SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Continuing the variable design philosophy of Aurora Industries, the Valefor Laser Cannon is designed with three different firing modes that a gunnery crew member or fighter pilot can switch between with a toggle switch that slots in to the appropriate ammunition canister:
    • The Standard Laser Loadout utilizes standard Sianteria gas canisters to create slightly stronger than standard laser cannon bolts.
    • The Particle Cannon Loadout utilizes Spin-sealed Sianteria gas canisters to create a more unstable particle bolt that explodes upon contact with a surface or energy field.
    • The Pulse Cannon Loadout utilizes Sianteria plasma canisters to create fusion plasma rounds that are fired at a very high rate of fire that can inflict serious damage on deflector shields and armor plating, melting through the armor.
  • The Valefor Laser Cannon can be configured into any style aesthetic, based on the ship being constructed, and can also be configured into any layout such as single laser cannons, twin cannons, turrets, and so forth.
STRENGTHS
  • The Valefor Laser Cannon can switch between three different firing loadouts at the discretion of the gunners or pilot by toggling through their available ammunition options.
  • An internal Ramuh-II Power Core allows the Valefor to be independent of a ship's reactor core, allowing gunnery crews or fighter pilots to fire the weapons even if the main reactors are sabotaged or disabled. With the upgrade from the Ramuh-II, power flow is more efficient and enables the necessary power needs for the various fire loadouts of the Valefor.
WEAKNESSES
  • The Valefor, much like its predecessor the Leamonde, has a higher recoil due to the increased damage output caused by the Sianteria gas and plasma utilized in the weapon.
  • If the preservation field capsule fails or the device is sabotaged within the Ramuh-II core, the crystal within sublimated immediately into its plasma state, reducing the power output of the device by roughly half until a new crystal capsule is installed. This reduces the damage output of all the laser cannon's firing loadouts by one stage.
DESCRIPTION

The first weapon system to be designed by Aurora Industries' Aeon Program, the AI-LC4 "Valefor" Laser Cannon is designed as the company's fourth-generation laser cannon for their starships. Beginning life as an updated Leamonde Laser Cannon, with the team utilizing the new Ramuh-II power cores to achieve better power flow and efficiency, the Aeon Program's design team wanted to further embrace the philosophy of the company of combining versatility and enhanced stopping power. The standard loadout of the Valefor was similar to the Leamonde, using a Sianteria gas canister combined with the new power core to fire slightly stronger laser cannon bolts.

In creating the Valefor's secondary loadout, the team experimented with spin-sealing Sianteria gas to replace the standard tibanna gas from the previous cannon, then modifying the internal components of the cannon so when the pilot or gunner switches to the this ammunition canister, the laser cannon acts more as a particle cannon. The spin-sealed gas creates a more powerful, if unstable, bolt of particles that would explode when it came into contact with solid surfaces or energy fields. The increased power efficiency also allowed the team to extend the range of the weapon when in this loadout.

As a final option, the team experimented with using Sianteria plasma canisters to create a firing loadout for the Valefor that was similar to a pulse cannon, creating fast moving balls of fusion plasma that could be fired rapidly and heaily damage shields and armor plating. This loadout was only possible due to the Ramuh-II, and because of the power and rate of fire behind it, the cannon would burn through its plasma canister rapidly and the recoil increased so it was recommended to only utilize short bursts.

Hi there, I will be the judge for this submission.

I love the table making it a lot clearer what each rating is for and what type of ammo it uses. However quick thing you are 1 rating over on your particle accelerator.
