A New Festival of Lights.

The Festival of Lights

b03d15ea493ce56a5148b1eb6164eab2.jpg

Solan stood with a smile as he looked out over the city, standing in his secluded apartment on Ciomia and talking to the organizers of this festival, one that his own people held on Kesh but he had brought to this world out of the interest in seeing things be spread from his home to that which he resided in as of late. To him the Republic had always been a home, it was not the same as Kesh, but it held a place in his heart and he wanted to give it the thing that his people had, the celebration for the stars and this would hold more than one meaning today.

The festival was a chance for Military, Civilian, and Politicians to be in one place, equal under the stars and the lights of the city above. And further it was a gathering of those that stood for the light and beside it, the Republic inviting those from nations such as the CSA, The Silver Jedi, and the former Alliance to enjoy the night and to take things in peace for one night. It was a night of great preparation that he had enlisted his Shadow Legion to prepare, the military force used to help provide security and policing when the world and its people would be given the chance to relax.

After all, Ciomia did not have a large native population, and instead was one bred from those who had fled from the galaxy to get away from war, those who wanted to preserve the Republic and modeled their home after the ideals that the Republic aspired to. There was the original population too, that had welcomed this newer wave and had given them a place beside them, something that made Solan smile as he turned and leaned his head back against the railing, sitting with a glass of vodka in one hand, and a small picture in the other, smiling sadly and starting to cry as the people below had their fun. The man missed her, he missed her greatly and now could not even communicate with her as she had moved on from the crystal that had held her.

Below in the streets though, one would never have expected this to be happening for anyone. Vendors sold food, or small lights for children to carry through the streets as those same streets were filled with music and joy. IT was like a paradise, one night of pure bliss with people drinking and laughing, music echoing to the darkest corners of the streets, and the world alight with floating lights that seemed to even mimic stars, a soft blue glow coming from them as they hung across buildings.

It was a night for many to remember.

Alexandra Feanor

The Lady in Silver/Grey Historian
Location: Wandering Ciomia's Streets

Alexandra brought her hand up and drew it back, allowing the tree to finish it growth and for her hands to find their place behind her back. The tree she had grown, its place in a prominent park area withing Ciomia's limits, was not like the normal ones she provided temples. It held no connection to the lgiht, or the force itself, atleast no more than a normal tree would. Instead the tree she had made was one that had been entirely created for this situation in her personal lab, creating something that produced a bio-luminescence in its trunk and out to the leaves themselves, casting a soft light on the area around it and acting like tiny little beacons held in the air.

With that done though, she had little reason to remain and left, her hand pulling the hood over her head and smiling as she found her way into the crowds and vanished into the. She was wearing unremarkable, normal clothing today. A leather jacket that covered her form beneath a cloak and trousers that seemed to be caked in dirt and oil, the outfit she wore when she was not with the Jedi, but rather just moving about as a normal being. After all, the Jedi of the Republic were nothing more than Civilians and she was no monk, as much as she could play the part and look it when needed. She was first and foremost a normal woman, who had lived for a long time and now was given a second chance at youth, something she had no intention of squandering.

Which was why she smiled when she saw someone selling booze out on the street side, taking her hood down so that she could see things clearly. She had no reason to hide her appearance, but the hood had been a reflex when she had pulled it over her head, a reflex she had to correct and did so when talking to others. Her turn came quick enough and she smiled as she ordered from the man a drink that was contained within a large bottle, a brewed ale that the man promised had a strong taste to it. She was happy to hear that and with the end of that she started on again.

It did not take her long to open the bottle, drinking from it as she walked, her golden eyes watching people as she passed them, red hair sitting on her shoulders and the tail dragging behind her ever so slightly. She wondered what it was that everyone around her was thinking sometimes, knowing she could find out if she wanted but not quite comfortable with peaking into people's minds anymore. That and the fact that if she was caught, it would mean she would have to explain why the Grandmaster of the Jedi was looking into the minds of random citizens and guests to the Republic.

She was not about to do the paperwork that would come with a situation like that.

So she drank from the bottle and watched people, eventually finding a bench to sit down on before turning and taking up the entire length. She stared up at the sky as people passed by, the bottle finding her lips every so often and her drinking more from it. The contents did taste good, that much was true, but she figured it would take more for the night to pass by with little crossing her mind like she used to be able to do. This cursed new body made it difficult to get drunk in the same way she had before, but she was certain that tonight there would be enough to drink for that to be possible.

She smiled and continued to look up past the skyscrapers, imagining the night sky and sighing. A final thought touching her mind, making her wonder who it was she might find herself meeting tonight, again or for the first time.

Theron City, Ciomia.
Drinking Al Fresco at the Canis Den Cafe
--

Mereel stared absentmindedly into the still steaming cup of caf. The passing-by onlooker may have assumed that the man was searching the cup's contents for the answer to life's greatest mystery, and as far as Mereel was concerned he may as well have been. His search for his sister had lead him to a derelict passenger corvette that had been en route to Mandalore. He hadn't found the body of his sister, but his search of the derelict had provided scant clues for him to follow if she was still alive.

Thankfully, he knew someone who might be able to help him follow the clues he did have, or rather the singular clue: his sister's personal diary. [member="Seo Linn"] had used a force ability called psychometry when they first met on Anaxes. If he recalled correctly, she could use psychometry to see the past events that a person had experienced just by touching an object they had interacted with.

Naturally, he had contacted her as soon as he could. The fact that the Festival of Lights was happening when he needed to meet her had been a mere coincidental, a coincidental he just now realized may have made their scheduled meeting look like an invitation to a date.

Fierfek. I don't remember if I told Seo what this was about in our holocall, too distracted by the journal . . . I'm already a materialist in comparison to most Jedi.. If I start skirting around the code any more I'm going to give Lilla an aneurysm..

Mereel sighed deeply before picking up the cup and drowning his worries with the hot drink. He was definitely over thinking it. Lilla had been completely unphased when he revealed the darkest parts of himself on multiple occasions. An inconsequential result of miscommunication wouldn't cause his Master to bat an eyelash.

As far as Seo was concerned, well, he'd just wing it. She probably wasn't expecting anything out of his invitation. It didn't help that he had decided to not wear his armor, but a tan jacket, white undershirt, brown baggy pants, and black boots were hardly the outfit of a romantic. He would just catch up with Seo a bit, ask for her help with the journal, and then get back on the trail of his sister.

A man Seo had run into once and then decided to...well adventure together with had asked her to meet him on Ciomia. The invitation to join him again after he had been taken by a bounty hunter was almost a surprise to her. They had been together that day on Carida when he had been taken and his fate was never revealed to her. While she could have searched for the answer, she had the feeling then he would be fine. That proved to be the case when he requested she come to the coffee shop to chat with him.

At least she thought it was a chat, but as she walked the streets she wasn't sure. There appeared to be a festival going and by the time she arrived at the shop she was covered in glitter and had a few strands of lights around her neck. Just how they got there would be a mystery for Mereel to figure out, because Seo wasn't about to tell him.

Even though she knew the purpose of the meeting, she was interested in learning more from Mereel about the ordeal he went through. It was lucky he had taken his helmet off the day they met or when she arrived at the shop, she wouldn't have known him. Her eyes looked at him as he started into his cup from his head to toes and back up before she approached him

Since she hadn't been aware of the festival going on, she wore what she was comfortable in. Maybe it was a little better looking than what she normally wore, but it was still casual. Not something your typical Jedi would wear. Light brown pants that were form fitting and tucked into her ankle boots. Her top was darker orange that mixed in well with the earth tones Seo usually wore. At the hems of her sleeves, neck and along the bottom of the shirt was some gold threading that seemed to be on almost everything she wore.

If he noticed her looking at him, she would nod and walk over to join him. On the chance he didn't see her until she sat down, she would likely surprise him out of his almost meditation he had going on with his drink.

After Kiran's past had been brought to light and things didn't turn out quite as bad as he would've predicted them to be. Things for the most part got strangely easier for the young man. While his training would be taking off soon, in that retrospect he was sure things would get so much more hard and challenging. Given everything that had happened to him Kiran welcomed the challenge with open arms, as he no longer had the fear of being retaliated against for his crimes and such. And so it was to that end that events such as this one became so much more easier to deal with and he actually learned to relax and have some fun, as much as he wanted without getting into to much trouble that was.

The young man was dressed up a little bit, but not to extravagant as he wasn't entire too sure how dressed up he was supposed to be. It was quite nice for the members of the Silver Jedi to be invited to this festival, and while Kiran hadn't seen anything of this nature since he was a boy on Corellia it would do him some good to be here for this. Several individuals whom had had known were going to be attending so that was also a plus, he wouldn't have to worry to much about striving out and making an impression.

Or perhaps he thought he would still have too, Kiran had inquire if [member="Asaraa Vaashe"] would be attending. Upon finding out that she was, he had asked her if she wanted to hang out during this festival. Not like a date or anything, but more so just as a friendly hang out. While he had to admit he did find the Asaraa very attractive, he didn't want to throw anything complicated into this. Not while he was just beginning his journey here.

Kiran hadn't fully delved into the masses yet, however as he looked across the way the vendors and everything individually that they had set up was completely marvelous and it brought a somewhat goofy smile to his face. As his heart lightened up a bit and had been doing so ever since he spilled the secrets of his past. This was going to be fun, and all he had to do know what to find Asaraa.

It was like floating on a cloud, the entire city seemed to be on some kind of high, the conversations on the street and the people who streamed by all seemed to be happy as if the entire city had decided to forget about their worries, to just enjoy themselves. There was a sense of well being, of comfort and oneness that seemed to flow out through the force, a sensation that threatened to sweep Asaraa up and carry her along with it. For a moment the girl considered it, considered letting herself be pulled along with the crowd, dancing in with them till exhaustion overcame her. It was a heady, tempting thought but not one she could indulge in, at least not yet.

As usual, the girl had forsaken the robes most Jedi wore, in fact she couldn't remember the last time she wore robes, she might still have a pair somewhere hidden away in the depths of her cupboard...maybe. The fact was she was just much happier not wearing the robes, they felt constricting and it was much easier to blend into the crowd if you were wearing more normal clothes. As it was Asaraa had chosen a pair of tan trousers and a white tank top with a long loose white shirt worn like a jacket over them. Just the kind of clothes you want to dance around in a crowd in, a wry smile touched her lips as she turned away, slipping through the crowd wrapping herself in a small cocoon of the force to protect herself from wayward feet and elbows as she shifted her gaze around curiously.

Ah, there we go, she' agreed to meet up with Kiran while they were here, she only knew the boy from their time spent in the waiting room of the Assembly room but where better to get to know someone than the middle of a huge street party? At least you knew there was gonna be something to do and something to eat (both very important things to take care of). "Well, you're looking very smart today."

Mereel sensed a familiar presence in the force focusing in on him in the sea of festival goers. A small grin formed on the right side of his face as he pulled his gaze away from the cup of caf.

He raised his head as Seo was halfway through her walk to his table. He saw that, as usual, Seo wasn't wearing traditional Jedi robes and was instantly relieved. However, he was still a bit surprised to see the woman all glittered up, more surprising still were the strings of multi-colored lights tappered around her neck.

The festive outfit additions were enough to get Mereel to raise an eyebrow for a brief moment as she sat down, "Nice lights. Would've gone with more blue personally, but I think you're pulling it off without going full blue pretty well."

Mereel smiled in earnest and let his jest simmer for a second before talking again in a more genuine manner, "It's good to see you again."

[member="Seo Linn"]

Mereel noticed her before she reached the table and gave her a bit of a surprised smile. It wasn't an entirely false one that somebody might have given and once she sat down it turned into one shared between friends.

"One can't be choosy when they are freely given."

A touch of her sense of humor would shine. Trying to fit in was difficult at times, but Seo was able to return his smile with a little one of her own. Her other body language spoke louder though. She was relaxed around him. What they had been through so far had been trying, stressful and bonded them quite strongly.

"After all we've been through to get this far, I agree. It is good to see you again, Mereel."

Lifting a finger to point out around them outside, she looked at him as she spoke.

"What is going on? A festival of some sort and it deals with lights. All I've been able to gather so far."

The thought she had while walking through the streets came back, but it did not change much in how she acted around him. If anything, maybe it helped her a little. To think he had invited her here to join in the festival. Something beyond solving a mystery or getting turned in as a bounty.

"What have you been up to?"

Kiran took his time looking around taking in the sights around him until he heard her voice close. The young man smiled lightly as he caught sight of her and just giggled lightly and shrugged his shoulders. It was something that surprised Kiran as he couldn't ever remember the last time he laughed like that, no doubt it was the relaxing time and the new atmosphere he was in. Also not the mentioned the good company that had just arrived.

"Someone around here has to be." Kiran bowed his head lightly before speaking. "And your looking rather.....cute?" Kiran said in a teasing manner, while she did look great, he wanted to loosen up and have some fun.

Kiran looked around a moment before facing her again. "I was just thinking it's been a long time since I had been around one of these festivals. I forgot how fun they could be, granted the last one I attended was when i was just a young boy. Do you wanna grab something to eat or drink?"

[member="Asaraa Vaashe"]

"Well someone has to," the girl replied, a smile playing around her lips as she threw his words back at him, her hands grasping her shirt, dipping her legs in a curtsy as one eyebrow arched up, "You're lucky cute was what I was going for," she teased as she straightened up, "otherwise you'd have been in trouble...I'm not sure what I'd do but my retaliation would have been legendary and awesome," the girl winked at [member="Kiran Arlos"] as she reached up, tucking a strand of her pink-haired hair behind one of her ears.

"Wait, you're joking? I mean, these places are awesome, it's where people forget about all their worries and the entire world comes to life. If we're gonna spend our lives fighting for people, it's important to know what you're fighting for, besides" she flashed a bright smile at Kiran, "It's fun too." It was one of her favourite parts of the Silver Jedi, they didn't demand that the Jedi avoid events like this, but rather they encouraged people to get involved. "Well since it's a festival...shall we see what kinda street food stalls they have set up? There's normally something good and that's where all the unique stuff tends to come out. And I mean it's a celebration, that's totally a good reason to treat ourselves with unhealthy food...right?"

Mereel rested his left arm on the table and kept his eyes locked on Seo's as she pointed around at the varying displays of light, some floating in the air, others strung across commercial buildings and storefronts, and occasionally at the festival goers around them.

Guess that's what I forgot to mention in my message.

He allowed another wave of relief to wash over him. He would've felt pretty terrible if he had asked her to meet him here and she didn't know about the journal. It seemed he was in the clear though, and he stopped worrying about the diary. As long as their was a development before the night was over, he could afford to stop worrying for a little while.

His shoulders slackened an inch, and he had to raise his voice a level to speak over the high notes of the song that was now reverberating through the city streets, "Ciomian Festival of Lights. Don't have the foggiest idea -"

The song decrescendoed and he lowered his voice to match, "- how I forgot about this when I sent my message. Sorry 'bout that."

"I've just been doing the same thing I've been doing since the incident, but I don't think I want to dive into that just quite yet."

Mereel raised an inquisitive eyebrow and planted both of his elbows on the table. He leaned forward until he was on the edge of his seat, "I know for a fact that the street vendors are actually selling those... cheap, but not 'freely given'. Which begs the question, how exactly did you get those?"

"And how many glitter bombs did you walk through on your way here?"

His voice was a mix of astonishment and amusement as he posed the last the question, there was truly a terrifying amount of glitter on Seo. It would be a nightmare to get all of it off.

[member="Seo Linn"]

"The glitter is practically falling from the sky. I'm a little surprised you didn't get hit with any."

As relaxed as Seo was around him, her usually rather emotionless tone and expression changed. There was a real sound of astonishment in her voice when she said she was surprised.

Waving off the apology he gave, she actually rested a hand on the table and held it out to him slightly.

"Things have been tough on your, haven't they?"

A small half smile came to her face when he asked about how she got the lights and it turned into a grin as she thought of how to answer it. Leaning forward, that hand was still out and she winked at him.

"Do you really want to know or do you want me to show you?"

Kiran shook his head slightly and laughed a bit. The young man loved her attitude, it brought a smile to his face. She was definitely someone he was glad to be around. "Well..." Kiran leaned in a bit as if he was going to whisper to her. "Haven't you heard, I am legendary and awesome. So I might be able to hand your retaliation."

Kiran winked at her, she then spoke of the festivals and all it was about and what it entailed and it was just then that a small gust of wind swept up around them and it felt really good. He was glad to be back here, out in the open. Having fun and doing what he felt someone his age should be doing, when he wasn't saving the galaxy for the evil sith lords.

"I can't really recall the last time I had something unhealthy that tasted very good." Kiran voiced as they made their way through the crowded streets, and he even made an attempt to tap her on her shoulder when she wasn't looking and then play that it wasn't him. "Something sweet?" Kiran inquired, as they passed by a stand that seemed to sell a variety of homemade chocolates and different flavored candies. "Perhaps we should get some, food first?" The young man said with a small laugh.

[SIZE=10pt]Life was in the streets as people were wandering and enjoying the nightlife. Lights lit up everything and Allyson smiled happily as she sipped on sweet milk tea with tapioca pearls floating at the bottom. The invitation to check out what the Republic Remnant had to offer on Ciomia was a treat, mostly because Allyson had never set foot here. Pausing for a moment she glanced up and took in the sight of the lights that blended beautifully with the stars. [/SIZE]

[SIZE=10pt]“Ever see anything like this?” Not looking away from the spectacle, she spoke to her companion – a certain silver eyed Jedi Master. Allyson continued to sip on her tea and finally smiled towards the woman. This was a new experience, even beyond never seeing it before. For the first time she was feeling what life was like around her. Everyone’s happiness and the energy that emotion created. Thinking about it made her smile wider. [/SIZE]

[SIZE=10pt]To finally feel connected to the living world was something Allyson never felt she would feel. Technology and machines were the only things that felt alive to her. Now she could understand truly what the Force and how it was what gave life to the universe. Softly nudging the other woman, she continued walking making sure that [member="Jyoti Nooran"] was following. “There’s a lot to do, anything strike your interest? There’s places to eat, drink and –” Allyson’s voice trailed off as the music grew louder as they walked. “Seems to be places to dance too or we can find somewhere quiet and watch the lights – up to you.” [/SIZE]

Mereel saw Seo extending her hand across the table as early as her comment about his glitter avoidance, so he realized that something was up, but he was hardly able to keep the surprise from registering on his face the second he fully processed that she had just winked at him.

Not wanting to miss another beat, Mereel moved his own hand across the small table and laid his palm on top of hers. He felt the warmth of her hand in his own as he curled his fingers and let them slip to rest between hers.

He returned her grin with his own, "You would've gotten a real kick out of seeing all the things I did to get here without looking like a birthday card."

It turned out the force could prove very useful for pushing away unwanted glitter as it fell. Using a grappling hook to get above a congregated group of glitter dispensers at one point had also helped. Crazy? Maybe a little, but understandable to anyone who had ever experienced trying to clean glitter out of a suit of armor's body glove.

He slowly pulled his fingers away from Seo's hand as he stood up from his chair. He straightened himself out and ruffled his jacket a bit to make sure that all of his concealed weapons were still on his person. Satisfied by the sound of his two blaster pistols rustling against the jacket's material, he refocused his attention on Seo and offered his hand, "When you say it like that, I don't think there's any other option beside showing me."

[member="Seo Linn"]

There was certainly a change in Seo from their previous encounters. Not being under a threat of death or attempting to solve a mystery, she had let go some of her reservations. The festive atmosphere of Ciomia was contagious and there was hardly anybody untouched by it, herself included.

A surprised look crossed Mereel's face at her open display of humor, her touch and tone of voice. Previously everything had been essentially neutral about her. Tonight she could shine and not just because she was covered in glitter and strings of light.

"There are times when looking like a birthday card are acceptable though. Here and now is one of those times."

So the festival wasn't why he invited her here and she wasn't sure if she should feel disappointment or not. Since that wasn't the reason, she was curious now as to why he wanted to meet with her. Not one to be a suspicious person, she started to think he wanted her to further some goal of his. Time would tell on that though.

He had taken her hint and grasped her hand as they sat and talked, when he let go to stand up, he offered his hand to help her up. His words were greeted with a smile and acceptance of the offer. For a moment, she leaned in close to whisper in his ear.

"You're going to look like a birthday card before the night is over."

With a real grin, she guided them out of café and out onto the streets. He had asked how she got the lights and now he was going to get one strand of his own. When they were at a very public location, she stopped and turned around. Before Mereel could hardly react by stopping and pulling away a kiss was planted firmly on his lips. She lingered in the exchange a few moments which was long enough for her to transfer one of those strands into his neck.

Streets of Ciomia

Two friends stood with their backs to the iron railing. Leaning against the night sky and laughing easily. They had come to this place to enjoy some time away from other errands. She was Jessica Rye. A tall thin woman in a dark bodyglove and a curt synth-fur cape. A Jedi Knight from the quiet Praxeum of Eria Pechal. He was Jay Shaun. A tall strong human male clad in dark leathers and a thin black scarf. Also a Jedi Knight. Though, from much much further away.

The two friend gave each other a toast of crystal glasses and of good thanks. Polishing off their festive champagne with a smile and a nod. A perfect beginning to another perfect night. Alas, though the night was still young a reprieve was already in order. So they must part ways anew. Jay took his leave of Jessica and returned to the bustling crowds of the brilliant city below. She knew he wouldn't be gone for long. Indeed. Such breaks where commonplace among his fine company. Always followed by a quick and positive opportunity to do some chatting too. Mmm. Smiling as she was want do. Poor Jess couldn't help but gaze over at poor Alex. Oh dear. Oh dear. My my my...

"Oh. Dear sister. You nurse that bottle like it's made of gold and silver? Hehe."

Jess pushed away from the railing and dusted her fuzzy cape, "And rightly so, I'd wager. So where might another thirsty girl get one just as wealthy, eh?"

Perhaps they could have a little fun.

What he had expected out of the night had been completely derailed within a few minutes of greeting her, but he refused to believe it was entirely his own fault. He had undeniably failed to mention some details when he had contacted her, but he couldn't have possibly predicted how Seo was currently acting from his past encounters with her.. or maybe he could have. Mereel's ability to read through the lines was pretty hit or miss at the best of times.

As he helped her out of her chair, an epiphany struck him: during the few weeks the two of them had been together, they had hardly spent any time together that didn't involve hurriedly rushing from place to place or having their lives on the line. This might have just been how Seo always acted when she wasn't under pressure.

He didn't receive a second to think about his revelation before he felt her breath against his ear and he heard her whispering to him. He didn't think he had ever given a woman a better unintentional opportunity for double entendre in his life. He felt a brief, faint shiver come from the small of his back in response to Seo's whisper, and he bit down a small grin as it appeared on his lips.

"We'll see. I'll give you a warning though, I don't think you're going to get any help from the glitter bombs or dispensers - I have something of an innate talent for avoiding those."

It was a gross exaggeration. It had actually taken him a significant amount of effort to get to where they were without getting doused in festival decor, but he wasn't about to admit that freely. Besides, it would be a fun challenge to see if he could actually keep the glitter away while they walked to wherever it was they were going.

As he followed Seo out of the café, he cleared his thoughts and slowed his breathing. He only allowed himself to think about Seo in the abstract - only what was needed so that he could still follow close by her as she walked, the rest of his attention remained constantly focused skyward. To any ordinary onlooker, Mereel would have looked like the luckiest man in the world. Each and every time a rogue wave of glitter began falling towards him, a gust of wind would appear like clockwork and blow the glitter away from him.

Seo would know differently however. He had no doubt that the woman would be able to sense his frequent use of the force to push away the glitter and confetti with extremely minuscule and precise waves of force telekinesis.

Keeping the glitter at bay turned out to be a much more taxing task than finding ways around it, and as they walked more and more of his attention became devoted to seeking out falling glitter. Just as he became aware of a large amount of confetti being blown towards him by a light easterly wind, Seo stopped directly in front of him and put a kiss on his lips.

Mereel was plucked from his trance in an instant, and his face became a display of delighted, but also panicked surprise. The confetti would be on him in a second or two if he stayed where he was.

A resolution for his predicament came to mind pretty quickly.

The dumbstruck look on his face was replaced by one of intense focus. Without saying a word, mostly because he didn't have time to say words, he swiftly placed a hand on either side of Seo's hips, and tilted his head down slightly to make his lips lock with hers. The second he felt their lips meet he began trying to move her backward by gently pushing her hips and slowly walking forward at the same time. If he didn't move her from where she was he was going to be all glittered up just like Seo.

[member="Seo Linn"]

The way Seo was acting was a bit out of character for her, but it was a festive time and she gave into those demands. There was no way she missed the reaction he had from her whisper. He tried to hide his grin, but failed to keep it from his eyes. It seemed he was up for the challenge of attempting to keep himself glitter and confetti free.

Through the short walk to the destination in mind, she did feel Mereel using the Force to keep the glitter away from him. It was pretty humorous to her and she did not hide the amused smile she carried.

Where she picked was probably one of the more popular corners, but their location wasn't actually in the main line of moving people. However, even here there was no full escape from the wildly, wind blown glitter and confetti.

His reaction was a little surprising, but this was good in her mind. The kiss actually was returned and it appeared he wanted to continue with the lip locking. Once she had finished transferring a strand of lights to his neck, she placed her hands behind his head to hold him there. She was entirely oblivious to the incoming confetti or his real reason for pushing against her.

She put up a little resistance to being pushed back thinking that's what he wanted. Locked in the kiss that confetti was probably going to hit him directly.
