OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a means of restraint for force sensitive and other dangerous prisoners that can ideally keep them sedated, pliant and generally easy to handle.
  • Canon Link: N/A.
  • Permissions: N/A.
  • Primary Source: MCI-200.
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Magnaharness: The harness is attached to the prisoner's collar and thorax, but it also included optional clips to secure the arms, hands, upper part of the legs, lower part of the legs and ankles of the prisoner. The harness used the same micro magnetic fields present in MagnaCuffs to keep the clips locked.
    • Rylith power cell
    • IFF: A Breshig War Forge Consolidated or Strill Securities employee cannot be secured in one of these devices.
    • Armor, Comm Device, Datapad or Remote: The harness ships with a remote but can shift control over to a datapad, comm device or armor. For security reasons, only one device can control the harness' functions and control can only be transferred from the current device.
    • Shock Escape Deterrent: Concurrent with the auto-tightening function, the shock escape deterrent function will shock the prisoner should they struggle against their bindings.
    • Remote Shock Function: The remote or controlling device can be used to remotely deliver a shock to the prisoner.
    • Automatic Tightening: If the prisoner struggles against their bindings, both the clips and the harness will automatically tighten short of actually breaking the prisoner's bones, though not short of cracking them.
    • Fingerprint/Identichip/Code Cylinder Lock: The harness can be locked/unlocked with fingerprint, Identichip or Code Cylinder as well as its paired remote.
    • Magnetic Stripe/Repulsor Plate: The backplate of the harness can be adhered to any surface, whether ferromagnetic or not to secure the prisoner. This can also be used to mount a 'Ysalamiri Birikad'.
    • Intradermal Injection System: The injectors are mounted on the shoulder straps of the harness and use a system of micro-sonic vibration injectors to deliver the desired chemicals directly through the skin without pain or leaving a mark. The system could also be configured for continuous feed or time release application. All drug injections can be triggered manually or are automatically injected based on certain conditions. This setting can be changed. The entire assembly is enclosed in an armored casing.
    • Medical Diagnostic Systems: The medical suite can trigger the injector to dose the prisoner with a sedative if the prisoner is left on their own and is consistent in injuring themselves. This setting can be toggled.
STRENGTHS
  • Secure: The Mircit secures the prisoner and keeps them in a state that can be more easily managed by their minders. Resistance is appropriately responded to such that prisoners are given the distinct impression that escape is nigh-on impossible.
  • Force Users: The Mircit's greatest advantage is the fact that it is able to keep even force sensitive prisoners restrained by remaining difficult to break and by greatly disrupting their connection to the force via Ixetal Cilona injections.
WEAKNESSES
  • The Force: The Mircit has no inbuilt defensive measures against the force, and is susceptible to abilities such as Mechu Deru, whether from the prisoner before the Ixetal Cilona takes effect or from another force user.
  • Only So Much: The body can take only so much, and proper use of the various features of the harness is to maintained less the prisoner become too injured to be useful or inadvertently die between their own escape attempts, the harness' response measures and the jailer's responses.
DESCRIPTION
"It's not that we plan on running into force users, just that if we ever have to take one of the shabuire prisoner they tend to be as dangerous as prisoners get."
- Shuklaar Kyrdol answering a question about the reason for the development of the 'Mircit' and its use by Strill Securities.
Designed specifically for Strill Securities and then marketed to other Mandalorians and eventually put on the market, the Mircit is a restraint harness made to restrain dangerous prisoners, including but not exclusively force users. Rather utilize Ysalamiri or voidstone, though the Mircit has an attachment point for a nutrient frame of the former, the Mircit's method of containment is by using Ixetal Cilona to greatly weaken a force user's connection to the force. Additionally, it includes a number of sedatives and paralytics to keep a prisoner easy to manage. It also includes more traditional means of discouraging escape, such as an auto-tightening function and an escape deterrent shock function.
In order to aid interrogation, especially in the field where access to specialized tools and drugs might be limited, the Mircit includes a number of enhanced interrogation serums, allowing the operator to augment their methods using the above. The integrated medical monitoring equipment prevent overdose, and also aid in determining whether the subject is being truthful or not via heart rate monitoring. Though this isn't always accurate. The medical monitoring systems can also monitor the prisoner's health to ensure that they do not end up injuring themselves too greatly in their escape attempts by dosing them with a sedative.
The harness can be operated via the included remote, a datapad, comm unit or the user's armor provided it is capable. The harness can be locked via fingerprint, Identichip or code cylinder, though for security purposes only one user can be synced to one device. Additionally, company personnel with active IFF signals can never be secured using a Mircit, though once the IFF is deactivated or removed from the company's database, the Mircit can be used. At that juncture, however, given the extensive defenses at most company facilities the rogue employee is unlikely to end up being taken alive.
The inescapable reality of the extreme nature of many of the measures used by the Mircit however is that they can take a significant toll on the body, and there's only so much most organics can take. Additionally, though it has provision for a nutrient frame, the Mircit has no defensive measures against force powers.
