STRENGTHS
  • Bulwark: Like many other mon calamari-designed warships, the Ackdool II has multi-layered shielding which allows it to at least put up one set of shields in a given area even if some of the ship's other shielding systems are damaged or down. Combined with a reinforced frame, the Ackdool is capable of withstanding intense amounts of enemy firepower.
  • Slugger: The Ackdool II is designed to dish out large amounts of firepower, not only delegating a large portion of its reactor energy to different weapon systems, but also using larger than normal and heavier weapon systems as well. These heavy guns and warhead launchers excel at breaking down cruisers and other star destroyers in quick order.
  • Full Forward Firepower: The Ackdool II's hull shape conceptually mimics that of the classic Imperial wedge, allowing it to concentrate nearly all of its firepower in a forward arc, making it more capable of overwhelming enemy defenses
WEAKNESSES
  • Low Performance Craft: With extensive shielding taking up power otherwise available to the engines along with greater mass from the reinforced hull to further inhibit movement, the Ackdool II is not a particularly fast or agile starship for its size.
  • Weak Rear Firepower: As with other wedge-shaped designs, the Ackdool II cannot bring much of its firepower to bear in the rear arc, with most of those weapons also being lighter turbolasers and a number of its plasma energy torpedo launchers rather than its main heavy guns.
DESCRIPTION
The Ackdool II is a revision of the original Ackdool to Directorate specifications meant to make it a more generalist and useful craft - a necessity given how few star destroyers the organization can afford to field. The heart of these changes is the use of the compact but powerful Proton-8 reactor along with more extensive automation. These changes have freed up a large amount of space that has been turned into dozens of micro-hangars spread throughout the ship, allowing the Ackdool II to actually field an average amount of small craft for its size: two full wings of starfighters and two squadrons of support craft. These changes afford the Ackdool more tactical flexibility, especially in groundside operations, which have made the ships prized assets within the Directorate.
