HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Cape Velikaya is surrounded by the Uelen Mountains and positioned at the edge of a peninsula that juts into the Anadyr Sea. The Kuunga River Valley behind the city provides the only outlet to the rest of the continent without having to scale the Uelen or sail the Anadyr. It remains the capital of the First Order's settlements on Needan. The Cape served as the heart of the First Order's environmental sciences, influencing policies on Needan and beyond. It is also a cultural crossroads, collaborating with native species such as the Ursidaans, Balaenoans, and Lutriians.

After the Nutaaq Snowstorm and the post-Reclamation rebuilding efforts, Cape Velikaya required extensive clean-up and reconstruction. Corporate partners like Primo Victorian Shipwright and Aurora Industries, along with private citizen donations, helped the First Order rebuild on Needan.

Prefabricated buildings temporarily replaced planned architectural designs. Salvageable buildings were restored, while others were demolished and recycled. The First Order ensured nothing went to waste, using lessons from the past to guide the present and future. Security in Cape Velikaya was initially maintained by the Stormtrooper Corps before the Army formally took over, training the Provincial and Mounted Police. Naval forces patrolled the Anadyr Sea, and the Starfighter Corps expanded Kodiak Station within the Uelen Mountains.

Reconstruction continued, and as people returned, the sight of repulsor cranes and heavy construction equipment became normal. The economy revived, securing Cape Velikaya's future under the First Order's banner. With the First Order's quiet withdrawal from the galactic stage, Primo Victorian Enterprises, led by Fiolette Fortan, stepped in to support the region. This move aimed to protect the work started by Fiolette's daughter, Ariel, encouraging democratic processes without direct governance.

By 879 ABY, Needan became a founding member of the Commonwealth, and Cape Velikaya played a vital role in the constitutional convention that ratified the Commonwealth's constitution in 882 ABY. This transition marked a new era for the city, now serving as a central administrative hub within the Commonwealth. The city's economy has flourished due to its financial companies, growing entertainment industry, and tourist attractions centered around its renowned seafood and sustainability efforts.

Today, Cape Velikaya stands as a testament to resilience and adaptability. The city's architecture blends antiquity, retro-modernism, and futuristic designs, reflecting its rich history and forward-looking aspirations. It continues to be a major center for environmental sciences, cultural exchange, and economic activity within the Commonwealth.
