a moneylaundering scheme, from the very beginning, where the crime ring was routinely overbilled to get the hotel to completion, and even after it opened its doors, the hotel was staffed with slaves the gangsters took. Due to the mistreatments suffered under the hands of the Ta'jars, turnover was high; nevertheless, the hotel remained profitable thanks to a draconian cancellation policy whereby one night was forfeited if the cancellation took place at least 30 days before the booking date and the entire stay would be charged for no-shows and for cancellations that took place less than 30 days before the booking date. In addition, the hotel was laundering money via another route, with the crime ring running the hotel's outdoor 25m swimming pool like a hippodrome, holding swimming race nights several times a week and laundering money by means of gambling, with the races themselves being held fair and square.

When the Silver Jedi order seized the hotel from the Ta'jar Blood Gang, the hotel comprised 20 luxury rooms and 9 executive suites, today appointed using the amenity standards in use in 5-star hotels, and also a five-star restaurant, Bumba's Eatery, with other amenities, such as a concierge/valet service, a business center with conference room, a fitness center in the basement, and a boutique area for fine shopping. The Crown Nebula is currently the only five-star hotel on Trandosha. With the next round of upgrades made, the hotel comprises 40 luxury rooms, 16 executive suites and two Imperial Suites, for a total of 58 rooms that can be rented out, with a bar on the fourth floor.

RATIONALE
Initially, Varindar was a receptionist at the hotel, as well as a one of the hotel's swimmers attached to the hotel's pool. When the Ta'jar Blood Gang's moneylaundering scheme was uncovered, the Silver Jedi Order seized the hotel from the crime ring. Afterwards, it scrambled to find someone that could act as the general manager of the Crown Nebula by combing the staff in the hotel's payroll at the time and Varindar was reluctantly placed in that position. Once she assumed the position, the Order gave her a virtual carte blanche to run the hotel according to her wishes, and so she tried her hardest to make sure the hotel would actually meet the standards expected of a five-star hotel. She then swore to run it as a refuge of integrity and transparency in a jungle of scum and villainy.

DESCRIPTION

Following the death of Anaya Fen, Apoleia Inc was inherited by her daughter Calina, having worked side by side with Anaya for a number of years the business and its operations were already familiar to the girl and with her own company under her belt running it was hardly a challenge for her. Merging Lina Industries and Apoleia Inc to form Lina Incorporated Calina is already placing her own stamp on the business by repurposing former smugglers into test pilots and other lawful roes in order to wash away the stain of her mother's meddling.

Calina set about the restructure with an iron fist, knowing her mother had neglected it in her later years due to insanity and the Board of Directors had taken some liberties of their own to fill their pockets, removing smuggling entirely from the business operations, refurbishing many of the establishments in order to attract a higher level of clientele and changing the focus of the business towards entertainment and production, though she still likes to keep an ear to the ground out of curiosity more than a desire for power.

Ship and Droid design are to take the lead in pulling profits into the business, with the majority of the production coming out of Lina Station. Ships and Droids are designed for the Open Market though private manufacturing requests will be considered. Though Calina herself is affiliated with the Sith Empire, her company is not and she hopes to keep it that way.

The company's owner Rex Taff is always happy to see people no matter what the time and as such many of his employees act the same usually going out of their way to help others who require it. A select few know what the company really exists for to find out what the ancient eye is up to and how to combat them best.

Rex saw an opportunity in the business of Droid making and vehicle construction. Thru several political connections including one to Kaine Australis he was allowed to set up shop on westralis. His work was well known enough that people began ordering droids as soon as his doors opened. The main reason for this however is so Rex can produce the necessary equipment to find out what is going on in the galaxy that needed his attention.

DESCRIPTION

Aegis it's the brain child of Muad Dib. The focus behind the start of the company is to supply support craft/military units/raw material to paying customers
~The first aspect is in offering versatile craft that can be utilized in varying avenues from personal ships, military engagement support craft, or even as freighters/haulers with the ability to protect one's self and cargo.
~The second aspect is the mining facility allowing the company to use internal sources to lower production costs while also selling raw material to buyers which creates an influx of revenue.
~The third aspect is based in part by Muad's time spent as a pirate with the Marauders and as a Mandalorian. Security units that can be given a contract that uses a third party for a plethora of reasons including plausible deniability, augmentation of defenses, or additional offensive capabilities.



RATIONALE

Having been steeped in warfare his entire life, Muad had learned the importance of military diversity. His time as a Sith saw him hiring external forces to supplement the Darkside Order's own might. As a pirate and mercenary leader he gained perspective that many factions/governments used third parties that could be used and discarded for a price. As a Mandalorian he was part of several raiding parties, bounty hunts, and support units for those willing to pay the price.

Now as a member of the CIS he has the opportunity to not only put down roots but to unite and consolidate the differing aspects of his past into a single vision, one behind the Aegis Corporation.

Description:

With the desire to consolidate and restructure the vast conglomerate that is Arceneau Trade, Danger Arceneau reviewed the original purchase of Blas Tech and found that owning two distinct weapons manufacturers was not conducive to economic growth and financial viability. Miss Felicia Simmons, with her fantastic worth ethic, would remain as CEO of the newly renamed company under the guidance of Danger Arceneau.

With that in mind, the production of Blas Tech products was realigned to be produced by Browncoat Arms, who had a larger distribution and expansive facilities to welcome the shift.

DESCRIPTION

Tricks of the Trade is a growing Outlaw Tech operation based in the district slums of the bustling ecumenopolis that is Terminus, specialising in the development and sale of unconventional weapons and technology that could hypothetically be considered less-than-strictly-legal in most civilised sectors of the galaxy.

As discretion is an obvious concern in this particular line of business, the workshop is cunningly concealed beneath a fast food diner and noodle bar, with the main entrance located behind the facade of an out of service refrigeration unit in the diner’s basement. An additional access point feeds in from the disused access tunnels that form a veritable labyrinth beneath the distract, taking full advantage of the nearly forgotten routes of the Terminus era prohibitionists of the late 700s.

Unfortunately, such privacy comes at a hefty price on square footage, with the workshop itself being an extremely cramped, somewhat dingy bunker like affair. In colloquial terms, it could be described as being ‘barely large enough to swing a Loth-cat’, but that’s assuming you really weren’t particularly fond of said feline. What it lacks in space, it more than makes up in utility, however. Being full equipped with a variety of tools, gadgets and computer systems to handle a variety of projects.


RATIONALE

Tricks of the Trade was established as an independent side project of Dashiell Kessler, aimed primarily to help fund his chosen lifestyle and facilitate his love of tinkering. The business itself is a fairly modest, private endeavor that caters almost exclusively to clients gained by word of mouth, filling perhaps no more than half a dozen orders at any one point in time.

Rationale: When the memories of nationalization under the cruel tyranny of the One Sith had faded, the Republic Engineering Corporation had successfully reclaimed their holdings in the Coruscant system. As one oppressive government was swapped out for another, although preaching the ideals of freedom, the Company was permitted to continue its operations on the orbiting moon of Centax-2. It was there that the company resided, along with their surface-based foundries in the Works District, producing warships and war material for those that would eventually replace the Galactic Alliance, and invested parties thereafter.

Description: In the days of yore, when the galaxy was younger, and the dream of peace burned bright, some lost soul had founded the Republic Engineering Corporation shortly after the first death of the Emperor Palpatine. From there, the legend had grown. Lando Calrissian himself was a patron, taking the best and brightest minds that the contracted company had to offer, and created the Shieldships from their blessed union. When the newly birthed government, the New Republic, had called for a modernization program to overhaul their aging fleet, it was said that the REC had spearheaded the New-Class effort, producing many vessels to serve within the Republic Navy for generations. In the period following the defeat of the Imperial Grand Admiral Thrawn, much of the recorded information was lost- due in part to the widespread/pan-galactic infection known to many as the Gulag Plague.

While the sentient workers had succumbed to the weakness of their flesh and blood, the Automatons installed within both the Orbital and Surface-based facilities watched on as the people of Coruscant struggled to survive. Nearly four hundred cycles had passed, and the Corporate Machines were watchers no longer. Sentient life had surged back into the fore, and those that survived the epidemic sought to reclaim their mastery over the stars. Thus, with the new faces entering long sealed halls, the mechanized workforce of the REC had taught these brave adventurers of their past and allowed them to carry on the torch of production, once they had proven themselves worthy of the legends.

However, as in all things, the seed of violence took hold and the stars themselves burned bright, engulfed once more in the flames of war. The Republic had fallen, and the One Sith claimed Coruscant for themselves. With their meteoric rise to dominance over the Core Worlds, many had suffered under their rule. Citizens were drafted, Machines re-purposed, and the Corporation itself had barely survived the Imperial Regime's Nationalization. Having fled the Core with much of the Company's assets in tow, those who were still loyal to the dream of great profits, taught to them by the venerable clankers, took refuge in the Outer Colonies. There, they had waited. For twelve long years, they watched the One Sith cast aside all opposition and rule without a worthy foe. That was until the Galactic Alliance had speared into the festering heart of the Core and shattered their tyrannical hold over the center of the Galaxy.

Once the news of victory had spread throughout the Outer Rim, the Republic Engineering Corporation returned to their birth world and sought to reclaim what was rightfully theirs.

In the years that followed their glorious homecoming, supplemented by the martial might of the Galactic Alliance, the Company’s fortunes had waxed and waned. There were several ventures that the organization had embarked on that yielded little returns - such as the rebuilding of several installations across the territory held by the Alliance, and the fabled second-attempt at the New Class Modernization Program. Having poured themselves into these errant projects, the newly appointed Board of Directors had forcibly shifted the company’s growth towards more prosperous venues. The most notable is the secret support of the newly formed, and galactically renowned mercenaries of the Golden Company. This compact with the Thyrsian organization had proved to be the life-saving enterprise that was needed, as with the credits earned from the deal, the Company was able to restart the New Class Program; without requiring a sponsorship from the Galactic Alliance.

As well as rebounding from the abyss of bankruptcy, the Republic Engineering Corporation had begun to reassess its restrictive customer policies. Even though there are many within the Corporation who still harbour ill will towards the Sith, the decision was made to open their doors to any and all that had sufficient credits to purchase their products. Although, in keeping with their company ideals of corporate purity, the Republic Engineering Corporation doesn’t directly deal with Criminal Syndicates, or other unsavoury Individuals. While the Company doesn’t condone the use of Shell Corporations and Front Companies, so long as the credits are good, it is a detail that the Board of Directors are willing to overlook.
