  • Organization Name: Clan Krayt
  • Classification: Mandalorian Clan
  • Affiliation: Independent | Enclave
  • Organization Symbol: Gold/Orange Krayt Dragon
  • Description: A Mandalorian clan that focuses on excellent craftsmanship during peacetime, and piracy, naval combat and raiding during wartime to hammer the enemies of the Mandalorian people.

  • Headquarters: Nomadic, on mothership and home fleet.
  • Domain: To keep a low profile, Clan Krayt only stops at Mando safe zones temporarily before setting off again.
  • Notable Assets: Sizable fleet consisting of various warships, spearheaded by their mothership. Weapons and armour supplied primarily by Maji Ironworks or whatever the members bring to the table. Notably a distinctive set of armour and collapsible shield for those who wish to use them.

  • Hierarchy: Typical Mando hierarchy sometimes interchanging with military ranking when operating on ships.
  • Membership: Any Mando or non-Mando can request to join, though they all undergo a type of screening to make sure they can be trusted and a benefit to the clan. Non-Mandalorians have the option of becoming full-fledged Mandalorians after passing their trials, and the clan knows and understands the value of having allies/connections outside of the clan. Force Users need to have a degree of control over their power, if they are aware of it. If a Force User is untrained, it is expected of them to undergo some type of training through the Mandokarla. Darksiders can expect to be treated with skepticism if they haven’t proved themselves reliable, and any Sith need to abandon their titles, alignment and loyalties to the cult if they are to be accepted into the clan. They also gladly take in foundlings, no matter the background.
  • Climate: Casual with a strong sense of family and comradery. Naval slang and occasional behaviour is an occupational hazard. Hostile towards Sith and distrustful of dark-siders. Loyalty is an extremely important aspect to the clan, above all else. The clan has a reputation of being rowdy, energetic and passionate, with an overarching questionable psychological health topped off with a love for explosives and big guns.
  • Reputation: Infamous across numerous parts of the galaxy. Through their strengths in naval and close quarters combat, clan Krayt has faced the enemies of the Mandalorian people numerous times and emerged victorious. From the Sith Empire during the days of the Mandalorian Union, all the way to Tython against the Brotherhood of the Maw. Most notably under the banner of the Enclave, clan Krayt has left a lasting impression on both allies and enemies alike. Clan Krayt’s artisans are also renowned through the Enclave for their quality work and craftsmanship.
  • Curios: Clan insignia painted on the left side of the chestplate of their armour with a pauldron painted orange or gold.
  • Rules: The clan follows the Resol’nare and teaches it to its young and/or new members, but it is not fanatically enforced as with some other clans. They focus more on the aspects of adding to the welfare of the clan, family and other Mandalorians than the rest.
  • Goals: Look out for your own, take care of one another. Never forgive and never forget. Remember the past, but focus on the future. Strive to do the best you can, if nothing else. Punish the enemies of the Mandalorian people with an iron fist. Be the shield that guards your people. Move fast, get close, strip the enemy’s advantage and annihilate them.

Clan Krayt, while not very prominent not too long ago, is an old clan with roots that trace back hundreds of years. Its founder took the name for what remained of his clan after defeating a Krayt Dragon on Tatooine, which used to be his homeworld.

The clan persisted, with sheer will and a strong distrust of force users. Over years they moved their homeworld from Tatooine to Teth, where they held strong control over the planet. Their more recent exploits, however, proved to be their downfall. A big supporter of the Mandalorian Union, Clan Krayt helped in the rebellion of Mandalore and rehabilitation of the scarred planet. But stagnation, infighting and conflicting opinions of Force Users slowly fractured the clan until it silently fell apart.

Members left their homeworld of Teth, the base fell into ruin, and the remaining members drifted aimlessly through the galaxy while trying to keep the old name alive. One of their members, an unassuming smuggler by the name of Shai Maji, made it her mission to try and get the clan back in shape.

Together with what remained, she restructured the clan and breathed new life into it, using heavy influence from her previous clan. The names of the ships, runes, and a unique dialect alongside Mando’a was thrown into the mix. Wanting to avoid past experiences of entire clans being wiped out on their homeworlds, she organized them as a nomadic clan on a large ship, not tied permanently to any planet. Being born into a family of smugglers, pirates and scoundrels, she decided to apply her way of life to the survival of the clan.

She steadily carved out a new identity, turning Clan Krayt into a clan that specializes in the deeds other Mandalorians might see as beneath them. Smuggling, raiding and sabotage became their main means of survival, targeting enemies of the Mandalorian people and her clan to break them behind their own lines. In hopes of securing a better fallback plan and foundation if things go south, she decided to ally herself and her clan with the Enclave, aiding them in their fight against the enemies of their people.

In the decades allied with the Enclave, however, clan Krayt’s fame expanded with the exploits of its members, with expert craftsmen, deadly warriors, and masterful tacticians helping to crush the enemies of the Enclave. The name began to grow along with its membership as more and more people joined, either as children or adults. Numbers began to swell into the thousands, making the clan one of the biggest in the Enclave.

Love the template, it's gorgeous! This hits everything it needs to, though I would consider adding to Reputation as time goes on and the clan's deeds multiply. They're known, sure, but for what, and among whom? Something to build on for the future. Approved.
