A beacon of light [Army of Light - Meet-Up]

@Manus Xextos

The festivities were not putting Siobhan in a good mood. The army wanted to start a war, so it said at least, and was having a party and making merry. "Name's Siobhan Kerrigan, not here for a rousing speech. So nothing big has been decided yet and people here are celebrating as if the war's won before it even started?" she asked flatly with evident cynicism in her tone.

"Anything decided on its command structure, targets, how to acquire resources, weapons, recruits? Speeches won't tear the Sith Empire down." Bitchy? Probably, but Siobhan did not muck around. She was a blunt person by nature. There was strong loathing in her tone when she spoke of the Sith, deep-seated hatred, though controlled for now. Recent events on Fondor...had only amplified his and there was a hardness to her features.

@[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"]

Away from the celebrations. After supporting @[member="Manu Xextos"] earlier, he'd followed the man forward. "The festivities. It was a tactical move. It cut down the opponent well and true to size," Taiden said with no love for celebration either, the previous hug for himself at the time had been greeted with a rigid nod. Traditional Echani had celebration but it was not in song or drink, it was in dance sometimes, but it was often in dueling where they found their zest for life, at least traditional Echani trained in the ways of their heritage.

He'd very much seen Carn as an opponent, but had no need to face words, because words meant nothing to Echani, and so had stayed silent perceiving little point. Though he'd seen the tension in the room killed, in one blow, that he could appreciate. Declining any offer of a drink that came his way. @[member="Sera Inkari"], one thing that defined those around him, all were from different backgrounds and places. A militia turning into an army, but her questions needed direct answers.

Silver shining eyes studied @[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"] carefully deciding his next move, the body language was honest, open and direct. Words meant nothing to him, only the expression of that action, "Recruits. Echani follow conflict not peace, they express themselves through it. Battle for the right cause itself will draw them, this I know, we will show them their place in it" his entire house had been founded on the fact that one Raien Keth had caused an uprising within his own people, lit a flame underneath them, and people had flocked to his banner. Taiden knew the story of Thyrsus very well, Echani and Thyrsians especially were restless at peace, "we brought those loyal to the name Keth, but more will follow when we are in the Vanguard."

Kei had seen conflict most of his life, whether his time on the statement serving under his father, on the run from crystal hunters, and his tenure at the Jedi had only put him against the Sith from the very first day. Amplified in understand in taking the wildcards on missions and finding Sith facing him. One last glance to @[member="Kiskla Grayson"] and a grin of thanks, as he moved from her side, there was more business to discuss. Duties after today's pause wouldn't stop for some time to come, he could see that. Enjoying this final moment of calm before the storm, but he'd had a moment of fun, that was what he'd take with him.

He was a Jedi, a solider and was assembling an army as a General. Those were three roles not easy to balance. While the Echani ahead could speak clearly of being built for war, he had to keep serenity in his heart, to contrast those who might find and carry darkness in the war ahead, to balance them, because that was important to be a unified front. Unity, the saber on his hip, named for just those considerations.

"Kei", he said to her directly, walking up to the woman and introducing himself, "we have Arion, the makings of our R&D" a fleet, a company that they'd swayed to the cause with promise of the spoils of war, "the wildcards, best of the best, and ships we were able to barter for. We'll take some from the Sith, and look at building the others from what we salvage," one way or the other they'd see plenty of metal floating in the black before they were done. There were the Echani and the Kintan's nikto here as well. Kei scratched his stubble, looking around them, it had been a hell of day, and just the first one, the Epicanthx in him enjoyed it, all of it.

"Our first targets are lined up, the plans ready." Kei had the sense she might have a thing or two to say as well, better to get her to show her hand first, than spill every detail out in the open here, "but before I give you more, what do you think?"

Talking about salvage and mining operations here.

"Nice to have you on board," Siobhan spoke to the Echani, giving him a respectful nod. She had not fought on the side of Echani, but knew their reputation as elite fighters. But for the endeavour that was planned in time a grand army would be needed, assuming it went somewhere. The Jedi had come out in full strength to invade the Empire at Metalorn, yet faltered.

Of course...they had lacked the will because the Girl-Chancellor, someone Siobhan considered a traitor to the cause, had made a craven peace with the Sith. As if the bantha could make friendly with the krayt dragon. She cast those thoughts aside, they just made her even more bitter, threatened to bring the rage that was bubbling beneath the surface to the forefront. The rage that had so often powered her, but could easily turn against herself.
But then she herself, slaughterer of Reavers, had failed when it counted. Unable to protect the one person that mattered more than anything else to her. Ah, yes. Sword of the Protectorate. Who let the Sith snake in because she could not control her urges. We have dismissed that claim.

She was shaken out of her musing, which would have probably soon turned to self-castigation, when a new figure approached them, this one Kei Amadis, organiser of this endeavour. As with many here Siobhan did not know the Jedi personally - her affilitations with the Order since departing had been fleeting, the one she probably knew the most was Phylis Alince, apparently now promoted to the rank of Council member, something which should send the snark levels of Council discussions into overdrive. But she sensed the man meant business and despite her deeply ingrained cynicism she could respect that.

She was all business now, focused. That was always the best, then she did not have to think, despise herself. "Action gets the word out, rally people to the cause by hitting the enemy where it hurts. Shipyards, industrial centres, Sith academies while the army's still in the hit and run phase with fast strike forces to show them you mean business. Course...not so along the Jedi did their crusade and threw the towel after one battle. Sooner or later the army's gotta take worlds to get the resources, recruits, independent manufacturing and bases to assault from, and not all locals will be grateful about being liberated. Got to be in for the long haul, ready to make sacrifices along the road and there'll be many. Sent almost twenty thousands troops to their deaths on Gehenna and that was just to wipe out Bando Gora and I'd go it again. War's hell, a cruelty you can't refine, even with good intentions," she shrugged at that, her tone matter-of-fact. Siobhan did not muck around, and war had desensitised her.

It was not an hounourable joust, it was brutal, savage. The enemy was vicious, sometimes one had to be vicious as well to crush him. Like she would find Kaelin and crush her...this time there would no escape for her. She would beg for death by the time Siobhan was done with her.

"Army's going to look into gaining more corporate sponsors? Promise of spoils should get some interested if the army shows it can deliver." For now she did not mention Firemane Industries yet, though that would come up.

Sorry for the delay, had some problems accessing the site and work.
@[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"]
There was a lot in front of him, in this one woman, he didn't know the details only the strength of the woman was obvious to a warrior, experience, tactics. Kei moved to the front of the others, "their temples and shipyards, the centres' of their strength," this was good, solid thinking. "Undermine their faith in themselves as an empire," he scratched the stubble on his chin, that was an easier battle than meeting their fleets, or taking them head on into a battle they couldn't yet win, they might splinter all on their own.

"People can't always do what it takes, not everyone is or should be built to be able to, that's where we come in." Kei said to @[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"], "take's a strong motive to see it through," he heard Siobhan's motive here, "and you have that." Kei smiled, a good nature behind the smile, no matter what he'd retain that if he could. They were of like mind, even if the reasons were different, they'd both seen some things which they would change, one way or the other. He felt that here, from her, a strength, though there was something coming from her he didn't have the force sense to put his finger on, that rage she felt. "Come with me, and we'll see it through, one way or the other the Jedi, at least this Jedi, won't fail you again." @[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"]. Kei was committed to the end, whatever that end was, win or lose, he'd be there.

He offered up a hand for her to take, she could shake it or not, to place faith in another Jedi or not, it didn't matter only that he meant it.

"Where would you pick next if you had your pick of Sith jewels to snuff out, because you do, only the army is a fraction of the size now," The Epicanthx grinned, rolling his neck around, as if warming up, relaxing into the discussion, readying himself. He grinned to retain that sense of connection with the force, to bring some light into his expression, the reason for doing it, to keep himself balanced. She might feel a strength of character in Kei, a shield, which would never fall to the Sith, not without the biggest weight you'd ever see pressing upon his shoulders, and then some.

Their first target was already set, and it didn't matter if there was one or a hundred of them hitting it, only that the job got done. The second one was ready to be looked at and taken just the same, it could be one from the army of light, or ten thousand sent, it didn't matter, the end goal would be the same.

Army's going to look into gaining more corporate sponsors? Promise of spoils should get some interested if the army shows it can deliver. "Couldn't hurt," Kei admitted, "I've put the call out over the underground, and will do so publicly, taking our first ship should take care of that."

@[member="Kei Amadis"]

Not so long Siobhan would have joined any crusade against the Sith in a heartbeat. She had been there at Metalorn, fought and almost slain Velok, although the Republic and the Protectorate had been starring daggers at each other. If things had turned out differently, she would have brought an Omega Legion to the front. But one could not dwell on what ifs.

And now...she really wanted the Sith dead. She wanted heads before her, their academies and temples razed, armies eradicated. So what held her back? Many reasons. Ten years of fighting had taken their toll, endless death charging even when she was battered and broken, but that was not the real reason for a woman so inured to pain and sacrifice. Her own life...not that important to her.

But she would not leave @[member="Tegaea Alcori"] again...not after having already failed her like that. She had already been selfish enough. So she extended her hand as Kei offered his, but did not shake it. Instead she handed him a card with contact details. The information in question being that of a corporation called Firemane Industries.

"Ideally if I had my pick of targets I'd hit Dromund Kaas....with baradium. Perhaps not the palace, too obvious a target, but the Sith temples, military headquarters. Hell, if I had white current illusionists cloak the bombs and drop them from orbit. Chances are it would be a suicide mission, so only the most dedicated for the job. Blow the place to hell and hit the Sith nerve centre. And meanwhile raid the corporate headquarters of Muunilist for the creds," she spoke bluntly.

"If I had the forces for an invasion I'd push into the Empire from the northwest. Muunilist and Yaga Minor through to Bastion and take the fortress, the old Remnant territory." As a fortress world Bastion was a prize that would provide a good base if it could be taken.

Live in Light, Surf Master
"Temples, resource centres, Muunilist. That is a good place to hop to and hit. Need an accomplice to help make things go boom? I love destroying Sith relics. Helps not make more of the little ce'shirs." Manu's eyes went milky white, the Force flowing around him in a faster current, as if in an ocean's jet stream. Possible targets and probabilities flowed around him, and as he picked and fondled the images, he found pockets of brighter strands, ones which shattered and came back together, coiling around him.

A planet once bright, now deep in Sith Space, where once he had saved a princess from dying in the cold. His darling adopted daughter Chiara. Images floated by, an older monarch, a marriage, a silver haired bundle at the door, statues and cloaks of Xextos Grey. "Chandaar." Manu said to @[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"] and @[member="Kei Amadis"] with a definitive mastery on the voice.

"We must get to Chandaar. I can tell you emphatically we will find resources and recruits there. I sense. . . I sense family has been waiting for me. I don't know how, but it is what my Farseeing dictates. We hit to Chandaar, let me speak with them and we will have an army to carry out the rest of our plans."

XV-265 joined the festivities. He was not used to working together in a group. He had always fought for himself, only allying himself with others for brief periods of time, until he, or they broke the alliance and betrayed one another. He had never been part of a real organisation before, too. It would certainly prove to be an ... informative experience. @[member="Kei Amadis"]

@[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"] Waiting, giving everyone else a chance to speak as they wanted, before accepting the card, he had the feeling he'd not be able to talk her into taking that hand fully, "You in the ship building business?" Kei grinned, "Thank you." He knew there would be credits attached, but the fact a company might be brave enough to supply the ships made things easier, he was certain they'd not lack for business.

Listening to the tactics and advice she offered, taking it all onboard the Epicanthx agreed with some whole heartedly, some of it was sound thinking, but not the suicide runs, not unless he was the one making them to deliver a killing blow, nobody else would be going in his place that was damn sure. "If you're ever feeling in the mood to come along, feel free, open invitation, no strings," giving one last grin, pretty sure from what he felt and heard at first glance, that she'd be someone to welcome along.

@[member="Manu Xextos"] "In sith space? How are they holding out?", leaning his head up to scratch the stubble on his chin. He knew the plan to take the resources, but hadn't realised there would be troops there to take home. Echani, the more of them they could stack up the better, hell if it was him he'd have a legion of them, but first things first, walk before you can run.

@[member="XV-265"] Kei signalled the droid with a nod, he didn't speak binary, but heard the model had a high level of intelligence, he sure hoped so, it'd make it easier to communicate in the field. As a Jedi he didn't feel the same signature of life from the droid as the others here, which was useful if you wanted to get someone in unnoticed.

@[member="Kei Amadis"], @[member="Manu Xextos"]

Siobhan acknowledged the Echani joining them with a nod. She felt the Force gather around and part of her found herself liking the man. Someone with a plan, with clear action in mind and willingness carry out the deed. Of course, Fareseeing was not her thing, the more mystical applications of the Force eluded her and she was often not inclined to put her trust in them. But then Chandaar was not a world she was familiar with.

She waited for both men to speak before raising her voice. "Not in the shipping business...yet, but it's got hefty anti-force user tech and weapons for ground warfare. Ordinance employed by the OP military, and it shall expand." she replied. Beyond the Protectorate, her old loyalties to them had died. Loyal only to...the person she had failed. Her own life? Not particularly important when all was said and done.

There was a pause before she continued speaking. "Former Lady Protector Tegaea Alcori and Princess Anya Venari head the company. Suffice to say we got our reasons to want Sith dead." Her expression and tone darkened but she left it at that. Not her place to divulge the why, and in any case it was personal.

She acknowledged his offer. "Thanks. I'll keep it in mind," she said simply. There was a smile on her face, though thin and it was gone almost as soon as it appeared. It seemed perhaps she could not let herself be cheerful or enjoy comradeship, but then she probably did not deserve it. She most certainly did not. Sometimes she could barely look @[member="Tegaea Alcori"] in the eyes.

"Boys will be boys," Judah said with a slight scoff, as he took a drink from the round glass containing the golden amber liquid which represented the finest of what the Corellians had to offer. This was supposed to be a celebration, a meet up of sorts to see who was set to take the action required to purge the darkness from the galaxy.

He nodded to the Rutian Twi'lek who seemed to be enjoying the same beverage, and could not help but sense a bit of the same frustration which he felt in the moment. She was pretty to be sure, and Judah definitely noticed. He also nodded to the girl she had been with who now seemed to be talking to another individual Judah did not know. There were a lot of unfamiliar faces. There was also a lot of talk, but still little action. Perhaps that was the reason for the get together, but Judah was always one to prefer action to dialogue. There was a place for diplomacy, but there was also a need for what Judah liked to call "aggressive negotiations." Besides the fact there was some hostility seeming to brew between some of the more orthodox in the room and those who had decided to form the Army of Light was a huge turn off to the Jedi Sentinel and ace pilot. The Twi'lek seemed like minded enough, so Judah thought she could be a trusted ally and comrade among the rest of the group.

"Too much talking if you ask me," he said lifting one corner of his mouth as he made a half grin.

The Judah behaved at times some people could easliy mistake him for a Corellian, but those who knew him well enough saw the balance Telosian for who he really was. The Knight was thinking he could have continued to work on his fighter, and finish the post flight check as he had recently arrived to the gathering. The whiskey was too good to pass up though, and well worth the break. Judah casually walked over to the Twi'lek and set his near empty glass on the tray as it came by. One drink was enough for tonight as he still had work to do later. He pulled the hood of his cloak back as he leaned against the nearby wall in his very nontraditional Jedi dress.

"I'm thinking I might need to skip out early and finish my post flight check. Those starfighters don't take care of themselves. Judah Lesan, by the way," he said offering his hand for a shake.

@[member="Cambria Zadira"]

"Yes, I would gladly help you with that endeavor, @[member="Natol'ine"]. Once this Army of Light thing is all settled, we can mark out a time to do so," Cambria smiled humbly, then canted her head respectfully towards @[member="Yusan Fenn"] as he approached the young woman. There was something in Natol'ine's aura that radiated that she was special in someway, but it was aloof enough that the Guardian could not put a finger on it just yet. Perhaps after getting to know her better this mystery would avail itself.

Golden eyes found themselves staring rather conspicuously at a rugged yet nice looking human male dressed in nontraditional Jedi robes that had more of a ranger-style to them. Cambria schooled herself quickly as he came closer and spoke to her. She was not one to ogle the opposite sex being true to the Jedi code, but he did catch her eye over others.

"Mhmm I agree. Action does speak louder than words, and these boys got a bit too wordy for my taste," the blue-skinned Knight answered with her thick yet smooth Twi'lek accent etched in her speech. Taking @[member="Judah Lesan"]'s offered hand, she shook it in a friendly greeting.

"Cambria Zadira…" she said, bowing her head with a respectful twitch of her lekku, then added with a conspiratorial smile. "So you are a Jedi Ace too? Well, do let me know when you are going to slip out. I should be doing the same rather than standing here mingling when there is much work to be done."

"I am who I am, and that is a great many things," Judah with another signature half grin in response to @[member="Cambria Zadira"]. "A Jedi Ace is one of those things. It's good to know there are others among this fledgling movement, or whatever you want to refer to it as."

Whether Judah would join or not had already been decided. The Knight was present, and like most Jedi Sentinels who followed the path of the Jedi Shadow, Judah came alone. It was often a lonely life, and for someone as outgoing as he was, it was also a difficult life. Of course the Knight had remained true to the code, and with his master's death, he was not actively seeking to fill the hole left by the loss of that bond. It was what Judah really needed, but he was refusing to let himself feel connected again. The last thing Judah needed was to suffer loss again. His first loss was hard enough, why allow a second. Judah desperately craved friendship though, so despite how hard everything within him screamed to turn the cold shoulder to the Twi'lek and remain the mysterious shadow, he found himself making an effort regardless.

"Well I think things here are pretty much done. We know where the 'orthodox Jedi' stands with all of this. Others have given their opinions. The only real question is whether to join or not, and my presence here speaks to my decision on the issue. Might as well leave now and get to work."

Judah pushed off the wall. Cambria was either going to place her glass on the passing tray and follow, or she was going to stay. Either way, Judah was going to go finish his post flight check. The dark haired Knight would rather get his hands dirty than stand around and listen to all the talking, besides it kept him from having to feel like he had to make friends. Most of the group were strangers yes, and would over time become familiar. Right now though, Judah was still very guarded. Had the Twi'lek not seemed so like minded, he would not have even approached her despite her beauty. In fact, that should have been the one reason he stayed away, but even though he had managed to follow the code in regards to the idea of attachments, he found himself enjoying her appearance.

"Time to get our hands dirty, don't you think?"

"Ah, then you must be a Sentinel by path, a Shadow yes? I am pure Guardian. The physical side of the Force has always called strongly to me since I was just a youngling," Cambria shared, then took the last sip of her drink. The Twi'lek Knight didn't know why she was being so open with @[member="Judah Lesan"]. Normally, Cambria was very reserved, but for some reason the Human Knight brought out her more impish side that was usually buried deep within.

When Judah remarked briefly about the "orthodox Jedi", Cambria sighed inwardly. The stern Jedi Master's appearance at the meeting had disturbed her to a degree. Not that he was present and might turn them into the Council for disciplinary actions, but more so how the sage master openly was so aggressive in getting his opinions across to the group. And then there was the theatrics at the end when he suddenly disappeared… It really wasn't necessary to prove his point. The young Twi'lek had served under Master Dista on a mission before, but had not found him to be so righteous, if that was even the right word to use.

Cambria watched thoughtfully as Judah pushed off from the wall and placed his empty glass on the serving tray passing, then he basically invited her to leave with him to presumably to work on their fighters. She nodded an affirmative, then set her glass next to his on the tray and followed him to a nearby exit , slipping out of the modified hangar where they others were still gathered without fanfare.

Yusan caught @[member="Cambria Zadira"] nod and did so back before speaking to Natol'ine. "So, how are you doing miss Natol'ine, i do hope youve recovered from what had happened to you and all." He refrained from actually mentioning the crystals, he had learned from experience an enemy has ears everywhere and there was no need to make a bad thing worse because of such. He let a smile remain on his face and his tone remained cheerful as he spoke, as if without a single care.

She had not been there long, just standing a way off, leaning on the wall, with a bottle of Ale hanging by her side. She lifted the long neck and took a mouth full of Corellia's finest. She knew absolutely no one here. Only just arriving to the Army of Light, she was told of this meeting, of sorts, well they all seemed personable I suppose, time will tell that though. For the moment, she just kept to herself and watched the interaction between some of the couples. She smiled at some of them as she continued to drink from the long neck. Well, I can't stay here just drinking by myself, that would look odd indeed.

So she moved over to the company of the Light, "Greetings", she said raising her bottle in salute, "Can anyone here tell me where I can go and pick up a good solid rifle? I assume the Army of Light has some I can get my hands on", she asked of no one in particular. Yes, she will enjoy a few drinks with the company and then move out for 'business', with the Sith or anyone else that wish to stand in her way.

The Force works in mysterious ways... sometimes unknown, sometimes a little bit funny, and in most times, unexpected.

Vexander stood in the middle of the room. and noticed a newcomer... a girl about his age. There was nothing out of the ordinary other than the fact that she seemed to be a female soldier in her finest. The way she drank was peculiar, more than even the Padawan was used to even after a long day in a hard recon mission...

The young man was about to take his attention away from her when he noticed her smile at the couples that were around the room... at that moment, he saw something peculiar: an image flashed in his mind with the same woman... dressed in a jumpsuit with a helmet below her arm. The girl smiled back and quickly jumped on an A-Wing starfighter with an old and battered emblem of the Jedi Order above a planet that seemed to be Ossus...

Vexander shook his head to his sides and snaped out of it... the involuntary image that came to his mind inmediately caught his attention and curiosity... he has never seen her, and definetely not around the Jedi Order. Still, he knew that the image was not made up...

The young man tried to ignore the image for the time being... those images were still a sensitive subject for him and at the moment it was too confusing for him to dwell on it further. Instead, he carried on with his business in the gathering and tried to mind his own business in the Army of Light... but the fact that he saw the image remained even after drinking a few more sips of his Corellian Ale that was quickly being drained out.

"You sure you're purely a Guardian," Judah asked with a raised brow once it was clear the Rutian Twi'lek was following him down the corridor. "That's quite an intuitive observation from you, and an accurate one."

Yes, @[member="Cambria Zadira"] had accurately guessed his path. Just because he was a shadow, it did not mean he could not follow the Aces as well. The Army of Light was a fledgling order of sorts, and they needed pilots, they needed everything. Judah Lesan was not everything, he never pretended to be, but he was skilled. Cambria was not the only one who was intuitive however, or perceptive. Judah's skills as an empath meant he picked up on certain things without having to read minds. Body language was just as effective a method, and the way the Twi'lek tensed slightly at the mention of the "orthodox Jedi" told the Sentinel there was no love loss there.

"Don't let his theatrics get to you. Again it's just more words. Perhaps there might be some bite to that bark, but until he shows it do not worry about it. We have to do what we think is right despite what that particular master or anyone else says. That's why you're here isn't?"

Judah already knew the answer to that question. It was another technique which Master Gannik had taught him. The best way to judge how honest and sincere a person was at times, was to ask questions you already had the answers to. So far, Cambria had not given Judah any reason to believe that she was insincere about why she was among the Army of Light, which was a plus in his mind. There were certain Jedi who would hide their intentions and motivations even from their own, and Judah never understood that.

"So you're an Ace then. Do you know what plans there are to organize the pilots around here and get some squads going?"

Well it seems that beards are the fashion of the Army of Light, as she looked around the groups. She notice a guy keeping to himself and seemed to be in deep thought, although she is force sensitive, she is not trained and does not care to be, but she does have some innate skills and she can sense his turmoil, she does not understand why .. her skill only giving her a fleeting glimps of such things. She watched him for a moment, as he stood drinking his Ale, seems to the have the same taste as she does for the liquid amber.

As she passed to go and say hello to this man, she past a couple deep in conversation, another bearded one and a beautiful Twi`lek, Coci gave them a friendly nod of her hand as she past in way of greeting, but she did not wish to disturb them. There would be time enough the get to know them both better. And she would make sure that she does.

"Your glass needs refilling I see", she said to the young man, with the nicest, no most amazing blue eyes she had ever seen. However, her bottle of Ale is empty too, and she hold it up to show him. "And so does my bottle", she smiled again. "You know where to get a fresh one?".
