STANDARD FEATURES
  • Sensor arrays allow for comprehensive coverages of all various types of wavelengths and scans. This includes life form scanning, EM radiation, thermal, movement, air composition, radar, lidar, sonar, magnetic mass and other various standard sensor packages. This allows for the onboard targeting systems to accurately utilize these sources of information to give the onboard weapons the best firing solution possible.
  • Standardized living quarters designed to keep the room as spacious as possible while allowing for premium level comforts such as full size beds, desks, wall and foot lockers, and other items normally only considered to be utilized on more premium vessels.
  • Various fire suppression systems scattered throughout the vessel.
  • Fully stocked medical bay with a Kolto/Bacta suspension tank, capable of receiving all forms of natural/synthetic Kolto/Bacta.
  • Sizeable hold carrying capacity alongside a full sized armory with room to stock pistols, rifles, heavy weapons, explosives and other weapons/armor. Hold can also carry/deploy several small speeders/speeder bikes.
  • Docking collar/clamps to be able to dock/board smaller vessels. Also includes docking umbilical receiving points for docking with larger vessels.
  • Standard Chaff/Smoke/Flare launcher countermeasures against concussion and other missiles/torpedoes.
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
  • FIE-1/2 Engines offer massive amounts of thrust when put into full power mode. This gives this ship stupid levels of maneuverability and acceleration when unleashed to their full potential, and when in standard use offer great power and acceleration especially for having so few of them.
  • Atin-class Isotope-5A reactor on board the ship offers extremely good power generation inside of its weight and size. This gives this ship the ability to perform extremely well across the board without needing much as far as power management. However the power generation on this reactor is good enough that when necessary the captains of this vessel shunt the vessel into emergency power mode and throw all of the power into the engines, allowing for the vessel to make a quick getaway. This however takes most of the primary and secondary weapons along with the shields offline to make this getaway.
  • Phrik-A hull plating combined with FM-001 and FM-002 laminates allow for the ship to have very good armor plating compared to other corvettes. This however still pales in comparison to most other capital ships and frigates.
  • Svalinn Class shields offer comprehensive a great protection against a variety of threats in space, allowing for this ship to get into a fight with other ships its size.
  • Paladin Turbolaser offers great primary firepower on frontal targets, however is only able to traverse 30 degrees off bore from the vessel's current attitude. This weapon however offers serious punch on a ship this size, giving it respectable punch against something a little bit larger.
  • Artemis Light Rapid Fire Turbolasers give the ship serious secondary weapon punch, allowing for this vessel to close with other ships in its relative size range and pummel them with rapid fire shots from these turbolasers.
  • Deimos RFPDLCs allow for this ship to defend itself exceptionally well against fighters and munitions, supplementing its more standard defenses with active protection.
  • Eagle Eye Fire Control System allows for this vessel to utilize the wide array of sensors and information gathered by this vessel to augment its ability to form shooting solutions for primary, secondary and tertiary weapon systems, and even perform advanced targeting for the MLMS and its missiles. This allows for this vessel to exceptionally effective and accurate with all of its weapons and even allow for creative captains to utilize non-standard tactics with missile barrages.
  • MLMS Zeus has access to the entirety of the Space Interception Missile Series, giving this ship the ability to go offensive, defensive and even protect itself in new and creative ways. This makes this ship much more flexible in combat as it can use these missiles to engage a variety of targets, or even as a support vessel to cover much larger ships or groups of ships as a screening vessel.
STRENGTHS
  • Good all around ship: This vessel was designed to be a good all around combat platform in a fight. It's fast enough to keep up with most run of the mill corvettes, packs a decent punch for its size, and even has more than a couple surprises for someone wishing to pick a fight with the vessel. This vessel is able to support the main line of skirmishers, or pull back to the screening line to engage and clear out enemy fighters. It even has the ability to direct fire against larger vessels with enough force to make itself known with the Paladin mounted front and center of the vessel. So while other ships may be larger, or have more guns, don't ever count this ship out.
  • Can cut and run: This ship features a variable power system that allows for the vessel to take all of the current power running through the vessel and direct it to the various engines of the vessel. This allows for the captain of this vessel to realize he's in a fight that he can't win, and proceed to get out of Corellia in two shakes of a cat's tail. And while it won't outrun the fastest of fighters or other extremely quick Corvettes, it'll give the ship some time to put distance between itself and whatever is trying to put holes in her. This allows for the ship to be able to pick its own fights much better.
WEAKNESSES
  • It's still a Corvette: This vessel for all the technology crammed into her, is still just a Corvette. She's not got the guns of a battleship, the capacity of a star destroyer, or invincible like The Sun Crusher. It fills a very niche role as a support vessel, either working well against fighters or maybe, and this is a hard maybe, taking on vessels a little above her weight class if her captain is really creative and their opponent is thick in the skull. This ship is not meant to trade blows with larger vessels, nor is it meant to deploy massive numbers of fighters and other craft to overwhelm them. It is a single vessel, with a little bit of flexibility, but in a smaller package.
  • Putting power to engines takes other systems offline: Simple as it sounds. Putting power to the engines on this ship takes power away from the shield system, the Paladin Turbolaser and other systems around the ship to make it as fast as possible. This allows for the ship to be as fast as possible and maneuverable as possible to get it out of the bad situation, but also leaves it quite vulnerable as its only defenses are the armor plates on the ship, which is to say not much. So if you engage this, do not, under any circumstances, get hit by something with serious punch. Because it'll rip the ship apart.
DESCRIPTION
One of the first vessels laid down as part of the new Surric Local Defense Force's Naval Warfare Upgrade Program, the Adder class is while not the first vessel of its kind, one of the best. This prototype version of the vessel features the very best in materials, weapons and other technologies available to Freebirds Industries. This makes this particular vessel as fast and maneuverable at standard power settings, while also packing much more firepower and defenses as its reactor allows for its weapons and shields to be in a constant high charge state. This allows for the shields to be able to recharge faster, stay up longer, and be more durable, while it gives the weapons much higher rates of fire than their standard counterparts. This makes this ship fierce in combat as against other Corvettes because while most other ships have to sacrifice speed, maneuverability or defense for this kind of punch, this ship is able to have its cake and eat it. And while this vessel is using much higher quality and several unproven prototypes, engineers at Freebirds are prepared to make a production value vessel once this ship proves its worth.

So to decide as to who would crew such a vessel, a lottery system was developed, insisting that such a vessel must first be tested outside of the SLDF Navy to see if a crew of less standardization, training, and/or even discipline could make such a vessel work. This allows for the ship to be pitted in the worst possible conditions, against a variety of scenarios, with the intent that the combat data gleamed from such a crew could be applied to make this vessel more streamlined for any and all crews in the CIS NavCom. And so, when the lottery went up, first the group of Mandalorians native to the CIS, The Enclave, was selected, followed by a particular name of a member with a vessel and the start of a crew. Talohn Atar. The engineers and scientists of Freebirds would contact this particular person to let them know of their selection to captain this vessel, and an invitation was extended to both offer the vessel, and then give them the bare necessities of training to properly operate and maintain this vessel. This training, while still extensive enough that they knew of all systems aboard, was bare enough to account for all levels of training/programing available in the CIS's Navy. This would give them a baseline to see how such a vessel would fare in standard combat, against fighters and other vessels, and see how quickly the crew of the vessel would learn from experience and adapt themselves to the strengths of the vessel.

So now, all that was left was the passage of time, the review of their combat data, and waiting to see if this vessel would prove itself, or die in a blaze of hopes and dreams.
