PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Engines are based on Isotope-5A fusial thrust engine design that maximizes power output of the engines. This gives the engines unprecedented thrust in a smaller package meant for heavy combat vessels and freighters.
  • Repulsor tech in the engines allows for the engines to vector their thrust to increase the maneuverability of the craft in flight.
  • Repulsor tech in the engines also allows for the vessels equipped with these engines to also swap to repulsor based flight, increasing fuel efficiency and ability of the ship to make more drastic maneuvers.
  • Engines are also designed to work with a variety of standard Fusial Thrust Engine fuels to allow for use in situations with strained supply lines. However without Isotope-5 or Isotope-5A fuels these engines operate at reduced efficiency and power output.
STRENGTHS
  • Flex Fuel Engine: This engine is designed to take multiple fuels for fusial thrust, with the best fuel and one it is designed for being Isotope-5A. Isotope-5 gives it increased thrust and power but makes the engines run hotter as Isotope-5 is more volatile. And then other commercial or military grade fuels give it lesser output as they aren't near as volatile as Isotope-5A.
  • Repulsor Tech already included: So one of the major points of starship construction is that for space craft you need to install repulsorlifts to make the ship fly better in atmosphere. Or that you need to install engines to make speeder craft able to fly in space. In both of these cases, the repulsorlifts and engines are two separate entities and therefore don't mesh together at maximum efficiency. With these engines being designed with repulsorlifts on them already, the two are innately designed to work together both in atmosphere and space. This means that the repulsorlifts can assist in spaceflight, and the engines are designed to maximize efficiency in atmosphere. And with this, you'll see more thrust and power achieved with less power generation as the two working together is more efficient and effective.
WEAKNESSES
  • Naturally Volatile fuel: These engines have extremely volatile fuel in that they utilize Isotope-5A as a natural fuel source. This makes them that much more prone to violent failures should major damage occur. This can be mitigated by running less volatile fuels, but then you see less power output and these engines behaving more like standard fusial thrust engines. And then if you run Isotope-5 through them, well you have to really stay on top of what the engines are doing because if you try to push the engines beyond their limits to long, boom.
  • Requires much more work: These engines contain thrust vectoring technologies and even more repulsor technologies to take thrust vectoring to the next level. This tech requires much more intensive pilot training to take fully advantage of these technologies, not to mention the ground crews. Being a premium product that is built for the rigors of combat, you'll need more support staff to keep these engines running at peak capacity, or a really crack team of engineers.
DESCRIPTION
The Fusial Thrust Engine. A staple for propulsion technology for decades, nay centuries that has been used and abused in many ships, star fighters, and all sorts of vehicles. However one thing that has always plagued this technology is that it relies in atmosphere on repulsorlifts and shielding technology to run as efficiently as possible. And this creates a break in efficiency because you have repulsorlifts designed for certain styles of technology or vehicles, and then you have the fusial thrust technology that is designed for its own style of flight. This creates inefficiencies when the two systems are paired, and that causes the systems to work, but not near as well as it should. And so Freebirds Industries decided to solve this issue. By doing this, they decided to design a system that incorporated a fusial thrust engine and repulsorlift technology into a single well designed system. And because these technologies are developed in tandem that are also designed to complement each other perfectly. And this specific one is designed specifically for heavy craft. This thing produces massive amounts of power. This engine does so magnificently, using the repulsorlifts to channel and direct the force created by the fusial engines to great effect. This makes this engine the premier technology to utilize in any craft with massive power output and great fuel efficiency. So why not pay a few extra credits for something that you'll see massive dividends for in the long run? You won't regret it.
