So Nir was just going to play limbo with Shan's fist? Hm...He could get around that. Though he could feel his focus fading from his technique, wincing as his hand started to soften up. He'd have to head straight into his next technique before Nir had a change to try and turn the tables again, as instead of punching the Cathar, Shan would clap his hand onto Nir's shoulder, the one wielding the sword. Though now it came to the..."fun" part. Sliding his hand down the sword to grab onto Nir's hand, gritting his teeth in pain as he tried to keep a firm grip. If it wasn't for Nir's summoning ability, Shan could have just kept his grip on the sword, but Nir could have just cancelled that out.

His hand was throbbing hard. And the fact that Nir's sword had a voice wasn't something that Shan had been expecting, but whilst he might have given up in the spar by now in the past, that wasn't what he was like anymore. That's not to say he felt good about what he was about to try and do but...he just kept a firm grip on Nir's hand and shoulder, trying to keep the Cathar's arm as straight as he could...before he brought his knee up in an attempt to dislocate the elbow. Trying to pull his punch, or well in this case knee, so that he wouldn't break anything.

Ow.

Nir felt his arm go limp, the boy desummoning his sword out of instinct. But he couldn't give up. He needed to keep going. The boy swung with his other arm, going for a haymaker at Shan's face. With the overextended attempt to break his elbow, he's surely have left himself open...

Aris smiled after a moment before nodding and lifting up his blade again. Settled his own stance as he watched her. If she wanted to continue, he did too. He stepped forward before surging straight with another burst of speed to bring his blade around in a swift series of strikes this time. Single strong blows she seemed to be good at evading.

So why not try to overwhelm her with speed.

Ko Vuto Ko Vuto

Woe, a saber be upon she.

Well, not quite yet. Colette felt a sense of accomplishment in pushing her opponent to the ground, but it wasn't a victory that lasted for long before Ko retaliated again. He pulled his arm back and flung his saber for her.

Colette tried to side-step it and smack the hilt of the spinning saber with the blade of her own saber to fling it far and wide in whatever direction that gravity would take it. She felt from the balance in her footing that it wouldn't be a particularly clean hit and the question was if she would even land it to begin with. An outstretched arm and a lean made for decent reach at the cost of having poor balance.

Whether or not the hit landed married little. She moved to position herself behind Ko before he could recall the saber and get her on the way back into his hand.

This was a spar of sorts after all. There was no real victory, only a show of skill.

Unless Colette won, of course. Then it was a competition for sure.

He stepped forward before surging straight with another burst of speed to bring his blade around in a swift series of strikes this time.

Loomi's antennae twitched with anticipation, feeling the air around her. Reflex kicked in, and the padawan quickly shifted to defend from the flurry of incoming blows. She managed to keep pace, but only by a hair, sweat gathering on her forehead now as she put in the effort to keep up. It felt like she was completely outmatched here in nearly every regard. He was bigger, stronger, and likely just as fast as her. If it came down to whatever this was, the Godoan probably stood no chance at weathering the battle long-term.

So it was time to make a pivot.

Disorientation was the new plan. Loomi used her saber to force a blade-lock, using her stenght to keep his weapon in place just long enough for her to reach up her hand and...

Poke him in the nose.

Then, without any hesitation she would attempt to use her mechanical leg to sweep his feet off the ground. Hopefully he would be confused enough to fall for the strange maneuver. It was certainly worth a shot. After all, she was here to learn. Nothing was off the table in this battle, so long as they improved her skill. And were non-lethal. She cared a lot about that.

Oh. Shan suddenly felt at one with the rotation of the moon as Nir's fist connected with Shan's face. Wait no, that was just the place spinning around him. He could also taste something coppery in his mouth but Shan kept his balance, even though he was rocking back and forth. He had taken worse hits than that! Or at least...he thought he had. Thinking was hard for him right now which is why Shan just rushed for Nir, throwing himself down at the Cathar's legs to try and take him down to the ground.

"Wha-"

She'd been rather unpredictable this whole spar. Throwing her lightsaber, using her feet to grab hold of him and throw him around. He hadn't expected any of it. And yet, he didn't even fathom she'd boop his nose mid clash. The only thing that wasn't surprising was the fact he was, once again, on the ground and staring up at the ceiling. This time with an even more bewildered expression on his face.

"You fight very differently from what I expected people to fight like."

He stayed on his back, but smiled after a moment.

"It's very surprising."

The comment about her success Padawans training Padawans was rewarded with a grateful smile. Of all the things she had accomplished as a Jedi, that was perhaps what she felt most proud of. To help a new generation grow, and shape bonds that would last until the very end. Each Padawan had already made her so proud, and she couldn't wait to see how much more they were going to develop themselves.

One day, they'd hopefully be in her postion.

"Dancing isn't all too different, so I'm sure you'd do just fine," Valery then replied with a slight smirk, before she watched him assume his stance. There was a slight pause and a raised eyebrow when his lightsaber seemed to malfunction, but a good smack caused the blade to ignite anyway. "You... might want to have that looked at," Valery said with a chuckle. It'd be a problem if it stopped working entirely in the middle of a real fight.

Finally, Avin assumed a familiar stance, and Valery decided to test the waters. With her body calm and her mind focused, she accelerated towards him, and swept her blade into a tight arc to cut up diagonally from his left hip to the right shoulder. She wasn't throwing everything into it, and expected him to defend himself as well.

They were merely warming up, for now

Braze, maintaining his focus and agility, responded to Nathan's rapid counterattacks with a blend of deft footwork and quick reflexes. He recognized the shift in Nathan's strategy, noting the increased strength and altered angles of his attacks. Braze adjusted his own approach accordingly, aware of the heightened risk in closing the distance.

As Nathan spoke of his past sacrifices, Braze's expression softened, reflecting empathy. The weight of Nathan's words resonated with him, revealing a depth of experience and pain that went beyond the sparring match.

He moved quickly to widen their distance after Nathan became more the aggressor. Braze was rather adept at playing touch and go applying cat and mouse te

"It sounds like you've been through a lot. Sacrifices... they shape us, but they can also haunt us. I can't pretend to understand what you've been through, but I respect the strength it takes to carry such burdens."

Braze paused for a moment, considering his next move both in the conversation and the spar. "I believe every choice, every sacrifice, teaches us something. Maybe it's about ourselves, maybe about the world."

With a respectful nod, Braze readied himself to continue the spar, his stance relaxed yet alert. "Let's keep going. I'm learning a lot from you, not just about fighting, but about resilience too."

Avin seemed to dial in on her movements, tracking the woman as she approached him. His front foot shifted around the toes of his shoe as the rear lifted and he took a pace backwards. He watched the flash of her lightsaber slice in a well-practised arc toward his body and in that moment twisted his wrist downwards with a bend in his elbow to intercept the incoming swipe with a wide arc of his own weapon sweeping the clashing blades up towards the ceiling then giving more distance between the two as he stepped back recentring his stance and striking in riposte with a downwards cut towards her torso.

Vera took the advice about handling Trakata to heart, but then squinted at the other Padawan. She was more experienced, taller and stronger, so Vera just felt like she was getting baited into attacking. An entirely defensive approach wouldn't end well for her either, sure, but getting too chaotic would be a very swift end of this spar.

No, she had to be clever.

Stepping back, Vera shifted her focus on the defensive, while Eloise attacked with some very aggressive style. She was no lightsaber expert, but she knew the brief summary of what each Form was about — this had to either be Ataru or one of Form VII's variants. Either way, such aggressive and fast-paced attacks were far more demanding than her more careful approach. Maybe she could exploit weaknesses this way, though the balance was still off.

Maybe she needed to try more dirty tricks and bait her.

"Your purple hair looks weird!" she called out, but blinked when it didn't really land too well. Dun Moch was harder than it seemed. So, hoping that Eloise wouldn't kill her for the insult, Vera backed off again and raised her guard, "Come and get me if you want some fun!"

Vera continued her retreat, then… made an attempt at Dun Möch? Eloise paused her relentless assault and gave the girl an unimpressed look. “Bold words for someone with a haircut like yours.” As one of seven siblings, she had dished out her fair share of childish insults. “Forget the bowl cut, you got the square box cut! You’re thirteen years old, how about you stop letting your mom cut your hair?”

Not only was Vera’s banter game weak, it was a little too obvious that she was up to something. Eloise debated whether she should take the bait anyway—after all, she’d given this poor child Ls the whole session, and she didn’t want her to walk away discouraged… Nah, feth giving her what she wanted. She was supposed to earn her victory, not have it handed to her.

“Got anything better than that?” she asked, waiting.

"You fight very differently from what I expected people to fight like."

"It's very surprising."

Loomi walked over with a smile, reaching out her hand to help Aris to his feet.

"I do what I can," she told him. "I'm not getting any bigger I think, so I gotta work with what I have. Differently has been good for me, I think."

Whenever she did help him up, her curiosity would shift. He had been unnaturally fast, even for it to just be an organic thing. It was something she hadn't quite been able to pull off yet, and she had only been able to keep up due to her sensory organs. She couldn't help but wonder what he had done.

"How did you do the... the fast thing," Loomi asked. "Was that Vaapad? That's the fast one, right?"

Valery grinned a little as she watched muscle memory take over. Being rusty could happen to the best Jedi, and she was certainly going to get rusty once her pregnancy no longer allowed her to train. But some skills couldn't simply be unlearned, and she had a feeling that with just the right input, he'd find his true rhythm rather quickly. Perhaps even fast enough for her to throw some real curveballs at him.

There was no winning in sparring, but it was exciting to attempt some

The opening slash had been deflected, with both blades rising as a result. Much like him, Valery stepped back to create some distance, and pivoted on her feet to turn her body away from the incoming strike. Her blade came up to deflect it, hoping to let his blade pass by her side, before she lunged forward.

The tip of her blade shifted up to point towards his center of mass, and with a quick thrust, she hoped to push the tip into his gut.

"I can't actually use Vapaad."

Ah. He hadn't even thought about that. What other forms would he actually be unable to use if he couldn't use the Force in the way needed? Vapaad, Niman. The thoughts had him frown visibly. Not in disappointment, though it was possible it looked like that, but in true thinking. He'd have to double down on learning those forms at least theoretically if he was going to become a Battlemaster like mom.

If he couldn't teach in practice, he'd at least teach in theory.

"I'm just really strong. And fast. It's all I can do, really. Oh, well no. I can do this too." He held up a hand, and slowly it deepened in a reddish color. Then brightened, like a flame. Which, in a way, it was. It gave off intense heat. "I can't use the Force outside my body, is what they said. They're not really sure why, but I just can't feel the Force like you likely can."

Ko hadn't really anticipated his saber throw would do much. Other than really to maintain some pressure on Colette and keep her from instantly capitalizing on his vulnerable position. Quickly after chucking the training saber Ko would follow up with a kip-up. Getting himself back onto his feet. But it didn’t really matter a whole lot now.

Once he got back up Ko let out a slight huff from his mask. Sensing that Colette was now behind him. Even though she was well out of his normal field of view he could see clearly through The Force. Perhaps if Ko would utilize his shoto he would still have a way to keep up. But for now he stuck to only using the training saber instead. “Welp, you got me. Nice work Miss Colette.” Ko said as he turned to face him. Acknowledging her success here in their sparring.

The kel dor held his clawed hand off to the side some. Summoning the training saber’s hilt back into his clutches. Perhaps Ko could’ve kept fighting through the use of The Force. But he didn’t think it would be appropriate to possibly tear apart the room just to stay competitive. Ko then dreaded the idea that word of his saber throw just now would reach Jonyna and incur her judgment.

"Blaming it on the youngling's instructors? how despicable!" Silas said with a smirk as he watched him place the blade into his mouth. It was an unusual stance had not yet come up against before, he needed to be extra careful and read all of his movements to a tee if he was going to win this bout.

Taking a step back, he kept the arm behind his back and kept the saber low. Silas was going to dodge and weave as much as possible, preferably keeping defending with his lightsaber to a minimum. Jasper might have been offering up many holes in his defense by having the saber between his teeth. However, there was always the possibility of being completely wrong.

As soon as Jasper swung the first strike Silas used his speed to keep himself away from the saber. Seeing the strike at his torso and head, the knight would suddenly fall to one knee and instantly swing his leg around to try and sweep him off his feet.

Then, with a quick kickup to his feet, he'd use the opportunity to stab downwards toward the chest of Jasper.

In all truth Avin was by some estimates not quite completely out of practice with his weapon. There had been a variety of times during his self-imposed exile that the old warrior had brought about the force of violence when necessary. Such was the realities of the galaxy they all existed within. Even so most of the events that had required him to use such a weapon had often been against those not bearing an equal and especially not those honed to the same levels as the opponent he now faced. It was one thing to deflect a blaster shot or disarm an assailant with a quick slash, it was something else entirely to undergo the focused art of a true duel. Nevertheless that first deflection had gone well and he had managed to make it past the opening strike without embarrassing himself all that much. What it had done, however, was force him into his first mistake. His own slash had come from a point of convenience more so than any proper planning or guidance for technique and it had left him vulnerable.

The major issue he now had to contend with was the fact that his slash, and her subsequent dodge of that attack, had left his weapon committed to the attacking profile. As such she had managed to move within his guard and the sentinel had very little in the way of truly defending himself from the thrust that rapidly approached his midsection. By the time the Jedi had figured this out, it was already too late. He began to turn his body sideways away from the shining beam of energy but was just too slow to match the far more skillfully placed strike of the New Jedi Orders battle master. He let out a small grunt as the training blade caught his right side while mid turn. In a true fight it would likely not have been a lethal blow but such a thing was not the point here. He should never of let it happen.

Steadying his temperament he took a step back and lowered his weapon in a salute.

"Well struck." He let out with another bow of his head. Stepping back again to reset.

Now they were just wrestling. Knocked on his ass, Nir almost felt like he was back on Cathar, playing with other kits. But he couldn't let that distract him. He still had one arm, and a will to fight. Quickly shifting his position under Shan, he wrapped his legs around Shan's chest, before throwing his good arm over Shan's right shoulder, wrenching it back, while Nir used his tail to push himself up, trying to shift the weight so that he was on top of Shan.

Silas dropped to his knees and swiped at his legs. He already seemed ready to capitalize on tripping him, but Jasper hadn't spent the last some-odd years after the war doing nothing. With the force weaker for him than most, lightsabers were his domain. He shifted to Ataru, this time with his blade poised to strike mid-air as he flipped over his opponent.

And, if he could manage, he'd get in a sneaky jab whenever he landed as well.

"My Mom doesn't cut my hair!"

As clever as Vera could be whenever she had embarrassed some other Padawans, she was terrible at dishing out insults with the intent to be mean. She also wasn't great at being on the receiving end of it, so when Eloise asked if she had anything better than that, Vera tapped into the Force, and it surged under her will.

With a swing of her arm, she sent a whole wave of training ligthsabers flying from the racks towards Eloise. She hoped to pelt the older Padawan with the metal cylinders, and if that wasn't quite enough, she figured it'd at least be an annoying distraction. With her green blade drawn, Vera closed the distance with more speed and more aggression than before.

Just to batter away at Eloise to try and shut her up.
