There is literally no reason now why every character on this board should not own like, 300 Lightsabers a piece. Every Faction on the board can now afford to host a whole armory full of lightsabers now. A thousand sabers in every color. Did you break yours? No biggie. We've got 10,000 in stock. Just grab another. Boom!

Let it be known. If your character does not have a Lightsaber, right now!? Go get one. It costs less than what it pays to fill up your Starship every weekend. No. Better yet. Buy 100 of them. Arm every single guard in your organization with one. You've got the money. We all know this.

Well I mean I can't techinically sell a lightsaber due to restrictions, but I sell everything you need! So yeah, if that's too minimal then I could knock up the price a bit. Honestly didn't know what the economy was like here so I put down something fair enough. It's nice that you brought this to my attention though. I'll keep the prices the same for today, but tonight I'll adjust them. \

I see nothing wrong with this. After centuries if not millennia, it shouldn't be that hard to mass-produce them.

[member="Alexandra Feanor"] They're not really mass-produced lighstabers, they are kits containing everything you need to build one yourself. It's fun and part of the 'traditional' lightsaber ways. I wouldn't want to step on anyone's toes and just hand them out fully made that's irresponsible.

To be Factory approved, fully constructed lightsabers can't be more than semi-unique. I've got a line of knockoffs that made it up to minor, simply because it's a limited use device that isn't as powerful as a full lightsaber and can only be activated for a few seconds.

That said, it's not improbable to have a large selection of semi-unique lightsabers that can be purchased fully made, though I would jack the price up considerably. It's not the parts that are expensive, it's the binding of everything together via the Force in what is often described as a near-alchemical process. There's nothing to stop an NFU from using one, but constructing one of quality is far beyond their skill. There's probably a niche for that, and you're in a position to fill it, my friend.

I'm confused to what your issue is?

From what I see, this is just a shop that specializes in procuring the items one may need to build their own custom made saber; one where they have the option to submit to the factory or not. ( I build components as well and sell them)

Not sure where you are getting the mass sold bit. This is a niche. Much like a specialty voodoo shop where you can get all the things you need to create a voodoo doll and get your hex on.

And if this shop wants to sell stuff at whatever price, that is their perogative. Regardless, the rules state that : "
Non-Force User characters may not start with the ability to wield a lightsaber."

So it isn't an issue at all.

I like to imagine a bit bigger than a voodoo shop but we are advertising and such to get in more customers.

No issue. I was just browsing the Market and noticed the new shop. The prices were so low that my mouth dropped. I crunched some numbers and realized that lightsabers could now be produced in bulk for only about double what a good blaster costs. And if he's got the supply and manufacturing to do it? Then, welp. Brave new world.

Which means it should now be huge Meta news for every FU and NFU in the galaxy. Anybody can buy a lightsaber for peanuts.

Because of this thread I might do a seasonal "Voodoo Sale" In memory of this thread. Probably a Halloween thing. But yeah officially I am going to raise the prices a little bit. But keeping them low will get the name passed around. I'd like to see a bunch of padawans swinging lightsabers with a little N polished into the pommel.
