OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: Sith Battlelords of Wonosa
  • Affiliation: Order of Wonosa, Alisteri Haxim
  • Classification: Commander/Sith Battlelord
  • Description: Seen as the most revered and sought after rank within the Order of Wonosa, at least by its few Force users, a Sith Battlelord of Wonosa serves as both a military commander and a spiritual leader within the order. Clad in a modified set of Squire Armor and empowered by both years of training and some Dark Side rituals, the Battlelords are imposing yet inspiring figures that stand at the forefront of the order's military and Sith forces. Leading the charge and bringing the beliefs of their cult wherever they go.
COMBAT INFORMATION
  • Unit Size: Small
  • Unit Availability: Rare
  • Unit Experience: Veteran
  • Equipment: Modified Squire Armor, Karza Asmenys, Lightsaber
  • Combat Function: The main roles of the Battlelords are in those of command and as such they have been trained in fairly basic and standard tactics, at least for the Order of Wonosa, and often favor breaking through and surrounding enemies with fast and decisive maneuvers. In general they, much like Alisteri Haxim himself, prefer to essentially ambush their opponents when on the defensive. Drawing their enemies into prepared kill zones and traps that allow for flanking and overwhelming firepower to destroy them. When it comes to their personal combat ability each Battlelord is roughly equivalent to that of a Sith Knight and are trained in the lightsaber forms of Shii-Cho, Juyo, and Jar'Kai. They are trained to end fights quickly and efficiently, usually in some brutal manner as to surprise and incapacitate or slay an opponent in a few swift strikes. They also make heavy usage of the Force in their battles, whether they be large scale or duels.
  • Force Abilities (Force User Units Only): Weak version of Battle Meditation, Telekinesis, Mind Trick, Force Lightning, Force Rage
Strengths:
  • Lords in Battle and Sith: A Battlelord is a veteran of many years of training and battles, being handpicked not only for combat and Force ability but also for their skill and aptitude in leadership and strategy. They are expected to fulfill the roles of a commander and a spiritual leader for both their soldiers and the other cultists that rely on them for security and are extensively trained to do so.
  • Empowered by Rituals: In addition to their training and experience with arts and powers of the Sith, in an effort to somewhat emulate and recreate the original Sith Battlelords, all Battlelords are enhanced by a series of rituals. While these do slightly boost existing Force abilities, the main point is to induce a form of Battle Meditation in them. While this power is induced artificially it is augmented by some additional powers that grant them a greater ability to sense and read their soldiers.
Weaknesses:
  • Lords in Name Only: Despite the grand title, in reality a Battlelord is roughly equivalent to a Sith Knight in most respects aside from their special training in tactics and troop management. Their Force powers and lightsaber forms are fairly lacking, although not entirely useless of course, and due to them lacking a real apprenticeship they are trained more generally rather than specially. This leaves them inefficient in terms of being proper Sith but they fill their roles within the Order of Wonosa almost perfectly.
  • Aversion to the Light: Given their enhancement by Dark Side rituals, exposure to a Light Side nexus or even certain powers such as Force Light can temporarily disable or diminish the effects of the ritual and leave them far weaker as a result. Their Battle Meditation would also be similarly cut off and thus leave their troops weakened as well.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Order of Wonosa's growth overtime in both influence on Formos and in numbers from their various slave liberations would inevitably lead to the cult gaining more and more Force Sensitives, albeit not at a very fast rate. Of course those blessed with the Force would be recruited and trained as Squires but as their numbers began to slowly increase it became obvious to the cult that relegating them to a simple infiltrator role would not work forever. Many showed interest in other roles on the frontlines, in the churches, and even in the management of the cult and its territory.

Of course the High Priest was not one to stifle such ambitions and eagerly allowed the Squires to begin filling more broader roles, but that would not be enough. As the galaxy changed and the order grew it was clear that more formalized and ordered systems would need to be put in place. For too long the Sith of the Order of Wonosa had been limited to simple Squires, but no longer. They would be trained, schooled, and the veterans would find themselves in new roles.

One such role, indeed perhaps the most important one for the growing ranks of Wonosa, was that of the Battlelord. Inspired by the original role assigned to the Sith of a long dead order, the High Priest would begin designating and singling out some veteran Squires that had qualities he found suitable for the title. Experienced and capable warriors, those with a desire to lead battles, and those that sought to guide the cultists that they fought for, all were the necessary qualities that would lay the foundations for a Battlelord of Wonosa.

They would be trained hard and made to learn various skills and arts meant both for their own combat abilities and to command the soldiers of the order. When a potential Battlelord was deemed ready by the High Priest they would undergo a series of rituals that would enhance their powers and connection to the Dark Side further. However the main gift of these rituals would come in the form of Battle Meditation, albeit a weaker version that would be augmented by some further sensing abilities. After these rituals the Battlelord would then take a series of trials that were catered to whatever was their weakest skillset, regardless of whether it be in leadership or combat. They would attempt these trials until success, then and only then would they be declared a Battlelord and granted the honor of wielding a lightsaber.
