SPECIAL FEATURES
  • E-Mag Shielded Smart Guidance System: The smart guidance system of the Blister allows the heavy missile to keep on target, even when said target is moving quickly. Combined with it's natural agility, this makes escape from this heavy missile difficult for anything larger than a strike craft. The guidance unit is also shielded from EMP and ion weapons, allowing it to work in conditions that would fry other missile systems.
  • Option to trade traditional fuse for a Sparker "No Tech" contact fuse.
STRENGTHS
  • Powerful warheads.
  • High-g turning ability.
  • EMP/ion shielded guidance system.
WEAKNESSES
  • The missiles extra size gives nothing to it's engine power, making it somewhat sluggish.
  • The Baradium warhead's deployment, while not as restricted as other CST produces, is still monitored.
  • The missiles weight and size can make it difficult to handle at times.
DESCRIPTION
The HM-3 smart missile, known simply as the "Blister" during development, is a smart missile designed to be used with the Harpoon-class and Strill launch systems. The Blister comes standard with a Proton warhead and traditional fuse, with the option of a Sparker contact fuse. For select forces, the option of a Baradium warhead is available as well, though it's use is monitored. The missile possesses a smart guidance system protected by E-Mag shielding that helps prevent the system from being fried. Along with this, the power packed behind the warheads, and the turning ability of the unit, make it a scary weapon for almost any force to face.

While a strong missile, the Blister does have its issues. The HM-3 isn't a particularly fast missile, thanks to it's size only adding to the missiles warhead and guidance system. This also means that it is classed as a heavy missile, meaning that only heavy launch systems like the LLT-18 can fire it. The missiles own weight and size can also make difficult to handle, complicating manual loading.
