SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Energy shield projects a hardened energized shell of particles that provide a wide array of protections from energy and kinetics, to lightsabers, to radiation and other normalized forms of energy found in various environments, hazardous or not. This allows for the shield to offer a wide protection base.
  • Smaller personal generators allow for advanced control to the user to allow for shields to be focused on areas under attack, expected avenues of attack, or custom specific projections like projecting a shield wall or concentrated frontal wrist mounted shield. This allows for extreme flexibility and the ability to have a user of this to be able to generate protective barriers to protect other friendlies.
  • Ship level shields take the smaller shield's capabilities and bring it to another level, using redundant shield generators and adaptive shielding technology to allow for the ship itself to project a shield a wall and possibly even make smaller more concentrated shields across the vessel to intercept a variety of smaller but more deadly threats.
  • Even the personal shields form the most aerodynamic form or otherwise most fluid dynamic shape when underwater, this allows for users to gain great maneuverability when speed is the most necessary attribute in either environment.
STRENGTHS
  • Extremely adaptable: This shield system has a wide protection base especially when compared to standard shields on the market today. This allows this shield to cover a wide variety of damage types and adapt to not only a variety of environments but also even allow it to work underwater. This allows for this shield to adapt to multiple environments and still offer a premium protection.
  • Very effective: This shield is designed to take a lot of punishment from each of the damage types built in. This is why the shield is able to shunt its power into projecting protective barriers, bubbles, or even making smaller protective sections that are strong enough to even the strongest of penetrating rounds. If you need something that's stupid level tough, and extremely reliable, look no further.
WEAKNESSES
  • Ion/EMP weapons quite effective: While this shield still offers better than standard protection against these types of weapons, by their very nature they do much more damage to the shield than standard weapons. If you want to overload these shields, that's relatively easy to do with these weapons.
  • Slower moving shots/weapons go right through: So this shield works against most physical attacks by essentially deflecting weapons moving past a certain speed. This allows for air or atmosphere of a planet or even water to pass through the shield so long as the wearer itself is moving or the thing is moving at a speed deemed not excessive. This allows for the wearer to sprint or swim as fast as possible and while the shield will part most of the faster moving particles, some will still get through. That means for enemies engaging this shield they can actually get through the shield itself by ensuring their attacks are slow enough the shield won't recognize it's a threat. Unless it has an energy component, in which case the shield will naturally act against it.
  • Disruptors/Field Disruptors: These weapons have been known to pass right through shields for millennia. Scientists at Freebirds Industries still haven't rectified this problem due to the nature of disruptor weapons.
DESCRIPTION
A brand new technology to come from Freebirds Industries, the Svalinn class Energy Shield has its roots in braving the radioactive wastes of a war torn Teyr. These shields were originally built to offer as much protection as possible from the environmental extremes brought upon the planet due the use of weapons of mass destruction. However as more development was put into this shield system it was found that the engineers could quite easily boost the effectiveness of the shields and bring it to military or other applications including civilian applications on hostile worlds. This would allow workers on volcanic, radioactive, or high energy worlds to be much safer, and for star ships to be able to more proactive on the battlefield with use of their shields. And while they certainly have their drawbacks, this shield system still offers a much more premium protection than your standard shields.
